Missouri Wrestling Revival would like to send our best wishes to Shane Hollister. Hollister announced earlier today that he was calling it a career after suffering a fractured his ankle. During the MWR years, Hollister has been one of the most exciting wrestlers in the area and we were proud to have his match against Tyler Cook at 3XWrestling featured in the MWR’s Best of the Midwest DVD in 2008.
Always entertaining Hollister was an exciting wrestler who had a great look and excellent skills that will be missed in the wrestling world.
Once again our best wishes goes out to Hollister as his place in the ring comes to an end, we have no doubt that he could still contribute in many facets in wrestling if he chooses as he is one the brightest minds in the sport today.

On Friday, February 25th, MAGNUM Pro will return to the Eagles Club in Council Bluffs, IA with the MAGNUM debut of “Magnum” Joey Ryan. Details and card announcement will be coming soon!
With less then a week away 3XWrestling’s “Reign of Terror II” is starting to heat up this frozen city! The real rumble will take place February 4th at the hottest place in town the Des Moines Social Club. Don’t miss your chance to see true professional wrestlers live in action!
Will this feud ever end? The hatred between two of the most talented wrestlers in 3XW has driven these men to extreme levels! The 3XW Pure Wrestling Champion, “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong, turned on his former partner, “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell, and the fans in a fit of jealousy last year. Since his turn to the darkside Kwong has assaulted Rockwell numerous times from behind and robbed him of the Pure Wrestling belt.
At last months show Kwong and The Mauler were disqualified after their manager and first class nerd, Chad Mylan, assaulted the ref! Rockwell and his partner Sir Bradley Charles got the win but not the way they wanted. “The Rockstar” had enough and took to the mic and challenged the villainous Kwong to a match at “Reign of Terror II”. There is one stipulation is in effect for that night. If Kwong gets disqualified the belt will change hands! This is sure to be a classic and brutal war between the one time allies.
The 3XWrestling Tag Team gold will also be on the line at “Reign of Terror II”. “The Horndogs” will be defending their titles for the first time against the “Genesis” team of Sly and Smooth. “Maddog” McDowell and Krotch of “The Horndogs” have been together for some time and finally won the belts that they deserve. After beating another “Genesis” team, Casanova and “Delicious” Devin Carter, the “Dogs” will have to keep watching their backs as every tag team will be gunning for them now.
This new “Genesis” tag team of Sly and Smooth are not really new. As with all “Genesis” members “Torturous” Tony Sly and A.J. Smooth have been at 3XW since its inception. These two have yet to obtain any single titles so maybe as a tag team they will have more success. Being that this is their first tag match together it will be interesting to see how well these two clowns get along.
The 3XW Heavyweight belt will be defended as Brian Ash takes on the “World’s Fittest Wrestler” Mark Sterling. Team “Genesis” will take on the returning “High Flyers” and “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade. In another tag team match American Ground and Air of “Genesis” will quarrel with Sir Bradley Charles and “The American Fury” Jon West. Also just recently added the always exciting Shane Hollister will have a match against the one and only Rebelucha!
Reign of Terror II” will be held at the Des Moines Social Club on Friday, February 4th located at 1408 Locust Street in Des Moines, IA. Tickets can be purchased online at 3XWrestling.com or at Cup O’Kryptonite and both Jay’s CD and Hobby locations. Advance presale tickets cost $12 for adults and $6 for kids 10 and under. Ticket will also be sold the night of the show at $15 for adults, $6 for kids 10 and under and kids 3 and under are free. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the bell time being 7:30 p.m. Be there or be square.
Fans of Missouri Wrestling Revival have often asked for us to have a Rookie of the Year award. After some serious thoughts, we thought it may be easier to honor that one guy or women who we feel has the talent, skills and work ethic to make it to the next level in our sport.
Easy was by far the wrong word, after taking some time to look all around the Midwest I quickly realized that there are most defintly some hard working wrestlers with skills and talent galore.
That’s why I have to believe that this award is very deserving. The MWR Fans are full aware of the talents of Mark Sterling and Jeremy Wyatt, both former MWR Wrestlers of the Year but this is for that guy who could very well be a future MWR Wrestler of the Year and more importantly have a chance to sign with the WWE.
So without further ado, we are proud to announce the first ever MWR Future Star- Sir Bradley Charles
Sir Bradley Charles made his way to Canada to train with Lance Storm at his Wrestling Academy. Charles has worked overseas before heading back home to The King’s Court of Kansas City.
In the Midwest SBC has made his way to work a who’s who of promotions in the MWR Coverage area including HVW, PWP,3XW,NWA Dynamo and has been OVER in his hometown of Kansas City with the upstart promotion Metro Pro Wrestling.
SBC chants are often heard during his matches with some of the very best in the Midwest including Domino Rivera, Shane Hollister, Mike Sydal, Flash Flannigan and Jayden Draigo.
Recently he has been at odds with Mark Sterling in a battle over the crossfit training. Sir Bradley Charles would come up short in the challenge but there is no doubt that he is a first round pick in any promotion in the Midwest.
While SBC has youth on his side, it’s the desire to become better with each and every match that allows promoters and the fans to see that “it” factor just waiting to explode.
It is with great pleasure that we name Sir Bradley Charles as the first MWR Future Star award. J

Des Moines-based 3XWrestling proudly congratulates always-exhilarating aerial specialist Mike Sydal on being selected the 2009 Pro Wrestling Illustrated “Rookie of the Year.”
Sydal, who is currently one-half of the 3XW Tag Team champions The High Flyers (with “Unbreakable” Zach Thompson), won with 24% of the total vote, beating out TNA Wrestling rookie sensation Jesse Neal.
Widely known around the Midwest wrestling scene for his breathtaking high-flying maneuvers and unbelievable speed in the ring, Sydal is the brother of current WWE superstar Evan “Matt Sydal” Bourne. He’s recently branched out to competing on the east coast in states such as Florida and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s famous ECW Arena.
Sydal joins an illustrious group of previous award winners that includes luminaries such as Larry Zbyszko, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Bob Backlund, Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat, “Wildfire” Tommy Rich, Terry Taylor, Nord the Barbarian, “Total Package” Lex Luger, Owen Hart, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright, The Giant, Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton and fellow former 3XW competitor Zach Gowen.
Sydal’s next wrestling appearance in on Feb. 5 in Des Moines, Iowa as part of 3XW‘s Reign of Terror event at the Des Moines Social Club. Sydal teams up with Thompson to defend the 3XW Tag Team titles against The Gentlemen’s Club – Mark Sterling and Gage Octane with Todd Countryman. This is a rematch of the spectacular August battle between these teams at the King of Des Moines Tournament event.
Also available right now at http://www.3xwrestling.com/sydalvshollister.htmis a great match from June 2009 featuring Sydal battling fellow Midwest standout Shane Hollister. Be sure to watch the other “Matches of the Month” at the site to catch a glimpse of 3XW at The Des Moines Social Club, the most exciting venue for pro wrestling in the United States today!
Pro Wrestling Entertainment returned on June 20th with some of the biggest stars in the Midwest. The PWE Champion “Bloody” Harker Dirge was set to defend his title that he had won from former ECW/WWE Superstar Al Snow against the Red Hot Kahagas.
Kahagas who just the night before was invited to IWA’S Ted Petty Invitational looked to take the title back to Florida. Also on the line was the PWE Tag team Champions Zero Gravity (Brett Gakiya & CJ Esparza) putting the belts against Feature Presentation of EricRuffington & Blake Steel.
The PWE US title was vacated so we were treated with a three way between some of the youngest stars in the sport with Krotch, Mark Sterling and Hunter Matthews.
If you are a fan of the BIG men, they do not get any bigger than the battle of the Mississippi Madman and Keith Walker. Two of the most powerful men in the Midwest went toe to toe. The match was a dream match that had to be contained by another giant of the Midwest “The Future”
Donovan Ruddick.
Speaking of a dream match a personally one of mine was at PWE when the 2008 MWR Wrestler of the year Jeremy Wyatt was in action taking on the young and exciting Shane Hollister.
Other of my favorites was in action too. Curly was there, Mike Sydal, Matt Cage, Nick Brubaker and more showcased the Midwest.
With a star studded card from top to bottom the crowd PWE was set though the attendance was small A problem arose and they had to put the ring on the parking lot but that didn’t stop all the wrestlers from going out in the heat and having a great card.
MWR Fans I give you a photo essay of PWE.

Wrestling fans I have to apologize to you for the amount of work that I have not had a chance to do with MWR as of late. This recap will not be as thorough as I would like and my pictures are at my home computer and I am out of town for the moment so I can not add them, but with a PPV talent filled matches that PWN will have this Friday I felt the urge to share with you thoughts from the last show and encourage you to make the trip to Davenport.
I was thrilled to get an invite to Pro Wrestling Next located in Davenport, Iowa to check out a phenomenal card on May 15th. Some of the most talented wrestlers in the country work for this upstart promotion. Pro Wrestling Next recently took over Scott County Wrestling in a battle of the two promotions and this was one of their very first cards under the PWN banner.
Thanks to PWN I was able to get some great interviews that I will share with you to go along results from Craig at the PWN message board I am going to give you the recap from an exciting night of wrestling that saw ROH Superstars Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs, former WWE Star Zach Gowan. PWN also boast some of the great tag teams with The Phoenix Twins, Zero Gravity, Hybrids and The Northstar Express. Also on the card was top young talent like Juice Robinson, Krotch, Hunter Mathews, Shane Hollister and Arik Cannon. Main event match Danny Daniels and The Mississippi Madman for the PWN title all show that PWN is one of the premier promotions in the Midwest.
Before the show started, Mark Storm announced that Pro Wrestling NEXT was an official affiliate of the National Wrestling Alliance!
In the opening match of the evening, Zero Gravity and Samuray Del Sol def. Nick Brubaker and The Hybrids in an impressive high flying match. Del Sol looked especially impressive in his PWN debut.
Mark Storm came out to the ring and former SCW Senior Executive Jake Ryder followed shortly behind. Storm announced that he was keeping a majority of the SCW roster as part of his staff. Jake assumed that meant he still had a job too, but Storm cleared that right up when he officially fired Jake Ryder. Jake asked Storm what he was suppose to do. Storm said that Super Target was hiring. Security then escorted Ryder out of the building.
“The One Legged Wonder” Zach Gowan defeated Juice Robinson with a moonsault off the top rope.
Missouri Wrestling Revival caught up with fromer Scott County wrestler Marek Brave who was not happy with one Mark Strom.
Tyler Black and Marek Brave were set to square off, but Brave said that he didn’t agree to compete against Black and that he was going to do it his way and introduced his partner making it a 2-on-1 match, Ring of Honor star Jimmy Jacobs. Just as Jacobs and Brave were about to strike, Krotch’s music hit and we were treated to a surprise tag match.
Tyler Black and Krotch defeated Jimmy Jacobs and Marek Brave when Jacobs and Brave had an argument that led to Jacobs giving Brave a DDT and leaving him. Brave has certainly has his fair share of humility over the last few months. It’ll be interesting to see how he bounces back.
QC Champion Hunter Matthews came to the ring ready to wrestle Krotch in their scheduled QC Title Match, but since Krotch had already competed, he could not compete in the QC Title Match. When Matthews thought he didn’t have to defend, Mark Storm announced that he would have an opponent and it would be his longtime rival, Dewey Dawson.
Hunter Matthews defeated. Dewey Dawson with a top rope piledriver. This match was all over the place. Near the end, Dawson grabbed one of the merchandise tables full of DVDs, placed Matthews on the table over the DVDs and delivered a frog splash from the top rope to the outside!
Jordan McEntire defeated Knight Wagner and Mia Martinez
Shane Hollister defeated Arik Cannon to retain the NWA Iowa State Championship in a fantastic match that had the crowd on the edge of their seat
The Phoenix Twins and The Northstar Express went to a Double DQ as things got out of control. These two teams will meet again on June 5th and you, the fans can pick the stipulation!
Mississippi Madman prior to his war with Danny Daniels talks to Dubray Tallman from MWR.
In the main event, Danny Daniels defeated The Mississippi Madman to become the new PWN Champion when a masked man ran in and distracted Madman long enough for Daniels to put the former champ through a table and getting the pin.
On Friday, June 5th, PWN presents “The Next Show” and right here, fan have the opportunity to vote for what they want to see! Each link will lead you to a poll where you have the opportunity to vote for the option you like best! Vote as much as you’d like and keep check back as more polls will be opening soon!
