2015 Missouri Wrestling Revival Wrestler of the Year Jeremy Wyatt

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 1, 2016

 photo 00_zps9tbdnnpl.jpg

In 2015 many wrestlers in the Midwest deserved to win awards by having great matches, earning accolades and drawing big crowds all around the Midwest. That could not have been done if the talent was not delivering in the ring having fans counting the days till the next event.

Jeremy Wyatt first won the MWR Wrestler of the Year award in 2008 when he earned the nickname the Belt Collector by capturing belts throughout the Midwest. Since that time he has been in the running for the same award every year as he delivered excellent matches and built a fan base through cheers and hate throughout the Midwest.

In 2015, Jeremy Wyatt once again filled the arenas with historic matches and feuds while being showcased in 23 main events in 5 of the MWR promotions including his home of Kansas City, as well as Des Moines, Iowa, Granite City, Illinois and Council Bluffs Iowa.

His feud with Metro Pro Wrestling commissioner Michael Strider has lead to huge matches with the likes of Christopher Daniels, Matt Striker, Ricky Cruz, Christian Rose, Ace Steel and has involved Jim Cornette to  help spearhead wrestling back to life in Kansas City. He represented 3XW as their champion against the like of Rory Fox while  feuding with his often friend/rival Mark Sterling in a dog collar ladder No DQ match and an 80 Minute Iron Man match, while facing Hype Gotti in a loser leaves PWP match in July.

In St. Louis, Wyatt found himself drawing red hot heat from the fans at St. Louis Anarchy and PWCS as he battled Colt Cabana while testing his skills against KC Karrington, Makaze,  & Steven Kennedy in the main events.

There is talks that Jeremy Wyatt is close to calling it a career, but if anything is clear it is that his impact on the MWR Coverage area is still being felt in 2015 and beyond.

Past MWR Wrestlers of the Year Winners

2014 Ricky Cruz
2013 Jake Dirden
2012 Adam Pearce
2011 Brandon Espinosa
2010 Mike Sydal
2009 Mark Sterling
2008 Jeremy Wyatt

A Perfect Night for MWR at SICW – Dubray Tallman Says Yes

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 25, 2015

 photo 12 1_zpsaoq4xc2b.jpg

Brian on his knees proposing with the “good guys” from SICW ,Brent Meyers, WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Cowboy Bob Orton, and “Old School” Chaz Wesson showing their approval with a thumbs up for the proposal as Dubray Tallman accepts the ring while the “bad guys” “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas, Wyldefyre, Curtis Wylde and SICW Champion Flash Flanagan shows their disapproval. Special edit to Derek Sharpe who unfortunately had to take out Ron Powers on the good side because the room was not big enough….

Missouri Wrestling Revival has had the pleasure to support pro wrestling in the Midwest for the past 8 years by covering the biggest events, awesome matches and moments in hundreds of events. During that time we have provided a home for fans to come to so that they are aware of where to be and why, with over 4,000 posts and thousands upon thousands of photos of the young wrestlers in action looking to live their dream as a wrestling superstar.

While MWR has been blessed to have the support of promoters and wrestlers around the country, and have our very own Yearbooks on Amazon.com and MWR T-shirts sold around the world on ProwrestlingTees, our biggest achievement most definitely has been the positive relationship with the wrestling community and the fans around the country.

They say that behind every good man is a good woman. For myself that has been Dubray Tallman. I had met her over 11 years ago and during that time I wish that I could say that it has been easy, but alas we have had highs and lows that have been self-inflicted at times. Yet, there is no doubt that there has been no women that I have loved as much as I have loved her.

As we were dating early on, I took her to see Harley Race’s World League Wrestling and Kansas’s Central States Wrestling. At the events we would build a foundation of friends in and out of the ring that we still share to this day. Our life would change forever on a day that my friend Josh Ray, called to ask me if I wanted to contribute to a website called Missouri Wrestling Revival. Early on it was Josh, myself and a talented young writer still in High School from St. Louis named Kari Williams who hoped to present a professional positive view of the local wrestling scene in the Midwest.

Years would pass and both Josh and Kari would go on to bigger and better things in life, but Dubray and I would travel to over 40 events a year in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Iowa. The amount of miles, money and time to do this site has taken up a huge amount of the past decade for the two of us. Dubray has never been a wrestling fan, but has always been there to support my love for pro wrestling.

So when I decided that I should ask my true love to marry me, I wanted to do something special that she would remember for the rest of her life. One of my most vivid memories growing up was Macho Man Randy Savage proposing marrying Miss Elizabeth, and I wanted to provide Dubray a moment where she was the main attraction for our biggest moment to date.

The decision was where to have the big moment. First and foremost, Kansas City has always been like my first home as that is where we went for over a year to start to check out the stars of CSW. Today, wrestling is even bigger and better there as Metro Pro Wrestling is the place to be in Kansas City every other month. The Turner Rec Center is always packed with close to 400-to 500 fans that we are very close to. The promotionis also the  home to my close friend and the Artist of Champions Rob Schamberger while having  a great mixture of talent that we have supported in several promotions. So Kansas City would have been a great choice.

During the past couple of years our finances have been depleting as disappointments with jobs and our four kids going to college that our visits to Iowa has dwindled considerable. Still every time that we have made our way to the beautiful state of Iowa, it has been a true pleasure as the wrestling has been fun and the people are so awesome. We have seen that during the 2013 3XW Iowa Latino festival and this years Jeff Thompson Memorial event. I have long considered Iowa fan favorite Mark McDowell to be one of my best friends and it would be a pleasure to have done it at either PWP or 3XW.

Yet, St. Louis was the one place that I felt that it would be the perfect place to propose to Dubray  due to the fact that it was the home of the majority of the promotions that we cover. It would allow a chance for all of our friends and fans of SICW, PWCS, WLW, Dynamo Pro Wrestling, New Breed Wrestling,  MMWA,PWE, St. Louis Anarchy, Proving Ground Pro  and High Risk Wrestling to make the trip to see put my heart on the line.

I decided that the SICW’s home of East Carondelet, Illinois would be the perfect place to do so as the the Community Center is always packed with fans that have become friends for years, and is the home of  St. Louis’s only TV tapping SICW Wrestling Explosion. Add on the fact that promoter Herb Simmons and his wife Mickey have been very close friends and the ring announcer/commentator Dr. Drew was a friend of ours long before he earned a career in the sport, I had faith that they would do what they could to make it go as smooth as possible.

On the way home from the historic WLW Ric Flair/WWE/NOAH/NEW JAPAN camp event in Troy, Missouri in August I made the call to ask Herb if it was possible that I would be allowed to propose to Dubray in the ring in the near future. My idea was to have Herb announce that he was going to present us with an “award” to thank us for our support of pro wrestling in the Midwest. Beings that she was included in the announcement from Herb she would be required to be in attendance that night. A quick note, Dr. Drew would cement that thought in her head in a positive light when he announced during their TV show that the “Queen of MWR” Dubray and I would be there to accept the award.

Herb asked me if I would like to do it at the October event as it was going to be a huge night with the St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame. I was concerned that we would be trying to take away the focus of the Hall of Fame induction, to which Herb stated that he believed that it would only add to the occasion. So with his blessing and help the day was set for the big announcement.

I have never been good on the mic, so it has always been a good that I have been working behind the scenes through the website and photos. When it was time to put my heart on the line, Herb was a 100 percent right, the time could not have been any better. Thanks to the huge night of honoring Bill Apter and Eddie Smith into the Hall of Fame, there was many friends in the building that may not have been there otherwise as friends came from Minnesota , Iowa and beyond.

During the week I had watched some proposals online to help me find the right words and actions to make her moment as special as possible. With time on my hands I also watched some proposal fails that were funny, but a possibility for us to be included if I was to total mess It up.

Before I knew it, we were in the ring accepting our award, and as we had planned Herb and Drew encouraged Dubray to show off our new plaque to the fans as I prepared to get on my knees to ask the biggest question of our life. The moment was a blur, but I will forever remember the huge pop from the crowd as she said yes. Throughout the night, friends and people I did not know were all smiles as they congratulated us on the big moment. Looking back I know in my heart that it was a huge success as among those that were happy for us, there were many young kids around the age of 7-15 that stopped me to congratulate me on doing it in the ring, they thought it was so cool. Kids are as honest as they come and anytime you can impress them (and not bore them lol) on a night filled with hard hitting wrestling action then you know it was a huge success.

Thank you to Promoter Herb Simmons and SICW for allowing us to have our moment in the ring and for all the boys and girls in the locker room who were more than happy to take a proposal photo for fun.

As always thank you to all of the fans and our friends for their sincere support and we look forward to seeing you in 2015.

Loser leaves PWP Jeremy Wyatt vs Hype Gotti in Council Bluffs, Iowa July 31

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 18, 2015

 photo 11745544_972987639410644_9168051616856085504_n_zpsgoqh7flr.jpg

PWP fans, on Friday July 31st we return to the National Guard Armory in Council Bluffs Iowa… and the stakes have never been higher!!

Jeremy Wyatt Vs. Hype Gotti

After an amazing main event in May that saw Simply the Best win the PWP Tag Team Championship from Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling, Wyatt challenged long time rival Hype Gotti to a Loser Leaves PWP match!! Wyatt wants Hype Gotti gone for good, and made the challenge. Hype Gotti is known as a gambling man, willing to take risks when it comes to glory in the ring. Both men hold victories over each other in the past, there is no way to tell who is going to win this one, the only thing for sure is that one of these men will be leaving PWP forever!

PWP Championship
“Babyface” Tony Cortez Vs. Joey Daniels w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece

Axel Greece continues to secure major opportunities for his men, and now The Greece Pit has a chance to add another title to their stable, not just another title, but the PWP Championship!! Joey Daniels has had an impressive year thus far, taking former WWE star Scotty 2 Hotty to the limit in May – he now has the chance to capture the most coveted prize in PWP! “Babyface” Tony Cortez is not one to be taken lightly though. Cortez is a 3 time PWP Champion, as well as one half of the current PWP Tag Team Champions. Cortez has never been afraid of an uphill battle, however will the numbers game of The Greece Pit simply be too much? Be there July 31st to find out!

Tag Team Match
Abu Colossus & Branden Juarez Vs. Darren “Thunder” Russell & ???

Last month, Darren “Thunder” Russell defeated the man who robbed him of the PWP Championship earlier this year, Abu Colossus. As Russell was exiting after his huge win, his old rival Branden Juarez, who had been hiding under the ring, emerged and attacked Russell. This led to a brutal beatdown on Russell by both Juarez & Colossus – who seem to have formed some kind of alliance. Darren looks for revenge on July 31st in a tag team bout, however who will Darren find to watch his back?

PWP Rising Phoenix Championship
L-Ray w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece Vs. “The Passion” Zac James

Zac James earned a shot at the Rising Phoenix Championship last month, however, as usual – The Greece Pit used underhanded tactics to hold on to the title. Zac James requested a rematch, and that request was granted! Zac will need to have his guard up more than ever if he wants to win the Rising Phoenix Championship, however he says he is more than ready, and will come out on top! Be there on 7/31 to see how it goes down!

Also in action on July 31st!:

* Mark Sterling
* Pat Powers
* ”The Karaoke King” Purple
* Dalton Lee Roth
* Plus more!

‎Pro Wrestling Phoenix’s 10th Anniversary Spectacular May 23rd – featuring SCOTTY 2 HOTTY!!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 11, 2015

10 years. 10 YEARS! That is a long time! PWP Live is celebrating 10 years of Live Professional Wrestling, and it’s all thanks to our great fans! And we have something special for our fans, on May 23rd we proudly present the 10th Anniversary Spectacular! We have OVERLOADED this event with tons of amazing matches, and so much more! We plan on having one of our most memorable events of all time, so tell your friends and family, and let’s have some fun! There’s a lot going on, let’s check it out!

SCOTTY 2 HOTTY Vs. Joey Daniels w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece

We LOVE bringing superstars to PWP Live, and who better than former two time WWE Tag Team Champion SCOTTY 2 HOTTY! Part of the memorable Attitude Era tag team TOO COOL, Scotty makes his way to Council Bluffs on May 23rd to square off with The Greece Pit’s Joey Daniels! Joey and his “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece have been running their mouths ever since this match was announced. Joey says everywhere he goes, fans keep yelling “Joey’s Stupid” at him and he has had enough. He said he plans to take out his anger on Scotty 2 Hotty! But can Joey succeed, or is there a WORM in his future? Be there May 23rd to find out!

PWP Championship Triple Threat Match:
Abu Colossus Vs. “Babyface” Tony Cortez Vs. Darren “Thunder” Russell

Abu Colossus has been terrorizing PWP ever since he turned his back on Hype Gotti last year. After winning the PWP Championship in January, Tony Cortez has been, as he puts it “a thorn in his side”. In April Abu was disqualified when hitting Cortez in the head with the Championship belt. Cortez then challenged him to a NO DQ match on May 23rd. The match was set, two PWP originals set to do battle over the coveted title. However, Darren “Thunder” Russell, the man who Abu defeated for the Championship in January, sent a video to PWP explaining why he should also be in the match. Russell never had a re-match, he was busy dealing with Chainsaw King. After defeating King in a brutal Dog Collar Match in April, Russell is ready for his re-match, and the Triple Threat match will go down at the 10th Anniversary Spectacular! Can Abu retain the title and continue his dominance in PWP? Or will “Babyface” become a 3 time PWP Champion? Or, as Russell said in his video, will a new decade begin in PWP, the “Decade of Thunder”, as Russell becomes a 2 time PWP Champion? Don’t miss this PWP Championship match!

PWP Tag Team Championship Ladder Match:
Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling Vs. “Simply the Best” Hype Gotti & “Babyface” Tony Cortez

Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling returned to PWP just a little over a year ago. Since then, they have absolutely dominated the Tag Team Division. Wyatt & Sterling were able to destroy almost every team they came across over the last year. One team they can’t keep down however, is Hype Gotti & Tony Cortez, “Simply the Best”. Simply the Best won the very first main event in PWP history way back in 2005, and now they have a chance to become 2 time PWP Tag Team Champions. With the Championship suspended high above the ring, the only way to win is to climb a ladder and grab the titles. Hype Gotti returns to action for the first time since January. He had been taking time off to heal after a brutal match with Abu Colossus. Now he enters a dangerous ladder match. While dangerous, the Ladder Match is always an exhilarating bout. But Tony Cortez has two Championship matches on May 23rd. If injured during this match, it greatly decreases his chances in the PWP Championship match later in the night. But playing it safe may ensure victory for Wyatt & Sterling. Wyatt & Sterling may ensure victory anyway, as they are known to break the rules, and in a Ladder Match, there are no rules! One thing is for sure, this match will not disappoint! Don’t miss out on Ladder Match action on May 23rd!

PWP Rising Phoenix Championship Tournament Finals:
“Simply Ravishing” Ryan Slade Vs. L-Ray w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece

In March we began a tournament to crown the first ever PWP RISING PHOENIX CHAMPION. It has come down to two men, L-Ray of The Greece Pit, and Ryan Slade. Slade is a former PWP Champion and PWP Tag Team Champion. L-Ray has never held a championship in PWP. Axel Greece has led men to championships in the past however, and that’s exactly what they play to do on May 23rd. Slade has the opportunity to become the first ever PWP TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPION, but he has to strategize and find a way to beat the numbers game that often ends up with a Greece Pit victory. 3 months of tournament action all comes to a head on Saturday May 23rd! Be there to witness the first ever PWP Rising Phoenix Champion be crowned!

10 Year Anniversary Match:
“The Passion” Zac James Vs. Chris Havius

Once “The Passion” Zac James heard about the tournament to crown the first ever Rising Phoenix Champion, he immediately had a renewed vision in PWP. Disappointingly, he was defeated in a Semi-Final match in April. A little later during the event, Chris Havius came out to thank the fans for 10 years of PWP Live action. He then turned his attention to Zac. Chris explained how these two men are good friends in and out of the ring and have been for over 10 years now. Chris then challenged Zac to a match on May 23rd, mentioning that it was only fitting since they wrestled each other on the very first PWP Live event in 2005. Zac was quick to agree, however after a slap on the face, he told Chris that he is coming for a win at the 10th Anniversary Spectacular. Despite the aggression, Havius held it together in the ring, and the men shook hands. Regardless of the handshake, if you were there, you saw the tension between the two men, and you could tell that on May 23rd, these two will be giving it their all to find out which of them is the best. Don’t miss out on the history and rich tradition of PWP represented in this match on May 23rd!

ALSO APPEARING: Dalton Lee Roth, “The Karaoke King” Purple, Pat Powers and more!!

PLUS for the first time ever – the PWP VIP PACKAGE!

We are pleased to announce that at our 10th Anniversary Spectacular on Saturday May 23rd – we will be holding the first inductions into the PWP HALL OF FAME!!! More details will be announced soon, but we have decided that there will be 2 very deserving inductees. We’re excited about our decade of hard work and triumph, and this is just a way to honor a couple of the individuals who have been such a huge part of it!!

Get a chance to meet Scotty 2 Hotty!! Scotty will be signing autographs and taking photos, and will hold a brief Q&A with the fans. Ever wondered what it was like being in the WWF during the Attitude Era? How about teaming with Grand Master Sexay and WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi? Now’s your chance to ask!!

VIP ticket holders will get their choice of seats for all the in ring action, before the doors open to general admission ticket holders.

The PWP VIP Package is only $15 and includes entry to the night’s event. That is only $5 more than a regular ticket! We are providing a huge value to our great fans as a thank you for 10 years of exciting professional wrestling action! (Fans who already have GA tickets can upgrade to VIP by simply paying the difference at the door).

PWP This Friday Night in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 28, 2013

Pro Wrestling Phoenix returns on Friday night March 29th with YEAR OF THE PHOENIX VIII!

The primary focus on that evening will be crowning a brand new PWP Heavyweight Champion!

We will have 4 qualifying matches, which will be:

* Branden Juarez vs. Abu Colossus
* Shawn Nautilus vs. Derek Cornell
* Hype Gotti vs. SM King
* Preston Maxwell vs. Matty Star

The winners of those matches will advance to a main event Elimination 4 Way, and the last man standing will take home the vacant PWP Heavyweight Championship!

One of the biggest rivalries in PWP last year was between Darren ”Thunder” Russell and Vic Victory, that rivalry has yet to be resolved. The issue also extended to include ”Cheap & Dirty” member Zac James, as an apparent ally of Victory’s – as well as Chris Havius backing up his good friend Russell. At our last event, Victory (with a huge assist from Zac James) defeated Russell, even with Havius serving as special referee for the match. After the match, Victory & James left both Russell & Havius laying. Since then, we have tried to reach out to Vic Victory, but have not been able to get a single word out of him. Russell has made it clear that he intends to take care of unfinished business, and so, we have signed an official match for Year of the Phoenix VIII on Friday March 29th! Darren ”Thunder” Russell go one on one with ”The Passion” Zac James. Will Vic Victory show up? What role, if any, will Chris Havius play? Be there to find out!

All this and much more!!

The venue features a full bar, including $1 Bud Light draws!!

19) LONRS (Mark Sterling and Darrien Sanders)

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 31, 2011

The LONRS were once mentioned highly in the first ever MWR Tag team of the year award as the awards committee voted them second to the Northstar Express. . The LONRS would become the first and only team to win tag team championships at MWR Promotions in Illinois and Iowa as they accomplished that for AAPW and PWP.

Sterling brought to the table great wrestling knowledge while Sanders would deliver punishing kicks sending the message that the LONRS were to be feared.

Sanders would leave the sport for an MMA career while being replaced with #1 Brett Young as the New LONRS. They would have moderate success before they would go their separate ways.
