-The Snitch won a six-way dance with “The Mercenary” Graham Bell, “The Best In The Midwest” Nathen Edwards, Billy McNeil, “The American Bully” Kyle Hammer, and Ezra Zealous. Eliminations: Hammer pinned Zealous after the Kyledriver(stuff piledriver) (10:57). Bell pinned Hammer after a gourdbuster onto the knees (11:21). Edwards pinned McNeil after a modified Death Valley Driver (17:42). Bell pinned Edwards after a kneedrive curbstomp (20:04). Snitch rolled up Bell with a handful of tights for the final win (20:07).

-Tag Team Champions The Agents Of Chaos(Viktor Von Stein & Xavier Shadowz) d. “Lights Out” Adrian Surge & Jackal in a non-title match; Von Stein pinned Surge after he and Shadowz hit the fireman’s-carry Flapjack/Diamond Cutter combo (7:45).

–Outtkast d. Reilly MaGuire with the Case Study (6:33).

-”The Valedictorian” Keon Option d. Tony Esteem when Jimmi LaFleur‘s interference backfired, leading to Option winning with a modified crucifix on the mat (5:12).

-Jimmi LaFleur(w/ Tony Esteem) d. Camaro Jackson by blocking a re-entry sunset flip and hanging onto Esteem for illegal leverage (7:48).

-”The King Of Chaos” Ricky Cruz d. Brady James after the superkick (5:18). Cruz helped James to his feet afterwards, only to drop him with the Cruz Control(swinging fisherman buster).

–”The Empress Of Evil” Rahne Victoria d. Sophie King(w/ The Snitch) after a spinebuster to retain the Women’s Title (8:45).

–”The Caramel Bear” C.J. Shine d. Heavyweight Champion “The Wind Of Destruction” Makaze by DQ when Makaze choked Shine with a leather strap (9:09). Adrian Surge hit the ring with a strap of his own to run off the champion. Makaze brought out all of the roster’s rulebreakers as backup to surround the ring, but Surge had plenty of his own backup…and the entire roster had to separate the two as they brawled! This led to Surge challenging Makaze to a lumberjack strap match at the September 21st show in St. Louis…Makaze didn’t want to accept, but co-promoter Crystal Yount said the match would happen or she’d strip Makaze of the title!

Dynamo Pro at the Ready Room – Brandon Aarons Becomes the Champ – Ricky Cruz, Mike Outlaw and Jake Dirden Say Goodbye

The ring announcer were Chris Roedel, your assistant ring announcer was Luke Roberts, and your referee was Scott Ramsey.

Jackal vs. “The Caramel Bear” C.J. Shine: The fans were NOT fond of Shine, despite the fact that this was supposed to be an opener between fan favorites. Shine outwrestled Jackal in the early minutes of the match, leading to a danceoff that seemed to go in Jackal’s favor (if you asked the average person in the stands). Shine upset Jackal at the 4 Hands Brewery show last month, so this was a rematch from that particular encounter…in Jackal’s defense, he had just been through a tough matchup with Jake Dirden(the week prior) and Shine was fresh for that bout. Jackal rallied and went for the Killswitch #2 (turnbuckle-walk Tomakazi/Unprettier), but Shine blocked the move and threw him off. Jackal charged at Shine and got caught in a small package for the flash pin in 8:22.

“The Alternative” Ozzie Gallagher(sporting his new shorter hair) made his way to the ring; he had been M.I.A. since the mask-vs.-hair match with Makaze in mid-September. To say the least, his year didn’t turn out as he had planned…but he vowed to get his payback on both Makaze and The Bite Club(Rocket Mapache & Jackal) and to refocus his career in 2017. No match for Gallagher…perhaps next time.

Tag Team Champion “The Valedictorian” Keon Option(w/ Justin D’Air) vs. Rocket Mapache(w/ Jackal): Speaking of The Bite Club, the other half of the team was in action here. D’Air is still recovering from a recent knee injury. I hope to watch the D-1 Title match from last week in Wood River between Outtkast and Rocket; I heard great things about that matchup. Hopefully this will lead to a Tag Title feud between the teams…that part seems to naturally follow as Rocket & Jackal had several near-misses for the belts but never quite won them. The match could have easily gone either way, but Option took it with an axe kick in 6:33. More Mutual Respect(tm) occurred, but Jackal made it clear that they Wanted Da Belts(tm).

Outtkast vs. Makaze for the D-1 Title: Both guys have impressive championship resumes; both men were GCW Light Heavyweight Champions and Outtkast was GCW and Dynamo Tag Champ with “The Don Mega” Shorty Biggs. Makaze briefly held the NWA Missouri Title when it was the top belt in Dynamo Pro; literally on the show when they transitioned from that belt to the current Dynamo Heavyweight Title, he lost it back to K.C. Karrington. Both are veterans in the area and continue to plug away amidst a ton of younger guys, so they brought out the heavy artillery in this championship bout.

I’ve known Outtkast to take crazy amounts of punishment over the years and this was no exception; Makaze caught him with a Death Valley Driver onto the edge of the ring apron! Makaze tried to follow up with a plancha but the titleholder moved out of the way…then Outtkast went to the top rope for a corkscrew moonsault to the floor! Outtkast hit the floor with a thud that was audible throughout the building…ouch. Understandably it took both men some time to collect themselves, but they made it back into the ring and kept on going. Makaze nearly won with his signature Kyouhen(Sharpshooter) and Outtkast barely made it to the ropes. Makaze delivered a Death Valley Driver off the top rope(!) that left both men down…but out of nowhere, Outtkast connected with the Case Study to retain his title in 16:34! It was a tremendous matchup between two guys who I’ve known for most of their respective careers…yes, more Mutual Respect(tm) took place.

Brandon Espinosa vs. “The Incredible Primal Prodigy” Matt Kenway (Look At Him) for the Missouri Wrestling Revival Missouri Title: Surprisingly, Espinosa was the fan favorite in this matchup…both guys have played different roles in area promotions. One of Espy’s favorite tactics in recent months has been to emulate WWE finishers and sequences, so he tried to start off fast with two spears and a Jackhammer(a la Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series); Kenway escaped the Jackhammer setup and bailed out of the ring.

Targeting the arm has been one of Espinosa’s strategies in recent times, but Kenway attempted to use the same tactic against Espy. Kenway brought a chair into the ring and wedged it between the turnbuckles, but it never quite came into play during the matchup…darn you, Chekhov’s Folding Chair! (Thanks A-Top.) It took several tries, but Espinosa was finally able to lock on the cross-armbreaker…Kenway didn’t surrender, but Espy appeared to severely injury Kenway’s arm and the referee called for a stoppage in 18:40! It looked like Kenway’s elbow had been dislocated and he seemingly popped it back into place on the ring ropes…eep.

There would be no Mutual Respect(tm) HERE as Kenway snapped, bashing Espinosa repeatedly with the aforementioned chair(THERE’S our Chekhov’s Gun)…it would be Espy’s old tag team partner turned rival Ricky Cruz who would run off Kenway after the match. (In fact, Espinosa won the MWR Missouri Title from Cruz.) The two didn’t QUITE seem to be on friendly terms, but Cruz and Espy parted ways without incident.

“The King Of Chaos” Ricky Cruz vs. “The Intelligent Dirdey Monster” Jake Dirden: This was a farewell for both men for different reasons; Ricky is retiring at the end of the year and this was his last Midwest match. (He will face El Mesias, aka Mil Muertes, at Galli Lucha Libre in Chicago for his final bout.) Cruz came to the St. Louis area a few years ago for the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Alliance, then later competed for Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling and held their Classic Title. He would go on to compete for Dynamo Pro, holding their Heavyweight and Tag Team Titles(with Espinosa) as well as the MWR Missouri Title. These two have had many battles(eleven, per Ricky) and the feud did a lot to elevate Dirden in the eyes of the fans, propelling him to the Dynamo Pro Heavyweight and Tag Titles(with Jackal). He also appeared in Ring Of Honor’s Top Prospect Tournament in 2015, losing in the first round to eventual winner Donovan Dijak. Dirden is on his way to the NWL as “Jack Foster“, so this was his last match for DPW.

Ricky got streamers for his entrance and asked Dirden for a technical matchup so they could go out on a positive note…but it didn’t take long for the match to devolve into an all-out fight.

Both guys threw their biggest bombs for this final counter and neither would stay down for very long…it took a grand total of four superkicks for Cruz to finally score the decisive victory in 14:58!

Afterwards, Ricky and Jake both said their farewells as the locker room emptied to applaud their efforts!

Mike Outlaw vs. Brandon Aarons for the Heavyweight Title: These guys had a tough act to follow but they brought their A games; they’d crossed paths a few times in the past with Outlaw getting the upper hand in those bouts. They had a strong main-event matchup and the fans seemed to be slightly in favor of Outlaw (despite both men being fan favorites).

Outlaw’s Mafia Kick only got a two-count…then the High Noon(top-rope elbowdrop) only got a near-fall as well. Outlaw lost his composure (not a common thing for him) and brought a chair into the ring, going so far as to push the referee away when the official tried to stop him. Outlaw swung with the chair, but Aarons dodged and the chair rebounded off the top rope to smack Outlaw in the head. Aarons took advantage of the opportunity with a flurry of offense:

Go 2 Sleep, Hairflip(half-nelson) Suplex, and finally a Shining Wizard…and that earned Aarons the Dynamo Pro Heavyweight Title in 14:00!

Outlaw was distraught over the match outcome and grabbed the title belt away from the ref, but presented it to Aarons and raised his hand. After that, Outlaw dropped his own bombshell: He was leaving Dynamo Pro as well (for NWL)!
Outlaw said his farewells to the promotion and wrestlers who got him started in the business and the roster came out for another round of applause.

Espinosa Strikes at Dirden- Cruz III , The Professionals Upset High Level Enterprise

“The Don Mega” Shorty Biggs vs. “Young & Dangerous” Evan Morris: This stemmed from Morris’ turn last weekend as he named Shorty as one of the guys who “held him back” in the days of Metro East Championship Wrestling. Morris entered with Shawn Santel & Mauler McDarby by his side, so Shorty was accompanied by D-1 Champion Outtkast who ran them off…so that left the match as a one-on-one bout as it should have been.

After a competitive matchup, referee Patrick Hook was knocked down(the start of a rough night for him) and Morris brought a chair into the ring. Shorty got the chair away from Morris, but saw the referee was recovering and threw the weapon back to Morris, pretending he had been hit with it. Morris confronted the official and protested that he hadn’t hit Shorty with the chair, but Shorty rendered the point moot by rolling up Morris for the pin in 9:59.

“The Valedictorian” Keon Option, Justin D’Air, & “The Millenial” Danny Adams vs. Brandon Espinosa, “The Filipino Warrior” Elvis Aliaga, & Da’Marius Jones.

This was a fast-paced encounter that got a lot of time; the highlight move of the match was D’Air delivering an insane senton off the top rope onto a bunch of opponents on the floor! The finish saw the referee checking on the humanity outside the ring, totally missing Espinosa delivering a low blow on D’Air. After that, the brainbuster was academic and Espy got the win in 15:26.

Rocket Mapache vs. “The Alternative” Ozzie Gallagher: Gallagher had another ringside confrontation with Sadie Blaze as their ongoing issue continues; Blaze has been particularly sensitive about Gallagher’s disrespect regarding Rocket’s mask.

Gallagher actually stole Rocket’s mask a few months ago, but Rocket reclaimed it with help from his Bite Club partner Jackal.

Rocket was motivated in this matchup, but Gallagher kept using underhanded tactics and was obsessed with trying to remove the mask. That drew the ire of Blaze in the audience and Gallagher got sidetracked by his war of words with his former mentor.

That allowed Rocket to surprise Gallagher with a crossface chicken wing out of nowhere for the tapout in 6:28…but Gallagher attacked Rocket from behind and went for his mask again. Sadie had finally seen enough and jumped in the ring to confront Gallagher directly…he kicked him in the midsection before delivering a double-underhook suplex to send Gallagher into retreat move.

Sadie got the microphone and told Gallagher that he had a friend who knew a thing or two about masks in wrestling…a “Wind Of Destruction” was coming his way. It looks like we may be seeing the return of Makaze in the near future.

Jackal vs. C.J. Shine: Shine danced his way through his ring entrance and got a good reaction from the fans, but he wasn’t likely to beat out the longtime favorite Jackal in the popularity department. Shine had a competitive showing, one of his best to date, but Jackal picked up the victory with a frog splash in 5:55.

Mike Outlaw vs. Brandon Aarons: This promised to be a competitive battle between two of the top-ranked wrestlers in the Midwest. While it was a battle of fan favorites, Outlaw made some uncharacteristic moves such as attempting a pinfall with a single knee on the chest. Considering his change of attitude in alternate universes, I wonder if that’ll influence his character under the Dynamo banner?

The match could have easily gone either way and Aarons appeared to have the momentum in his favor, but recent rival Kevin Lee Davidson made his way to ringside. That distracted Aarons as he ascended the turnbuckles, giving Outlaw enough time to roll out of the way of the incoming double-stomp from the top rope. Outlaw delivered the Mafia Kick and that was enough to edge out the win in 9:24…despite the outside influence on the result, the two shook hands after the match was over.

High Level Enterprise (Jack Gamble & Jon Webb) vs. The Professionals (Shawn Santel & Mauler McDarby) for the Tag Team Titles: On the heels of retiring Eric Allen at the previous week’s Wood River show, Santel & McDarby finally had their shot at the belts.

They were really good foils for the flashier style employed by Gamble & Webb; I would compared them to NXT duos like Wesley Blake/Buddy Murphy and Scott Dawson/Dash Wilder in that regard. While it looked like the champs were on their way to another successful title defense, the official was knocked down…this was just NOT Patrick Hook’s night.

Santel brought the shillelagh into play and, despite a near-miscue, managed to coldcock Webb with the weapon. That brought Gamble to the rescue, but the rulebook was out the window with the referee down and out.

Gamble got a hold of the weapon and hit Santel with it, but McDarby had a backup plan: Brass knuckles!

He took Gamble out of the game with the knucks, then dragged the dazed Webb to his feet for a totally graituitous shot with the knuckles. 1-2-3 and we had NEWWWWW Tag Team Champions in 8:48! The titleholders took some time to gloat, then ran like the proverbial thieves in the night when Gamble & Webb gave chase…tremendous.

Outtkast vs. Kevin Lee Davidson for the D-1 Title: K.L.D. had been impressive and just got back from a successful tour of Europe. He’s held titles in the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Alliance and is the current Heavyweight Champion of Wrestling Invades America. Outtkast had to go aerial a bit more than usual due to the size difference, including his corkscrew moonsault dive from the top rope to the floor. He had trouble hitting his signature moves, though he did manage to deliver the Lost Cause (fireman’s-carry spinebuster) for a near-fall. K.L.D. nearly won a few times, but his second attempt at a corner cannonball missed the mark and Outtkast rolled him up for the pin in 9:24.

I’m sure there will be another day for the big man…

“Dirdey” Jake Dirden vs. “The King Of Chaos” Ricky Cruz for the Dynamo Pro and MWR Missouri Heavyweight Title. This didn’t take long to get out of hand as they fought out of the ring and brawled all over the building…Dirden rammed Ricky’s head into the wall and left a hole! They fought toward the merchandise tables and Cruz threw Dirden over the main table…thankfully they more or less spared the MWR table and my fries and soda.

They eventually made it back to the ring as the referee allowed some leeway, but Brandon Espinosa decided to get a closer look at the action…and both title belts at ringside. The fight spilled out of the ring AGAIN, leading to Cruz decking Espy when Dirden moved out of the way. The fight continued and both guys traded signature moves…Cruz hit the Cruz Control(swinging fisherman buster), but Espy pulled the ref out of the ring.

The ref called it a DQ win for Cruz in 13:36…but things were far from over between these three. Dirden gloated that Cruz would NEVER get another shot at his title…and Espy added injury to insult by attacking Ricky from behind with a chair.

After all of that,Cruz declared that if Dirden wouldn’t give him a title shot, he may just have to make sure Dirden doesn’t hold the title for much longer.

Dirden Overcomes Outlaw At Dynamo’s Anniversary Show by Patrick Brandmeyer

Editor’s note: What an amazing 8 years it has been for Dynamo Pro Wrestling. I have been honored to cover the promotion almost through the start and the promotion is only getting better. Jim and Crystal Yount currently runs the Dynamo Pro school that has offered young students the opportunity to succeed in the world of pro wrestling. Dynamo Pro Wrestling has been active with several fundraisers throughout their years while deliver exciting action throughout the Midwest. I would personally like to congrats everyone involved with Dynamo today and in the past for their success and wish them the very best in the near future.. Before we head off to check out the awesome action from their 8 year anniversary with a special write up from Patrick Brandmeyer, let us take a quick look at some of the great fans that got to the event early as I made my way to welcome them in that evening. Dynamo Pro Wrestling celebrated its eighth anniversary at the Stratford Inn in Fenton, Missouri on Saturday, June 13th with a great night of action. Mike Outlaw got his obligatory rematch against Champion Jake Dirden, but outside factors would decide the outcome once again…

The event began with the full roster at ringside for a ten-bell salute to the late “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Dusty’s charisma, gift of gab, and overall influence on the wrestling business were undeniable and it felt like a true icon of the industry had passed away…wrestlers and fans of all ages counted themselves among those who were fans of The Dream.

Executive Director Mark Bland attempted to explain his actions against Mike Outlaw the previous month. He claimed that he wanted to teach the rookie a lesson about taking advantage of opportunities…Outlaw refused to use a weapon in his title defense against Dirden, leading to Dirden knocking out the champion with the briefcase. Bland ordered the referee to count the pinfall rather than call for a disqualification, resulting in Outlaw being cheated out of the belt. Outlaw was not satisfied with Bland’s explanation, but Dirden(accompanied by Travis Cook and Alexander P. Dixon) inserted himself into the verbal battle to set the stage for the night’s main event.

The first match of the night saw the ladies of Dynamo Pro in action as “The Queen Of Chaos” Lucy Mendez took on the debuting Paloma Starr.

Starr had the advantage in fan support, but Lucy’s experience made the difference as she scored the victory with a hanging DDT.

After her match, Mendez personally introduced “The Filipino Warrior” Elvis Aliaga for his bout…he would go one-on-one with Outtkast of the Bum Rush Brothers.

The two had traded wins in the past so this was the proverbial rubber match between them. Aliaga distracted the referee at a key moment, allowing Mendez to trip Outtkast on the top rope and then slap him in the face. With Outtkast focused on Lucy, Elvis was able to roll him up with a handful of tights for the cheap victory.

“The King Of Chaos” Ricky Cruz

The manager of Champions Travis Cook leads Jayden Fenix of the Black Hand Warriors.

“The King Of Chaos” Ricky Cruz brought his IWRG Rey De Ring Championship to the ring for his bout with Jayden Fenix of the Black Hand Warriors. Fenix’s manager Travis Cook, intent on controlling all the gold in Dynamo Pro Wrestling, challenged Ricky to put his belt on the line…Cruz accepted on the grounds that Travis finally shut his mouth!

Fenix surprised the veteran champion on a few occasions and nearly scored the upset more than once. However, Cruz retained his title via tapout with a modified Anaconda Vice.

The Bite Club made their way to the ring as Rocket(accompanied by Jackal) took on “The Millenial” Danny Adams in singles competition.

Rocket & Jackal had fallen short against the Black Hand Warriors in the previous month’s Tag Team Title match, but rebounded to upset the Bum Rush Brothers at Off Broadway and were looking to continue their momentum. For his part, Adams had been establishing himself as a top contender in recent months…he controlled a good portion of this matchup by focusing on Rocket’s leg. Rocket rallied, but missed an aerial move and Adams capitalized with a flying Codebreaker off the second rope for the three-count.

Payback

Justin D’Air & Keon Option were psyched for their Tag Team Title shot at the Black Hand Warriors, entering the ringside area with a special Straps Down University-themed entrance. The two rookies had been allies of Mike Outlaw in recent months in his wars with the Travis Cook Organization and hoped to derail their momentum with a big victory on this night. Michael Magnuson & Dave DeLorean had the edge in experience both individually and as a cohesive unit, making it an uphill battle for the upstart challengers. D’Air was isolated from his partner for several minutes, but Option finally tagged into the fray and his team seized the momentum. D’Air launched himself off the top rope into a 450 Splash on DeLorean, but Travis Cook distracted the referee from seeing the potential pinfall. That allowed Magnuson to bring a chain into the ring, but D’Air got it away from him and knocked him out with it…the referee turned around and made the three-count, seemingly crowning new Tag Team Champions!

However, Travis and Alexander Dixon protested the decision due to the use of the chain…and when the referee found the foreign object on D’Air’s person, he reversed the decision and awarded the disqualification victory to the Black Hand Warriors.

Shorty Biggs

After Outtkast and Aliaga’s clash earlier in the show, their tag team partners did battle as Shorty Biggs took on Brandon Espinosa (accompanied by Lucy Mendez). Shorty was intent on avenging his partner’s tainted defeat while Espy was hoping to make it a clean sweep of the Bum Rush Brothers. Lucy got involved in this matchup as well, but it finally backfired as Espinosa knocked Lucy off the ring apron by mistake. Biggs hit the Shortcut for the victory, then carried Mendez to the backstage area.

Black Hand Warriors Dave DeLorean is under this fans skin and the bell has not even rang.

The ringside area was crowded with humanity as the night’s main event began. Heavyweight Champion “Dirdey” Jake Dirden had Travis Cook, Alexander Dixon, and all three Black Hand Warriors on his side. Mike Outlaw was backed up by Justin D’Air and Keon Option, plus Executive Director Mark Bland was at ringside to observe the action…with all the combustible elements in one place, it didn’t take long for the powder keg to ignite. Outlaw rallied against the champion earlier and landed the High Noon top-rope elbowdrop, but the Warriors stormed the ring to break up the pin and everyone brawled. The referee made the decision to eject the extra wrestlers rather than call for an early disqualification…leaving only Cook and Bland at ringside.

Outlaw was intent on proving that he could take the big man down on his own…he felt he didn’t need extra help or foreign objects to accomplish that. If he was unable to win, he’d have to work his way back up the ladder of contention. Dirden dominated with his size and power for a while, but Outlaw kept finding ways to outmaneuver the champion. The young challenger hit a second High Noon and seemed to have the title won for a second time…but this time it was Mark Bland who broke up the pin attempt. Bland repeated his message about learning from his “experience” and seizing opportunities…in this case, it would be Dirden would take advantage of the situation, catching Outlaw in the Asiatic Spike from behind.

Dirden powered his opponent down to the mat but Outlaw refused to surrender; however, Bland used his executive influence and ordered the bell to be rung, declaring Dirden the winner by “submission”.

“YOU’RE FIRED

It seemed like the show was over, but Dynamo co-promoter Crystal Yount ordered Bland back to the ringside area. She angrily told him that the fans deserved a better ending to the anniversary show than that…so she sent them home happy by declaring to Bland: “YOU’RE FIRED!” Bland was outraged and had to be physically escorted out of the building by ringside security…capping off a wild night in Fenton for Dynamo Pro’s eighth anniversary!

Dynamo Pro Champion Mike Outlaw vs Brandon Espinosa on Feb 7th in Fenton, Missouri. Espinosa will finally get his title shot. Will he join Dynamo Pro Club Elite consisting of Ricky Cruz and Jake Dirden as the only other competitors to have held both Dynamo Pro Championships? Not if Mike Outlaw has anything to say about it. Outlaw has worked hard to achieve Dynamo Pro greatness and has vowed to be a fighting champion and intends on having his hand raised at the end of every night as THE Dynamo Pro Champion.
