Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 5, 2011

By Brian Kelley

MMWA-SICW and promoter Herb Simmons will be giving you, the fans a Christmas show that you will not soon forget. First he has sent word that as a holiday gift for fans of women wrestling, there will be a debut at SICW of two of the best today going at it one on one.

Photobucket

It will be ST Louis’s own and arguably the best female wrestler to come out of the Midwest since Penny Banner and there is  no doubtshe is  the most popular star in St Louis today, Thats right  “Your souls Tormentor” MsChif will debut for MMWA-SICW.

Photobucket
Fans young and old, are thrilled to see MsChif in action, can Serenity be a scrooge and get a victory over one of the very best females in the world?

Her opponent will be rising female star Serenity.

Photobucket

This will mark only the second time since these two have met. The first was March 27, 2010 at HVW during a tag match as Serenity teamed up with Florida star Jessika Haze in a losing effort against MsChif and the Midwest Sweetheart Santana G.

The experts are excited about this match up and feel as if Serenity, who at that time during their first match was very new to ring   and not ready for MsChif . She has improved her game, to be not only be in a match with MsChif, but able to capture the biggest win in her career this Saturday night.

There has been no doubt that the name Serenity has been the talk of the Midwest in Central Illinois in 2011 ,  and many feel thst om 2012  it may be a year the year Serenity in the female division.

We were able to catch up with MsChif on her match this coming Saturday December 10th in East Carondelet , Illinois.

Fans at the MMWA-SICW in East Carondelet will be treated to a rocking and bruising Christmas as Ricky Cruz looks to get retribution on Ron Powers this Saturday. Fans last month got to see one of the most brutal beat down ever in MMWA-SICW history.

Let’s look back at a small recap from the last recap at MWR Mayhem in East Carondelet as Ricky Cruz feels the wrath of Ron Powers- World War 3 is just beginning.

Cruz admitted that he centered his efforts on the St. Louis area because it was the base for Powers. When Powers worked in Puerto Rico several years ago, according to Cruz, Powers used his piledriver and other assorted violent tactics to sideline several wrestlers – one of whom was Cruz’ older brother. That brother suffered neck damage and still has pain even after curtailing his career. Cruz swore to get revenge on Powers, especially after seeing Powers used a piledriver against Dave Vaughn on the floor Oct. 15.

Cruz promised to be “Powers’ judge, jury and executioner.”

This brought Powers to the ring.Ron denied knowing about Cruz’ brother. He also graphically described being a young kid with a big reputation alone in Puerto Rico, billed as the protégé of Bruiser Brody, fighting off attacks from unexpected sources and pulling out the stops in every match. He added that he had changed, was now a father of three himself and only carried on as a Wildman to satisfy the fans and promoter Herb Simmons, along with longtime mentor Larry Matysik. He apologized to Cruz, said he was ready to quit, would give Cruz the Classic title, and if he had injured the brother was sincerely sorry and wrong.

To see what happen next please click here. ( Fans with a weak stomach be prepared for the images of the aftermath is very graphic.

MWR was able to catch up with Ryan Cruz this weekend who had this warning to the CCW Champion Ron Powers.

Do not miss this historic night of action, December 10th in East Carondelet Illinois for a Christmas celebration Christmas style.

March 26th IWA Mid-South Photo Recap Sabu vs Prince Ali plus Ryan Phoenix vs Jaysin Strife.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on April 11, 2010

By Brian “Flair” Kelley

MWR fans a week prior to March 26 the real world was kicking me in the rear hard and I knew that I was going to be covering the High Voltage Wrestling show that Saturday but the weekend could not come soon enough. When my good friend Keny asked for me to ride with him to IWA Mid-south in Bellevue Illinois on that Friday there was no way I was going to be able to get off work on time to get to ST Louis to ride with him, so I asked for a quick day off from the boss to get away so I wouldn’t lose my job. The trip was well worth it.

Six hours on the road there I really had no clue who was on the card other than Kahagas, The Hooligans and Ryan Phoenix who I have been dying to see and ECW original Sabu. When I got their I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of my favorites Jaysin Strife would be in action as well as my friend Donnie Peppercricket.

Not only would I get to see Phoenix for the first time another wrestler who has been on my checklist to see would be in action with Prince Ali taking on Sabu. This would also be my first chance to check out Nick Cage, Sal Thomaselli and Devon Moore. The Midwest sweetheart Santana G took on her rival Jessika Haze while Neil Diamond Cutter and Matt Cage tore each other apart.

I would like to thank Keny for the offer to check out this exciting show and IWA-Mid South for their hospitality.

NBWA” New Beginnings ” January 11 recap

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 23, 2009

By Rich Dalton

To begin the show, Jason Vendetta makes his way to the ring and demands a rematch against DaCobra, who had defeated Vendetta on Dec. 6th for the Alberta J. Murray Memorial Championship in a Ladder Match. Vendetta claimed that he was screwed out of his trophy by special guest referee Angelo Santelli. Santelli delivered a “Sky High” spine buster from atop the ladder on Vendetta, but only after Vendetta used the banned flipping pile driver, “The Detenator” on DaCobra. The Lead Council to the Board of Directors, Jonathon Castle said that Vendetta was not going to get a rematch, and furthermore DaCobra hadn’t even arrived at the arena as of yet. So, in a show of protest Vendetta sat in the middle of the ring and said the show would not start until he was granted his rematch, but Mr. Castle assure Vendetta that the show WAS going to begin!

Lovely Miss Amanda announced the first match of the afternoon as being for the NBWA Mid-West Championship, and would be the champion, Wild Bill accompanied to the ring by Brandi Harris vs former NBWA Heavyweight Champion, Eric Ruffington. Ruffington and Wild Bill, not knowing what to think of Vendetta still sitting in the middle of the ring began their match. During the opening moments, it was clear that Vendetta wasn’t going to leave the ring after Bill and Ruffington locked up, and Jason Vendetta was caught in between them, in frustration, Bill threw Vendetta out of the ring, only to have him return and reclaim his spot in the center of the ring. Bill and Ruffingon continued their match trying to wrestle around Vendetta but that proved to be easier said than done. In the end, Eric Ruffington was the winner of the match(with a little help from Jason Vendetta)and the new NBWA Mid-West Champion!

Winner by pinfall, and new NBWA Mid-West Champion Eric Ruffington!

Following the match, Vendetta reitereated that he wasn’t leaving the ring until he got his rematch! Who should come to the ring but NBWA Heavyweight /Heritage Champion, “Bloody” Harker Dirge! Harker says that he, like the NBWA fans are tired of listening to Vendetta’s whining and said that since he didn’t have an opponent lined up for the afternoon, and wanted to get a paycheck this week, he challenged Vendetta to a match.

The second match of the afternoon was a Gauntlet Match featuring Issan Hadeev, with a special stipulation that if Issan lost against any of his 4 opponents he would have to sing The national Anthem. Issan’s first opponent was Jordan “Shorty” Vandel, who was making his NBWA debut. Unfortunately for Jordan, it was a short lived debut, Issan had won match #1.

For match #2 Issan’s opponent was Christian Rose, who was also making his NBWA debut, and just like Jordan, didn’t last very long against an angry “Arabian Assassin”.Match #3 for Hadeev was against Nicky “The Weasel” Mankotti. Weasel fared far better than the two previous opponents, but ultimately it was the same result, Issan had beaten Weasel in the 3rd match with “The Camel Clutch”. Finally Issan Hadeev’s 4th opponent for the day was “Da Best Kept Secret” D’Andre King. This match was the most competative of the gauntlet, it started out with Issan and D’Andre testing each others strength, and then they took turns with running shoulder blocks, but neither man would budge. We saw a couple of big suplex’s from D’Andre, and both men each hit a spinebuster on the other, but in the end Issan was victorious in match #4 following a “Jihad” neckbreaker.

Winner: Issan Hadeev

The next match of the afternoon was the very first NBWA women’s match, featuring Brandi Harris vs Jessika Haze. It was a great match for “Little Sis”, considering she won the match, but it was the aftermath that everyone was talking about . After Brandi’s big win in her debut, Wild Bill joined her in the celebration and in a real shocker, Brandi dropped to her knees and nailed Bill with an uppercut to the groin, and then got on the mic and told everyone what a looser Bill was!

Winner by pinfall: Brandi Harris

Up next, Mr. Castle came back to the ring to make the announcement that due to Simply Divosi’s broken clavical that he suffered in an ATV accident over the holidays, the NBWA No-Limits Championship was going to be up for grabs in this next match. The match was between Nick Cuttler, and “The Apex” Blake Steel. Steel made his way to the ring preceded by Anderson Rhodes, and Eric Ruffington, but what came as a shock was that Blake had asked Anderson and Eric to leave ringside, Blake said that he wanted to win the title on his own. This pleased the crowed, who was rather oddly cheering for Blake for the entire match. And what a match it was, it saw both competitors get near falls, and multiple submission holds. In the end Nick Cutler was victorious!

Winner by pinfall, and new NBWA No-Limits Champion: Nick Cutler

After a short intermission, we get back to the action with a NBWA Tag team Title match between “The Worlds Greatest Masked Tag Team” vs the team of Jeff Harris and Aaron Matthews. It was a fast paced, action packed match that saw yet another betrayal. During the closing moments of the match, a fatigued Cheapshot McGrot was attempting to make a tag to his partner, but Cyclone refused the tag, backing away from the corner, signaling that he wasn’t getting in the match leaving Cheapshot to fend for himself. “Jeff and Aaron” then won the match when Aaron Matthews hit a Shooting Star Press on Cheapshot and then got the 1..2..3!

Winner’s and new NBWA tag Team Champions” Jeff and Aaron”
Following the match Cyclone helped celebrate the win with Matthews and Harris

Next up was the debut of “The Japanese Nightmare” Kahagas, and hi opponent was the 2008 Alberta J. Murray Memorial Champion DaCobra. For those who didn’t see this match you missed a vicious man in action, you can see why Kahagas is called “The Japanese Nightmare”, it not often that you see DaCobra manhandled the way he was in the opening minutes of the match, literally being tossed around like a ragdoll! Following a brief timeout from DaCobra to regroup he re entered the ring using his speed and quickness to combat Kahagas rather than strength. The rest of the match featured quick kicks from DaCobra, and Kahagas always seemed to match DaCobra kick for kick. One advantage Kahagas had was his sickening chops, he must have hit half a dozen bone chilling chop on DaCobra during the early goings of the match. In the final moments of the match Kahagas had DaCobra in the far corner of the ring, and hit a massive headbutt the the chest, and then began to unleash yet another series of vicious chops on DaCobra when DaCobra hit the mat and rolled Kahagas up in a small package for the 3 count.

Winner by pinfall: DaCobra

Following the match the NBWA crowd gave Kahagas a huge round of applause and chanted “Please Come Back”.

Next up was a tag team match between the team of Cecil Cerveza and “Dangerous” Drew Thomas, vs a team called “The Blackhearts” who were two VERY large men who were accompanied to the ring by “TNT” Keny G. Despite being the smaller of the two teams Cecil and Drew took all that the Blackhearts could give them, and then some, in the end though it was a bit of trickery that won the match for The Blackhearts. It looked as though Cecil had the match under control when he had one of the Blackhearts down, and Cecil turned his head for a moment and the Blackhearts pulled a switch-a-roo, while referee Tally was busy with Keny G. Cecil went to the top rope for a diving headbutt, but the fresh Blackheart rolled out of harms way, and that lead to a victory for The Blackhearts”

Winner by pinfall: The Blackhearts

Finally, for the main event of the evening, it was the NBWA heavyweight Champion “Bloody” Harker Dirge vs “#1” Jason Vendetta, who was being accompanied to the ring by “Serenity” who we had previously know as Brandi Harris. During the early goings it was all Harker Dirge, that is until some help showed up for Jason Vendetta. Jeff Harris and Aaron Matthews came to the ring to help even the odds for Vendetta. While the referee was busy dealing with Serenity, Aaron had set up a steel chair in the corner of the ring for Vendetta to use to his advantage, and that’s exactly what happened. Vendetta used Harkers Head as a battering ram right into the steel chair, but Harker just wouldn’t quit, kicking out of the pin at a 2 count. It was another foreign object though that spelled the demise of BHD. While referee Tally was busy with Jeff and Aaron Serenity had gotten a pipe wrench from underneath the ring and slid it into Vendetta who then used the wrench to clock Harker right in the temple knocking him out cold. Vendetta went for the cover and got the 3 count!

Winner and new NBWA Heavyweight Champion: Jason Vendetta.

Serenity& Jason Vendetta (The NBWA Heavyweight Champion)

Serenity & Jason Vendetta (The NBWA Heavyweight Champion)

What a day it was at The New Breed Gym, four title changes in all, two betrayal’s, and six brand new faces in the ring!

We welcome everyone to join us on Saturday, February 7th for “Pick Your Poision” begining at 2:00 PM. Go to NBWA Myspace for more info.

See you there!

HVW ‘Construction of Corruption’ Jan. 10 arena report.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 21, 2009

By Kari Williams

With a crowd of 131 at the River’s Edge Complex in Granite City, IL, High Voltage Wrestling put on their first show of the new year on Jan. 10. Filled with surprise matches, a St. Louis wrestling legend and a bold statement from TNT Keny G regarding his cage match that night, this was one show that left fans begging for more.

Prior to the 7:30 bell time, Luke Roberts announced that a special bonus match would take place pitting Max Archer and Cory Pillman against Cabal and Michael Morbid. Archer and Pillman brought the fight to Cabal and Morbid, who made his debut in this match with his manager Alicia. Despite their best attempts, Morbid and Cabal lost the bout, and then Morbid attempted to take his rage out on his competitors. At one point, Morbid held a member of the opposing team for a chair shot delivered by Alicia, but Alicia inadvertently hit Morbid, seemingly causing him to snap.

TNT Keny G then came to ringside and stated that if the team of himself and Wicked lost the cage match that he would retire from active competition. He then brought attention to the Wrestling at the Chase legend, Larry Matysik. “Future” Donovan Ruddick felt the need to make his presence felt, as he and The Magic Man interrupted Keny G and announced Dingo as the replacement competitor for the injured Ruddick. This prompted Keny G to announce that Dingo and Ruddick will face each other at some point in the future (no pun intended).

HVW Champion Donovan Ruddick, Dingo and The Magic Man

Mark Smart then came to ringside and claimed that he wanted to wrestle Dingo. This prompted a brawl to erupt in which Smart and Dingo battled, then Kahagas and Mephisto emerged to make their respective presences felt.

In the first Livewire match of the night, “Spoiled” Steven Kennedy took on Gary Jay in a stellar performance. From their energetic entrances to the action going on in the ring, these two men delivered a high-flying bout that had fans on the edge of their seats. Hold for hold, Kennedy and Jay matched each other in skill, intensity and athleticism. Jay ended the contest with a decisive pin and then proclaimed that he and Kennedy just had the match of their lives.

Jessika Haze

Jessika Haze

Following two of the most charismatic wrestlers in the Midwest, Jessika Haze made her St. Louis area debut against New Breed Wrestling Alliance’s Serenity. The two women wrestled a fairly even match up, with neither cementing a definite advantage over the other. However, Haze was able to cover Serenity for the three count.

One of the mysterious Blackhearts take it to #1 Brett Young early in the match.

One of the mysterious Blackhearts take it to #1 Brett Young early in the match.

The Blackhearts took on Mark Sterling and “Number One” Brett Young due to the fact that Sterling’s partner, Darrien Sanders, had a broken foot. Sterling and Young began the match poking fun at the Blackhearts for wearing masks, and they put on mask of their own that Sterling provided. Soon, however, both teams began working towards the goal of securing a victory. Young and Sterling used their pound-and-ground style to combat the more unorthodox style of The Blackhearts. Regardless of not teaming together on a regular basis, Young and Sterling worked surprisingly well as a cohesive unit. Sterling got the pin after Young connected with a leg drop from the top rope.

Who is this wild and crazy masked man they call Rebel lucha?

After the intermission, “Thee” Brandon Espinosa took on Rebel Lucha, but before the two even locked up, Espinosa exclaimed, “Rebel Lucha? I thought I was wrestling Jeremy Wyatt!” Lucha and Espinosa had an impressive match with multiple pinfalls and reversals. Neither man gained enough of an advantage to cover the other for the full three count. With three minutes remaining, Espinosa and Lucha each stepped up their game, but the match ended in a time-limit draw as Espinosa’s tag team partner, Brandon Aarons, ran to the ring from the crowd and attacked Lucha.

Reigning Six-Man Cup Champions Aaron Matthews, Cecil Cerveza and stand-in member Jeff Harris defended the cup against The Bandana Mafia of Evan Gelistico, Pierre Abernathy and Davey Vega. With the fans solely behind the ‘Mafia, they had the advantage before the first move was made. Matthews, Cerveza and Harris beat down on Vega the majority of the match up with Cerveza and Matthews both taking risks and flying from the top turnbuckle. After a lenghty battle, Vega finally made the tag to Gelistico who tore the competition apart. After a double-team by Gelistico and Abernathy, Gelistico won the match for the ‘Mafia.

Aaron Matthews goes for some exciting high flying move on Evan Gelistico.

A match of the year contender took place next when Kahagas and Dingo went at it. These two tremendous athletes battled both in and out of the ring, with neither giving an inch. With Ruddick and Magic Man at ringside, Dingo had all the protection in the world. Despite Kahagas’ determination matching Dingo’s, the extra presences surrounding the ring more than likely led to his defeat. Ironically, Dingo seemed enraged after the bout and stormed around the building throwing chairs into the ring, and he even went so far as to carry a trashcan to the ring and dump it out. Still filled with fury, Dingo made his way through the crowd to the concessions, launched a roll of paper towels at Kahagas and yelled, “Clean up your act!”

MWR has just heard from the HVW management that the High Voltage Wrestling Champion Donovan Ruddick will be unable to defend his title this Saturday in Granite City IL due to an injury suffered this past weekend in LWA against Mark Sterling .

This will have severe ramifications for the The Magic Man. Last month at High Voltage Wrestling, The Magic Man had turned on his protégé Kahagas to assist “The Future” Donovan Ruddick win the title.

Now the Magic Man’s worst nightmare has now happened, the Japanese Nightmare Kahagas will be hell bent on destroying the man who betrayed him and the Magic Man is without his Champion. I was able to catch up with the Magic Man to ask him who would he get to replace the most powerful man in the Midwest “the Future” Donovan Ruddick?

He had this to say “I am the most powerful man in the Midwest and it didn’t take me long at all to find the man who is capable of beating anyone on the planet, Dingo. Dingo is able to beat you in many many ways, he can tap you out or hit you so many times with his blazing speed you might just think its magic. Kahagas this weekend in Granite City you will want to do a disappearing act of your own.”

Also of note High Voltage Wrestling star Rick Stone will not be in action due to injuries unknown at this time.
