Eldon, Missouri– After another great year of learning for aspiring wrestlers at the annual wrestling camp led by the upcoming 2013 inductee to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Harley Race, Pro Wrestling NOAH and WWE representative Steven Regal.
The WLW Champion OTT was able to retain the title much to the chagrin to the Black Hand Warriors as he heads to Richmond, Missouri this Saturday Night to defend the title with special guest Lex Luger and great night of wrestling as Steve Regal and Ace Steel II lived up to the hype and much more.
The first big news coming from the 2012 camp is that the former WLW Champion Jason Jones will return to Japan’s Pro Wrestling Noah the first of 2013.
Jones moved to Eldon Missouri from North Carolina to train with the 8-time NWA Worlds Champion Harley Race to pursue his dream to be the best that he could be. This marks his second tour of Japan with Pro Wrestling NOAH, proving that his dedication is paying off.
During the week at the camp Jones was very instrumental in assisting the students in improving their skills, while teaching proper techniques and safety, first and foremost.
We are happy to say that in the past Jones has been a supporter and friend of MWR and we are thrilled to see him earn this tour for his hard work.
Look out in the near future for a sneak peak of the 2012 camp thanks to the hospitality of World League Wrestling and other top news coming out of the camp right here at Missouri Wrestling Revival.com, Your #1 source for pro wrestling news in the Midwest.

In the 80’s wrestling was on fire, and there were no wrestlers that were more loved than the Fritz Von Erich’s sons, Kerry, Kevin, David, Mike and Chris Von Erich. Though their home was the Texas promotion World Class Championship Wrestling, fans across the country and around the world fell in love with the Von Erich’s. Fans cheered , shouted and cried at times as they took on such villains as the Freebirds, “Gentleman” Chris Adams, “Gorgeous” Gino Hernandez, One Man Gang as well as having wrestling the great manager Gary Hart trying to take down the Von Erichs.
One of the greatest moments in wrestling history was on May 6, 1984, when Kerry Von Erich defeated “Nature Boy” Ric Flair in a historic match, in front of over 45,000 fans at Texas Stadium to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Kerry’s victory was a tribute to his brother David, who had died three months earlier and for whom the event, the David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions, was named.
In their prime the Von Erich’s were the Beatles, Elvis and Jim Hendrix combined. Loved not only in the states but their impact on wrestling in Japan is still felt today.
Last fall, the fans around the Midwest were thrilled when Harley Race announced that participating during the annual WLW, WWE and Japans Pro Wrestling NOAH was the recent inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame Kevin Von Erich would be appearing.
During the week of the camp MWR was a guest of WLW and Pro Wrestling NOAH as Kevin along with WWE’S Steven Regal and Ricky Steamboat. The three stars along with Race taught the young wrestlers around the country who were fortunate to take the week long camp to learn with three of the top wrestling promotions around the world.
During the annual camp show, the fans came up to MWR with smiles that would remind you of a young child at Christmas time as they spoke about the kindness of one Kevin Von Erich. Sometime you meet your heroes that you grow up with and they live up to your expectations. It was an easy recap to do when so many fans left happy meeting Kevin, Harley, Steamboat and being entertained by the stars of WLW with a stacked card that featured a main event match between Steven Regal vs. Ace Steel.
The Pro Wrestling NOAH website reported earlier this year on January 14 that Kevin’s sons Marshall and Ross Von Erich who had participated in the WLW/Pro Wrestling NOAH/WWE camp in the fall, were on their way to Japan to work on their skills at the Pro Wrestling Noah dojo.
NOAH GM Ryu Nakata and USA and foreign affairs representative Ken Hirayama visited Kevin Von Erich & his family at their home. Kevin was pleased to meet with Ryu and showed him as his boys Ross & Marshall works out at their gym and teaching those fundamentals of the professional wrestling.
Kevin Von Erich and his sons arrived safely at Haneda Int’l Airport. As they announced their participation for NOAH Development program officially at the live coverage atNTV’s building media park along with many fans and other media outlets.
Ross & Marshall commented as they are very excited and honored to be able to join the NOAH organization and can’t wait to start training .Kevin commented as he was very pleased to have his 2 sons joining NOAH to start building the basic foundation.

Marshall and Ross are both natural athletes as Ross was highly respected as he won several fitness and weight lifting competitions as well as coach’s awards and recognition for his performance throughout high school and college. Marshall excelled at both football and discus, being named to the Kauai Interscholastic Federation All-Star team as a wide receiver and breaking a 12 year old island-wide record in discus.
When I met Marshall and Ross, I knew of their athletic background as I was honored to interview their dad who proudly spoke of them. When I saw them they were soft spoken and while I saw them in the ring during the camp I could tell they were timid and shy hitting the ropes.
So when I received word from the offices of WLW that Ross and Marshall were to make their wrestling debut in April in the Midwest, I was excited about the opportunity to take photos of the Von Erich’s first matches. To be a man and to be honest with you, I was not expecting much from them as far as ring work as they were so new.
Boy was I wrong. Pro Wrestling NOAH in a few months had them in amazing shape and more than ready for their debut. Their first night in Sedan, Kansas they would fall down in defeat against the WLW Champion “The Prince” Jason Jones and the 2011 MWR Future Star recipient Brian Breaker. A great crowd and Pro Wrestling NOAH videotaping the matches for them to be broadcast in Japan there is no doubt that the pressure was on the young boys.
MWR fans may know that Jones and Breaker has been at war with each other for the WLW title but with the newcomers of the Von Erich’s invading their home turf, they seem to have joined together to keep them from winning their first match.
With the taste of defeat from two of the finest young wrestlers in the country, Marshall and Ross had to regroup, oh how I would of loved to have been in the car from Sedan, Kansas to Richmond, Missouri while Kevin gave his two sons advice on how to improve their chances to take down the team as good as Jones and Breaker.
The night in Richmond started out rocky for the youngest Von Erich, Marshall who went one on one against the former WLW Champion and a man who has made his way last year for a tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH Brian Breaker along with former WWE Star Trevor Murdock. Though Marshall was in phenomenal shape, Breaker still had the edge with his power and size, but the young Von Erich used his speed to have Breaker in trouble.

Yet, out from the back came the sneaky snake Jason Jones, who had come to ringside and interfered just long enough to give Breaker the chance to steal the victory.
The WLW Champion “The Prince” Jason Jones sneaks attack Marshall to allow Breaker to steal the win. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
Brian Breaker and Jason Jones 2, the Von Erich brothers zero.
The stage was set at that time for as the Von Erich’s challenged Breaker and Jones to a rematch in the main event of the evening.
History was made in April in the Midwest as fans got to witness one of the very first tags in the history of the 3rd generation Von Erich’s as Marshall tags in his older brother Ross. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
The building seemed too erupted, the action seem to be at a furious pace from the start.
Beautiful dropkick from Ross lets Jones know that he and Breaker were in for a fight. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
Then it happened Marshall locked on the fearsome “Von Erich” Claw on the champ Jones, the fan in me almost shouted in joy as I seemed to have been transported back in 1983 but thankfully, I was able to regain my composure to take photos and remember that I was there in a professional capacity. Jones may be evil at times but he can wrestle and by no means is not an idiot did not hesitate to find a way out of the Claw before Marshall had it completely locked in.
With the Von Erich’s on fire, Breaker and Jones used their experience and a little cheating to get the edge it was looking bleak for the young Von Erich’s.
Brian Breaker stands at 6’3 so I would guess that Ross goes on a scary 8 foot high drop to the mat. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
The young fans screamed with all their might to encourage the third generation stars to fight back against the odds and dirty deeds being dished out by Breaker and Jones.
Pro Wrestling NOAH is known for their hard hitting impact moves. Here Ross uses one punishing kick after another on Breaker. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
Just as fast and furious the match had started the end was about to unravel for the WLW Champ Jones and Breaker as Ross delivered bruising kicks left and right, while Marshall locked on the Claw on Breaker then hoisted him up for a slam…
Yet Jones made the save and threw Marshall outside the ring and got the edge on Ross and was prepared for a big move when Marshall was able to get away from Breaker as the two had been going at each other at ringside. Marshall delivered a dropkick on Jones from the back allowing Ross to use the leverage for a roll up as the referee hit the mat 1-2-3.
The Champ felt confident that he had the match well in hand, but Marshall delivers a dropkick from behind and Ross took advantage of it for the big win as the flashbulbs from other cameras went off to catch the exciting moment. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
History had been made in Richmond, Missouri!!!!!

Pro Wrestling NOAH caught it on tape to take back home to the millions of fans in Japan ,both MWR and Pro Wrestling NOAH were at ringside to photograph the historic moment while HOF Kevin Von Erich and Harley Race watching attentively as Marshall and Ross captured their first win in their career.
Marshall and Ross will continue their training at Harley Race’s Wrestling Academy for the next few months to go along with their impressive training at NOAH.
MWR Fans I urge you to take each and every opportunity to see the Von Erich sons in action while you can in the Midwest. WLW is always worth the price of admission but you will want to say you were there when Von Erich mania began.
Ross and Marshall along with their dad Kevin will be action this Friday and Saturday night in Warrensburg, Missouri and Eldon, Missouri along with the rest of the stars of WLW, Jones, Breaker, Steve Fender, Ryan Drago, Jeff Strong, Jack Gamble, Stacey O’Brien, the Great Cheyenne, Britton Tucker, Elvis Aliaga plus much more.
The two times MWR Female Wrestler of the Year Stacey O’Brien celebrated her birthday in Richmond, Missouri but her WLW ladies title was in jeopardy as the Great Cheyenne came very close from taking it from her the night before and on this night. Can O’Brien keep the demented Great Cheyenne from taking her belt this weekend? (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
Remember fans that this Saturday in Eldon, Missouri WLW will be honoring the 8-time NWA World Champion with a special Harley Race Night.
We hope to see you there.

Sure you know about the past MWR Wrestlers of the Years and champions at each promotions but what young stars should you be on the lookout for this coming year. Here we give you 12 for 2012 for you to be on the lookout for. Some are close to be among the choices for Wrestlers of the year real soon while others are knocking at the door to be a force in the future.
As far as the wrestlers who didn’t make the list. Use this article as motivation to outshine all twelve of these fine young talents in 2012.
Let the fun begin in the squared circles around the Midwest.
1) Serenity
Serenity is known for wowing the crowd with her dazzling colors and beautiful smile. Underneath the surface, however, lies the heart and desire of a true professional wrestler. Fear is only a four letter word to this young lady as she isn’t afraid to mix it up with anyone, male or female, inside the squared circle. Anyone who has stood across from her in the ring will soon tell you that Serenity means business and if you don’t believe them, try it. You’ll find out for yourself.
Outlook: How much impact that she will have in 2012 in the MWR coverage area depends on how often she wrestles in the 15 promotions that we cover as promoters in up north have taken notice. Her looks has caught the eyes of promoters and her work rate and desire to be the best has shown moments of greatness at times. She finished the year wrestling at SICW against MsChif in the St Louis area for the first time in years.
Here is the kicker, this talented young wrestler is only twenty years of age and wrestled MsChif at the young age of 18. That’s right, she is only twenty, and has charisma to spare. She will only be getting better and looks to be one of the top stars in wrestling for many years to come. Look for her to make her way in SHIMMER sooner than later.
2) Christian Rose
Rose had a very good 2011 but everyone at MWR feels as if the best is yet to come. A current AAPW Tag Team Champion with Matt Cage have been active at IWAU, NMW , SLA and AAPW. Quality promo skills keeps the fans attention while his in ring action keeps him in every match. Rose could easily be a MWR Wrestler of the year down the road as he has been gaining respect from his peers and a threat to his opponents.
3) Bull Bronson
Bronson may be raw, let me say that again Bull is very raw but very few men in the Midwest is as big as the HUGE AAPW star. He won a big 5-man scramble match at AAPW’S Main event and was very impressive as he picked up the win on AAPW regular Playboy Paul Rose.
A manager in this stage of his career could do wonders for him in 2012. Some training from Harley Race’s Wrestling Academy could prepare him on how to deal with other powerhouses as Brian Breaker and Jason Jones who both know how to use their strength and leverage to work to blow up a man the size of Bronson.
4) LaMarcus Clinton
Loved by the fans, LMC will have to limit these mistakes that he made in Hillsdale,MO for the fans if he hopes to make it to the next level...Still Brandon Espinosa is one of the masterminds of fooling even the best and here he played possum, then moved at the last moment. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)
He is quite possibly the most popular wrestler at MMWA-SICW other than Gary Jackson. Clinton is high flying and exciting but this is also high risk thus making his win loss record inconsistent. Needs to put on some weight to be a true threat to a main title at this time in his career. Maybe a tag team partner for now would give him time to gain the mass that he needs to be a title contender. Still 2012 looks to be a year with many chances to succeed for Clinton. That is if he can overcome a sophomore slump
5) American Bulldogs
Maddog McDowell has won tag team titles with multiple partners in many promotions but you can tell that he has a special place in his heart for rookie Jonathan West. McDowell has true power that has allowed him to contend for singles titles and grudge matches with some of the best in the sport. West has been like a sponge, taking in all the info and advice that McDowell will give him. Their feud with Chad Mylans MMA was a highlight for fans at 3XW for almost all of 2011.
Quality matches on the road at PWE against the PWE Champions the Hooligans showcased West at his very best. Still the inexperience of the Bulldogs would cost them during the match as the Hooligans proved once again to the Midwest that they are arguably still the standard for tag teams in the Midwest.
6) Jaysin Strife
How does one of the very best in the Midwest get on this list?
Honestly, he just hasn’t been able to get going at full speed for some time. He is one of the best wrestlers today that many fans have never heard of. A tour overseas in 2011 limited his coverage as well as working towards making Magnum Pro Wrestling a force in Iowa. Strife has bookings for 3XW and PWE and if the fans are lucky at Metro Pro Wrestling he will become a regular there as well. In fact I am still waiting for my Jaysin Strife vs “Superstar” Steve Fender match. Any promotion that wants a main event player added to their roster should contact Strife soon.
7) ACH
Many fans feel as if the “The Last Dragon” is a superstar sooner than later. Innovated in his moves fans at St Louis Anarchy have been raving about the young star all last year. In December at St Louis Anarchy, he would rain on the parade of Jeremy Wyatt as he returned to LWA/Anarchy in a losing effort in what many fans stated was a great great match. Fans at Metro Pro Wrestling be sure to get tickets for the Feb 4th show as Wyatt and ACH will meet once again.. ACH will also be heading to PWE in Mt Pulaski as he will be taking on Jordan McEntyre during a qualifying match to enter the 2011 PWE Epic 8 tournament that was won in 2010 by the 2011 MWR Wrestler of the Year Brandon Espinosa.
Then on February in Granite City he will return to SLA to take on TJ Perkins. Like Rose, ACH is poised to become a MWR Wrestler of the Year if the cards deal them the proper way in the future.
8) Tyler Priegel
Priegel is poised to make a run for the NMW title that has been owned by Ryan Phoenix- Photo Credit Brian Kelley
Many fans smirk at his nickname “the Dodgeball Superstar“, but Tyler Priegel is no one to take lightly. What makes Priegel so dangerous is how methodical he is in the ring. No wasted movement and always going forward. He is a true threat right now to NMW Champion Ryan Phoenix’s title. Like Serenity though, will Priegel make his way to the MWR coverage area enough to make the impact for us to see? We certantly hope so.
9) Mat Fitchett
Nicknamed “Flippy Sh%T”, Fitchett has been trained by local legend Dingo and former NWA Missouri Champ Davey Vega. Fitchett has been earning rave reviews in Texas with Texas Anarchy and ST Louis Anarchy backing down from no one. Was honored a Chikara spot for the Young Lions cup, in 2011 and was very impressive. Fitchett is another wrestler that MWR Promoters should be on the phone to try to get a spot for him on their card. Exciting and electrifying, he always brings a 100 % and looks to be a star for years to come
10) Heath Hatton
Heath Hatton had a strong 2012, he was one half of the AAPW tag Team Champions with Curly. He made appearances for Harley Race’s WLW and TNA’S developmental league OVW in Kentucky. Hatton would have to go at it alone when Curly was fired from AAPW thus leaving him alone to defend the titles against Matt Cage and Christian Rose, and though Hatton fought with true heart the mountain was too tall to overcome as arch rival “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony assisted Cage and Rose to help them became the AAPW Tag Team Champs.
He started 2012 off just right by defeating Anthony convincingly at AAPW’S Main event. Would love to take on AAPW Champ Edmund McGuire but with the two being among the top two fan favorites right now he may have to wait a bit. That may be a blessing because right now he may not be ready for the champ but with further training and matches around the Midwest by the end of 2012, he may be the man at AAPW.
11) Lucy Mendez
She is The Current WLW Ladies Champion, and yes the ratings soar when she enters the ring for Metro Pro Wrestling whether it is as a valet for Domino Rivera or in action herself. In 2011 she feuded with the 2011 MWR Female Wrestler of the Year Stacey O’Brien who just barely won the award over “The Latino Princess”
So why is she on this list?
It’s simple really.
Mendez just started training late 2008 and has already won two WLW Ladies Championships. With looks that kill and the desire to be the best she has been on the search for the top competition in the Midwest. Mendez has already been in the ring with the likes of O’Brien, Miss Natural, Amy Hennig and MsChif. We would love nothing more than SHIMMER to give her an opportunity to showcase her skills taught to her by the greatest of all greats Harley Race. She deserves a chance to earn her respect among here peers by meeting the very best women wrestlers in the world today at Shimmer. Women such as the CHEERLEADER MELISSA, SARA DEL REY and Rachel Summerlyn could bring her to the next level in 2012.
12) Joey O’Riley
It is easy to add O’Riley to the list many will tell us after he had defeated IWAU Champion Matt Cage in a ladder match this past Saturday in Olney Illinois. True, but it is one thing to win a title it’s another thing to hold onto the belt and with Cage who is still in the mix for another shot, it may be harder to retain that what it was to capture the title.
His youth and focused will be tested early on as he is now the hunted. With that said this is a blessing for young O’Riley so that it can prepare himself on what it is to be a Champion. The pressure of winning a belt is now over.
O’Riley is another wrestler who is still raw in his skills and in 2011 he made appearances for New Midwest Wrestling in tag action. While he is the king of his home base at IWAU it will be interesting to see how he deals with adversity. His next opponent is scheduled to be Cash Bordin, a guy who will do whatever it takes to get the belt but if he is to be among the best O’Riely is going to have to make quick work of another fellow young star in Bordin.

During the MWR years, there have been no doubts on the skills of Brandon Espinosa.
Yet, in 2011, Brandon Espinosa experienced a breakout year. He sought out better training at OVW in Louisville and is now featured regularly on OVW TV with other future WWE stars. He arguably wrestled more matches for more companies than anybody in the area- at least 100 per year. Espinosa was a key player not only in his hometown of St. Louis but around the country
In what may have been his biggest win to date , Espinosa won the Pro Wrestling Epic 8 tournament by defeating Ace Hawkins in round one, Evan Money in round two, then in an exciting final matchup shocked the Midwest when he defeated one of the very best in ROH Superstar Jimmy Jacobs.
Throughout the year he wrestled for All American Pro Wrestling, High Voltage Wrestling, Independent Hardcore Wrestling, IWA Unlimited, IWA Productions, NWA Supreme, Pro Wrestling Epic, Metro East Championship Wrestling, & MMWA-SICW in the MWR covering area for 2011, has also wrestled for New Midwest Wrestling & NWA Dynamo in the past. In 2011, held the MMWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship, MMWA Wild World of Wrestling TV Championship (current holder), Pro Wrestling Epic Heavyweight Championship (current holder), and IWAU Club Championship but also held the Pro Wrestling Prestige US & Heavyweight Championship and TIWF Cruiserweight Championship in Tennessee, plus at one point held 4 Championships at once.
He competed in the following tournaments in 2011 – NWA Midwest X-Division Championship, AIWF Krazy 8 in North Carolina, IHW St. Louis Invitational, and OVW #1 Contender Gauntlet, reached the Finals in the SICW Classic Championship and TIWF Cruiserweight Championship Gauntlet, and won the PWE Epic 8 and the first ever St. Louis Cable TV trophy by defeating David Osborne, Phil E. Blunt and Gary Jackson.
He would contend for the WLW title held by “The Prince” Jason Jones in his very first match with the company coming up just short when Jone’s manager threw salt in the eyes of Espinosa.
Espinosa had victories over nationally known talents such as Jimmy Jacobs, El Generico, Jay Lethal, and Mike Sydal.
In 2011, Espinosa wrestled in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, as well as in the past in Arkansas, and Kansas.
Espinosa also made an appearance on All Worked Up (Season 3 Episode 12) when taped at a ROH event in Ohio. Also is the trainer of MWR talent and the 2011 PWI Rookie of the Year Ace Hawkins, as well as many others.
We are proud to announce that Brandon Espinosa as the 2011 MWR Wrestler of the Year.
