Dubi meets the MECW Fans.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 23, 2009

This is Dubray Tallman out  and  about mingling with the fans of the wrestling community.  We all know as I had said before it is the fans that bring as much action as the wrestlers to the shows.

This past Saturday I was in Wood River, IL enjoying our friends at MECW. Prior to the show I had made my way through the crowd to find four fans with opinions of whom their favorites were and how long they have followed MECW.

I did my best to get their favorite wrestler to pose with them during intermission. Unfortunately some fans like the bad guys of the wrestling world and I was unable to get MECW management to get those guys come out for a picture with the fans.  Why can’t we all just get along??

The theme of the night was that many of the fans first favorite was Dewey “Booger” Dawson who had retired at the last show so I asked them to take a moment to think of who they liked currently at MECW.

The first fan I spoke to was Kenny Busby from Wood River Illinois who had been coming to MECW since their start in. Kenny stated that his favorite was Brian Scrilla. Scrilla is one of the tough guys with a big heart and I had no problem getting that special picture with the two of them.
MECW July 18th 150

Up next I asked my wrestling buddy and fellow Fuzzy Hat Club member/president Terry Joe Wray (Panther) from Cottage Hills, Illinois who has been following MECW since 2007. Panthers favorite was one of mine as well Krotch, but when I went to get MECW to ask for him to come out for the picture they stated that he was in “No mood after his lost to Gabriel Brimstone”  Confused I asked my friend if I could take his picture anyway.

I was then able to catch up with Joe VanDuran who had traveled from Chicago, Illinois to MECW for the second time to see his favorite Bailey Mannix wrestled. I knew the answer was going to be a no because Mannix is a “JERK!!”  So guess what?  I was right so Joe said that he would be happy to take a picture with me for the site. Thank you Joe!!

The fourth fan I found was Annie Smith from East Alton, Illinois who had followed MECW for at least two years. Annie told me that Krotch was her favorite as well, so I explained to her that he was “In no mood” arrhhh… I offered her to choose another wrestler and she quickly picked The Bayou Outlaws Maddog McDowell and Aaron Masterson.  They were gracious enough to take a picture with her and during the excitement I forgot to ask the two tough wrestlers for a picture with me as well.

A great night of wrestling until Krotch ruined it by hitting Gabrille Brimstone with a chair. I thought that they were friends. Krotch, I want you to know that your no longer one of my favorite wrestlers.

I want to thank MECW for allowing me to meet with the fans and will always look forward to coming back to Wood River.

This weekend I will be at Lethal Wrestling Alliance in House Springs Missouri hoping to meet more wrestling fans. If any of the LWA fans would like to be a part of “Dubi Meets the Fans” let me know. I am hoping to do four at each show. If you are not one of the first four I know that my boyfriend Brian “Flair” Kelley and I will be back to support pro wrestling in the Midwest.

MWR June Awards

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 19, 2009

Hello Wrestling fans as one of my idols would say….A slow month in the number of shows in June but some very exciting and important developments in the Midwest scene.

One of our own has the honor of being invited into the Ted Petty Invitational tournament in September. KC Karrington takes out the seemingly unbeatable Jeremy Wyatt, A promotion rises from the ashes to be the top dog for the month. Hadeev wrestles FIVE times and comes out the Albert J. Murray Memorial Tournament winner. Donovan Ruddick and Mark Bland is touted as the must see match of the year with a little help from a guy known as TNT. Speaking of the Future Donovan Ruddick he had words with the powerful Keith Walker at PWE after Walker rumbled with the Mississippi Madman.

The Submission Squad gains momentum going into the second half. 3XW Champion Casanova proved that he is the man to beat at 3XW. The youth of St Louis excelled at IHW as Brandon Aarons was able to defeat Gary Jay to be entered in the match, and then was awarded the victor when he outlasted Eric Allen, Billy McNeil and Adam Rich. This was just a few of the Highlights of June 2009.

The year is half way over with no clear cut winner for the year end awards. Make your way to a pro wrestling show near you and let us know what you like or did not like. Till then Thank you for taking the time to check out Missouri Wrestling Revival Awards for June.

The Promoter of High Voltage Wrestling goes above and beyond by shamelessly promoting his company which is still in its infancy. There is nothing Keny G will not do to help better HVW and Midwest independent wrestling. K.C. Karrington and Jeremy Wyatt went through a hellacious battle for the LWA Heavyweight Title on June 20 at LWA’s Circus Maximus VI. In a nearly 40 minute brawl, these two athletes threw everything at each other, but the desire to be champion kept both of them pushing forward. Wyatt treated Karrington as an unworthy contender but quickly realized that Karrington’s desire matched his own. Many nearfalls and narrow escapes occurred, including Wyatt inadvertently hitting himself in the head with a steel chair as it bounced off the ring ropes. Wyatt could have retained his belt after connecting with the lightning spiral, but with ref was knocked out, allowing Wyatt to have Sterling interfere on his behalf. Biggs saw the events unfolding and chased Sterling to the back before any damage could be done. Karrington then hit Wyatt with a DDT from the second rope and made his dream come true.

JUNE 27, 2009

1.) MECW Great Plains Trophy Battle Royal

Mr.K started the night out with a bang & kicked it off with the MECW Great Plains Trophy Battle Royal!!!

This Match was intense, as it seen fifteen men enter and only one was left standing in broiled in an air of controversy

Eric Allen punishes Evan Money in the corner (Photo Credit Brian “Flair” Kelley)

Eric Allen was eliminated by Jordan McEntyre. Eric Allen was so disgusted with being eliminated by Jordan McEntrye that he re-entered the Battle Royal just to illegally eliminate Jordan McEntrye. As you already know this didn’t set well with Jordan,. Jordan quickly leaped up and chased Eric Allen to the back!

Maddog McDowell stinger splashes Brian Scrilla and Bailey Mannix in the corner (Photo Credit Brian “Flair” Kelley)

Secondly “XXXplicit” Bailey Mannix (Leader of MECW faction XXXplicit Content) caused Gabriel Brimstone to accidentally eliminate Krotch. By shoving them into each other and knocking heads. With Gabriel Brimstone still stunned, the “XXXplicit One” was able to dispose of Brimstone as well. But Bailey Mannix wasn’t done cheating yet as slapped Dewey “Booger” Dawson across the face w/ his managers: “Lovely” Leon Alexander’s crop whip. Temporarily ringing Boogers bell long enough to gain elimination.

Unfortunately for “XXXplicit” Bailey Mannix he was left in the ring one on one with none other than Brian Scrilla. After being manhandled by every good guy that stepped in the ring against Bailey Mannix in the Battle Royal. He was now asking Scrilla for a time out breather.

Mannix begs for time from Brian Scrilla (Photo Credit Brian “Flair” Kelley)

Even going as far as begging on his knees for Scrilla to give him a moment. But Brian Scrilla only gave him a moment to kick Mannix square in the chest!!! Then Scrilla quickly started delivering shot after shot to the head of Bailey Mannix!! With it all looking over, Scrilla sent Mannix into the ropes but only for him to reverse and for Brian Scrilla to hang onto the ropes. But the “XXXplicit One” was quick on the attack and wanting to get the final elimination. But Scrilla was waiting for him and back body dropped him over the top rope too gain the last elimination!!! Or so he thought, during his celebration Ryan Slade came out and sent Scrilla over the top rope to gain the final elimination in the Battle Royal!!! Mr.K came out in dismay and confirmed that Ryan Slade was part of the Battle Royal but had taken his sweet time getting out to the ring to compete.

Winner and first ever MECW Great Plains Trophy Champion: “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade

Ryan Slade had also gained the opportunity to face MECW Heavyweight Champion: Zach Thompson later that night in the main event.

2.) Knight Wanger vs. Juice Robinson

Both these men had competed in the Battle Royal but their completion wasn’t gonna take a back seat to that. Both of these men took each other to the limit but it was Knight Wagner who prevailed over the newest MECW wrestler. But it wasn’t without challenge, as Juice Robinson gave Knight Wagner a run for his money.

WINNER: Knight Wagner

3.) MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone with Brian Scrilla vs. “XXXplicit” Bailey Mannix with “Lovely” Leon Alexander

Bailey Mannix thought he had seen the last of Gabriel Brimstone from the Battle Royal. But he was dead wrong as he had one of the biggest challenges set in front of him. The MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone!!

Bailey Mannix wasn’t alone as he was accompanied to the ring by his very resourceful manager: “Lovely” Leon Alexander. But Gabriel Brimstone wasn’t alone neither as his new mouth piece had accompanied him to the ring as well: Brian Scrilla!!

Even though the playing fields were evened, this still wasn’t an easy match for either champion or challenger. This match seen Bailey Mannix deliver a dangerous butterfly suplex,a Brian buster and a knee drop to the face of Gabriel Brimstone!!

But that couldn’t keep Brimstone down for the 3 count as he come fighting back with side Russian leg sweep, a spine buster, and a devastating charging corner clothesline!

Gabriel Brimstone went for the DDT, “Lovely” Leon took the moment to cause a distraction long enough for Bailey to drop Brimstone with his chain and go for a chair. Krotch quickly made the save and took the chair out of Bailey Mannix hand. Bailey Mannix quickly dropped to his back and started yelling, grabbing the ref attention which caused Bailey Mannix to gain the win via DQ!!

WINNER: “XXXplicit” Bailey Mannix

The fireworks were not over yet, with Gabriel Brimstone confused as to why he was DQ. He began to have words with Krotch on why he hit Bailey Mannix in the head with a chair. Krotch swore up and down he didn’t and was just trying to save Brimstone from a far worse fate.

A shoving match ensued between Krotch and Brimstone till Krotch got angry enough and walked away from Gabriel Brimstone. Gabriel Brimstone didn’t want this to go unsettled, so Scrilla quickly grabbed a mic. Telling Krotch, that this bickering and fighting has to stop. That at the next MECW show: JULY 18th, Krotch and Brimstone were going to settle all their problems in the ring. After the match whoever wins wins, but they gotta put everything behind them after the bell rings!!

4.) Bayou Outlaws vs. The “Pride of Peoria Champion” Eric Allen & Jordan McEntyre

1/2 of the Bayou Outlaws: Aaron Masterson (Photo Credit: Brian "Flair" Kelley)

Bayou Outlaws came out ready for a tag team number one contender ship match against the MECW Tag Title Holders: Huge In Japan (a part of XXXplicit Content). The welcome was quickly spoiled as Eric Allen the “Pride of Peoria” made his presents felt. He grabbed a mic to let the fans know that he was going to add more gold to his collection by getting a shot for the MECW Tag Team Championships next month. Mr.K pointed out one problem, he asked EA. “Who is your tag team partner for this evening?” Eric Allen in his excitement came to the ring without having a partner in mind or on hand.

“So Mr.K told Eric Allen that “Since you don’t have a partner, I’m going to find one for you. Were going to go to intermission and when we come back I’ll have your partner picked out andready to go!”

Mr.K shocked Eric Allen and the MECW Family by naming Jordan McEntyre the tag team partner for Eric Allen. Eric Allen to say the least wasn’t too happy. Also it wasn’t a good sign for things to come when Jordan McEntyre shook hands with the Bayou Outlaws!!
MECW 6-27-09 182
It didn’t take long for Jordan McEntyre to teach Eric Allen a lesson on being a good sportsman, but also in winning isn’t everything. Because in the end it was the Bayou Outlaws with an assist from Jordan McEntyre that picked up the win!!

WINNERS: The Bayou Outlaws

But after the match it went down hill quick, as Jordan McEntyre & Eric Allen were all over each others. Between Mr.K, Ref Waldo, and Brian Scrilla pulling them apart. It still took some doing but, Brian Scrilla calmed down Jordan and Mr.K & Waldo threatened Eric Allen with a suspension.

In the end Mr.K told Eric Allen that next month July 18th MECW show. That Eric Allen would be putting his “Pride of Peoria Championship” on the line in a championship on a pole match! Mr.K told Eric Allen that it was none negotiable and if she didn’t accept the match, that Eric Allen would never compete in MECW again!!

5.) Evan Money with Brian Scrilla vs. Dewey “Booger” Dawson

Evan Money had a huge challenge ahead of him as he was facing a MECW wrestler that had only two loses under his belt since he was in MECW. But with out hesitation this high flying, high impact, and fast paced match. Booger seemed to have this match synched up. But a springboard frog splash later and Evan Money had obtained his first victory!!!

6.) MECW Heavyweight Champion: Zach Thompson vs. MECW Great Plains Trophy Champion: Ryan Slade.

This match started off with a blast as MECW Heavyweight Champion: Zach Thompson came off the top rope with a senton onto Ryan Slade who was standing on the outside of the ring. After both made it into the ring, Ryan Slade the “Canadian Sex Icon” quickly cut off Thompson by grabbing his tights and dropping him throat first into the middle rope. Then an assist by Bailey Mannix by choking Zach Thompson on the middle ropes. But that wasn’t enough for Ryan Slade to drive any air that was left in Zach Thompson body. Ryan Slade stood on the back of the MECW Heavyweight Champion, choking him further on the middle rope. At this point the “Canadian Sex Icon” was going for a lateral press and only garnered a two count.

Ryan Slade was focused on driving all the air out of Zach Thompson’s body by delivering clubbing blows. Following up Ryan Slade stood on the hands of Zach Thompson & started to chop the back of MECW Champion: Zach Thompson. Ryan Slade doing everything he could to push all the air out of Zach Thompson’s so he wouldn’t be able to kick out of a pin attempt.

Zach wisely used his feet to heel kick Ryan Slade in the head. Zach Thompson then sent Slade off the ropes only to reverse and connect with a side Russian leg sweep, but still the MECW Heavyweight Champion kicked out at the two count. Ryan Slade stayed on top of the Champion as he sunk in a deep dragon sleeper, now forcing Zach Thompson to fight for air!!

The MECW Heavyweight Champion quickly found a way out as he used his feet to climb the turnbuckles and get out of the hold. With a quick forearm shiver to the back of Ryan Slade and a Irish whip. Zach Thompson came back with an amazing flying clothesline, back elbow, and a tooth shattering wheel kick!!! The tenacious Ryan Slade kicked out at two!!! Zach Thompson sent him in the corner and though eating the boot of Ryan Slade would’ve given Ryan Slade the opportunity he needed to capitalize. But Zach Thompson caught Slade off the 2nd rope with an amazing arm! Once again only a two count!

Now Zach Thompson the MECW Heavyweight Champion was ready to end the match with his devastating spinning back heel kick. Ryan Slade though was one step ahead and ducked the kick and connect with a club to the back of Thompson. Slade followed that up with an amazing neck breaker, shades of the late great Rick Rude. Slade was still only able to get a two count, proving the heart of the defending MECW Heavyweight Champion, Zach Thompson.

Ryan Slade was growing angry at this point and was ready to end it all w/ a deadly spike pile driver! Zach Thompson fought back and hit a back drop and kick to the head and looked to be ready to put on his own pile driver. Ryan Slade found his way out with a single leg take down and attacked the Champion with sharpshooter! Zach Thompson made it to the ropes which in turn only angered Slade even more. Ryan Slade pulled Zach Thompson away from the ropes and slappedon a cross face submission, working even harder to make Zach Thompson the MECW Heavyweight Champion tap out. But the “Unbreakable” wasn’t going to tap out, and fought his way out of the submission hold!

Ryan Slade was getting desperate and went to use use his newly won trophy to take the head off Zach Thompson. The ref was distracted but Zach Thompson ducked and luck had ran out on the The “Canadian Sex Icon”. Especially after a skull cracking eziguri, followed by the Belfast Buster by the Champion ! 1,2,3 and Zach Thompson retained his MECW Heavyweight title!!

WINNER AND STILL MECW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: The “Unbreakable” Zach Thompson

Before the fans had a moment to celebrate the leader of XXXplicit Content Bailey Mannix attacked the MECW Champion with a chain!!
MECW 6-27-09 353

Mr.K ran into the ring to put a stop to “XXXplicit” Bailey Mannix. Bailey Mannix, apologized in jest for his actions. Zach Thompson, never one to back down challenged Bailey Mannix next month to a match. Oh, but it wasn’t any ordinary match, since Bailey Mannix liked to hit people with a chain. Zach Thompson was challenging Bailey Mannix to a DOG COLLAR MATCH!!

Bailey Mannix looking for an advantage going into their dog collar match next month seized the opportunity and attacked Thompson again, this time he floored him he a reverse death valley driver. Bailey Mannix did not end there as he put Zach Thompson on his shoulders while Ryan Slade delivered a top rope flip pile driver, injuring Zach badley/ Brian Scrilla and Evan Money came to ring to assist Zach Thompson, but he refused their help and limped out of the ring on his own power!!!!

Pro Wrestling Next Recap 5-14-2009 Plus Mark Sterling vs. Tyler Black This Friday in Davenport Iowa

Posted by flairwhoooooo on June 3, 2009

PWN June 5th

By Brian “Flair” Kelley

Wrestling fans I have to apologize to you for the amount of work that I have not had a chance to do with MWR as of late. This recap will not be as thorough as I would like and my pictures are at my home computer and I am out of town for the moment so I can not add them, but with a PPV talent filled matches that PWN will have this Friday I felt the urge to share with you thoughts from the last show and encourage you to make the trip to Davenport.

I was thrilled to get an invite to Pro Wrestling Next located in Davenport, Iowa to check out a phenomenal card on May 15th. Some of the most talented wrestlers in the country work for this upstart promotion. Pro Wrestling Next recently took over Scott County Wrestling in a battle of the two promotions and this was one of their very first cards under the PWN banner.

Thanks to PWN I was able to get some great interviews that I will share with you to go along results from Craig at the PWN message board I am going to give you the recap from an exciting night of wrestling that saw ROH Superstars Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs, former WWE Star Zach Gowan. PWN also boast some of the great tag teams with The Phoenix Twins, Zero Gravity, Hybrids and The Northstar Express. Also on the card was top young talent like Juice Robinson, Krotch, Hunter Mathews, Shane Hollister and Arik Cannon. Main event match Danny Daniels and The Mississippi Madman for the PWN title all show that PWN is one of the premier promotions in the Midwest.

Before the show started, Mark Storm announced that Pro Wrestling NEXT was an official affiliate of the National Wrestling Alliance!

In the opening match of the evening, Zero Gravity and Samuray Del Sol def. Nick Brubaker and The Hybrids in an impressive high flying match. Del Sol looked especially impressive in his PWN debut.

Mark Storm came out to the ring and former SCW Senior Executive Jake Ryder followed shortly behind. Storm announced that he was keeping a majority of the SCW roster as part of his staff. Jake assumed that meant he still had a job too, but Storm cleared that right up when he officially fired Jake Ryder. Jake asked Storm what he was suppose to do. Storm said that Super Target was hiring. Security then escorted Ryder out of the building.

“The One Legged Wonder” Zach Gowan defeated Juice Robinson with a moonsault off the top rope.

Missouri Wrestling Revival caught up with fromer Scott County wrestler Marek Brave who was not happy with one Mark Strom.

Tyler Black and Marek Brave were set to square off, but Brave said that he didn’t agree to compete against Black and that he was going to do it his way and introduced his partner making it a 2-on-1 match, Ring of Honor star Jimmy Jacobs. Just as Jacobs and Brave were about to strike, Krotch’s music hit and we were treated to a surprise tag match.

Tyler Black and Krotch defeated Jimmy Jacobs and Marek Brave when Jacobs and Brave had an argument that led to Jacobs giving Brave a DDT and leaving him. Brave has certainly has his fair share of humility over the last few months. It’ll be interesting to see how he bounces back.

QC Champion Hunter Matthews came to the ring ready to wrestle Krotch in their scheduled QC Title Match, but since Krotch had already competed, he could not compete in the QC Title Match. When Matthews thought he didn’t have to defend, Mark Storm announced that he would have an opponent and it would be his longtime rival, Dewey Dawson.

Hunter Matthews defeated. Dewey Dawson with a top rope piledriver. This match was all over the place. Near the end, Dawson grabbed one of the merchandise tables full of DVDs, placed Matthews on the table over the DVDs and delivered a frog splash from the top rope to the outside!

Pictures comments by Brian “Flair” Kelley

Mr. K made a special announcement to start the night, he was joined ringside with Brian Scrilla with a ring Bell in hand. Brian Scrilla then announced that MECW had a special Family member in attendance that night. He also announced that this MECW Family member was named the special guest Bell Keeper for the evening. Ricky Lynn was honored to be the Bell Keeper for the evening to show respect to him as was going into surgery that Monday!!!! GOOD LUCK RICKY!!!!!!!!

1.)”Pride of Peoria Champion” Eric Allen defeated Jad Hamilton with a corkscrew face buster. Mr. K upset with Eric Allens cheating throughout the match forced Eric Allen to fight in another match.

2.) Jordan McEntyre defeated “Pride Of Peoria Champion” Eric Allen with a school boy pin. Everyone thought that Jordan McEntyre had just become the new “Pride Of Peoria Champion” and the place erupted with cheers. Eric Allen quickly got on the mic and informed everyone that the first match he was in was to defend his “Pride Of Peoria Championship” Belt not against Jordan McEntyre!!! So Eric Allen was still the “Pride of Peoria Champion” He also stated that he would defend the belt when he said so not when Mr.K wanted him too!!!

3.) Brian Scrilla defeated 1/2 of the MECW Tag Team Champions: Huge In Japan: Jimmy Rockwell with the Heart Punch. XXXpicit Content came out to rear their ugly heads lead by Bailey Mannix before the match and not only to say what was on their mind but to make fun of the largest group of MECW Family that shows up the FUZZY HAT CLUB!!! With black fuzzy hat’s they did their job but not without being booed even more It didn’t take long for Mr.K to run them off from ring side and get the match underway but after Scrilla secured a victory XXXPLICIT CONTENTS Ricky Kwong & Ryan Slade attacked Brian Scrilla, who was quickly saved by the Bayou Outlaws!!!!

4.) Krotch defeated ½ of the MECW Tag Champs: Huge In Japan: “The Asian Sensation” Ricky Kwong with the Krotch Rocket. Krotch came out to ask the MECW Family “WHAT…..IS……SHAKE’N!!!!!” But on a more serious note to let the MECW Family know that his match last month against the MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone was his greatest match and challenge ever!! He also wanted a rematch against the MECW Independent champion but before we could get an answer he was interrupted by Huge In Japan once again. In which they told Krotch to quit his whining that no one wanted to hear him complain!! To just accept his lose and move on. Krotch quickly challenged Huge in Japan for their MECW Tag Team Championships!!!! Huge In Japan let Krotch know that he had to earn his spot, they just don’t let anyone face them for the MECW Tag Belts!!! But Mr. K quickly came to ring side and forced Ricky Kwong to face Krotch with the stipulation being that if Krotch beat Kwong then he would be able to challenge Huge In Japan next month’s MECW May 23rd show for the MECW Tag Titles!!!! But after the match Huge In Japan attacked Krotch but only to be stopped by the MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone!!!!!!

5.) “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade defeated MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone via DQ. After a whole match of cheating by Ryan Slade, who even went far as removing his wrist tape and trying to choke the life out of Gabriel Brimstone!!!! Brimstone quickly grew tired of Slades cheating and shoved the ref on the way to attack Ryan Slade and getting himself Disqualified!!! Before Ryan Slade could escape he was DDT for his troubles! Then when the Ref: Waldo tried to get Brimstone under control but was almost DDT for his troubles. Huge In Japan once again tried to attack Gabriel Brimstone but were given a double DDT. The one thing that this journalist finds odd his that Krotch didn’t make it to ring side to save Gabriel Brimstone. In fact he didn’t show up at all. But before it was all said and done Mr.K came out and told XXXplicit Content and Huge in Japan he was tired of all the interference!!! So as punishment to them XXXplicit Content’s: Huge In Japan and Ryan Slade were forced to face The Bayou Outlaws and Brian Scrilla in a 6 man tag match after intermission!!!!

6.) XXXplicit Content’s: Huge In Japan & Ryan Slade defeated The Bayou Outlaws and Brian Scrilla after “Lovely” Leon threw salt in Aaron Masterson eye’s and Ricky Kwong delivered a reverse thrust kick shades of the Great Kabuki picked up the pinfall victory. Bayou Outlaws and Scrilla seemed to have the match well in hand especially after Maddog McDowell and Brain Scrilla connected with a huge double flapjack. But XXXplicit Content stole the victory and almost escaped. Unfortunately for Ryan Slade he stayed out their too long cutting down the fans making mention that he was gonna sweep the battle royal for the Great Plaines Trophy!! Even mentioning that the first person he was going to eliminate was the overweight, ugly, and slow Brian Scrilla because after all he’s beat him once and cost him a match. While Slade wasn’t looking Brian Scrilla snuck back into the ring and leveled Ryan Slade with a clothesline and a Swinging Neck breaker, then finished him off with a heart punch!!!! Ryan Slade couldn’t leave under his own power which forced XXXplicit Content to have to carry him off!!!!

Will we see the “Canadian Sex Icon” at the battle royal?? Guess will find out what his health condition is at the May 23rd show.

7.) Mark Sterling defeated Mike Sydal with a power bomb then made him tap with a sharpshooter the match was high fling and high impact, with Sydal doing the flying and Mark Sterling doing the impacting. Sterling did everything to keep Sydal down but he couldn’t stop the high flying ability. Sydals seem to be over confidence after an earlier win from Sterling at MECW at a past show. Add in the craftiness of the ring veteran Sterling and it was all she wrote for Mike Sydal when he caught the fan favorite off the top with a power bomb and a Sharp Shooter to boot!!!!

8)Rebel Lucha defeated Eric Fantabulous in both of their MECW debuts. The wild and crazy RebeL Lucha excited the crowd with quick moves and fast strikes. Fantabulous was able to slow him down and attempted to make the mask man tapped with an arm bar. Rebel Lucha was able to get loose on way to a big win a MECW

9.) Zach Thompson defeated Dewey “Booger” Dawson, Evan Money, and Bailey Mannix in a Fatal Four Way Match for the MECW Heavyweight Championship. With the three keeping Bailey Mannix out of the match it seemed all but won with the high fling ability of Zach Thompson and Evan Money anything was possible. You couldn’t count out Dewey Dawson strength and power!!! In the end Bailey Mannix got the accidental tag and began cherry picking opponents but ended up being eliminated to the outside of the ring. Highly upset, Bailey Mannix grabbed a chair right as the ref was knocked down, then he leveled the current champ Dewey Dawson, then Zach Thompson, but before he could get Evan Money. Evan caught him with a leg lariet of his own which knocked the chair in the face of Bailey Mannix sending him to the outside. Evan then put him down with a senton dive from the top rope to the outside. Unfortunately for Mannix though is that when he struck Zach Thompson with the chair he fell on the prone body of Dewey and when the ref came to, he counted the 1,2,3!!! WINNER and the NEW MECW Heavyweight Champion: “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson.

PWE’S Debut by the numbers of attendance was a little disappointing with the star power and talent on the card to be honest. With that said they should their head up high in the fact that they provided the wrestling scene in the Midwest with some of the top stars in the sport.

PWE management spoke to MWR and felt that they were happy to get their first show on the books. They hoped to improve on several areas’ themselves and felt that the show was a learning experience. PWE wanted to thank the wrestlers for giving a 100 percent and the referee’s that step in on such short notice. Last but not least they wanted to thank the fans for the support and hope that they keep an eye our for the next PWE show.

Till then PWE has teamed up with High Voltage Wrestling to bring the PWE Tag Team Champions to Granite City, IL on May 9th to defend their titles against one of the top tag teams in the Midwest, The Hooligans. HVW returns with a great night of action and some of the top stars in the country. The HVW Champion Donovan Ruddick, The Livewire Champ Kahagas along with all your favorite wrestlers in a card named “Peace and Blood”. For more information go to High Voltage Wrestling.

I would like to thank PWE for the invite to their debut show and would like to wish them the best in 2009 and beyond. To keep up with PWE please check out their myspace at PWE.

MECW Recap March 21 – MWR Fans beware of XXXplicit Content

Posted by flairwhoooooo on April 14, 2009

By MECW Management

Mr. K started the night off right after being off for almost two months, Mr. K let the crowd know they were kicking off the night with a MECW Tag Title match!!!!

Prior to the MECW Tag Team Championship MWR was able to catch with both the Champions The Bayou Outlaws and the Chalangers Huge In Japan. They had this to say!

Huge In Japan came out with a tremendous amount of jeer by the MECW Family. When the MECW Tag Champions The Bayou Outlaws came to the ring the MECW Family erupted cheers to show their love for the beloved Outlaws. Before Huge In Japan would let the match begin they announced that the acquired the services of a brand new manager! Jimmy Rockwell noted that their new manger had watched a particular cowboy movie over 100 times!!! Jimmy Rockwell then announced their new manager “Lovely” Leon Alexander the manager of former MECW Champion Bailey Mannix!!

With match finally getting under way The Bayou Outlaws were well in control. Especially with Maddog McDowell being the power and Aaron Masterson being the speed and agility. At one point Maddog pressed Aaron Masterson over his head in landing on Jimmy Rockwell in the corner and delivered a monkey flip!!! Maddog was also able to hit a very impressive and very powerful standing leg drop!!! But Huge In Japan soon took control with a well placed reverse thrust kick by “The Asian Sensation” Ricky Kwong!!! The one man in Huge In Japan that lets his martial arts and wrestling ability do the talking in the ring. With Huge In Japan administering a vicious beat down to Aaron Masterson. The co-holder to the MECW Tag Belts finally made it to his corner to tag in the powerful and the awesome Maddog McDowell who quickly cleaned house.

Maddog McDowell landed a double handed choke slam into a spine buster!!! But the referee was distracted with Huge In Japans new manager “Lovely” Leon Alexander, so he couldn’t make the three count that Maddog definitely had!!! Maddog got up and grabbed “Lovely” Leon Alexander and asking the crowd if they want him to hit “Lovely” Leon and with the ref now distracted by Ricky Kwong. This allowed “Lovely” Leon enough time to throw salt in Maddog McDowell’s eyes blinding him long enough for Jimmy Rockwell to roll him up & collect the 1,2,3 after Ricky Kwong knocked Aaron Masterson off the apron.

Winners and New MECW Tag Team Champions: Huge In Japan: Jimmy Rockwell and “The Asian Sensation” Ricky Kwong!!!

After Huge in Japan won the Tag Team Titles, Former MECW Champion Bailey Mannix came out with Ryan Slade and the microphone in hand. He announced that his manager Leon Alexander wasn’t with Huge In Japan by accident. The fact of the matter was that Bailey Mannix was tired of putting up with Mr. K and his rules to MECW. He was sick of being shafted by Mr. K & the MECW family. He also said that Ryan Slade & Huge in Japan were tired of being told what to do and forced into matches by Mr.K!!! So they were coming together to form a faction known as XXXplicit Content!!! A former tag team that Bailey Mannix himself was one half of. The other included now retired Danny Scott. But the former tag team would be larger and more powerful than ever as a Faction!!! With Bailey Mannix the leader, there is no telling how far this faction will go. But Mr. K promises that their will be law and order within the MECW, the Mayor of Midwest promises that!!!!

In the 2nd match it was Brain Scrilla vs. “The Pride of Peoria Champion” Eric Allen. Scrilla stopped Eric Allen on one of his rants. Brian Scrilla promptly told Eric Allen that no one wanted to hear him speak and if he said one more word to expect a to fight, and he would shove that microphone up his nose!!! But with the referee telling each man to go to his respective corner, gave Eric Allen the chance to pearl Harbor Brian Scrilla.

Scrilla quickly regained control with a kick to Eric Allen’s chest. With it appearing that Brian Scrilla had the match all but won. Eric Allen moved from the corner allowing Brian Scrilla to drive his knee into the turnbuckle!! One chop block to the back of Brian Scrilla’s knee, he was now on his back and at the mercy of Eric Allen. Eric Allen not only took enjoyment in the fact that he had hurt Brian Scrilla. Allen relished the fact that he could possibly put Scrilla out of wrestling forever!!!!

Eric Allen knows all the dirty tricks and will do anything to get a vicvtory. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

Brian Scrilla did not even having enough strength to stand on his left leg still put up a fight against Eric Allen. Finally Eric Allen finally missing a knee into the corner on Scrilla, Scrilla quickly retaliated with a massive clothesline!!!! Scrilla gutted it out picking Eric Allen up for a huge running power slam!!! This gave Ryan Slade the opportunity for his manger to cause a distraction and for him to take Eric Allen’s “Pride of Peoria” belt and slammed it into the back of Brian Scrilla’s injured knee. Eric Allen fell on top of him and hooked the even more damaged leg, giving Eric Allen the victory.

Winner: “The Pride of Peoria” Eric Allen

Next the audience was on their feet for Juice Robinson an MECW newcomer who not only has strength on his side but height as well. He came out & put a challenge out to the 1st ever MECW Independent Champion Hunter Matthews. Hunter Matthews slowly made it to ring side, with pizza and water in hand. Hunter grabbed the mic and told Juice Robinson 1. He already beat Juice twice, and 2nd That he wasn’t even ready for a fight that he was still eating his dinner. Juice quickly upped the ante and told Hunter Matthews that if he beat him again, that Juice Robinson would leave MECW for good and never bother Hunter Matthews again.

Hunter quickly agreed to the match, Hunter Matthews quickly took control early on. Juice seemed to take quite a beating from Hunter Matthews. But the match was all but over when Juice Robinson started to make a comeback on the always cocky Hunter Matthews. Hunter even resorted to trying to cheat to beat Juice. But this time around Juice was too smart to get caught in one of Hunter Matthew’s tricks.

Match Four was the triple threat number one contenders match for the MECW Heavyweight Championship!!!

It was “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson vs. Evan Money vs. Bailey Mannix

This was a high impact match, high flying, and fast action match. Zach came off the top rope with impressive high flying moves. Evan Money was flying over the top rope throwing caution to the wind and himself at Bailey Mannix!!!!

But it didn’t take Bailey Mannix long to gain control of the match and took Zach and Evan not only to their limits but from pillar to post!!! The MECW Family even saw Bailey Mannix take flight in this match!!!! In the end though Zach delivered a germen suplex on Bailey Mannix & Bailey Mannix executed a Northern Lights Suplex on Evan Money!!! The referee counted the 1,2,3 but the problems were just beginning. It seemed to the referee that all participants in the match had their shoulders pinned to the mat!!! Mr. K came out spoke to the ref who then went to the back and reviewed the tape. Mr. K came back with the ref’s decision stands and that all three men are the number one contenders. So in April 25th Zach Thompson, Evan Money, and Bailey Mannix would face the MECW champion in a fatal four way match!!!!

Winners: Zach Thompson, Evan Money, and Bailey Mannix

After intermission the next match was Jordan McEnytre’s return match!!!!

This match being Jordan McEntyre’s return match to MECW, Jordan didn’t seem to show any sign of ring rust. But the “Sex Icon” Ryan Slade, managed to take control of the match, taking Jordan McEntyre to his limits. Jordan McEntyre found a way to pull the rug out from under Slade and almost beat the “Sex icon” in numerous near falls!!! But with the help of Ryan Slades manager pulling the leg of McEntyre while on the top rope thought to put Jordan down for Ryan Slade to attempt a super-plex!!!! Brian Scrilla showed up to ring side too chase off Slades manager. This allowed Jordan the opportunity to shove Slade off the top rope & deliver a flying elbow drop & gain the 1,2,3!!!!!!

Winner: Jordan McEntyre

Next was the MECW Independent Championship Match!!!!!

Gabriel Brimstone vs. Krotch

Earlier in the evening Krotch came out to make sure Gabriel Brimstone and The MECW Family knew that the reason that he was not at the last show. The reason was because he was busy training & getting ready to cash in his number one contender ship match for the MECW Independent Title!!!! He made sure that Brimstone knew that it was nothing personal, that he was cashing it in because if he could face anyone for that title it would in fact Gabriel Brimstone.

Locking up Gabriel Brimstone and Krotch, this was a intense match up. With the crowd being torn right down the middle, half cheering for the challenger Krotch and the other half for the Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone!!!!

The whole match nobody knew who would end up on top, but it was Gabriel Brimstone who reversed Krotche’s Krotch Rocket finisher and went for the school boy for the 1,2,3!!!!!

After the match Krotch was upset with himself that he wasn’t able to kick out of the pin attempt. But in the end Krotch & Brimstone shook hands, resumed their friendship and left it all in the ring.

Winner and still MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone

Main Event: Knight Wagner vs. MECW Heavyweight Champion: Dewey “Booger” Daweson.

Knight Wagner thru everything he had at the MECW Heavyweight Champion: Dewey, even coming close to become the new Heavyweight Champion for MECW!!!!! But in the end it was Dewey “Booger” Dawson who retained the MECW Heavyweight Championship!!!!!

Winner and STILL MECW Heavyweight Champion: Dewey “Booger” Dawson

But Dewey’s victory celebration wouldn’t last long as he was quickly attacked by the newly formed faction in MECW XXXplicit Content!!!! With the new MECW Tag Team Champions and Ryan Slade putting the boots to Dewey, Bailey Mannix wasn’t far behind with steel chair in hand. Dewey started fighting back but didn’t last long with Bailey Mannix waffling Dewey in the back with the chair. But it only got worse from their, as Dewey turned around to only be leveled in the head with the steel chair!!!!!! Bailey then dropped to his knees extending his arms and proclaiming himself the savior of MECW!!!!!! XXXplicit’s Contents celebration didn’t last long either because: The Bayou Outlaws, Zach Thompson, Evan Money, & Brain Scrilla carring a steel Chair to boot!!! With all of them running off XXXplicit Content and helped the fallen MECW Champion Dewey Daweson to the back!!!!!

MWR final analysis: MECW is a federation that everyone should have there eyes on. Dewey “Booger” Dawson is highly entertaining, two of the top tag teams in the Midwest with Huge in Japan and the Bayou Outlaws. Bailey Mannix is the real deal, Gabriel Brimestone is OVAH. Evan Money and Zach Thompson flies with the best of them. Juice Robinson is a superstar in the making, Hunter Mathews is always entertaining and “Lovely” Leon is …well “Lovely” Leon. Plus you have a top notch locker room with some excitable fans that include the Fuzzy Hat Club.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 12, 2008

November Wrestler of the Month

jeremy-wyatt-part-2

Jeremy Wyatt (PWP, LWA, 3XW, HVW, NWA-DPW)

The rebel wrestled in FIVE organizations in four states in the month of November. At 3XW in Iowa, he defeated the vastly improving Mike Sydal. In Illinois with HVW he wrestled Kahagas in such a tough match that Kahagas had to use a fake injury to get the upper hand to steal the win. At LWA in Missouri, he retained the LWA Championship in a three way between Dingo and KC Karrington when he pinned Karrington.

He traveled to PWP  in Iowa he was able to retain the PWP Championship when he defeated former Champion Abu Colossus and #1 Brett Young in a three way dance. Last, but not least he returned to Kansas with the NWA, he was scheduled to take on Dingo but when Dingo was unable to go, none other than ROH Star Davey Richards would be the man Wyatt had to beat. In a match up that Wyatt sure felt the next day; the outcome was once again a win for the Rebel Jeremy Wyatt.

dynamo-pro-wrestling-logo

NWA Dynamo Pro Wrestling

In a time where 100 people attending is good, 221 is phenomenal. What is more impressive is the last time wrestling was there the attendance was low. More important than the number was the crowd response. From the time the bell rang to the last pinfall the place was off the hook.

1st Runner Up –New Midwest Wrestling
2nd Runner Up – 3XW
3rd Runner Up – IWA Productions

Others receiving votes – AAPW,HVW, Chaos Pro Wrestling

November Personality of the month

high-voltage-show-2-plsu-nwa-in-pomona-011

Magic Man (HVW)

Seemingly 100% behind his man from the PWI 500, The Magic Man turned on Kahagas during the main event of the last High Voltage show, aligning himself with “Future” Donovan Ruddick. He showed that he gravitates toward greatness, and he felt that Kahagas could not handle it anymore (see video on Missouri Wrestling Revival). Overall, Magic Man’s wit and knowledge warrant his nomination for Personality of the month.

1st Runner Up- Luke Roberts (LWA)

November Match of the month

NWA Kansas Champion #1 Brett Young

Vs.

Tyler Cook

(NWA Presents Dynamo Pro Wrestling)

October 29th Pomona, Kansas

On a night where every match was top notch, the pressure was on in front of 221 people. The Kansas Champion was at his very best, working the crowd to frenzy and using every advantage to retain the title. Tyler Cook, worked and worked to get the momentum going his way but when Cook hit the uncovered turnbuckle (Thanks to Brett Young earlier) he would go home without the belt. In the main event, you can make or break what the fans thought of the night. Cook showed that he can live up to the hype that many feel he is capable. The fans though, cant wait to see Brett Young get what’s coming to him next time. What more can you ask from the bad guy?
