Former MWR Future Star Raphael ‘Big Brother’ King is Ready for the ROH Top Prospect Tournament

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 27, 2017

tpt-king-news

From the official ROH Website

What earns someone the nickname “Big Brother”? Is it size? Personality? Charisma? Looking out for someone in a brotherly way?

In the case of Raphael “Big Brother” King, the charismatic leader of the Omega Nu Anax Fraternity, it doesn’t have to be just one attribute. At 6’5”, King is one of this year’s tallest, most imposing competitors in the Top Prospect Tournament. Coupled with a confidence that commands attention, King has used his physical attributes and gift of gab to fight his way to a better life.

Subscribing to his fraternity’s core values of perseverance and prosperity, Big Brother King was born and raised in a neighborhood of St. Louis where opportunities were thin; a place where there existed a constant struggle to achieve the American dream. King has achieved in a way many he grew up with did not, serving as a Big Brother in the ONA fraternity while moving quickly through the world of professional wrestling.

The 24-year old rising star is married to Devyn Nicole and the two have made marks in the worlds of business, acting, modeling. and even reality television. While there is no doubt that the two are extremely talented, some have wondered if both have been poisoned by success and vanity, perhaps disconnected from their roots as they live in luxury in the wealthy suburbs of Atlanta.

Whatever Big Brother King’s intentions are, one thing is clear: he will not take this opportunity lightly. A win in the 2017 TPT would enhance both King and Nicole’s profile across all of their business ventures and the two have been preparing while in their first-class accommodations as they travel across the country to premieres and release parties. The verdict is still out on whether or not King will stay true to his roots – will we see the benevolent young man that helped others as a Big Brother at ONA or we will see a more sinister Big Brother driven by fame and fortune? We will find out at Steel City Showdown if this blue-chip prospect has what it takes to earn a ROH contract!

2016 Missouri Wrestling Revival Future Star – Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 20, 2017

Bio courtesy of Patrick Brandmeyer

The names of Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett are well-known to Midwest wrestling fans, but the national wrestling scene has only recently begun to discover the talents of these skilled competitors.

Both men started their careers with Dynamo Pro Wrestling before branching out to the Lethal Wrestling Alliance, which would later become St. Louis Anarchy. Vega was first known as a tag team competitor and teamed with Johnny Vinyl to feud with The Ego Express(Steven Kennedy & K.C. Karrington), leading to Kennedy & Karrington becoming the first LWA Tag Team Champions when they defeated Vega and substitute partner Dingo. After that, Vega focused on singles competition…after holding the NWA Missouri Title in Dynamo Pro, he went on to capture the LWA Heavyweight Title from Gary Jay in December of 2009. Vega held the title for most of 2010 before dropping it to Evan Gelistico; this occured shortly before the transition to St. Louis Anarchy and Vega spent most of that promotion’s existence chasing the title.

0

Davey Vega explodes with a clothesline on ROH Star Jonathan Gresham.

In that time, Vega competed against some of the best wrestlers in the world and scored victories over many of them. That list included such names as Davey Richards, Kyle O’Reilly, Johnny Gargano, Arik Cannon, A.C.H., Michael Elgin, Roderick Strong, Chris Hero, Jonathan Gresham, D.J. Z, T.J. Perkins, Chip Day, and Martin Stone. In his final opportunity at the gold at St. Louis Anarchy’s last show, Vega finally capitalized by winning a triple threat match with champion Fitchett and Gary Jay for the title! Vega will continue to carry the championship in Pro Wrestling Championship Series as the “Gateway Heritage Title“.

As for Fitchett, his career took a similar path and he squared off with many of the same competitors as his often-time tag partner Vega. In fact, Fitchett and Vega were Tag Team Champions in both the Chicago-based All-American Wrestling and the Kansas City-based Metro Pro Wrestling!

4

TJ Perkins found WWE gold in 2016, but before that he and Fitchett put on a wrestling clinic at St. Louis Anarchy.

The “Dirty Rook” took his lumps in his early LWA and SLA career, enduring hard-hitting battles with the likes of Arik Cannon, Akira Tozawa, Alex Shelley, and his trainer Dingo. Fitchett was frustrated after several near-misses in title matches against Darin Corbin and Gary Jay, leading to him taking a sabbatical from SLA competition; however, it turned out that he was hiding under the mask of “Dangerous Deveroux” as he competed for SLA and PWCS. Fitchett had an uphill battle against Gary Jay as the champion rode a wave of momentum, holding the title for over two years with title defenses against some of the toughest competition in the country. Winning a thirty-man Anarchy Rumble in late 2015 finally propelled him back into title contention…and in February of 2016, Fitchett finally ended Gary’s monumental title reign to reach the top of the mountain!

Fitchett didn’t shy away from challenges as he defended his title against Evan Gelistico, T.J. Perkins, Jake Dirden, and Paco Gonzalez…but on STL Anarchy’s final night, he lost the title to Vega.

It took several years for both men to gain attention in the national independent wrestling scene, but their exposure in AAW and Beyond Wrestling has turned the heads of many onlookers. Now forming the “Blood Brothers” tag team in the National Wrasslin’ League under the names Davey Gibson and Matthew Grundy, the two look to add more tag team gold to their already impressive resumes! These two men have been considered the Midwest’s best-kept secrets, but that secret is finally getting out!

Look for an exclusive MWR Future Star artwork honoring Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett for their achievement from acclaimed artist Dartallion Allen Jr. in the future.

If you would like to sponsor the MWR Future Star Plaques for Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett then please contact MWR at flairwhoooooo@yahoo.com. The cost is 50.00 each or $100.00 for both (two plaques) and you will receive a past MWR Yearbook, a Tyler Black (Seth Rollins rookie card) and a mention on the MWR Website.

2016 Missouri Wrestling Revival Future Star – Kevin Lee Davidson / Todd Letterman

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 19, 2017

The Missouri Wrestling Revival Future Star Award has always been one of my favorite awards to give a wrestler. In the past, we tried to honor wrestlers that were just starting out within their first few years that we believed had the talent as well as have shown the desire to go the extra mile on the roads, training with veterans and doing everything that they possibly could to succeed.

This award was one that was personally chosen by myself, and I have been very proud of all the great talents that we have chosen.

This year I decided to change the philosophy of the award to not only talents that are just starting out. The reason is that wrestling has evolved within the past few years where stars that have entertained us on the Independents for years have had the opportunity to become household names at the WWE such as Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens.

So I asked myself, Brian, with so many young wrestlers in the area often traveling in and out of the area, they often are in the mention of top wrestlers, but because of coming in and out of it how can I honor them for their efforts? So with that thought I imagine the MWR Future Star Award to be a representation of who I would send today to NXT if the WWE asked me and my reputation was on the line. Please note that former MWR Wrestlers of the Year winners will not be up for this award

This year we will have two announcements, one today and one tomorrow. Both as important as the other.

Kevin Lee Davidson is a wrestler that meets all the criteria that the past winners exhibited. I love his size, and his raw talents. He has shown that he is smart enough to reach out to the top trainers in the area to improve himself as he has been under the tutelage of former MWR Wrestler of the Year Brandon Espinosa, Former ROH World Champion Michael Elgin, and through camps with the likes of eight time NWA World Champion Harley Race. He has already wrestled in another country and been seen on Ring of Honor TV.

Today, he is a signed contracted wrestler with NWL that feature trainers such as former Harley Race’s right hand man, Derek Stone, and Michael Strider, as well as the wrestling minds of Chris Gough, Major Baisden, Matt Jackson and Travis Scott Bowden the foundation is as strong to succeed as it could be anywhere in the independents.

Brian Kelley – Owner and Editor Missouri Wrestling Revival

0A mere two and a half years into his wrestling career, Kevin Lee Davidson(aka Todd Letterman) has made a huge impact on the Midwest wrestling scene. Debuting in the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Alliance in the summer of 2014, “K.L.D.” made an immediate impact with his sheer size and power. He held the Television, Survivor, and Heavyweight Titles in his time with the promotion, but his journey was just beginning as he appeared for most of the major promotions in the St. Louis area; his experience includes matches with Dynamo Pro Wrestling, World League Wrestling, St. Louis Anarchy, and Wrestling Invades America(where he held their Heavyweight Title).

K.L.D.’s big step in the wrestling world was seeking the mentorship of Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling star “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin; this led to several appearances for ROH as well as matches in Canada and Europe. Most recently, his talents caught the eye of National Wrasslin’ League President Major Baisden…K.L.D. was one of the first to be signed to an exclusive NWL contract!

Now known as “The All-American” Todd Letterman, the big man is one of the top names in the new NWL promotion…will he be the first NWL St. Louis Champion? Don’t bet against him!

Look for an exclusive MWR Future of the Year Kevin Lee Davidson/ Todd Leterman artwork honoring her for his achievement from acclaimed artist Dartallion Allen Jr. in the future.

If you would like to sponsor the MWR  Future Star of the Year Plaques for KLD /Todd Leterman then please contact MWR at flairwhoooooo@yahoo.com. The cost is $50.00 and you will receive a past MWR Yearbook, a Tyler Black (Seth Rollins rookie card) and a mention on the MWR Website.

MWR WISH LIST and FEUDS to Watch in 2014

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 2, 2014

The MWR Wish list for 2014

Brandon Espinosa debuts for 3XW

 photo IMG_1122_zpsb9319f9a.jpg

By Brian Kelley

The former MWR Wrestler of the year Brandon Espinosa could very well be the most active wrestler in the MWR coverage area . Many people made a great case for him being named as the first 2-time MWR Wrestler of the year this year with a great run as champ at PWE and MMWA.

During the MWR years, the two wrestlers that I have covered live the most are Espinosa and Mark Sterling and make no mistake about it that I have seen two versions of Espinosa. One is the guy that comes in and has one of the best matches on the night, but with him being so busy at other promotions just does not find the traction to show what he really has. On the other side of the coin, is why I call him a “Game Changer”. Take a peak at his time at the historic South Broadway Athletic Club. With the promotion in flux after some promotional changes, Espinosa returned and was a the foundation that brought excitement and havoc throughout 2013.

3XW is a former 2-time MWR Promotion of the year ( an award that has been since done away with) but it is hard to believe that Espinosa has yet to make his way to the Des Moines, Iowa promotion.

With the ego of Espinosa a long term contract for Espinosa could spell trouble and excitement in the championship picture at 3XW. How would the 3XW faithful deal with the flamboyant Espinosa? That is something I would love to see.

Gerald James

 photo IMG_1313_zpsf8c4d880.jpg

vs.

Jake Dirden

 photo IMG_2064_zps094ab1b6.jpg

Dirden is the hot name in the Midwest after touring Japan and coming back to win big matches and Championships on route to being chosen as the 2013 MWR Wrestler of the Year. James was mentioned early on for the award after dethroning Darin Corbin for the St Louis Anarchy Championship and having another year filled with hard hitting matches. James would be the smaller man in this battle, but don’t count him out as he has a track record of battling some of the biggest hard hitting men in wrestling that includes the Necro Butcher, Adam Raw, and Donovan Ruddick.

Could be the defining moment in James career to this point by proving that he was in fact overlooked as one of the best today or will Dirdens raw brutality be the end of James?

Either way I have no doubt that this would be a match that would not forget.

In the end the winner of this match would be the fans.

Ron Powers

 photo IMG_7498_zpsc385f71b.jpg

vs.

Michael Elgin

 photo IMG_2208_zps937e86c8.jpg

Many around the country know Michael Elgin as one of the young powerhouses in the sport of pro wrestling. Elgin is a perennial contender for the ROH World Championship and had an impact demolishing Eric Allen at MECW, taking it too the high flyer Billy McNeil at Dynamo Pro Wrestling and recently showing no mercy to JoJo Bravo at St. Louis Anarchy.

So many may laugh at the notion that Ron Powers at the final years of his wonderful wrestling career could hang with the young stallion Elgin in 201. Yet they have not seen Ron Powers in action. Sure he may be in a rare situation of being overpowered by Elgin, but men like Flash Flanagan, Gary Jackson and Ricky Cruz can attest that Powers is meaner than ever.

This match would be a true classic for fans of old school, power on power with two guys that would have no fear of backing down.

One could hope that Elgin vs. Powers happens in 2014.

Stacey O’Brien
 photo IMG_3342_zps2fba761d.jpg

vs

Jordynne Grace

 photo 1481350_522828607813698_1218123590_n_zpsbdc95d34.jpg

The 2013 female scene is getting a boost from the likes of Devyn Nichole, who could be the WLW Female Champion this month if she is able to defeat the 6-time WLW Ladies Champion Stacey O’Brien in Rolla, Missouri on the 15th. But if she is unable to wrestle the title from her , then Texas native Grace is a true threat to the dominace of the Irish Catholic School girl.

No female has more of a buzz that the powerful and young Grace, but there has been many to make their way to knock Stacey O’Brien off the mountain, only to find out that that goal can be very difficult to achieve.

Can Grace add her name in the history books with the likes of MsChif, Stacey O’Brien, Josie and Malia Hosaka to become the youngest female wrestler to hold onto the title in 2014.
We don’t know but we would love to see this match.

Jeremy Wyatt

 photo IMG_4040_zps9ba22c94.jpg

vs.

Elvis Aliaga

 photo IMG_3316_zps5473db76.jpg

Wyatt is widely known as the Belt Collector and one of the best wrestlers in the Midwest. Amazingly, Wyatt a native of Kansas City, has yet to challenge for Harley Race’s World League Wrestling Championship. In the first MWR Yearbook we had hoped to see Wyatt challenge former WLW Champion Jason Jones (todays Leland Race ) in a match that never happened.

The son of Harley Race is now on the hunt to return to WLW glory as young star Elvis Aliaga has dethrone him for the title.

One would think that would mean that Wyatt would have an easier road on the less experienced wrestler Aliaga, but we have seen that the current WLW Champion has learned quickly under the watchful eye of the 8-time NWA World Champion Race’s school.

Wyatt, a man that has won more main championships in the MWR coverage area than anyone during the MWR years going after the WLW Championship would be a match that the fans have been clamoring for years.

The Hooligans

 photo IMG_9946_zpsabf2fdd5.jpg

vs.

The Black Hand Warriors

 photo IMG_0076_zps33face49.jpg

It’s common knowledge that the Hooligans is the Peyton Manning of the tag team division in the MWR Coverage area. Everyone believes that but…..the Black Hand Warriors. The young studs at WLW has been a force to reckon with since winning the WLW Championship and telling anyone that will listen that they are “BETTER THAN YOU”

Michael Magnuson and Dave Delorean are the kings in the WLW locker room , but for them to prove that they are in fact the top tag team in the Midwest then they will have to look across the ring and see the Hooligans looking back at them.

MWR’s money is on the Hooligans winning early, but with the raw talent of Magnuson and Delorean we could see the two sponge off of the battles to maybe take the title as the top tag team in the Midwest.

“Miss Natural” Heather Patera

 photo IMG_7807_zps818a3f3d.jpg

vs.

Mariah Moreno “The Bloodthirsty Vixen”

 photo 1004459_492799970791566_1613849033_n_zpsa9db2a59.jpg

“Miss Natural” Heather Patera could very well be the most underrated wrestler in the Midwest today. The two-time MWR Female of the Year has been ignored in the PWI TOP 50 Female, even though she is one of the few women that can lay claim to have trained under her dad Ken Patera and Harley Race. Miss Natural is wrestling perfection while winning the WLW title for a sixth time and then battled Shelly Martinez at ICP’s The Gathering of the Juggalos.

Natural has done it all in the Midwest, including starring at SHIMMER and in Chicago’s AAW. Today she is a marked women, if someone wants to lay claim as the best female in the Midwest they will have to go through her.

With that target on her back there is one wo— man that may be on the way to the Midwest to end Naturals reign on top. Both women that has a history with former WWE Star Shelly Martinez, the one and only transgender wrestler Mariah Moreno “The Bloodthirsty Vixen”.

Moreno has battled Mickie Knuckles and lived to talk about it. This match could be as physical and punishing as any match in the history of women’s wrestling in the Midwest.

MWR FUTURE STAR MATCH

Showtime Bradley Charles

Raphael King

 photo 3_zps612c70dc.jpg

vs

vs.

ACH

 photo 2_zpse9e5c5a8.jpg

vs

Brian Breaker

 photo IMG_5258_zpsa4b3b66e.jpg

The MWR Future Star award is my personal favorite award that we present each year. Presented to the man/women that we not only feel is a talent to make a lasting impact, but also the wrestler that has shown the drive to improve their training and willingly to travel the roads to be the best that they can be.

Each year we have done a great job with our picks and due to the fact that this year we had 2 talented wrestlers going over and beyond, we decided to honor 2 wrestlers for the first time.

Showtime Bradley Charles is the first ever MWR Future Star recipient in 2010, a man that has sought out training around the world and is getting better with each and every match. In 2011, the power of Brian Breaker exploded onto the scene and was picked up shortly after by WWE as a developmental wrestler in Florida. In 2012, Texas native ACH made his way to SLA on route to KC’s Metro Pro Wrestling and many of the other top promotions in the area. Since then he has signed a contract for ROH. This year the 3rd runner-up for the PWI Rookie of the Year, Raphael King was chosen and a man that is coming into his own is another powerhouse, Alexander Rudolph who has worked all the top promotions in the Midwest, but has upped his game wrestling around the country and took part in the WLW Harley Race WLW/WWE/NOAH camp.

Which one of these men would come up on top in 2013? Would it be the charismatic and the breathtaking moves of ACH? How about the perfect combination of power and wrestling of Brian Breaker? Raphael King may be a rookie, but he has been wrestling like a seasoned pro, so don’t tell him that he is the underdog because of his experience. Can Showtime send a message on why he was chosen first and have his hand raised under the lights in this huge match or will Alexander Rudolph not be denied.

Feuds to watch in 2014

Ace Hawkins vs. Andrew Wilder

 photo IMG_7757_zpsaa68b8aa.jpg

Ace Hawkins has won the PWI Rookie of the Year and this past years the 2013 MWR Sexiest Wrestler of the Year. Andrew Wilder has won the Jr. Heavyweight title. Though we honestly did not know who Wilder really was last year during the Sexiest Wrestler of the Year voting , we quickly learned after presenting Hawkins with the award at the SBAC as he yet to stop complaining that he was not included in the contest.

Still, one can not deny that Wilder has surprisingly became Hawkins biggest challenge in the Midwest as he has been a thorn in the side of the fan favorite at each and every night the two are in the same building.

With the emotions and anger at an all-time high Wilder took the notice that Hawkins was wanting a no-DQ match for Wilder’s title. Wilder demanded that Hawkins put his “Sexiest Wrestler” award on the line against his belt.

That exciting match is set for FEB 8th and with title vs. Award on the line everyone here at Missouri Wrestling Revival is hoping that the outcome will end the yearlong hateful e-mails and rude comments from Wilder on the Sexiest Wrestler of the Year award.

SLA originals vs. the rest ??

 photo IMG_0494_zpsd8665c46.jpg

The shocking events at SLA has seen Gerald James teaming with former rival Jeremy Wyatt to stop young fan favorites Mat Fitchett and Davey Vega from becoming the kingpins of the SLA. Then James was at it again as he has brought Jordan Lacey into the fold after he showed his true colors by attacking his tag team partner Alexander Rudolph in the last moments at the Anarchy show.

What is going on and why as it seems as if the SLA Gerald James, Jeremy Wyatt, Jordan Lacey, Dorian Victor, and Greg Jovi has the SLA at their mercy?

Ricky Cruz vs. SICW management

 photo IMG_8657_zps8c612472.jpg

We have covered Cruz’s impact on the Midwest for the past couple of years at Missouri Wrestling Revival as he has touched the hearts of fans throughout the coverage area. His title reign at SICW was exciting, then he backed it up with a huge win against former NWA World Champion Adam Pearce at Dynamo that brought us to our feet, while his quick rise to challenge arch rival Jeremy Wyatt for the 3XW Championship surprised no one.

What has surprised us though was the comments and attitude of Ricky Cruz on the latest SICW Wrestling Explosion Show. Is Cruz losing it?

Editor’s note: This was wrote before the SICW show on January 18, that saw Ricky Cruz show his true colors by superkicking Ron Powers as he was the ref in Powers and Flash Flanagan’s grudge match at the standing room only at East Carondelet, Illinois.

2013 MWR Future Star of the Year Raphael King

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 4, 2014

 photo 00a_zps5ff0b2b8.jpg

Standing at 6’5 inches tall, weighing in at 245 lbs., and only 20 years of age, (Matt) Raphael King, hit the ground running hard! The St. Louis native burst onto the scene in December of 2012, and started making waves almost immediately. After only a few months, he debuted at the world renowned Ohio Valley Wrestling and made lots of noise. He didn’t stop there of course, wrestling 3, even 4 times a week, having over 150 matches in his rookie year! He quickly took his talents to numerous states throughout the Midwest.

His hard work, dedication, and passion truly showed, as in only his first year of in-ring competition, he’s worked for top notch promotions such as Harley Race’s WLW, NWA, and AIWF. . A true student of the game, he has learned under top names such as Al Snow, Dragongate’s Jon Davis and ROH’s Delirious.

Since July, King has moved to Atlanta, GA to further his career and knowledge, training under Curtis Hughes at the world renowned WWA4 wrestling school, (formerly WCW’s Power Plant). He’s also debuted for numerous new promotions in the south, injecting his talents and skill, into North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, with more states and promotions on his list to conquer. This rookie is truly the poster boy, frontman, model image if you will, of hard work, dedication, passion, sacrifice, and a true love and respect for this business. Accomplishing SO MUCH, in such a short period of time, at such a young age is more than enough to qualify this young man to be ANYONE’S Rookie of the Year. “America’s Favorite Son” Ruff Crossing is one of the few men today that has the package to match Jake Dirdens tenacity in the ring.

Jake Dirden brings the pain to Crossing in route for the PWP Title. …Could these two men be heading towards a feud that could last for years?

With P.G.P.’s Franchise title vacant going into the evening, a one night, four man tournament was set to crown a new champion. The first round pairings were Ruff Crossing vs Tyson Dux and Jake Dirden vs TaDarius Thomas. “America’s Favorite Son” Ruff Crossing was able to move passed Canadian star”Textbook”Tyson Dux in a match that pushed Ruff to his limits.

“Textbook” Tyson Dux looked to take the “America’s Favorite Son” Ruff Crossing to school early on.

Dux’s scientific mat skills were almost too much for Ruff Crossing, but the big cowboy surprised Tyson with a roll up and moved on to the evenings main event. In the other first round match “Dirdey Jake Dirden overcame TaDarius Thomas in a classic battle of size versus speed.

TaDarius Thomas is a powerful man with a huge upside. Here he wisely tries to keep Dirden grounded.

TD showed the skills that made him P.G.P.’s first Franchise Champion by bringing his “A” game, putting Dirden in a tough spot on several occasions. In the end the size and power of the 6’10” bearded wild man proved too much for TD and “Dirdey” scored a pin off a huge driving choke slam, moving him on to the championship main event. The main event was then set, Ruff Crossing versus Jake Dirden for the P.G.P. Franchise Championship. This match had no time limit or disqualification, a winner must be decided. This stipulation resulted in Dirden calling Crossing out to the floor to start the match, this was a wild street fight from the opening bell. Spilling in and through the crowd from the get go, Crossing versus Dirden was and absolute old school classic that seemed to culminate in “Dirdey” Alabama slamming Ruff through an extremely stiff table. Somehow Crossing managed to kick out on the 2 and continue the match. Unable to get the 3 count Dirden appeared shocked and seemed to be taken out of his game, this allowed Crossing the opening he needed to hit Jake with a high impact lariat and score the pin. Congratulations to Ruff Crossing, new P.G.P. Franchise Champion.

P.G.P. Cutting Edge Champion”The Apex” Blake Steel changes the tide with his power advantage.

In the surprise shake up of the evening, P.G.P. Cutting Edge Champion”The Apex” Blake Steel was taken to a 20 minute time limit draw with Zero1 X World Champion Jonathan Gresham. This was the proverbial wrestling clinic. Both men executed solid game plans, but neither could gain a submission or 3 count before the time limit expired. With the crowd wanting 5 more minutes, Gresham and Steel seemed ready to make that happen. Before the referee could call for a restart, Mario Andrew Crivello interrupted the proceedings and cashed in the Cutting Edge Golden Ticket he had won earlier in the evening. This forced Blake Steel into a second title defense against a rested and ready Crivello. After kicking out of several early pin attempts, “The Apex” began to get the best of Mario and seemed on the verge of winning, but a distracted ref left an opening for Crivello’s manager “Mouth of the Midwest” J.P. To throw powder in Steel’s eyes.
