Become a Sponsor for the 2015 MWR Awards

2015 was a great year and we here at MWR are looking forward to continuing to support pro wrestling in the Midwest today and honoring the stars of yesterday.

At the end of each year we honor the best of 2015 with the MWR Awards. The talent in the Midwest always makes this a hard decision, but there is no question that each and every winner of the 2015 MWR Awards are very deserving and a credit to their profession.

So it is at this time that we are seeking out sponsors for the following awards. The cost is only $50.00 for each ($100.00 for the MWR Tag Team)  and this provides the cost of the plaque and we are offering you advertisement on the MWR site just as we did last year for our friend Robert Hickman’s Rollin Around when they sponsored Lucy Mendez’s 2014 MWR Female Wrestler of the year at Dynamo Pro Wrestling , and fellow friends and fans Pamela Smartt and Jack Tierney who honored the 2014 MWR Future Stars Daniel Eads and Elvis Aliaga at SICW and Gateway Elite Wrestling.

Where and when we are able to present the honoree of the one that you sponsor is up to the availability and the approval of the promoters when we are able to do so. Not only will you get the advertising on the site, but you will have your choice of a MWR Yearbook from this year or the following one* (A $25.00 value).

Jack Tierney and MWR honor Elvis Aliaga with the 2014 Future Star Award at Gateway Elite Wrestling

Missouri Wrestling Revival debuted at Gateway Elite Wrestling (GEW) at the H. Toad’s (Horny Toad) Bar and Grill at the Lake Resort Spa and Yacht Club in Lake Ozark for a night of action filled with many of the top young talents in the Midwest. We were thrilled to team up with Jack Tierney who sponsored the 2014 plaque presentation with Elvis Aliaga prior to his match with the talented Mike Outlaw.

-Jake Dirden d. Brandon Aarons after a chokeslam (7:57).-Justin D’Air d. Wakai Abunai with the Buff Blockbuster (9:43).

-Jack Gamble d. Dave DeLorean via modified sunset flip pin (7:17).

-Elvis Aliaga d. Mike Outlaw after hitting him with the ringbell hammer (13:30).

-Evan Morris d. Jayden Fenix via Texas Cloverleaf to retain the NWA Missouri Title (12:07).

-High Level Enterprise (Jack Gamble and Jon Webb) d. The Black Hand Warriors (Michael Magnuson and Dave DeLorean) when Webb pinned Magnuson after a moonsault (14:27).

At Last, The 2014 Missouri Wrestling Revival Yearbook has arrived!!

It is with great excitement that I am to announce that for the very first time the 2014 MWR Yearbook will be on sale this weekend. This is the the fourth yearbook celebrating and honoring the hard work of the men and women of pro wrestling in the Midwest.

This yearbook features a great cover from our friends at Curtain Jerker Designs that jump starts an action packed 300 pages and 500 plus photos and artwork of your favorite moments in the world of wrestling in the MWR Coverage area.We are honored to have World League Wrestling announcer Dan Gier deliver an introduction for you as you will have the opportunity to check out the Year-in-review by each month. The 2014 MWR Award recipients are documented in the book as we also remember the men and women we lost in 2014. A new feature called “Who do you love”, asks some of the stars of the Midwest who their favorite wrestlers of All-time are. Mike Wilson returns with the Shooter Spotlight while the fan favorite section of friends and family is filled with many of the great people that have supported wrestling in 2014. The book also features the MWR promotions complete results and much much more.

The book would not be possible without the support and friendship of the MWR promoters. To each of them I am very thankful for helping make MWR the official voice of pro wrestling news in the Midwest. I would also like to thank the wrestlers, referees and ring announcers that have been positive with the growth of MWR. Most definitely we would like to thank all the fans and people that have helped MWR throughout the past 7 years become what one friend stated MWR has become, “An institution in the Midwest.”

History was Made in Otterville, Missouri, Devyn Nicole Wins the WLW Ladies Championship

WLW was filled with exciting and shocking moments in Otterville, Missouri last night as fans were on the edge of their seats from the start.

With the debut of WLW trainee Kyle Roberts, plus a man that my friend Jack Tierney calls the “Giant Killer” (after victories over Mark Sterling and former WLW Champion Brian Breaker) Jon Webb once again upset Sterling, and a new tag team of John E. Rock and Jamell Harris proved that they could take a beating as the Black Hand Warriors left them bloody and battered. WLW Champion Elvis Aliaga proved once again that he will do whatever it will take to hold onto his Championship as he delivered vicious shot with the belt to Jack Gamble secure a victory as referee Richard White was knocked out .

While fans had a lot to be excited about it would be a historical moment in the young career of Devyn Nicole when she was able to defeat Stacey O’Brien for the WLW Ladies Championship. Nicole who has trained under Mr. Hughes (a man that had been managed by the “Greatest Wrestler on Gods Green Earth” Harley Race in WCW.) In the past Nicole had been overmatched several times against the 2-time MWR Female Wrestler of the Year, O’Brien, but in a quick moment Nicole proved that she has the championship quality of never giving up as she was able to have her hand raised in victory.

Via the new WLW Ladies Champion Devyn Nicole Facebook page we were able to get a statement from her on her feelings of the night “Tonight, I became your WLW Women’s Champion! Special thanks to Mr. Harley Race for the opportunity to make a home with his company”

Winning a Championship is truly an accomplishment but now the young Nicole is the hunted when she walks into the danger zone in Richmond, Missouri on April 19th when the stars of WLW return. Already signed for the new Champ will be a three way match against two of the top female stars in country Stacey O’Brien and the current MWR Female Wrestler of the Year “Miss Natural” Heather Patera .
