The 2016 MWR Fans Choice for Manager, Referee and Ring Announcer Is…

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 30, 2017

MWR fans thank you so much checking out the MWR website and supporting the promotions, wrestlers and this past week the Managers, Referees and Ring Announcers. As you know most of these talented and hard working men and women are my personal friends so I am so glad that you had the decision to choose this fine award.

First off let me apologize for not setting an exact time in my post for the poll to end. I have learned my lesson and it will not happen again.

Brian Kelley -Owner and Editor of Missouri Wrestling Revival

I would like to congratulate first off Sarah Rose. In less than a year she has become a crowd favorite among the wrestling fans. MWR fans cheered her as she ring announced the last St. Louis Anarchy event as the era came to a close with Davey Vega defeating Mat Fitchett, and you can still catch her at the exciting Pro Wrestling Championship Series (PWCS). The best is yet to come for this charismatic ring announcer.

We would like to congratulate Sarah Rose as the 2016 MWR Ring Announcer of the Year.

Sarah Rose 24.89%
Don Diablo 24.66%
Ben Simon 19.51%

Lucy Mendez is a former 2-time MWR Female  Wrestler of the Year that is a double threat as a manager for the likes of Ace Steel and Elvis Aliaga. She is always one step ahead of the ref, while causing anger from the fans. Still, she has earned the respect of the fans enough to be voted as the 2016 MWR Manager of the Year.

We would like to congratulate Lucy Mendez as the 2016 MWR Manager of the Year.

Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling to Hold “Wrestling for Vets” Fundraiser Professional Wrestling Event for The Semper Fi Fund on February 12th, 2017

Posted by Ben Simon on January 29, 2017

KCXW 2/12/17

Kansas Air National Guard member Bigg Dogg to headline against “Smooth as Satin” David Cattin.  Also featuring Kansas City Champion JC Thunder, Captain Shabam, Kyle King, and more.

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The next Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling (KCXW) professional wrestling show at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in downtown Kansas City, Missouri on February 12th, 2017, will be a very special event called “Wrestling for Vets”. The proceeds from the “Wrestling for Vets” event (after covering expenses) will be donated to the Semper Fi Fund, a charity which provides financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families.

“As a disabled Vet, I personally know some of the struggles that our nation’s Veterans face.  It’s been a goal of mine since I was discharged from the Marine Corps in 2006 to help out my brothers and sisters in arms as much as possible.  Now with the success of our Pro Wrestling promotion here in KC I hope to be able to raise funds for disabled Vets and other good causes,” said KCXW President Jordan ‘Smiley’ Rogers.

With the “Wrestling for Vets” event, KCXW continues its proud history of supporting personnel from all branches of the US military.  As a retired member of the US Marine Corps, President Rogers often uses his role as head of KCXW to honor military service.  KCXW roster members Jesse “Bigg Dogg” Price, Billy “The Sarge” Cravens, and Anthony “A-Clay” Clayton are also active or retired members of the United States Armed Forces.  All three can be seen in action at the event.

“Wrestling for Vets” continues the acclaimed KCXW: Second Sundays at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, a series of premiere pro wrestling events that take place on the second Sunday of every month in 2017.  Other featured performers at “Wrestling for Vets” will include Kansas City Champion JC Thunder, as well as local wrestling stars The Marksman, “Smooth as Satin” David Cattin, Captain Shabam, Kyle King and more.

Tickets are on sale for “Wrestling for Vets” and all future KCXW events at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema through www.kcwrestling.com.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 28, 2017

tpt-curt-news

From the office of Ring of Honor

Curt “The Lone Star” Stallion enters the 2017 Top Prospect Tournament on a mission to extend his best year as a pro into a contract with Ring of Honor. Trained by former ROH World ChampionUnbreakable” Michael Elgin, Stallion is cut from the West Texas cloth of so many of the all-time greats. With the pedigree of a champion, Stallion enters the 2017 TPT with three years’ experience. One of the tournament’s youngest competitors, the Texan will have to use his wingspan, speed, and agility to make up for any experience gaps in this year’s tournament.

Stallion earned this opportunity through impressive showings in several non-televised Ring of Honor bouts. On the independents, Stallion has battled ROH stars such as Shane Taylor and Ray Rowe. Never one to back away from a fight, Stallion enters the 2017 TPT as one of its youngest competitors but one with the tournament’s highest upside. But will Stallion step up to the challenge, win the TPT, and see his promise realized? Join us at Steel City Excellence to find out!

Former MWR Future Star Raphael ‘Big Brother’ King is Ready for the ROH Top Prospect Tournament

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 27, 2017

tpt-king-news

From the official ROH Website

What earns someone the nickname “Big Brother”? Is it size? Personality? Charisma? Looking out for someone in a brotherly way?

In the case of Raphael “Big Brother” King, the charismatic leader of the Omega Nu Anax Fraternity, it doesn’t have to be just one attribute. At 6’5”, King is one of this year’s tallest, most imposing competitors in the Top Prospect Tournament. Coupled with a confidence that commands attention, King has used his physical attributes and gift of gab to fight his way to a better life.

Subscribing to his fraternity’s core values of perseverance and prosperity, Big Brother King was born and raised in a neighborhood of St. Louis where opportunities were thin; a place where there existed a constant struggle to achieve the American dream. King has achieved in a way many he grew up with did not, serving as a Big Brother in the ONA fraternity while moving quickly through the world of professional wrestling.

The 24-year old rising star is married to Devyn Nicole and the two have made marks in the worlds of business, acting, modeling. and even reality television. While there is no doubt that the two are extremely talented, some have wondered if both have been poisoned by success and vanity, perhaps disconnected from their roots as they live in luxury in the wealthy suburbs of Atlanta.

Whatever Big Brother King’s intentions are, one thing is clear: he will not take this opportunity lightly. A win in the 2017 TPT would enhance both King and Nicole’s profile across all of their business ventures and the two have been preparing while in their first-class accommodations as they travel across the country to premieres and release parties. The verdict is still out on whether or not King will stay true to his roots – will we see the benevolent young man that helped others as a Big Brother at ONA or we will see a more sinister Big Brother driven by fame and fortune? We will find out at Steel City Showdown if this blue-chip prospect has what it takes to earn a ROH contract!
