MWR’S Dubray Tallman is excited to be a part of MMWA-SICW’S final show of the year.
A packed show filled with first, feuds and a legend, there is no reason for you to miss this show that has something for everyone.
MWR will give away one free MWR Christmas bag to one lucky MMWA-SICW fan in the 50/50 drawing. So get their early and bring your Santa hat with you.
Lets look at this great card.

- The 2009 MWR Wrestler of the Year Mark Sterling returns to MMWA-SICW this weekend. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
Mark Sterling is highly considered the top wrestler in the Midwest. The current MWR Wrestler of the Year debuted a few months ago so it was with great excitement when promoter Herb Simmons and I spoke that he was to return to action at MMWA-SICW.
His will face off against the Mike Sydal.

Mike Sydal has taken on some of the best in Ring of Honor including Christopher Daniels on HDNET in 2010 (Photo Credit Scott Finkelstein)
This will be the very first time that Sydal, the 2009 Pro Wrestling Illustrated wrestler of the Year will wrestle for MMWA-SICW. Sydal has had a banner year in 2010, making his way to wrestle for Ring of Honor for several months all around the country and on Direct TV’s HDNET ROH Monday night wrestling. In Kansas City fans have seen Mike Sydal on their TV screen for Metro Pro Sports wrestling.
Now for the first time Sydal will be coming to their TV in St Louis.

- Ron Powers is one of the most intimidating men ever in the Midwest. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
Who will win this sure to be classic match and where will you be when it happens? There is only one place to be and that is in East Carondelet on Saturday.
Fans of the big men of wrestling, will have their gift in the match of Ron Powers going toe to toe with the Big Texan. These two have fought inside the ring and outside the building with no definite answer to who has the edge. The pressure will be on both men as Simmons has mandated that this be a Leather strap match.

Travis Cook and The Big Texan has gave MMWA-SICW a hard time throughout 2010. Here they have words with St Louis great Keith Smith. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
This is setting to be the war of all wars so therefore a special ref has been assigned to maintain control in this war between two behemoths.

Gary Jackson is once again the man at MMWA-SICW. This weekend he has been called on to maintain order between Ron Powers and The Big Texan. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
That man is the new MMWA-SICW Champion “Gorgeous” Gary Jackson.

Dave Vaughn had been the MMWA-SICW Champion for most of the year. Now he will have to be the hunter instead of the hunted. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
Last month tensions was up in sell crowd at East Carondelet during the battle between Dave Vaughn and Brandon Espinosa.
Vaughn is looking to regain the momentum back after losing the MMWA-SICW Championship from Espinosa’s teammate The Future” Donovan Ruddick in Travis Cook’s group ‘The Elitism’.

Espinosa is one of the very best in the game today and with Travis Cook in his corner he looks to keep Vaughn from moving back up the ladder with a big win in this 2 out of 3 falls match. Promoter Simmon’s issued a stern warning to Travis “the crook” Cook that if he interferes there will be a price to pay.

MWR'S Dubray Tallman (Photo credit Brian Kelley)
For the very first time at East Carondelet, fans will have the chance to be a part of Dubray Tallman’s Dubi meets the fans. For those who are new to the site, Dubi meets the fans gives you the chance to have your picture taken with your favorite MMWA-SICW wrestler and have it posted right here on this very site.
If you love Wrestling at the Chase, then take the time to wish Merry Christmas to the voice of Wrestling at the Chase Larry Matysik who will be in attendance. ST Louis’s own Matysik is one of the greatest people ever in the sport of wrestling and is always great with the fans.
We are also honored that MMWA-SICW has invited us for their Christmas show. Simmons sent this from the offices of MMWA-SICW. “The MMWA-SICW will be honoring the MWR for all the work they do for the wrestling industry. Its our hope a representative from MWR will attend as our guest and be recognized fo all the hard work they do.
Mark your calendar Saturday Dec, 11th at 8:00pm bell time.

2010 is near a close and the yearly awards are coming up quickly with some very tough decisions to be made from the awards committee over who will honored with the Wrestler, Tag Team, female, and promotion of the year.
So instead of worrying about who I am going to give my vote to I am going to flip the script.
I am going to make my Christmas wish of matches on this Black Friday that I would like to see in 2011.
Instead of matches that have done before I am going to do my best to name 10 matches that to my knowledge have not happen before.
So without further ado I give you my Christmas wish matches in NO certain order.
1) Bailey Mannix with Lovely Leon

- Bailey Mannix with Lovely Leon (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat )
vs.
Jaysin Strife

- Jaysin Strife (Photo Credit Gary Giaffoglione)
– It is no secret that I have mad respect for both of these competitors. These two men going at it would be a true wrestling classic. One could say that Mannix has the power advantage but Strife could be just a little faster. Neither man is afraid to get their hands dirty and brawl with the best of them. A true wrestling classic in every aspect.
2) The Barrio Boys (Angel and Domino Rivera) With Lucy Mendez

- The Extreme tag team (Photo Credit Jerry Chavez)
vs.

- Attitude Inc. (Spencer Powers and Guy Smith )
Attitude Inc. (Guy Smith and Michael Shard) – Can New Midwest Wrestling handle being EXTREME? Former ECW Original Angel and his partner Domino Rivera is two men that many promotions run and hide from signing them to the fed.
Attitude Inc appears to be all show but the Boyz would soon find out that Guy Smith and Michael Shard can go.
3) Dixieland Destroyer with The Magic Man

- The Dixieland Destroyer and the Magic Man (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
vs.

- Shane Rich (Photo by Mike Van Hoogstraat)
Shane Rich – The beauty and the Beast is what I would call this AAPW clash. Rich has the good looks and conditioning but would it be enough to overcome the hillbilly power of the Destroyer.
4) Donovan Ruddick

- Mephisto feels the power of Donovan Ruddick.
vs.
Abu Colossus

- Abu Colossus delivers the pain on Preston Maxwell(Photo Credit Gary Giaffoglione)
– OK I have been begging for this match for a long time now. Don’t believe me click here to read a former article of mine that sets this match up perfectly. With Ruddick on the verge to explode would Colossus put out the spark first.
5) The Hooligans (Devin and Mason Cutter)

- The Hooligans
vs.
The Gentleman’s Club (Casanova and Devin Carter) with Todd Countryman.

- The Gentleman’s Club (Casanova and Devin Carter)
– The Hooligans have been almost everywhere but they have not been to the 2008 MWR Promotion of the Year 3XWrestling. With the Gentleman’s club running hot shot over everyone would the Hooligans be able to sway the good fortunes over fan favorites? Or would the mastermind Todd Countryman make them his next victim.
6) Lucy Mendez

- Lucy Mendez has come on strong in 2010.
vs.
Santana G

- Santana has teamed with some top talent in 2010 but she has yet to win the WLW Womens title.
– Two of the most popular women in the Midwest today. Mendez has had all the eyes on her at Metro Pro Wrestling. What if the Midwest Sweetheart was to show up? No women I know wants competition and the real winners in this battle would be us the fans.
7) Jeremy Wyatt

- Every young wrestlers nightmare Jeremy Wyatt (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
vs.

- Evan Money
Evan Money-
To become the best that you can be you have to work your way to the top. Money the teenage heart throb has had a solid year in 2010. Wyatt is considered by many to be the best in the game today. You say Money has no chance to survive against “The Rebel”. In Money’s defense he has earned some tough wins but this would be a measuring stick for one of the Midwest hottest young stars. My advice Money, if you have a belt stay far away from “The Belt Collector” Jeremy Wyatt.
8) Dan Walsh

- Dan Walsh
vs.

- Rory Fox
Rory Fox
-MTV vs MTV – Rory Fox gained national fame as one of the featured personalities on MTV’s True Life while Dan the Danimal” Walsh starred in MTV’s Road Rules. Need I say more.
9) Steve Fender and Mark Sterling

- Steve Fender and Mark Sterling (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)
vs.
BroMance Jordan McEntyre and Knight Wagner with Eryn

– Different styles for sure, Fender and Sterling are no nonsense hit you in the mouth tag team in the style of Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard while BroMance is….well they are BroMance a team with a lot of flash but can blind you with their double team abilities.
10) Trevor Murdoch

vs

Jonathan Magnus with Stephani King
Jonathan Magnus with Stephani King- No one likes a bully and that is what Magnus is at New Midwest Wrestling. A big man pushing his weight around to keep the NMW title around his waist. I don’t think that Murdoch would be so easy to push around. A match that would be talked about for ages in Springfield Illinois for years to come.
In my personal stocking match-

Crimefighter gets Eric Allens attention
Crimefighter’s chosen wrestler vs. The Pride of Peroia Eric Allen – A perfect match for NMW. It has been over a year ago that we took a look at the contriversal Eric Allen and his supposed win for the “Peorian Pride Championship”, ST louis Wrestling communities Crimefighter called foul quickly. Words and tempers flared between the two in the past but what if the red hot Eric Allen was to show his face in Springfield Illinois at the heart of Crimefighter’s coverage area?
A special attraction match for sure.
Other notable matches
The Cancun Kid vs. Kwong with Chad Mylan
Jason Jones vs. Ryan Phoenix
Preston Maxwell vs. Homicidal Steven Davis
Billy McNiel vs Zach Thompson
Curly vs #1 Brett Young
Jimmy Rockwell vs Brandon Espinosa
Pete Madden vs. Dave Vaughn
Matty Starr vs. Danny Cannon
Tony Cortez vs Brandon Aarons
Dan the Man vs Alexander Rudolph
Bobby Houston vs. Derek Stone
Christian Rose vs. Chris Havius
Bumrush Brothers vs The Beautiful Bodies
Eric Logan vs Tyler Cook
Ron Powers vs. Brian Ash
Donnie Peppercricket vs. Davey Vega
Kory Twist vs. Father Jack Mecidol

MWR fans you will not want to miss out this weekend as MMWA-SICW is back in action with not one, not two but three matches that promises to be a must see.
If you love big men than you will love the match between Ron Powers and The Big Texan. As my friend Herb Simmons said “ This match is shaping up to be the block buster of the year. The Big Texan is ready to do an all war with Powers.” Powers has stated he is ready to leave the Big Man flat on his back in the ring or in the parking lot.

The Big Texan and Ron Powers this weekend will be a match between two of the biggest men in the Midwest. Who will have their hand raised at the end of the Night?(Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat )
Another heavyweight match pits “The Future” Donovan Ruddick in a rematch with Chris Hargas.Ruddick was furious that Hargas was able to get the pinfall on him in a tag match last year so he demanded that his manager Travis “The Crook” Cook grant him a chance to get his revenge.

Chris Hargas took the fight to the Future Donovan Ruddick last month. Look for Ruddick to make a statement but do not count out the impressive young Hargas. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat )
Has Hargas derailed Ruddick on his way to the MMWA-SICW Championship?
Last but not least the Champ Dave Vaughn’s title will be in jeopardy when he goes up against fan Favorite Danny Boy. Danny Boy was granted the title shot when he was able to get his hand raise against Gary Jackson via DQ.

Danny Boy was impressive in his match against the Great One Gary Jackson. Can Danny Boy defeat the MMWA-SICW Champion Dave Vaughn?(Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat )
Jackson has been very vocal about the outcome and has vowed to get even with Danny Boy.

Can Danny Boy get the title off of Vaughn before that happens?

Keith Smith, Danny Boy & ‘Gorgeous’ Gary Jackson defeated Shaft, Dave Vaughn & MMWA-SICW Heavyweight Champion Phil E. Blunt (special referees Tony Casta & ‘Big’ Jim Brown) in a 6-Man Tag Team Elimination Match at 32:50 when Smith finished off Shaft with a UFC-style leglock. After the match, the entire Connection attacked Smith ruthlessly (Jackson was eliminated early on in the match and was in the shower preparing to leave) in the ring. Danny Boy had his hands full but the former Champion did overcome the bad guys and save Keith.

“Cowboy” Bob Orton made a special appearance in East Carondelet, IL to help “Night Train” Gary Jackson take on Jerome Cody and Phil E. Blunt. With a jam-packed audience at the East Carondelet Community Center, MMWA-SICW put on a show that had the fans on the edge of their seats.
Anticipation buzzed through the building, as Orton made his way to the ring for the main event steel cage match. With Commissioner Keith Smith as the special referee—and his conflicts with The Connection well-known—nobdoy left their seat. Cody tried to end the match abruptly as he went to climb out of the cage the moment the bell rang. Jackson put a quick stop to Cody’s foolishness and proceeded with the match. As Blunt tagged in, he gained control and cornered the recently tagged Orton. Being such, Jackson made the save for the legend, giving Orton the upper hand. In traditional ‘Cowboy’ fashion, he used the legendary cast and gained control. However, the match soon turned against them, but not for long. Jackson once again came to Orton’s aid and cleaned house, thus allowing Orton to secure victory for his team, as Jackson took out Cody.
As a stipulation for the match, if The Connection lost, their manager, Travis Cook, had to be in the ring with Orton for five minutes. At first Cook tried to take advantage, but to no avail. This time slot was apparently a match, and Orton pinned Cook in just over four minutes.
Following the main event, Shaft came out and claimed that his new year’s resolution would start on Jan. 10, when he “puts Jackson down for the one, two, three.”
A former MMWA-SICW Heavyweight Champion in Jeremy Lightfoot took on Eric Brewer in the previous bout. Brewer gained an early advantage with the first takedown, but Lightfoot quickly worked his way out of Brewer’s grasp and hit Brewer with his signature chops. By the five minute mark, Lightfoot gained control, but not for long. Neither man attained a clear advantage but both scored a number of two counts. In the end, Lightfoot won via pinfall at 13:24.
Bobby D had his hands full against the Junior Heavyweight Champion A.J. Williams. Despite one’s initial thoughts, D controlled a good portion of the match, until Williams connected with a Harley Race-like high knee and an elbow drop from the top rope. Williams only received a two-count on this excursion, but it did not deter him. He continued punishing D, even taking it outside of the ring. Much to the displeasure of the fans, the match ended in a no-contest because neither man returned to the ring prior to the 10 count.
One of Shaft’s biggest tests to date came in the form of The Big Texan, accompanied by Waco. Shaft would have had an easier time of trying to dismantle Texan if Waco had not been present. The ‘mini-Texan’ interfered on separate occassions, causing Referee Jim Harris to throw him out. Shaft tried to utilize that window of opportunity and capitalize, but Texan’s power overwhelmed him. Shaft’s determination was put to the test yet again, and he passed with flying colors; he regained his focus and locked Texan in his signature ankle lock. Inspite of this, Texan had the wherewithall to esacpe the maneuver, and the match progressed, with both men vying for the upper hand, which neither gained, and the competition ended in a draw at the 15-minute time limit.
The previous bout tested the luchador Chucho’s high-flying antics against the more ‘pound and ground’ style of “Wild Child” Billy Diamond, accompanied by Lightfoot. Chucho and Diamond both had their moments to shine, as Chucho connected with a second-rope moonsault and Diamond caught the luchador in a devastating ankle lock. After five minutes, Diamond had Chucho grounded, but Chucho swiftly sent Diamond out of the ring with a hurricanrana. The resiliency of Diamond shined bright, as he went back to work on the knee/ankle region and thus earned the pinfall at 9:41.
The ‘Middle-Eastern Menace’ Saladin took on a fan favorite in Mr. Bibbs. Saladin controlled the opening stages of the bout, but Bibbs’ tenacity soon took over, and Saladin never had a chance to recover. Ten minutes in, Saladin inadvertently hit his head on the ring post, which allowed Bibbs to catch Saladin off-guard. In the end, Bibbs’ brute force was no match for Saladin, who lost to the MMWA-SICW veteran in 12:11.
One of the company’s newest athletes, Blade, put his skills up against those of Waco, who had The Big Texan at ringside. Perhaps fearing that the newcomer would out-wrestle him, Waco called upon Texan to interfere and tip the scales in his favor, so to speak. Nonetheless, that was not necessary because they appeared evenly matched. As the match came to a close, Waco had a distinct advantage over Blade, but Blade quickly gained momentum—as if from nowhere—and defeated Waco.
The MMWA-SICW returns to the South Broadway Athletic Club in St. Louis, MO on Jan. 10 and the East Carondelet Community Center on Jan. 17.
