IHW Video recap from June 12 with words from Mr. Late Nite, Sean Vincent and Bailey Mannix.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 5, 2010

Match description from Patrick Brandmeyer.

Music from Twisted Sister

The Future” Donovan Ruddick d. Doug E. Best with the Iconoclasm.

Mephisto & Justin Wade d. Cabal & Brandon Graves(w/ Mr. Late-Nite & Michael Gideon Morbid) when Mephisto pinned Cabal with a sunset flip off the top rope. Mr. Late-Nite fired Cabal after the match and Graves & Morbid beat down their former stablemate.

Butch Fletcher made his first appearance at a local wrestling show in several years to be the guest ring announcer…

Evan Money d. Jordan McEntyre via frog splash to advance in the St. Louis Invitational Tournament.

Sean Vincent d. Adam Rich with a mulekick and rollup(with a handful of tights) to advance in the tournament.

Steven Kennedy d. Kurt Styles by DQ to advance in the tournament; the referee took a chair away from SSK and he got out some powder…but when the referee turned back to the action, Kennedy had thrown the powder in his OWN face, making the referee think that Styles had done the deed and leading to the disqualification.

Mickie Knuckles d. Mia Martinez with a belly-to-belly suplex off the top rope.

Tony Kozina d. Bailey Mannix(w/ Leon Alexander) by DQ when Mannix hit Kozina with a chain. Mannix continued the assault after the match and even hung Kozina over the ropes with the chain!

BIlly McNeil d. Chris Logan with a corkscrew splash off the top rope to advance in the tournament.

-Sean Vincent won a four-way dance to become the IHW Invitational Tournament champion. Money eliminated Kennedy with a running shooting star press, then Vincent pinned Money after the Death Valley Driver. McNeil nearly scored the win, but Vincent cut him off on the ropes and finished him with a hanging DDT to capture the trophy.

-Heavyweight Champion Brandon Aarons fought Illinois Champion Eric Allen to a draw in a last-man-standing mach. Allen attempted to superplex Aarons onto several chairs in the ring, but Aarons fought out of the predicament and sunset-bombed Allen onto the chairs. However, neither man could get up before the ten-count and the match was ruled a draw. Bailey Mannix rushed the ring and attacked Aarons, giving him a brainbuster onto the chairs…he kept up the beating until the locker room emptied to restore order, forcing Mannix and Allen to retreat…

During the match, Strife was down on the outside and Jayden Draigo came out and superkicked Cortez in the face! Strife did not see this and covered Cortez, but Tony was able to kick out. Sir Bradley Charles (Photo Credit Gary Giaffoglione)

The 10th card of the Missouri Wrestling Trading Card series was none other than the current Ring of Honor World Champion Tyler Black. Many wrestling experts in the Midwest feel as if the man that is honored with the number 11 MWR card has all the tools to make to the top of the sport as well.

That mans name is Sir Bradley Charles, a name you may not be too familiar with yet!

Sir Bradley Charles or SBC is a second generation athlete who has excelled in football, baseball and was an important member of his high schools soccer team that would go on to win a State Championship.

SBC is a student of the game and could not have a better trainer than Lance Storm Wrestling Training Academy. Since then SBC has wrestled in Canada and Australia before making his way back to the Midwest. In a short time SBC has turned heads at 3XWrestling, Pro Wrestling Phoenix, High Voltage Wrestling, Metro Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Epic.

We are excited to have royalty in Sir Bradley Charles as a part of the Missouri Wrestling Trading card set.

MWR news brief: Ace Hawkins makes his pro wrestling debut

Posted by reimaginejournalism on June 30, 2010

Ace Hawkins fights off Brandon Espinosa (Photo sent via Ace Hawkins)

By Kari Williams

Ace Hawkins trained just shy of three years for his moment. And that moment arrived DATE in IWA-Productions in Olney, Ill. as he faced off against “Thee” Brandon Espinosa.

The match lasted approximately 10 minutes, and Espinosa came out on top, according to Hawkins.

“I felt it was a great first match,” Hawkins said. “Espinosa is great in the ring. I would [have] won had [it] not been for the chain-wrapped fist to the face.”

Hawkins said he would love to wrestle all over the world, but for now he is taking things as they come.

“I’m taking this all one step at a time and focusing on the task at hand,” Hawkins said, “And that’s proving myself as the best up an comer junior division wrestler ever.”

Hawkins began his training in 2007 and by January 2008 made the transition to Dynamo Pro through July 2009. He currently trains at South Broadway Athletic Club; he began training there this year. Hawkins has had five matches since his debut.
