2010 MWR Future Star of the Year -Sir Bradley Charles

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 26, 2011

By Brian Kelley

Fans of Missouri Wrestling Revival have often asked for us to have a Rookie of the Year award. After some serious thoughts, we thought it may be easier to honor that one guy or women who we feel has the talent, skills and work ethic to make it to the next level in our sport.

Easy was by far the wrong word, after taking some time to look all around the Midwest I quickly realized that there are most defintly some hard working wrestlers with skills and talent galore.

That’s why I have to believe that this award is very deserving. The MWR Fans are full aware of the talents of Mark Sterling and Jeremy Wyatt, both former MWR Wrestlers of the Year but this is for that guy who could very well be a future MWR Wrestler of the Year and more importantly have a chance to sign with the WWE.

So without further ado, we are proud to announce the first ever MWR Future Star- Sir Bradley Charles

Sir Bradley Charles made his way to Canada to train with Lance Storm at his Wrestling Academy. Charles has worked overseas before heading back home to The King’s Court of Kansas City.

In the Midwest SBC has made his way to work a who’s who of promotions in the MWR Coverage area including HVW, PWP,3XW,NWA Dynamo and has been OVER in his hometown of Kansas City with the upstart promotion Metro Pro Wrestling.

SBC chants are often heard during his matches with some of the very best in the Midwest including Domino Rivera, Shane Hollister, Mike Sydal, Flash Flannigan and Jayden Draigo.

Recently he has been at odds with Mark Sterling in a battle over the crossfit training. Sir Bradley Charles would come up short in the challenge but there is no doubt that he is a first round pick in any promotion in the Midwest.

While SBC has youth on his side, it’s the desire to become better with each and every match that allows promoters and the fans to see that “it” factor just waiting to explode.

It is with great pleasure that we name Sir Bradley Charles as the first MWR Future Star award. J

Can Stacey O’Brien return to Championship form in 2011?

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 25, 2011

Fans have been excited at Metro Pro Wrestling to meet the former MWR Female Wrestler of the Year Stacey O'Brien (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

This past week MWR made our way to Metro Pro Wrestling in Kansas City and one of the matches that we had on our radar was Lucy Mendez vs. Stacey O’Brien.

The two Midwest knockouts had gone to battle late last fall with Mendez taking the former MWR Female of the Year to school by beating her convincingly.

O’Brien was coming off of an injury that sidelined her for over year, showed ring rust in that first match, went back to the drawing board training relentlessly for their rematch.

Was O’Brien able to even the score on the hottest female wrestler in the Midwest, Lucy Mendez? Or did Mendez continue her winning streak?

You will have to watch Metro Sports at Saturday night at 11pm on Metro Sports (find your channel below) with a replay on Wednesday at 11pm!

MWR Trading card #34 –U-GENE Dinsmore

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 23, 2011

Art work courtesy of Rob Schamberger, artist for the wrestling comic “The Promotion”

We are excited to announce that number 34 in the MWR Trading card series is one of the most entertaining wrestlers to step into the wrestling ring.

Fans around the world know him as U-Gene a former WWE Superstar that has brought laughter and excitement in his matches.

In 2004 U-gene burst onto the scene Eric Bischoff’s cousin who wanted to be a wrestler much to Bischoff’s chagrin. In an attempt to force U-Gene to quit wrestling, Bischoff assigned William Regal to watch over U-Gene and convince him to quit.

U-gene would find help from none other than that Rock, and a misguided attempt to aligned himself with Triple H and Evolution.

Evolution would show their true colors with Triple H getting the upper hand in their fued. Eugene would focus his attention on “Uncle” Eric in a hair vs. hair match, humiliating Bishoff.

A carer highlight came when he would team up with Williams Regal to win the WWE Tag Team Titles.

A fued with Kurt Angle in “the Kurt Angle Invitational” to win his gold medal.

Now fans of the lovable and fun U-Gene has a chance to own U-Gene’s very own MWR Trading Card for yourself.

The artwork of  U-Gene Dinsmore is from the hottest comic in the Midwest, The Promotion. The Promotion is drawn from none other than Rob Schamberger.

February 16th: Independent wrestling (Dragon Gate USA, EVOLVE & CHIKARA) standout “The Whole Shebang” Johnny Gargano will make his IWA Unlimited debut.

March 16th: Former WWE Superstar (Smackdown’s Scotty Goldman) and international wrestling star “Classic” Colt Cabana comes to IWAU and will no doubt entertain the fans like no other. He brings a level of talent the likes that IWAU fans or wrestlers have not seen before.

March 23rd: Worldwide wrestling phenomenon, Ricochet will fly by (pun completely intended). Ricochet is one of the most entertaining high flyers in the wrestling industry today and is a world class athlete. Right now, he is on his second tour of Japan. He will surely be looking to compete with the best of the best.

April 9th: Speaking of “the best of the best”, a man who many fans, critics and wrestlers alike view as “The Best in the World” will make his debut for IWAU. That man is none other than the “American Wolf” himself, Davey Richards. Much like our other guests, Davey will undoubtedly be looking to compete with the best IWAU has to offer.

April 13th: The highly entertaining and incomparable Chuck Taylor will make his way to Olney for action in an IWAU ring as well. Chuck, like many of our other guests, has wrestled for many of the top promotions in the United States but has also wrestled in Japan. The man known as “Sexy Chuckie T” will bring a level of comedy and skill that some of our other guests can’t provide.

Big things are in store for our fans and our wrestlers in IWAU. In the upcoming weeks and months, the announcements of what these amazing, one of a kind performers will be doing when the come to Olney will be announced.

Keep an eye out! Spread the word! Defend IWAU!

Then in the main event between fan favorite Edmund “Livewire” McGuire and Eric Wayne for the number one contender for the AAPW belt currently held by The Serial Thriller Shane Rich, he caught the MWR Shirt worn by McGuire as he entered the ring.
