Chad Mylan leads the “Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong in battle against Jimmy Rockwell around the Midwest.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 17, 2010

By Brian Kelley

Throughout the history of wrestling, there have been wrestlers that sought out the help from the self claimed masterminds to give them the edge in their quest to become the best.

The Grand Wizard led both Stan “The Man” Stasiak and Superstar Billy Graham to WWWF Championships. Fred Blassie made the term “pencil-neck geek” famous and shocked the world in 1982 when his man the Iron Shiek defeated Bob Backland to win the WWF, thus endings Backlands title reign of nearly six years in 1983,

Throughout the 80’s colorful managers such as Capt. Lou Albano, Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart were household names in the sport. JJ Dillion led the Four Horseman to glory and in doing so changed the sport as we know it. Tag Teams would become legendary with the minds of Paul E. Dangerously Jim Cornette calling the shots.

Now Midwest Wrestling fans I give you Chad Mylan……Chad Mylan the voice of 3XW you say?? Well just in case you have been living under a rock for the past few months, Chad Mylan has made a stir all the way from Des Moines Iowa to the St Louis area with his protégé Ricky Kwong.

At 3xw in August “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong (with “The Laotian Liasion” Chad Mylan) defeated “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell by “submission” to become the NEW Pure Wrestling champion in perhaps the biggest travesty in the history of 3XW. Mylan explained before the bout that he used his financial resources to arrange for a special guest referee – Todd Countryman!

Despite the 3-on-1 odds, Rockwell forced Kwong to submit to a Boston Crab at one point in the match, only for Countryman to take the mic and explain that “that version of the Boston Crab is illegal in Des Moines, Iowa” and restarted the match. Shortly after, Kwong applied the Lethal Laotian Lock to Rockwell, and with Rockwell reaching for the ropes, Mylan jumped on the apron and used his whole body to pull the bottom rope way from Rockwell’s grasp. Out of frustration, Rockwell slapped the mat, causing Countryman to call for the bell on account of Rockwell “tapping out.”

The very next month Chad Mylan led Ricky Kowng ina quick win over “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson in seconds after nailing Masterson with a crane kick immediately after Masterson excitedly hugged the ring announcer after entering the ring. Before the bout, Mylan took the mic and explained that 3XW Commissioner Todd Countryman wasn’t giving Jimmy Rockwell a rematch tonight due to Rockwell assault him last month, so Mylan arranged a new challenger.

After the match, Midnight Guthrie came to ringside and handed ring announcer Daryl Moon a note from the Board of Directors that stated “while the Board respected Countryman’s decision, it had arranged a suitable replacement to challenge Kwong for the belt,” leading to……Ricky Kwong successfully defended the title over the returning Darin Corbin by pinfall after interference from Chad Mylan. Despite the loss, Corbin really impressed the crowd in his return. After the match, Kwong continued to attack Corbin, only for Jimmy Rockwell to run out and make the save.

Many many miles away Chad Mylan was up to his old tricks at MECW when he tricked MECW Independent Champion Gabriel Brimstone to sign the contract for the rematch, he didn’t notice the clause that Kwong could choose the stipulation…and he chose Mylan as the special guest referee. Mylan was as impartial as you might expect, developing an arm cramp during the pin cover after Brimstone hit the DDT. Kwong rolled up Brimstone with a handful of tights and Mylan fast-counted the pin to become the new MECW Champion.

In Ricky Kwongs first title defense it would be his former Tag team partner and now arch enemy Jimmy Rockwell challenging him, with Mylan on his side on that night Kwong would have his hand raised.

This Saturday MECW returns to action in Wood River Illinois, what will Chad Mylan and Ricky Kwong be up to next?? Be there and find out…..

Wrestling fans in Des Moines Iowa get your tickets for a barn burner when these two meet once again in one of the top feud running today at 3XW on November 5th.

We caught up with both of these great competitors recently and they had these words for the MWR Fans. Editors Note I Found it interesting that Ricky Kwong is both the 3XW Pure Wrestling Champion and the MECW Independent Champion but Chad Mylan still goes on and on about Ricky Kwong not getting any chances?? What?

High Voltage Wrestling Champions Kahagas and the Hooligans return’s this weekend.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 14, 2010

This weekend join Missouri Wrestling Revival in Glen Carbon Illinois when High Voltage Wrestling teams up with NWA Dynamo for a star filled event.

First off the 2009 MWR Wrestler of the Year and current NWA Central States Champion Mark Sterling will defend his title against the returning powerhouse Kevin X.

NWA Dynamo Pro and High Voltage Wrestling team up on Saturday October 16th at the Sports Academy in Glen Carbon, Il. to celebrate HVW’s second anniversary with a night of exciting action.

Already signed to the card NWA Central States Champion Mark Sterling takes on the returning Kevin X.

Kevin has been away from the ring for awhile but returned to action for the first time back at the August 28th Dynamo Pro event. With his impres…sive debut a new challenge stands in his way. The current reigning NWA Central States Champion Mark Sterling. Kevin has tasted gold before and now wants to satisfy the hunger that has been reawakened.

Also the HVW Heavyweight championship will be on the line when the Champion “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas defends against “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt.

Wyatt has been surfing a wave of impressive wins as of late.

With a pinfall win over NWA Missouri Champion Davey Vega at the August 16th event during a tag match that saw both Wyatt and Sterling teaming together to take on Vega and Trent Stone. Wyatt has proven once again that he is a force to be reckoned with and he intends to add the HVW Title to his ever growing collection of Championships.

What started as a respectful match between s “the Human Wrecking Ball” Pete Madden and Super Castladi 13 was ended abruptly when Alexandre Rudolph along with Sadie Blaze rushed the ring and brutally attacked Madden. Rudolph was out to make a name for himself by taking out the STL wrestling legend when Kory Twist made his way to the ring and confronted Rudolph. Just a few seconds of exchanges were seen before both Rudolph and Blaze retreated from the ring leaving Twist standing tall and wanting to return to wrestling after 4 years to face Rudolph man to man in the ring.

Twist commented that if Rudolph wants to try and make name for himself at the expense of others it will not start with Pete Madden.

Last but not least October 16th will mark another return as the 2009 MWR Tag Team of the Year the Hooligans will defend their HVW Tag team titles and be on hand to receive their MWR Plaques.

STL cult legend Pete Madden has won the fans over in Kansas City with Metro Pro Wrestling, He will be in action this Saturday at NWA Dynamo and High Voltage Wrestling. If you have doubts of the mans talent lets take a look at Madden in action against one half of the Barrio Boys Domino Riveria who is led by the Latino knockout Lucy Mendez.

STL Fans check Madden this weekend in Glen Carbon Illinois and KC Fans Metro Pro Wrestling returns on November 6th.

Metro East Championship Wrestling Photo recap from Wood River, IL on 9/25

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 12, 2010

By Brian Kelley

Last Month we made our way back to MECW in Wood river Illinois for a great night of wrestling. A fun filled card with two men that has to be mentioned as MWR Wrestlers of the Year for 2010 Bailey Mannix and Eric Allen. These two have been friends at times but the desire to be the MECW Championship has been too much for them to maintain the good feelings in the ring.

One of the most entertaining duo in the game is the MECW Tag Team Champions Jordan McEntrye & Knight Wagner otherwise known as Bromance. Led by the vixen Eryn they look to hold onto the titles for a long time. Their biggest test to date is the Bowery Brawlers , consisting of Maddog McDowell and Mauler McDarby. Can Bromance keep this young team at bay?

For the first time I was on hand to see the new MECW Independent Champion Ricky Kwong led by his manager Chad Mylan. Mylan has been a handful at 3XW in Iowa and the drive all the way to Illinois has not calmed the eccentric manager. Can former champion Gabriel Brimstone or fan favorite Jimmy Rockwell spoil Mylan’s plans to take over MECW?

Chris L.O.G.A.N has been very impressive in his short time at the MWR coverage area, taking on the likes of Mannix and Tony Kozina. He is able to over power you and punish you with multiple suplexs. Look for big things to come from this man.

Sarin Sinn brought in some muscle from Chicago with the debut of Mike Anthony. What will the veteran Anthony have in mind for his future at MECW?

.
Can the Youth sensation Evan Money rebound after coming up short last month in his bid for the MECW Title?

This and much more is why you should check out MECW in WoodRiver on October 23rd.

Bailey Mannix d. Chris Logan
Ryan Slade d. Devin Carter by DQ
MECW Champs Jordan McEntrye & Knight Wagner pinned Maddog McDowell & Mauler McDarby
Zach Thompson d. Matt Mayday
MECW Indy Champ Ricky Kwong d. Jimmy Rockwell
The Texas Longhorn & Jon West d. Mike Anthony & Sarin Sinn by DQ
MECW Heavyweight Champ Eric Allen d. Evan Money

The fright night that was 3XWrestling

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 11, 2010

BY Mark Campos

A frightfully packed crowd witnessed an extravaganza of terror that was “Halloween Horror 4”. Those who survived another thrilling night of pro wrestling action from 3XWrestling will never be the same again! What could have caused such madness? Read on if you dare……….

Before “Halloween Horror 4” started there was pre-show match that featured the ever popular Tyler Cook going against the Las Vegas cowboy Brady A. Dezire. This was great match to add before the show started and if you want to see the result check it out at 3XWreslting.com as this bout will be featured on their next monthly web show “Outside the Ring”.

To start the show officially they began with the always exciting over the top rope battle royal. Many of 3XW’s wrestlers tried to be the last man in the ring as the winner then got a shot at the 3XW Heavyweight title later on in the night. In the end it was down to Brian Ash, “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson and “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade. Ash tossed Thompson over the top rope only then to be pushed over by Slade who was the victor. The champ, Rory Fox, came out to congratulate Slade but was suddenly attacked from behind by Ash. As Fox lay wounded on the mat Slade stood over him holding the belt above his head in all his glory.

We were then treated to the Tag Team championship match with current champs “The Gentlemen’s Club” taking on “The Horn Dogs”. “Delicious” Devin Carter and Casanova vigorously tried to get an upper hand on “The Horn Dogs” but with Krotch and Maddog McDowell fully intent on winning the titles it seemed all their efforts were pointless. But being the dirty, underhanded cheats that they are “The Gentlemen’s Club” retained their belts when Carter delivered a very low blow from behind to McDowell to get the pin.

Up next was the 3XW Pure Wrestling Champion “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong defending his belt against “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson. As always Kwong was lead to the ring by his manger and “Founder of MMA” Chad Mylan who is never at a loss for words when it comes to his wrestlers. Unfortunately for Masterson this may have been the shortest match in 3XW history as Kwong delivered a karate kid style crane kick from the start to get any easy one, two, three.

Midnight Guthrie then made an unannounced appearance and stated that the 3XW board of directors has given Kwong another opponent for the night that being one half of the Northstar Express, Darin Corbin! The crowd was on fire as Corbin charged the ring taking Kwong by surprise. The see saw battle was almost won by Corbin but with interference by his manager Kwong was able to get in a shot below the midsection and ultimately win the contest. Not happy with the win Kwong and Mylan started to stomp on Corbin again but “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell came out to make the save.

The grudge match was up next as Brian Ash took on his former student “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson. Even after colliding in the battle royal Thompson was going a hundred miles an hour at Ash from all corners of the ring. Ash seemed to be flustered at first but was able to regain his composure and use his strength and size to his advantage. As always though Ash had his manager “The Commissioner” Todd Countryman at his size and when Thompson almost got a pin Countryman attacked him with his loaded briefcase. Thompson was able to get the briefcase and with the ref distracted nailed Countryman and Ash and got the pin! Men gave standing ovations and women wept with joy as this win brings back Mike Sydal to 3XW and reuniting the fan favorite tag team “The High Flyers”.

After intermission was the match that has had the pro wrestling world buzzing for the last month. Mark Sterling and “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt wanted to settle their feud with a two out of three falls match to determine who the best wrestler in the Midwest is. After having split their wins at 3XW with one a piece this match is to be their final showdown. This war was back and forth from the get go but Sterling punished Wyatt severely and was able to get the first pin. The second pinfall came almost instantly as Wyatt pulled Sterling down for a quick roll up and the win. With the next pinfall being the final one these two outstanding wrestlers would not stay down despite delivering devastating maneuvers and finishers. The end came when Sterling attempted to spear Wyatt but ran head first into a steel chair! Wyatt then put on the Markshooter (aka Sharpshooter) as the ref lifted Sterling’s hand three times and called the match as he appeared to be unconscious. Wyatt then had the nerve to shake Sterling’s hand as he lay knocked out on the canvas and thus declaring this war over.

We then had the privilege of watching “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell manhandle White Lightning. Prior to the start of the match the reprehensible Chad Mylan came out to offer White Lightning a contract if he could beat and injury Rockwell. Rockwell came out and proved one again that he is a top contender for the Pure Wrestling championship belt and his Rock on Bomb finisher will put out any challenger.

Another tag team bout was featured on this card as Sir Bradley Charles and “The American Fury” Jon West took on the team of American Ground and Pound. This one sided fight ended badly for West as Ben Sailer hosted him on his shoulders while Nate Bash flew for the top turnbuckle hitting a beautiful crossbody that gave them the win. Bash and Sailer, who make up American Ground and Pound, seem to be agitated by fans as of late and have started using some underhanded tactics to their advantage in the ring.

The final match of the night pitted the 3XW Heavyweight champion, Rory Fox, against the battle royal winner, Ryan Slade. Slade has shown improvement throughout his time in 3XW and his Canadian Destroyer finisher is devastating. Fox, being a well groomed veteran, kept Slade on his toes in this fight as they were giving everything they had and then some. This included “The Gentlemen’s Club” making a surprise ring side appearance that distracted Fox and the referee and gave Slade the opportunity to break his Canadian flagpole over Fox’s back. Unbelievably Fox kick out of the pin attempt and was able to move out of the way from Slade’s top rope splash. This allowed Fox to hit him with his Fox bomb and get the cover for the one, two, three. Fox celebrated in the ring and with fans while Ryan Slade left for the back with his Canadian flag between his legs.
