Trevor Murdoch introduces a future second generation superstar.

MWR was honored to catch up with the current World League Wrestling and Metro TV Champion recently at the WLW/Noah camp.

Though Murdoch has been an ornery son of a gun in Kansas City with the hottest young promotion in the KC area , while back home at his roots he has been more at ease taking on all challengers to his belt including Trent Stone, Brian Breaker and Jason Jones in recent months while being in good spirts with the fans.

We took advantage of that situation and got this message from the former 3 time WWE World Tag Team Champion along with a special guest.

Midwest Wrestling fans Trevor Murdoch will be in action for Metro Pro Sports on November 6th for another fun filled TV Taping.

Modern Championship “Lightning Strikes Twice.” Recap

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 23, 2010

Modern Championship Wrestling returned to the Walsworth Community Center in Marceline Mo. over this past weekend with a show called “Lightning Strikes Twice.”

The crowd was hot and loud all night long, and were greeted to start the show by MCW Promoter Dustin Watson interviewing “The Iceman” Howard Moritz. Moritz announced his intention to climb the ranks in MCW, and was cut off by MCW Champion Brian Blade. Blade was accompanied by his bodyguard Flex, and the two promptly attacked The Iceman.

After their attack on Moritz, they mentor and student turned their gaze on Promoter Watson. Despite an attempt at a getaway, Blade and Flex were en route to dismantling the promoter, when Jack “The Hangman” Norton made the save. Watson then set up a bout between the team of Blade and Flex against Norton and Moritz.

The opening bout of the evening saw Tony Raze, the corrupt prison guard, take on Pablo the Puerto Rican Poolboy. This was the first contest ever for the Poolboy, who fell victim to Raze and was put on Lockdown.

The second bout saw the return of The Assassin, who took on Tommy Snow. Tommy picked up the win after reversing the chokeslam attempt of the Assassin.

The cries of “Arriba!” filled the air next, as Angel de la Muerte took to the ring to do battle with Cephus the Serial Killer. The deranged Cephus found little to no joy in Angel’s shenanigans, and fell victim to the luchadore in the end. After Promoter Watson lured the psychopath to the back, he, Senior Referee Justin Peacock, and Angel de la Muerte celebrated with some festive dancing in the ring.

After the intermission, JB Payne “The Midwest Mauler” ran down the fans in Marceline, as well as the promoter, asking for some competition. Promoter Watson answered personally by introducing Vash Heartly. The two grapplers fought tooth and nail, with Mauler trying to use a roll of nickels to KO the courageous Heartly. In the end, Vash picked up the win in his MCW debut.

In what was supposed to be the Main Event, Promoter Watson personally announced the participants. The Iceman and The Hangman fought tooth and nail with Brian Blade and Flex. Blade went after Watson once again, allowing Flex to fall victim to The Hangman’s spinebuster, and a frog splash from The Iceman.

As the duo celebrated their win, Promoter Watson chased his Champion from the ring and announced a battle royal to determine a number one contender to Blade’s MCW Championship. It all came down to The Iceman and The Hangman. As the two partners fought each other, Norton was able to pull out a win, and will take on Brian Blade at the next MCW show in Marceline

MTV’s Road Rules Dan Walsh wins HVW Livewire Championship

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 19, 2010

You have seen him thrill fans on MTV’S reality TV show Road Rules, this past Saturday Dan Walsh won the coveted High Voltage Wrestling Livewire Championship in a 4 man scramble match.

The match featured three of the most talented superstars in St Louis today when the POWERFUL Trent Stone, the FEARLESS OuTKaSt and the BREATHTAKING Billy McNeil gave an exciting match to get their hands on the title.

In a bit of an upset it was Dan Walsh who would have his hand raised at the end of the night but it would not be without controversy as Walsh had a handful of Stone’s tights to get the Victory.

Dan Walsh will have his hands full to hold onto the title, as the HVW Livewire curse or blessing to some have struck many. The first HVW Livewire champion Brandon Espinosa held onto the title for just under and hour till the “Tokyo Monster’ Kahagas  won the title later that night. Kahagas would use the belt as a stepping stone to rocket to the top of the chain by winning the HVW Heavyweight Championship.

Mike Sydal would win his first ever singles championship when he became the HVW Livewire Champion on the way to becoming the 2009 Pro Wrestling Illiustrated Rookie of the Year. Shortly after Mike was being courted by Ring Of Honor when the exciting young Brandon Aarons defeated him in the spring earlier this year.

Aarons due to personal reason was unable to defend the belt in August and this show so the curse that struck Aarron’s former tag team partner Espinosa bite him.

Now we have the “Dananimal” Dan Walsh as the HVW Livewire Champion.

How long will he last is anyone’s guess. Till then lets hear from the new Champ Dan Walsh.

Look for NWA Dynamo –High Voltage Wrestling information in the near future including words from

• New HVW Champion Jeremy Wyatt.
• New HVW Tag Champions Full Contact Dojo (Jonathan Gresham & Ric King)
• Former HVW Tag Team Champs and 2009 MWR Tag Team of the Year the Hooligans (Devin and Mason Cutter.

WLW Tag Team Champions Mark Sterling and Steve Fender continue their Dominance.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 18, 2010

At one of the biggest shows of the year the current WLW Tag team Champions Steve Fender and Mark Sterling proved once again that they are one of the top tag teams in the game today.

MWR was on hand front and center as WLW teamed up with Pro Wrestling NOAH for their annual camp with some of the top talent around the world.

In a spectacular match Ryan Drago and the Cancun Kid attempted to get the title off the hands of who I like to call “Perfect Execution” Fender and Sterling. The Kid and Drago were just one millisecond away from becoming the new WLW Tag Team Champions.

In the end it was more of the same as Sterling and Fender continued their stranglehold of the tag team scene in WLW.

We got words from the Champs as well as the distraught young team of Ryan Drago after their match.

MWR Fans in the near future look forward for more WLW news including

• WLW/Pro Wrestling Noah Graduates with Pictures from Bill Smith
• WLW Champion Trevor Murdoch introduces a new Second generation superstar
• Introducing Russian Sensation Victor Kosymov
“Miss Lucy” Lucy Mendez welcomes you to MWR

MMWA-SICW “Old School tag Team Match” 2 out of 3 falls” this Saturday

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 18, 2010

The 2009 MWR Promotion of the Year returns this Saturday October 23rd at 8pm with another all-star wrestling card at the East Carondelet Community Center. Already signed is an “Old School tag Team Match” 2 out of 3 falls featuring the team of Dave Vaughn and Danny Boy battling against Gary Jackson and Brandon Espinsoa.

That is not all, also signed at the request of Travis “the Crook” Cook, is Ron Powers in a handicap match. Travis insisted at the last show that Powers needs to “earn” another shot at any of his men. If Powers can beat any two wrestlers then Travis will consider allowing him another shot at his stable boys.

The tension is building as always in the MMWA-SICW.
