The Golden Cirlce: Creating a Vocabulary By Greg Anthony

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 28, 2009

Straight from rasslinriotonline.com

Among the many tasks of running a wrestling company, between finding great talent and producing a worthwhile product their is something that few even think about and that’s creating a vocabulary. Creating a vocabulary for your show, especially in television, is essential to making a wrestling promotion successful. WWE are masters at creating a phrase or reinventing a word that assures every time you hear it you think of a specific person or the product as a whole. Announcers play a huge role is this process, its not that they say it once, they say it every week. To a different degree or variation but they build a wrestling vocabulary.

It helps that WWE has the greatest announcer of all time in Jim Ross. I hope if Jim Ross ever retires that he is still kept on salary to call in once a week and coach young announcers on this irreplaceable gift. Phrases like “educated feet”, “broken in half” and “tougher than a $2 steak” are just scratching the surface of good ol’ JR’s contributions to the wrestling dictionary. If you notice the word wrestler is never used on WWE tv, but is instead replaced by WWE Superstar or sports entertainer. Those are an intentional choice of words. Sometimes creating a wrestling vocabulary isn’t about what you do say but rather what you don’t say.

Certain words have been used to further describe a superstar’s persona. Calling Steve Austin “Stone Cold” was a perfect compliment to his character but adding “The Texas Rattlesnake” provoked a deliberate visual that furthered Austin’s image when we didn’t think that was possible. Triple H has been working on top in WWE for sometime now ,and if being called “The Game” wasn’t enough to convey his ability in this business, but the term “Cerebal Assasian” was a perfect fit. Telling the story that some may be bigger or faster but none will be smarter in between those ropes. When “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair was live in living color in front of television camera and said that he was “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” and talked about “Space Mountain” and the limosines, jets and kissing all the girls he was creating a vocabulary. He was probably telling the truth as well but creating terms and phrases that are used in the business to this day.

Even on our level, trying to catch a big break, some of the most successful are those who create a vocab about themselves. I wanted the TLCW championship to be considered the top title in this area, so when I said I was in the best company, with the best talent and that made me “The Best of the Best” it became a piece of wrestling vocabulary in this area. When you hear “I’m Derrick, by God, Greater then Great, King…1…2…3… DAMMIT” he created another aspect to his character. Or when Dustin Starr decided to add a number in the middle of his name. Guys really need to sit down and try to brainstorm to come up with things that can enhance their character.

It would be impossible to list all of the contributions that people have made relating to this aspect of the business. Atleast impossible for me in an bi-weekly article. But even as I finish up phrases like “One legged man in an ass kicking contest” and “Genetic Jackhammer” are dancing through my head. I guess what I’m trying to point out is its not just about watching the product but also listening to the product. So eyes and EARS open and you will learn more than bargain for, I promise and when “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony makes a promise its as good as gold.

—-Greg Anthony is a regular on the local area circuit. He won RRO Booker of the Year 2008 and is listed in the top 5 of the RRO Top 10 2008. Greg is currently working as booker of NEW and can be seen tagging with legend Bobby Eaton and Brian Thompson as “Midnight Gold”.

Look for more of The Golden Circle with Greg Anthony at MWR in the future.

Editor’s Desk…

By Josh Ray

Here is another edition of the Editor’s Desk, where I cover a lot of ground in the area’s pro wrestling community with one column!

The man that calls himself Mad Conservative Crimefighter has posted a review of a show that happened at the Illinois State Fair this month.  It’s a harsh review, and can be read here.  I’m not really a fan of calling a wrestling organization “Intergalactic”, mainly because you can’t really take that word seriously unless it refers to a science fiction book or movie, but other than that it doesn’t seem like the organization was fully prepared to put on a show that would leave a good taste in anybody’s mouth.  Organizations should try to put their best foot forward, and I am left wondering how much the promoter was paid to put on a subpar show…  and how much profit was made.

Recent discussions continued about the attendance at a Pro Wrestling Next show in which Drake Younger, the champion of a top-tier independent wrestling organization (Combat Zone Wrestling), defended his title against Hunter Matthews.  PWN officials reported a low draw of approximately 40 people, but other reports had the attendance at less than half of that number.  Regardless of the draw, the show delivered some great action…  and that is something that gets lost in the shuffle sometimes by smart marks and even “smarter” marks (wrestlers and promoters).  Hooligans vs Submission Squad and Drake Younger vs Hunter Matthews?    I can’t see anybody complaining with that.  I think the argument should be how best to promote shows so that there are more in attendance.  Sometimes, less shows or more time between shows to do the proper leg work are all thats needed.

Missouri Wrestling Revival has conditionally accepted a buyout offer that will be mutually beneficial for all involved.  An announcement will be forthcoming when final details are hammered out.  The MWR staff is excited about a new opportunity and will make the November 14th show in Granite City, IL one to remember as a celebration of nearly two years of “Giving Back to Midwest Pro Wrestling”.  Kari, Brian, and I have given as much as we can in this capacity to the local wrestling scene, but will continue to be involved in pro wrestling!  Come to the MWR show on November 14th and witness a show that you will not soon forget!

As a new chapter begins for Missouri Wrestling Revival, one closes for the successful IWA Mid South promotion.  Attendence had dropped off recently and one can assume that DVD sales dropped due to the economy.  Signs of the organizations troubles surfaced, in my humble opinion, when they began making more money off of hopeful wrestlers than fans in attendance, but the idea of tryout matches in front of Ian Rotten, Mickie Knuckles, and a live audience is an idea that should be commended.  I personally wish all involved with IWA Mid South the best, and hope to see them successful in wrestling again in the near future!

Dragon Gate USA runs a much anticipated show in Chicago in less than two weeks on September 6th!  Since the announcement of the event months ago, I have personally attempted  to secure spots on the show for some of the best wrestlers in the MWR coverage area, but a deal has not been reach as of press time.

Independent Hardcore Wrestling has a show scheduled for September 5, 2009 in Dupo, IL (VFW Hall – 200 N. Fifth Street).  The last show was highly regarded, and this show features an excellent matchup between Brandon Aarons and Harker Dirge that is sure to be great!

Be on the lookout for more news as it happens right here at http://www.MissouriWrestlingRevival.com!

The Uniqueness of Outside Championships- By Christopher M. Zack

Camera Guy Chris and Daughter

The Uniqueness of Outside Championships

By Christopher M. Zack

This column is the property of Christopher M. Zack and published here as agreed upon by Pro Wrestling Next. No duplication of this column is permitted without the exclusive written consent of the author and/or PWN officials.

General Disclaimer: I can be incredibly long winded. I have a degree in English and love to write, so I tend to write quite a bit. When I’m passionate about something, it comes out even more. I have a lot of passion about the wrestling business, so these columns will definitely be wordy, but it’s all to get discussions going.

That’s right, it’s the return of Angles W/Camera Guy Chris. First things first, personal business. I again would like to apologize for my sporadic posting over the summer months. It’s been hard to sit and focus on (no pun intended) putting together an article between my work schedule and spending time with my daughter during the summer months. Now that school has started again, it’ll be a lot easier to post this for you great fans who visit the boards and read my work.

I also want to announce two things about Angles. Firstly, I will not be posting on a weekly basis. At the moment, I simply don’t have the energy or time to get a new topic together and post every week. It would burn me out very quickly. Angles will be a monthly post at the very least. There may be 2 posts a month depending on time and topics. That leads into my other announcement. My work is going to look more exclusively on Independent wrestling. There are so many great Indy feds and Indy talent out there, that to look at the WWE and TNA would just be foolish on my part. Pro Wrestling NEXT is a great Independent Wrestling Organization showcasing the best young wrestlers out there, and that’s where my attention will be from now on.

I can’t think of a better place to begin this new focus than with some of the events that transpired this past Friday, August 21st, 2009. There are many excellent independent wrestling groups around the world and right here in America. Organizations like Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Full Impact Pro, CHIKARA, and Combat Zone Wrestling come to mind as some of the top Independents that come to mind here in the States. (I left out Ring of Honor, because, honestly, they have a national TV deal and are on PPV, I can’t consider them independent anymore) Friday night’s event at the Bier Stube saw the World Heavyweight Champion of one of these top feds defend his title live for us in the Quad Cities, CZW Champion Drake Younger.

Younger, trained by the likes of Ian Rotten and Chris Hero among others, is a brutal, vicious competitor who has held the Combat Zone World Heavyweight Championship since July 12, 2008, when he defeated Nick Gage for the title. Holding any title for more than a year is a great feat, but it’s definitely a mark of a true champion. Drake is best known for his deathmatch wrestling, a main stable for CZW, but he is also a brilliant technical wrestler and mat technician.

Younger brought this combined style to PWN on the 21st, looking to take down Hunter Matthews. Hunter, former PWN Quad Cities Champion and self-proclaimed “King of Des Moines,” felt he was cheated out of a title and deserved a title match at Bier Stube Bash 2, The Sequel. So, Drake Younger stepped in to give him that opportunity. How often to you get to see a World Title from another organization defended? That is the main point of this article. It’s a treat when another group, especially one as big as CZW allows their title to be defended outside of one of their own shows.

Younger brought is reputation and his World Title to Moline and gave the fans one kick ass ride. I’ve already talked about this match to some extent in my response to the results thread, but I’m going to go a bit more in depth now.

Hunter came out first, and of course took the microphone, much to the dismay of the fans. Matthews has definitely not been a favorite of the QC crowd. He talked about how the Quad Cities Championship had been taken, and his need of holding a title. Younger came out to put a stop to the talking and start the action, bringing and emptying a beer battle as he walked to the ring. He was on Matthews right from the start. Hunter didn’t even have a chance to get out of his jacket before Drake took the fight to him. Eventually, he was able to duck out of the ring and get a moment to pull his jacket off and gear up for the fight, but a moment was all he got.

The CZW Champion quickly followed him out of the ring to continue the beating. Out amongst the fans, we saw many various weapons used and advantages taken by both parties. And under CZW rules, this was all legal. No count outs, no disqualifications. Matthews was hit by a water bottle and a beer can before fighting back and getting Younger prone on top of a hard plastic picnic table. Hunter attempted a piledriver on top of this table but Drake was able to counter. Younger looked like he wanted to slam the “King” down to the cement below, but Matthews was able to block that attempt and the two of them made their way off the table.

The World Champion would empty a garbage can and take that to Hunter Matthews’ skull, leaving an indentation of the King’s “crown” on both sides of the metal can. Younger would then take his empty beer bottle, smash it across the ring post and attempt to lacerate Matthews with it. Hunter was able to dodge that and fought Drake, leading him to the fountain in the Bier Stube’s court yard. He tried to force the Champ’s head under water, and Younger struggled to prevent this, but, Matthews was able to over power him and dunk him for several seconds.

The two men battled back and forth around the outside of the ring until Hunter was able to whip Drake over a couple more plastic picnic tables towards a set of stairs leading up to a balcony overlooking the garden. They fought up to the balcony, both men teetering and trying to push the other over the edge. Thankfully, neither was successful. That would have caused serious injury. After battling back down the stairs they made their way out to the parking lot and onto the metal bed that had carried the ring to the venue. Hunter would get scooped up and slammed on his back on the metal!

At that point, things were pretty well over. Matthews was able to stay on his feet as they fought their way back in the ring. In the ring, Younger hit a sick ass vertibreaker for the win and rolled out of the ring to celebrate with the QC crowd. The fans really seemed to enjoy this. Drake grabbed the microphone, told the fans that he’d heard about Matthews and how he liked to run his mouth a lot. He was glad to have given the fans what they’ve wanted, silence, and he hoped to see them all in the bar to share a beer! At one point, I remember him looking me right in the eye…er…lens…and saying “That’s what you get when you call out Drake Younger” while pointing to Hunter, prone in the ring.

This is the great action you see in Pro Wrestling Next. Not only are we bringing in great new talent, we’re showcasing HUGE matches with World Titles from some of the top feds across the country. This is only the beginning, too. On September 12th, PWN welcomes back Davey Richards, current holder of the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship (a title he’s had once before) and current holder of the Full Impact Pro World Heavyweight Championship, a title he Will Defend in Davenport on September 12th at PWN’S Severed Ties!!!! FIP’s World Title is one of the top 3 wrestling championships in the country, and seeing it defended here in the Quad Cities is going to be excellent.

Back to the Bier Stube Bash, now. The CZW World Title match was awesome, but not the biggest moment of the night by far, in my opinion. The biggest moment happened before that match when The Hooligans defeated the Submission Squad to take the Lethal Wrestling Alliance Tag Team Championships. As unique as it is to see titles defended from other organizations, it is extremely rare to see a title change hands outside of the confines of the group the title is from. What makes this title change even more exciting and controversial is the fact that The Hooligans are not a part of LWA.

First, I have some background info. I need to thanks Brian “Flair” Kelley, Pierre Abernathy, and Kari Williams for tracking down or providing this information for me. The Submission Squad (Pierre Abernathy and Evan Gelistico) originally consisted of Pierre Abernathy, Dingo, and Nick Tyson, but the team has also included Evan Gelistico and “Blackheart” Johnny Vinyl. Before joining Abernathy, Gelistico was a member of the Bearded Men from Space Station Eleven (Gary the Barnowl—who was eventually corrupted by the likes of Gelistico, Abernathy, Tiffany LaFane, and Davey VegaBilly McNeal, XXX Jordan Lacey, and Evan Gelistico) for approximately two years. Abernathy and Gelistico won the LWA Tag Titles on April 4th in O’Fallon, Illinois’s Night’s of Columbus building from the Ego Express (“Spoiled” Steven Kennedy & K.C. Karrington). The Ego Express were the first team to hold the LWA Tag Team Titles, beating Dingo and Davey Vega on 12/18/2008 at Yuletide Terror ’08.

During their title reign, the Submission Squad squared off against the Hooligans, the Northstar Express, and the Ego Express. One of their biggest feuds (before claiming the LWA gold) came against the Bearded Men over a span of two years. This feud saw Gelistico turn on the Space Station, claiming to be Gary’s father. Their other noticeable feud happened when original members, Dingo and Nick Tyson began to distance themselves from Abernathy and Gelistico. This culminated in a match between the new and the old Submission Squad on May 30 at the Vetta Sports Complex. Abernathy & Gelistico emerged victorious.

The Hooligans are Devin and Mason Cutter. The Cutters were raised in the outside districts of East St. Louis IL. They come from a working class family. They are just a couple of thugs or hooligans that enjoy a beer as much as they enjoy a good fight. You can catch them at any local pub after a hard days work drinking with there mates and at the end of the night you sure to see them in a fight. They are best known for their work in IWA-Mid South, where they have competed against some of the best IWA-MS has to offer, including (sometimes with Rain as their partner) Ian & Axl Rotten (sometimes with Mickie Knuckles)—better known as Bad Breed—on several occasions in many different types of hard-hitting, violent matches. The Cutters, in my opinion, are very no nonsense. They’re heavy hitters and consider themselves Working Class Heroes, though the fans from Friday didn’t consider them very heroic when they won the LWA Championships.

In Moline on August 21st, the crowd was already fired up, and it only escalated to see the first of two title matches. The QCA fans were definitely against the Hooligans throughout the match, especially after the match. Security had to restrain both the Hooligans and the crowd following their victory for the LWA Titles.

The match itself saw both teams getting in some early offense, until Devin and Mason cut Evan Gelistico off from his partner. The Cutters used classic heel tactics to divide and concur, isolating Gelistico and using moments when the ref’s back was turned to both double team Gelistico and trade places with blind tags.

During the match, Tim Donst and Jasin Strife came out to watch the proceedings. Donst had lost a match to Tony Kozina earlier in the night due to disqualification after Strife came down and joined Tim in assaulting Kozina. The Submission Squad had come to the aide of Kozina, causing Donst and Strife to flee the ring before Abernathy and Gelistico could lay a hand on them. I didn’t see Donst and Strife come out, since my attention was focused on the action in the ring, and rightly so, I am Camera Guy Chris, after all.

Back in the ring, Gelistico manages to catch a break, tagging in his very fresh, very eager partner, Pierre Abernathy, who proceeded to take down both the Cutters as they took turns charging at him. In the corner, Gelistico was down and prone to Donst and Strife, who chose that moment to strike, taking out Evan’s knee and leaving him crying out in pain on the cement below the ring. Then it was only a matter of time before the numbers game caught up with Abernathy. With no partner waiting on the apron, and the vicious Hooligans having 2-1 odds, it didn’t take long for the match to end, crowing Devin and Mason Cutter the NEW LWA Tag Team Champions.

A title change is always a sight to see, since they can be rare, especially in the independent feds. Seeing a title from another company even defended at an outside event is something big. PWN featured two outside title defenses at the Bier Stube Bash 2. What makes this particular match even more unique is seeing the titles change hands at an outside event. And if that were the only major deal about this match, then, while worth mentioning, it might not get all the attention it is getting. What makes this particular outside title defense and changing of the guard so incredibly special is that the new LWA Tag Team Champions are not a part of the Lethal Wrestling Alliance!

This situation has potential to get very bad very quickly. I know I’ll be following the situation as closely as I can and update the fans on how things turn out. I’d also like to welcome any and all LWA fans visiting the PWN boards and reading this article. I invite you to join in the discussion of both the situation with the Tag Team Titles and the uniqueness of seeing outside titles defended.

I would like to once again thank everyone for the information provided for this article. It’s very much appreciated. I’d also like thank Brian “Flair” Kelley, once again, as well as Missouri Wrestling Revival for giving me the opportunity to reach a new audience with my articles. I hope you all enjoy. For those viewing this on MWR, and would like to join the discussion, the main article can be viewed here at the Pro Wrestling Next board.

Wars raged, battles ensued and rivalries became very personal at HVW’s “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’.” With 117 fans in attendance, anything could, and did, happen. Lines were crossed, clashes escalated from levels of respect to full-out rage and fury.

The explosive night started off with “TNT” Keny G announcing that two semi-final matches would take place to determine who would face off for the HVW Tag Team Titles. In the middle of Keny’s spiel, Absolute Wrestling Radio Co-host Mark Bland showed up to prove the naysayers wrong. Bland claimed, among other things, that HVW was trying to be South Broadway Athletic Club (MMWA-SICW). Just as Keny began to defend himself, “Future” Donovan Ruddick came out and pummeled Bland. Nearly the entire locker room emptied to split the two.

In the first tag team title semi-final match, the Bandana Mafia (Pierre Abernathy and Evan Gelistico) took on Neil “Diamond” Cutter and the Blackhart. Gelistico and Blackhart started the match, with Abernathy waiting in the corner, threatening to unmask Blackhart.

Throughout the bout, the Bandana Mafia worked as a much more cohesive unit than Cutter and Blackhart, which greatly aided their efforts. Frequent Mafia double-teams wore down the unorthodox opponents. However, Cutter had Gelistico almost ready to tap as he locked him a brutal submission that seemed to have no way out. But Abernathy got the tag and put Cutter and Blackhart’s title aspirations on hold.

Mike Sydal wrestled the cocky “Peoria Pride Champion” Eric Allen in the following contest. Sydal’s fast-paced style kept Allen at a distance most of the match. With the fans on his side and athleticism galore, Sydal looked poised for victory.

Nevertheless, Allen’s frustration showed, and he soon resorted to underhanded tactics. Only moments before Sydal was sure to get the one, two, three, Allen caught Sydal in a pinning predicament. The Peoria Pride Champion had the tights, but the referee did not see; and, despite the fans and Sydal telling him otherwise, the decision was not reversed.

Mark Sterling put his PWE United States Championship on the line against the Crazy Luchadore
Rebelucha and Gary Jay. Sterling fought an uphill battle from the get go, as the fans had it out for him, and Rebelucha and Gary looked to be on the same page. The champion took some time out of the ring to strategize, while his opponents went at it. As soon as he found an opportunity, Sterling snuck back into the ring.

Much to the fans’ delight, he got what was coming to him, as Gary caught him before he could do any major damage. Gary’s high-flying meshed well with Rebelucha’s ‘rebelutionary’ antics as they tried to wrestle the belt from Sterling. The time out of the ring early on appeared to give Sterling that extra advantage he longed for, as he took out his aggression on Rebelucha. Once the damage was done, Sterling tossed Gary to the outside and covered a weakened Rebelucha to retain.

“Thee” Brandon Espinosa, accompanied by “Irresistibly Flawless” Brandon Aarons, had his hands full against the debuting Mississippi Madman. Espinosa was a little more than hesitant to get in the ring with Madman; he went so far as to pummel through the crowd and cower behind the fans, with Aarons quickly following suit.

After much deliberation, Espinosa manned up and stepped into the squared circle. Madman let Espinosa get in a free shot on more than one occasion, but Espinosa could not budge the behemoth, let alone knock him off his feet. Madman dominated the better part of the bout, and easily got the pin on the cocky Espinosa after Espinosa attempted to make Madman tap out. Not even Aarons’ presence at ringside could distract Madman.

After intermission, Keny announced that a battle royal would take place to determine who the best of the best is in HVW. The battle included Sean Vincent, Kabal, Alexandre Rudolph, Gary Jay, Evan Gelistico, Jimmy D, Mark Sterling, Neil “Diamond” Cutter, Brandon Espinosa and Pierre Abernathy, among others.

Chaos ensued and wrestlers were thrown to the outside at a fairly fast pace. Rudolph appeared to dominate the majority of the match, eliminating numerous competitors. Jimmy D and Rudolph ended up as the final two. Rudolph easily tossed Jimmy out the ring and claimed victory.

Santana G had her chance to get some revenge on Aarons for his actions at the last show, as she teamed up with “Spitfire” Davey Vega in her debut match. Aarons looked to Jessika Haze as the tag team partner of his choosing, and the battle got underway.

Both teams worked extremely well together and Santana looked impressive against Haze, a former women’s champion. Aarons and Haze had the two-man advantage with Espinosa and Magic Man lingering at ringside. But the Santana’s determination to make an impression outweighed everything else, as she took control in the closing moments, connecting with a standing moonsault to Haze for the victory.

Missouri Wrestling Revival Owner Josh Ray brought out Jeremy Wyatt to address the fans and talk about the upcoming MWR Pro Wrestling Showcase where Wyatt will face off against Dingo. Wyatt berated nearly every fan in attendance, and complained about not having a match for the night. Ray and Keny responded by giving Wyatt the opportunity to wrestle on HVW’s Oct. 10 show, but his opponent has yet to be named.

Dingo faced Tony Kozina in Kozina’s HVW debut in one of the most athletic and hard-hitting contests of the night. These two tremendous athletes took each other to the limit. Reversal after reversal and hold after hold, neither man would give an inch. Countless pinfalls left the fans begging for more. Kozina’s more grounded attack meshed tremendously with Dingo’s desire to fly.

When Dingo delivered a stiff kick to the back, it seemed to set the final moments of the match in place, as he speared Kozina, as well as connected with a flying cross body. Dingo ended the match with a small package as yet another reversal to Kozina. After the match was over, Kozina extended his hand to Dingo as a sign of respect for the battle they endured.

The second semi-final match for the tag titles took place next, as Full Contact Dojo went up against The Hooligans. The hard-hitting style of the Hooligans nicely complimented the high-risk feats of the Full Contact Dojo. Both teams used extraordinary teamwork and delivered an exciting match. Full Contact Dojo went completely airborne in an attempt to win a chance for the coveted titles in their debut.

They launched themselves between the top and middle ropes onto their dazed opponents. In the end, it was the illegal tactics of the Hooligans that wound up walking away victorious and as possible HVW tag team champions.

Kahagas and Ruddick went ballistic, in every sense of the word, in the main event for Ruddick’s HVW Heavyweight Championship. As The Livewire Champion did his best to walk away with two belts, Ruddick did everything in his power to utterly destroy The Japanese Nightmare. The battle lasted only mere moments in the ring before Ruddick and Kahagas sent fans running out of harm’s way as they pounded each other with steel chairs and a kendo stick.

Nothing was off limits for the two monstrous brawlers, even the inside balcony. Ruddick’s demise came at this point, when Kahagas sprayed the 6’9” Monster with green mist, blinding him. Kahagas used that opportunity to climb the balcony and launch onto the Heavyweight Champion, who he positioned on a table.

The Tokyo Monster walked out of the building holding both the Heavyweight and Livewire Championships, while Ruddick had to be helped to the back thanks to Mark Bland’s interference—a chair shot to Ruddick’s head and the always-present verbal abuse—which was one of the deciding factors of the match.

To witness The Hooligans take on the Bandana Mafia to crown the first ever HVW Tag Team Champions, to see Ruddick and Bland finally go at it and to see Wyatt’s mystery opponent revealed, take the trip to Granite City, IL on Oct. 10.

New LWA Tag team Champions -The Hooligans

The Submission Squad lost the tag team titles at a PWN show in Moline, IL tonight. Pierre Abernathy and Evan Gelistico were defeated by the Hooligans whom the Submission Squad defeated in New Athens earlier this month. There were no plans for the Hooligans to return to compete in the LwA so we are left to wonder what the status of the LwA Tag Titles will be. Stay tuned for further updates.

MWR Thoughts of this major development.

The Hooligans Devin and Mason Cutter was able to take the straps off one of the hottest tags teams in the Midwest Pierre Abernathy and Evan Gelistico better known as The Submission Squad. These two have crossed paths before with The Submission Squad getting the advantage. Fans I have to say that this has the makings of becoming very ugly with The Hooligans taking the belt that the Submission Squad claims is rightfully theirs. As a fan of Tag team wrestling I can not wait to see the developments of this situation.
