Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 18, 2008

October Wrestler of the Month

 wyatt

Jeremy Wyatt [ PWP] [LWA] [3XW]

No wrestler in the Midwest is as hot as Jeremy “The Rebel” Wyatt. On October 17th at 3XW he earned the right to be the number one contender to the 3xw Pure Championship title held by Tyler Cook by defeating former Pure Champion Maddog McDowell and international star Arik Cannon.

A week later he returned to LWA where he cashed in his Medallion to LWA President Luke Roberts before Roberts could declare the LWA title strip the injured Jordan Lacey of the belt. Since Lacey could not defend the belt, Roberts had no other choice but to give the Rebel the title. Wyatt never one to walk away from a fight successfully defended the belt that night in another three way, this time with KC Karrington and once again Arik Cannon.

Less than 24 hours, Wyatt made his way to Pro Wrestling Phoenix to take on the mammoth Abu Colossus for the PWP Championship. Wyatt was able to defeat one of the most impressive big men in the Midwest to become the new PWP Champion. It is only fitting that Jeremy Wyatt wins once again in October.

The Northstar Express (Ryan Cruz and Darin Corbin) [PWP] [AAW] [LWA]

The Northstar Express traveled to LWA for a classic match up between Johnny Vinyl & Davey Vega. The upstart tag team of Vinyl and Vega was able to get the upset win. The Northstar Express did not let that get them down as they headed to PWP and took on one of the arch rivals the LONRS for the Tag team titles. The LONRS had beaten the Northstar Express twice before this encounter so with their final chance to become the PWP Tag Team Champions, in a match up between two of the top tag teams in the Midwest, the Northstar Express was able to get the belts that have eluded them all year.

1st Runner Up – The LONRS (Mark Sterling and Darrien Sanders [AAPW] [PWP]
2nd Runner Up –
Johnny Vinyl & Davey Vega [LWA]
3rd Runner Up

Amy Henning [WLW]

Not content in just being the daughter of Curt “Mr Perfect” Henning, Amy has worked hard at WLW. The first match ups between her and Stacey O’Brien was the classic wily veteran taking advantage of young rookie. On October 24th in Warsaw Missouri, Amy proved that she is a quick learner and defeated O’Brien to become the new WLW Ladies Champion. MWR staff took notice and voted her the October Women of the Month

NWA Returns to the Kansas City area, November 29th, with Ring of Honor Star Davey Richards.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 17, 2008

nwa-midwest-10-29

 By Brian “Flair” Kelley

Kansas Wrestling fans have been patiently waiting for wrestling to return. They will be rewarded November 29th, when NWA Midwest presents Dynamo Pro Wrestling in Pomona, Kansas. Fans will have a chance to see some of the best athletes that Kansas City has to offer, as well as top wrestlers around the Midwest.

NWA Kansas Champion #1 Brett Young vs. Tyler Cook

The main event will feature one of the most charismatic wrestlers with Brett Young defending his title against Tyler Cook. What will be Young’s strategy will be anyone’s guess as he draws on his years of experience. That advantage has helped him win the Championship when he defeated Tony Cortez, Hype Gotti, Jeremy Wyatt, Jaysin Strife and Darrien Sanders in an elimination match in March before taking the title from Mark Sterling that very night.

On the other side of the ring will be Tyler Cook. In the absence of Kansas wrestling he has been in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa working hard and improving his game. The NWA has taken notice and rewarded him with a dream opportunity to come back home and win the Kansas Championship. Cook will have to use his youth and speed to reach that goal. Many have dubbed Cook as the future of Midwest wrestling, has his time come this soon?

The LONRS vs. The Ego Express

Kansas fans are very aware of the tactics and talent of both Mark Sterling and Darrien Sanders, but for the very first time they will see them collectivity as the LONRS. They have quickly become one of the most talked about tag teams in the Midwest. With mind games and quick tags they keep their opponents guessing, with that moment of uncertainty Sanders can strike with a vicious kick and end it quickly.

Though the Ego Express are not household names in the Kansas area, let it be known that after this match they will not be forgotten. Spoiled Steven Kennedy and KC Karrington are arguably the best tag team in St Louis. Exciting, fast and electrifying you can never turn your head because you never know what you will miss when these two hit the ring.

If you are a fan of tag team wrestling then this match is for you!

NWA Missouri Champion Dingo vs. Jeremy “The Rebel” Wyatt

These two had a classic in August in St Louis that had the Kansas native within seconds of becoming the Missouri Champion. When the smoke cleared from the battle of the two best wrestlers in the Midwest, Dingo had retained the title when he defeated Wyatt with a moonsault press. Out of respect Dingo offered a handshake after the match, but Wyatt delivered a cheapshot then proceeded to land a vicious hammerlock DDT and left the Champion knocked out to end of the evening.

Though Wyatt may be in his hometown, Dingo is loved and respected from the Kansas fans. Dingo is the Ric Flair of the Midwest, in the respect that you can always count on him for a great match, Wyatt this year has reached that plateau as well.

Will Dingo be able to get revenge or will Wyatt even the score on one of the few men that has been able to pin the Rebel in O8?

Like you would need anymore reason to join us In Kansas!!

NWA Dynamo Pro Wrestling delivers with special guest Ring of Honor Superstar Davey Richards. Richards is one of the top talents around the world. Known for his powerful strikes, intensity in every match he is in, you will be glad you got to see him in action.

Also signed:

Shorty Biggs vs Billy McNeil

Davey Vega vs Mike Sydal vs Kraig Keesman vs Adam Rich vs Domino Rivera vs Brandon Espinosa

 Fan appreciation

A meet and greet with the Dynamo Pro wrestlers will be at Buzzards Pizza, 400 E Franklin St, from 3-5.

Come early and sign up for a chance to win an exclusive MWR T-shirt that will be given away during intermission.

LWA Arena Report November 8

LWA Arena Report Nov. 8
By Kari Williams

Taking the fight back home to the Knights of Columbus Hall in House Springs, MO, Lethal Wrestling Alliance gave 100 fans a memorable night filled with two surprise returns, the vice president being named and a performance by The World Police.

Paul Parker brought LWA President Luke Roberts to the ring prior to the first match of the evening because Roberts had finally named his Vice President and was ready to reveal his choice. Without much shock to the fans, Roberts chose Jewells, who delivered an acceptance speech of sorts.

After Roberts’ announcement, Brandon Espinosa, one-half of B.A.B.E Watch, took on Tyler Cook. After showing off to the fans, both men got down to business and kicked the show off with an excellent match. There were multiple reversals from both men and scuffles outside of the ring. Following mulitple pinfall attempts for each man and a picture-perfect frogsplash from Espinosa, the cocky Espinosa stole a victory with a roll up while holding the tights.

Roberts made his presence felt once again, to the disgruntlement of the fans. However, the news he delivered surely retracted the initial anger. Roberts announced that on January 2, the first night of the double-shot to start the new year, Mike Quackenbush will face “Nightmare” Nick Tyson, who then made his way to the ring. Tyson blatantly stated that he was putting, not just Quackenbush, but the whole LWA locker room on notice, proclaiming that he will resurrect the Submission Squad.

Those comments prompted Pierre Abernathy and the latest Submission Squad member, Evan Gelistico, to make their presence felt and defend what the Submission Squad has evolved into. Due to the dispute and tension, Tyson will get his shot at Abernathy at Yuletide Terror.

The next contest was a qualifiying match for Jeremy Wyatt’s LWA Heavyweight Championship, setting “Future” Donovan Ruddick against Mark Sterling. Ruddick and Sterling took the fight to each other, holding nothing back. Sterling’s technical prowess shined, but Ruddick’s forceful dominance prevailed, causing him to advance to the next round of the tournament.

In the aftermath, Wyatt attacked Ruddick from behind, adding more fule to Ruddick’s already burning desire to regain his belt. Once Wyatt returned to the back, Sterling had respectful words with a determined mindset for Ruddick.

“I’ve taken on the best…and pinned them one, two, three, but you are by far one of the toughest opponents,” he said.

Sterling then requested a rematch if and when Ruddick wins the belt, making Sterling the number one contender.

Gary the Barnowl tried to gain some retribution for Evan Gelistico’s actions last month as the next bout commenced. With so much retribution on the line, neither man wanted to give an inch. They battled ferociously, taking it to the outside with intense rage filling their minds. Gelistico nearly won the battle after an superkick, but Gary kicked out at two and ended up gaining enough momentum to earn the win for the Bearded Men.

During intermission, the World Police provided fans with their eclectic form of music.

Once the action got back underway, “Spoiled” Steven Kennedy wrestled one-half of his arch nemesises, “Spitfire” Davey Vega. This match was simply hate personified, as Kennedy and Vega traded blow for blow, with intense loathing burning in their eyes. At one point, Kennedy went for a springboard moonsault, but Vega forced Kennedy to a stop with a devastating kick to the face. Nonetheless, Kennedy persevered and sealed Vega’s fate with a lionsault.

Before the next match started, Mike Sydal made his way to the ring only to berate the fans, as well as the LWA itself, proclaiming that he “knew they weren’t worthy of seeing a Sydal wrestle.” Once Sydal left, Parker gave a shout out to MWR’s own Josh Ray, for his departure to Iraq, wishing him the best.
Pierre Abernathy set his sights on Billy McNeil during the second to last match of the night. McNeil let loose in the opening moments, proving that he is not one to mess with in the LWA. However, Gelistico’s presence at ringside became the deciding factor. Not content with his most recent actions against McNeil, Gelistico took things even further when he interfered in the match, resulting in Abernathy picking up a tainted win.

Giving one of the brightest stars a chance to shine, Jeremy Wyatt put his belt on the line against Dingo and the future of the LWA, K.C. Karrington. Every man held his own and proved that he deserved the title belt. Just when it appeared as though Karrington would secure a victory and take his rightful place at the top of the company, the new vice president came out and said that she did not like the way the match was going. This distracted Karrington just long enough for Wyatt to sneak out with a victory.

Due to Jewells’ interference, Roberts had harsh words for her, then announced that he named a commisioner, someone who would have the same authority as Jewells. That man, was Adam Raw. After poking fun at Jewells and making not-so-similar comparisons between her and Sarah Palin, Raw got down to business and in his first act as the commisionher, he set the much anticipated Tables, Ladders and Chairs match between The Ego Express and “Blackheart” Johnny Vinyl and “Spitfire” Davey Vega. As the show ended, the last thing Raw said before he went to the back was, “That, my friends, is change.”lwa

When two of the best tag teams of the Midwest hook up, the expectations for a great match is very high. On October 25th, at Pro Wrestling Phoenix the stakes were amplified. Adding on the fact that it would be for the PWP Tag team titles, as well as the spotlight of being a part of the Missouri Wrestling Revival “Best of the Midwest” DVD series.

After the dust settled between the defending Champions The LONRS (Mark Sterling and Darrin Sanders) and The Northstar Express (Ryan Cruz and Darin Corbin) the titles had changed and history had been made.

These two teams collided in a dream match that lived up to the hype and more. The action went back and forth between the two bitter enemies. The LONRS brought their “A” game and at moments looked to have the match well at hand. The Northstar to their credit withstood an early onslaught, as Sanders hit some killer kicks and Sterling nearly had the rare submission in tag team action with his “Markshooter” Sharpshooter. In the end the LONRS suffered a heartbreaking loss, but knew that they had been a part of something special. They showed respect to the Northstar Express by shaking their hands after the match but you know that they will look to regain the titles in the near future.

The bar has been set very high for others that will be a part of the MWR Best of the Midwest series thanks in part to the LONRS and the Northstar Express. The dream to help promote Independent Midwest wrestling around the world has started off in the right direction with this phenomenal match up.

I would like to thank Pro Wrestling Phoenix, the LONRS and the Northstar Express for letting MWR be a part of such an exciting event. We wish everyone involved the best and look forward to seeing them in action again very soon.

I hope that you look forward in the future for more MWR Sponsored “Best of the Midwest” matches in an independent wrestling show near you.

The Superstars of tomorrow are in the Midwest today!!

MWR would also like to congratulate Jeremy “The Rebel” Wyatt for becoming the PWP Heavyweight Champion. Wyatt was able to win the belt in the main event from the very dominating Abu Colossus in an epic battle.

High Voltage Wrestling- Shakes the foundation in the Midwest

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 6, 2008

By Brian “Flair” Kelley

The new promoter on the block, TNT Kenny G and his promotion High Voltage Wrestling were to have their first show on Saturday October 4th. Many people thought that he should not be running in the venue that he was in ( Granite IL ), because other promotions such as LWA, FTW, and FIST have run there prior to HVW. One reasoning was “Because you’re Lazy” and when he posted a message on the St Louis Wrestling Community Board,  asking local talent to contact him to do be a part of a show, many had a reason to be cautious of High Voltage Wrestling.

A couple of weeks prior to the show TNT Kenny G posted on the message board that Brandon Espinosa (I like him) DaCobra (I have wanted to see him) were to be on the show so he had my attention, but with the Missouri/ Nebraska football game on prime time and Kimbo (14 seconds of fame) Slice was to fight UFC Legend Ken Shamrock, I  wanted to save money and stay home and watch TV for once. Then he had to do it, he posted that Spoiled Steven Kennedy (One of my favorites) Cecil Cerveza (I have wanted to see) Mephisto along with Gary the Barn Owl taking on his rival Pierre Abernathy.  I just couldn’t’t resist the temptation of a night of wrestling that promised a little bit of everything. So with the goal to convince my girlfriend to go, I explain to her that “The Future” Donovan Ruddick was involved in the main event. The Future is one of her favorites so she was on board for another wrestling trip.

The first thing that I noticed as I paid for our tickets was that the employees, ticket taker, security and concession booth were all supporting a High Voltage Wrestling T-shirt, they had two different styles Red and Yellow or Black and yellow. That made this new promotion look very legit, and organized and I had not even made it to my seat yet.

We sat in the front row so that I could get the best pictures possible and were grateful that they didn’t have a ring rail. Some promotions have and some don’t. I have grown fond of not having something in front of me. There would be times in the night that we had to flee from our chairs due to the action coming our way. Do you need to ask why I love Indy wrestling?

We have made many friends going to shows, so I made my rounds and said hello to one fellow wrestling fan, Patrick Brandemeyer, who is also a comedian and had been offering cookies to whoever comes and sees him perform at the Westport Funny Bone. I gave him a hard time by asking him if the cookies would be fresh baked before heading back to my seat.

High Voltage Wrestling’s very first wrestling match was an exciting bout between DaCobra and Jon Divosi. DaCobra is a star in the making with lighting quick moves and devastating kicks. Divosi to his credit was able to get hit from every direction. Divosi must have felt he had a win with a modified side effect off the second rope but DaCobra just barely kicked out. DaCobra was able to catch a second wind, went to the top rope and hit one of the most exciting moves I have ever seen live – The 630 Splash!!! You may think I am lying but I was so excited that I forgot to cheer as the ref counted to three. I turned to my girlfriend and said “I would hate to be the wrestler that had to follow that match”.

DaCobra is set to hit the amazing 630 splash.

DaCobra is set to hit the amazing 630 splash.

The second match would be a tag team match as the team of Bandana Mafia (Evan Gelistico and Davey Vega) taking on Steven Kennedy and Rick Stone. While the ref did a search for weapons he found many hidden Bandanas hidden in the ring attire of the Mafias. To the best of my knowledge the match between the two teams were the first time they had been together. The Mafia really took it to Stone, all the while getting under Kennedy’s skin as Kennedy frequently entered the ring without being tagged. This prompted the ref Eric Davis to spend energy and time on getting him out the ring. With the refs back turned, the Mafia, at one moment used a bandanna to choke Stone. The confusion played into their favor as the team of Stone and Kennedy never got off the ground and with a cheap shot from Gelistico would seal the win for the Mafia.

The Promoter of HVW, Kenny G came out to the ring to thank the fans for coming and being a part of their grand opening. Out came Kris Synz, who stated that he was in fact a three time Hardcore Champion and was appalled that he was not a part of High Voltage Wrestling’s night of wrestling. Synz made the mistake of getting in the face of Kenny, and Kenny made quick work of the former hardcore champion with a flying kick using a baking pan on top of him in the corner. Kenny just got his breath when Mephisto came out from the back to tell Kenny that he had just disposed of a never was and that if he ever wanted to get in a real hardcore wrestlers face to step up. Kenny did not hesitate to go at Mephisto and a match was started. Though the bell was rung these two men went at it outside almost as soon as it started, which prompted a double count out.

A familiar feud was rekindled when Gary the Barn Owl defended his ACW U-30 belt against the European scumbag Pierre Abernathy.  The action was back and forth throughout the match. At one time Pierre pounded Gary in the corner unmercifully and looked to have a chance to win the title but Gary persevered in the end with a flying flat liner and was able to get the win and retain the title.

Pierre Abernathy steps on Gary the Barn Owl in the corner.

It was time for the intermission and I went do some work for the site and lost track of time, which led me to miss the first match to my disappointment. The Hybrids (Jason Lyte & Donovan Cain) defeated the tag team of Cecil Cerveza & D’Andre King.

Brandon Espinosa used his speed to keep Adam Evans off of his game in the first round of the HVW Heavyweight tournament.

I came back in time to see the co –main event between Adam Evans accompanied by the Magic Man taking Brandon Espinosa in the tournament to decide the first round for the HVW Heavyweight title. Adam Evans has the look to go far in the sport, and though I respect Espinsoa, I gave him very little chance  winning this with the odds so stacked against him. Evans himself seemed to take his opponent lightly and taunted him by relaxing on the top rope after taking him to school. Espy has improved so much in this year alone, that he can not be overlooked. Evans seem to have the match in hand but still the Magic Man could not resist interfering by trying to throw fire at Espy, but this backfired and burned his own man which allowed the upset to happen. Espy will take on the winner of the “The Future” Donovan Ruddick and Bobby Danger at  next months show.

Donovan Ruddick overpowers Bobby Danger early in the match.

Bobby Danger is not a small guy by no means, but he was facing one of the most powerful men in the Midwest . Danger, to his credit brought everything he had and knew that in this match  he would have to use his speed to get the edge over the Future. It looked to pay off with a corkscrew plancha to almost move on in the tournament, but when Danger went and hit a flying body cross the Future rolled with it, powered him up into the Razors edge into a monster slam and within a moment we had out second contestant in the tournament to become the HVW Heavyweight Champion.

Espy with a renewed confidence came out to the ring to confront the man who he will take on November 22 when HVW Presents Fuel for Fire again at Granite City . The Future and Espy could not wait till November and the fists were flying. The locker room attempted to separate the two men outside the ring. Bobby Danger excited the crowd with a plancha outside the ring on top of all the wrestlers. Bodies were lying onto the floor when Promoter Kenny G stated that next month the man KAHAGAS would be in action and for them.

TNT Kenny G blows a fuse after the pandemonium that ensued after the main event.

High Voltage Wrestling’s first show was well planned by the promoter Kenny G. He showed class by inviting the local talent to come and introduce themselves at the show. This show had some St Louis flavor to it and with some outside talent he was able to add freshness to their first show. The matches were well booked and in turn, the wrestlers gave the fans a great show.

Their next show on November 22 at Granite City IL , will have

Brandon Espinosa challenging “The Future”, Donovon Ruddick to see who will hold the right to be called the first High Voltage Wrestling Mid-West Heavyweight Champion.

“The Future” Donovan Ruddick goes for the HVW Title on November 22

Kahagas has taken on some of the wrestling’s best, When he enters the Midwest, he looks to bring the pain to MWR #1 ranked wrestler Jeremy “The Rebel” Wyatt.

 DaCobra vs. Mark Sterling

The Ego Express VS Brett Young and Mike Sydal

Also in action – The Bandana Mafia, Gary Jay, Cecil Cerveza, Pierre Abernathy, Deandre King, Cheapshot Mcgrot, Shane Rich, Mephisto and more !

If you missed the last show don’t make the same chance again.

A New Number One?

A New Number One?
The tag team scene heats up.

by Josh Ray
Owner-Editor
inadvertent.nerd@gmail.com

After what seemed like an eternity at the number one spot, the Northstar Express fell one spot to number two.  Taking their place at number one is the ultra-talented team known as The Phoenix Twins (Tweek & Dash).

The Phoenix Twins have received their fair share of accolades this year.  In the MWR coverage area for 2008, they have held the AAPW tag titles and wrestled in the MWR Match of the Month for March.  They’ve also been MWR Tag Team of the Month in March and May, as well as the Tag Team of the 1st Quarter.  While nipping at the heels of the Northstar Express since the beginning of the 2008 Wrestling Revival Cup, Tweek and Dash overtook them after capturing the Scott County Wrestling Tag Team Titles this month.

That’s not to say that Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz are out of the hunt.  A very popular tag team, the Northstar Express suffered a setback when Darin Corbin injured his knee at a 3XWrestling show in Des Moines, IA in September.  He’s since recovered moderately from the injury and they’ve got a busy second half of October, but those matches are tough and could slow them down even further.

Another team that has slipped slightly in the tag team rankings is the team of Danny Daniels & Trik Davis, collectively known as Windy City Classic.  Windy City Classic had a tight grip on the Scott County Wrestling Tag Team Titles for a large portion of the year, but the talent and teamwork of teams such as Zero Gravity (Brett Gakiya & CJ Esparza) and Phoenix Twins caused them to wear down over time.  Both teams have tasted SCW Tag Title glory in the past two months.

The team to look out for is the LONRs (Darrien Sanders and Mark Sterling).  These guys have been on a steady climb as of late, and the month of October could prove to be their best yet.  The LONRs defeated the former number one team twice this year (Northstar Express) in successful defenses of the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Tag Team Titles, and last week defeated the new number one tag team (Phoenix Twins) to capture the All American Pro Wrestling Tag Titles.

The dark horse in the hunt for the MWR 2008 Wrestling Revival Cup for tag teams would have to be Lethal Wrestling Alliance’s top tag team, Davey Vega & Johnny Vinyl.  These two have competed solely in the LWA this year, a promotion without tag team titles to measure success.  Currently ranked 11th, these two have crawled within striking distance of the top ten and at press time were staring down the Northstar Express in a big match for bragging rights and a possibly push to the top of the rankings.

The 2008 Wrestling Revival Cup is coming to a close in the very near future and the fight for the championship is intensifying.  Who will take home the

MWR’s Midwest Best Series: The LONRS vs. The Northstar Express

Mark your calendar on October 25, 2008 to be in Council Bluffs Iowa. You have been personally invited by Missouri Wrestling Revival (MWR) and Pro Wrestling Phoenix (PWP) to be a part of the Missouri Wrestling Revival’s “Midwest Best Series”. PWP Tag Team Champions the LONRS (Mark Sterling and Darrien Sanders) will defend their titles against the Northstar Express (Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz).

[Mark Sterling and Darrien Sanders have had a stranglehold on the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Titles, with no plans on letting go anytime soon.]

[The Northstar Express (Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz) shown here with the stunning Allison Wonderland look to win the PWP Tag Team Championship.]

When Josh and I were in discussions with Pro Wrestling Phoenix about being a part of the series, Pro Wrestling Phoenix said, “You are in luck, because we have the two best tag teams in the Midwest going at it for the tag team titles and this could very well be the match of the year.”

The MWR staff has a dream of delivering you, the fans, the best wrestling in the Midwest.  We are one step closer with this dream match of two teams that will undoubtedly make it to the next level if they are given the opportunity. Both teams are masters of the double team. Sterling methodically wears opponents down with his brutal submissions, while his partner Sanders can hit a kick out of no where to end the match at any second. The Northstar Express work together so well that their opponents feel as if they are fighting both at the same time.  This causes mass confusion within the ring, which they always swing to their advantage.

This isn’t the first time these two teams have met, though it may very well be the most important. The Northstar Express has the bragging rights as they are ranked number one at this time in the Missouri Wrestling Revival tag team rankings and have won titles all around the Midwest. The problem lies in the fact that the LONRS have had their number in Pro Wrestling Phoenix in the past year with two successful title defenses.

PWP tag team gold is slipping away from the Northstar Express, a team that is not only used to winning, but in winning often. Their first chance came on April 26th, the card was called “A New Era” but on that night there would be no changes even with the beautiful and deadly Allison Wonderland in their corner. With intense action throughout the match, it could have gone either way but to the shock of the PWP fans, Sterling used a roll up to get the win. What the ref didn’t notice was that Sterling had his hand on the ropes for leverage. The LONRS left the ring with their signature cocky smirks and on that night they were 1-0 against one of the best tag teams of the Midwest.

[The Northstar Express work as a team with perfect execution on Sanders in their first match in April.]

With the Northstar Express feeling as if they were close to unseating the Champions once before, they surely thought they could add to their belt collection on July 19, 2008 at “Battle of the Phoenix”. The match was highly competitive but once again the LONRs stole another victory. When Sterling had the ref distracted, Sanders blasted Cruz with the belt.  Sterling, in turn, went to dump Corbin outside of the ring. With Cruz still woozy from the belt shot, Sterling covered Cruz for the easy cheap win. The LONRs’ smirk was still present and they had upped their lead between the two teams at 2-0.

[Ryan Cruz goes to the air to hit Mark Sterling. Exciting moves from both teams will be abundant throughout the night on October 25 when these two teams meet once again.]

I was able to catch up with Mark Sterling this weekend and he was cocky as ever when I asked him about this monumental event. He demanded I give this message for the Northstar Express:

“Third time will NOT be a charm for you, Northstar Express! Me and Showtime know all about how talented you are, how you are arguably the best team in the Midwest, but PWP is OUR HOUSE. We are the elite team in the Midwest and we will prove it at your expense. We built the PWP tag division up and you will not take our belts. We want you to bring everything you got, because we are hungry and eager to beat you at your own game. We have no respect, We have no regret. The Revolution is ready for you!”

Darin Corbin, after hearing Mark’s warning had this to say:

“You know what Mark Sterling?  If you want to beat us at our game you better bring your PS3 or Xbox 360… because we both are pretty good at Guitar Hero. However, if you want to settle this in the ring, we can do that too. What do you plan on doing this time to retain your precious titles that you supposedly built up?”

“Belt shot? Check.”

“Use the ropes? Check.”

“What else do you guys got left? Maybe I’m not giving you enough credit. Maybe… just maybe… you’ll tell the armory (your house may I add) that you can’t pay the electric bill and when we are about to get the 3 count lights go out and you guys take off. Hmmmm, what’s it gonna be? The NSE knows the tricks of the trade. We’ve been known to bend the rules once, twice, maybe 100 times. But you know what? Just because our halos are bent doesn’t mean we aren’t angels. We just got a devil side.”

“So do whatever you want. Say whatever you want. Just make sure the belts are ready for us when we get there.”

“See you on Oct 25th”

Will the LONRS be the team that continues to have the Northstar’s number, or will the NSE cement themselves as the best tag tag team in the Midwest? Someone is going to have their pride hurt in Council Bluffs, IA on October 25, 2008.

Pro Wrestling Phoenix will also deliver some great action with PWP Heavyweight Champ Abu Colossus defending the title against the #1 ranked wrestler in the entire MWR Coverage area, “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt!

Tony Cortez and Jaysin Strife square off in a grudge match!

Hype Gotti vs Vic Victory!

Top Midwest star “Anarchist” Arik Cannon vs PWP’s own Zac James!

“#1″ Brett Young accepts the challenge of Chris Havius!
