10) The Ego Express (KC Karrington and Steven Kennedy)

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 9, 2011

One of the most underrated is the tag team division makes their home in St Louis. When the Ego Express of Steven Kennedy and KC Karrington enter the ring together it Is magical. There were able to defeat the Northstar Express in an exciting matchup in their home turf and they are twice the team now than they were back then. The Egos also had great matches with several of the best in the game including the LONRS, the Hooligans, the Bum Rush Brothers and Vinyl and Vega.

As with many young tag teams, the problem is that each man had a desire for singles glory. Currently Karrington is the NWA Missouri Champion and Kennedy who is coming off an injury is still by his partners side as the two are currently causing trouble at NWA Dynamo.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 29, 2010

With the month of December getting colder, the action in the ring only became hotter and hotter at the MWR Coverage area.

Big matches to end the year put the Champions titles in jeopardy during the final weeks of 2010.

Lets look at the title changes in December.

The Midwest Wrestling’s savior KC Karrington?

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 22, 2010

The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role….You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange you put on a mask.
-Jim Morrison

Change is inevitable. It happens every day; no one or thing is immune. Who we were, could very will be quite different than who we are now. Who we are now could very well be a lie.

I hope that’s the case of young KC Karrington.

KC Karrington (Photo Credit Stephen Jones)

When I first met Karrington, he was very young looking and one had to tell me that he was in fact a wrestler. I watched as this “wrestler” signed autographs and met with kids at a meet and greet in Wood River Illinois. Smiles were shared as Karrington took pictures  with the young fans  and told stories of his young ring career and the happenings of WWE.

KC Karrington was living the dream.

I was surprised to see Karrington improve with every match. His love of wrestling would shine in matches with his tag team partner Steven Kennedy, collectively known as the Ego Express. The two was always entertaining and their fast paced style kept fans on their feet.

The Ego Express wqas tested when they  were set to meet the MWR 2008 Tag team of the Year Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz otherwise known as the Northstar Express. In a classic match, the hometown fans were thrilled to see them get a monumental win. The Ego’s were set to challenge the NSE for the title of the top tag team in the Midwest.

Or so it seemed…

Out of nowhere, Karrington announced that even though he would still team with Kennedy and the Ego’s, he had other plans. Those plans were to challenge the top wrestler in the Midwest at the time Jeremy Wyatt. “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt had been on a tear dominating every competitor that any promotion put in front of him.

Honestly, I liked Karrington and would be rooting for him but I gave him zero chance.

Karrington would not be denied. The hard work, dedication and desire to reach the goal would allow him to prove his naysayers wrong. He would go down as one of the few men to pin Wyatt in the past three years.

An impressive feat, for a young man who had been in the sport in such short amount of time. Life was looking good for KC Karrington.

Or so it would seem….

Refs have wisely kept their distance from Karrington over the last few months (Photo Credit Bill Smith )

Quietly with no fan fare, KC Karrington was gone. It would be almost a half year to the date till I saw KC Karrington. Out of nowhere came a wrestler that I had not seen before, jacked with muscles and full of ink he came towards me. I was shocked when the once looking “kid” had transformed himself into a powerhouse.

I was looking forward to getting down to what his secret to getting in shape so I asked him. I didn’t get two words out of my mouth when Karrington interrupted me and coldly stated “ Do not talk to me unless I speak to you first, you hear me? I am God, I am hear to save wrestling in the miserable state that it is in here in the Midwest. Your readers, the site, the fans and the wrestlers today better learn to follow me or they will PAY!”

It would not be long that the brutal feud of the Ego Express and the Bumrush Brothers (Shorty Biggs and OuTKaSt) would explode. After taking a loss to the ultra popular tag team of the Bumrush, Karrington would lose it. He viciously used a chair on OuTKaSt after the match. During the attack he repeatedly yelled out “I am GOD!

The feud would heat up as the summer went on as we chronicled here at MWR at this post. Déjà vu it happened again on July 24th. OutKaST after earning a hard fought win against Kennedy would find himself taking a shot from a chair courtesy of Kennedy and Karrington. On and on the beat down went with Karrington berating OuTKaST and the fans for their sins.

Even Ego Express Partner Steven Kennedy is stunned with the brutality that Karrington delivers against their arch rival OuTkaST. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)

Karrington knocked out the ref Michael Crase, then continued his assault on OuTKaST. (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)

“I have no regret or remorse for the beating I inflicted on the Outtkast. The revelation was for the sake of his salvation, and was for his own good, whether he realizes it right now or not. I was simply trying to set Outtkast free…trying to help him see the light and the peace that comes with accepting the Midwest Messiah into his heart. I will help Outtkast and the rest of my disciples see that my ways are righteous and my mission is true. Just like the rest of them…he is too ignorant to see it for himself. He will accept me as his savior….be it by choice or by force.”

In what seem like forever till the officials were able to separate Karrington and Kennedy from OutKAst. A chill ran up my spine as I witnessed the evil look in KC Karrington’s eyes and destruction that he seemed thrilled to deliver.

Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free
– Jim Morrison

Evil is in the eyes of KC Karrington (Photo Credit Stephen Jones)

I sent tapes of Karrington recent actions to wrestling psychologist Jason Thomas. When I got back with Thomas I could hear the concern in his voice about Karrington as I asked him why the change?

Thomas stated “What is interesting is that for the most part, individuals that find success also relate the accomplishment with happiness. Even with big wins against the Northstar Express and Jeremy Wyatt, Karrington has regressed. The question remains was the feeling of being on top, disappointing to Karrington or did he resent the fact that still not enough to please him?”

I was able to catch up with Karrington’s partner Kennedy who had this to say about his fellow Ego partner Steven Kennedy “A lot about that night seems like a blur to me. But I do distinctly remember one thing, the look in his eyes. I’ve never seen that look in KC’s eyes. It’s like he wasn’t in control. For a split second, I felt like I was looking at someone else entirely.

We get back to our dressing room after that and he stands there like nothing happened at all. I remember standing there thinking to myself, ‘This guy nearly murdered Outkast in front of an audience.’ I’ve been guilty of some devious stuff in my career, but I’ve NEVER seen someone get absolutely destroyed like that. It’s like something has changed in KC, something that was buried deep within him has finally snapped.”

Thomas went on to say that “ Karrington has what is called a Messiah Complex, state of mind in which an individual holds a belief they are, or is destined to become, a savior mixed with a God Complex where he believes that he is above others.. The scary part of this is that there was no remorse at any of his attacks. In wrestling if you look closely you see feuds go all out but at times there is a peak or hesitations in their attack where there is a line drawn. With Karrington the past few months their has been no bounds for his contempt. Even in his partner Kennedy who seems to condone Karringtons actions there was moments where he back off. That wasn’t the case with Karrington.

The last words from Thomas was an eerie warning to all “ I highly urge wrestlers around the Midwest to keep their distance from Karrington at this time. He is a ticking time bomb that will only get worse. At this point I have to worry about the safety of the fans that Karrington has stated he is here to save.”

Last words from Karrington.

This is the prophecy….I have always been and will always be. I am here to be living water for midwest wrestling and I will raise myself up onto the highest seat of Dynamo Pro Wrestling. I will make myself the Morningstar and the light by which all must follow. My church will be established, and my name will be praised. “

“K.C. be with you. Amen.”

Was she able to be the first ever women to get a win for Metro Sports in the womens division against the returning Stacey O’Brien who was the the 2008 MWR Wrestler of the Year ? On a side note, Lucy fans are dying to have a MWR Trading card of you even if you are a bad girl.(Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

NWA Dynamo Wrestling returns this Saturday in Glen Carbon IL- Trent Stone and Davey Vega vs. Jeremy Wyatt and Mark Sterling.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 23, 2010

After a power outage forced an end to our last event prematurely on July 24th, we are are returning to the Sports Academy in Glen Carbon with a night of exciting action topped with a tag team main event when NWA Missouri Champ Davey Vega and Trent Stone vs NWA Central States Champ Mark Sterling and Jeremy Wyatt.

MTV’s RealWorld/Road Rules Star Dan Walsh will face off against the returning Kevin X.
Will this be the start of Kevin …X’s Road to Gold once again …or will Walsh be the immovable roadblock blocking his path?

Pete Madden has contacted management in regards to Super Castaldi 13.
At Mr Madden’s request a match has been scheduled between Super Castaldi 13 and “The Human Wrecking Ball” Pete Madden. Many may not know but Pete Madden was the man that introduced the original Super Castaldi’s into this area and would like the chance to step into the ring once more against the newest Super Castaldi, out of respect for the great Castaldi wrestling tradition.

After being unable to appear in last months show due to unforeseen car trouble, Shorty Biggs blames himself for the brutal attack done to his tag partner OuTtKaSt after Kast’s victory over “Spoiled” Steven Kennedy at the hands of KC Karrington. This attack left OuTtKaSt bloodied in the ring and with an injured spleen. Shorty vows that Karrington and Kennedy will pay for what was done and blames them for his car trouble which led to the perfect chance to take out 1/2 of their greatest rivals.

Dubi meets the HVW Fans 8-7-2010

MWR made our way to Granite City Illinois for High Voltage Wrestling ’S return from their summer vacation with the show “Balls to the Wall”.

In the air was the feeling for a fun night of wrestling and it had been a few months since we last saw the HVW Champion Kahagas in the Midwest. Also on the card was my good friend Santana G taking on her rival Amy Hennig and a lady that we had not seen before The Great Cheyenne. The rest of the card was a surprise and I was excited to find out who else was to be in action.

High Voltage Wrestling always excites the fans, here are a good group of fans waiting for a great time.

I was not the only one, as there were a big group of fans that came a couple hours early to be first in line for all the hard hitting action. Brian and I took the time to say hello and there were a few familiar faces in this group. One was superfan Firefighter Andrew from Granite City, Illinois, and another one was Joe from Fairmont Illinois. Joe you may recall was one of our fans that had hoped to get a picture with one of his favorites at NWA Dynamo recently with Shorty Biggs. Shorty was unable to make it to the show due to car trouble but the word on the street is that the Ego Express of KC Karrington and Steven Kennedy may have had something to do with the car breaking down.

Shirley, Glenn and Pauline with the Magic Man

The first group of fans that I met to my surprise was big fans of the manager “The Magic Man”. The Magic man is one of the most charismatic men in the sport today and it easy to see why people like him even though his actions seem to be on the shady side at times. Shirley, Glenn and Pauline from Granite City were able to meet the one and only Magic Man.

Kahagas and Clayton

Kahagas with Wrestling09 (John)

Kahagas with Dubray Tallman

I caught up with Clayton from Fairmont, Illinois and John from Granite City who both wanted their picture taken with “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas. I have wanted my picture taken with the champ myself for sometimes. Kahagas English is very limited so thankfully HVW promoter TNT Keny G was able to interpret for us to get Kahagas to understand what Dubi meets the fans is and the three of us was able to get that elusive picture with Kahagas.

Andrew the Firefighter with Kahagas

Before the Champ left Andrew who is a huge Kahgas fan, so much that last year for Halloween (That’s my birthday so if you want to send gifts contact me and I will tell you what I want.) Andrew dressed up as Kahagas.

Picture of Andrew dressing up like Kahagas for Halloween, could a dream team of Kahagas and Andrew happen one day?

So it would only be fair that Andrew got his picture with his Idol.

OuTtKaSt ,Joe and Shorty Biggs

I was happy to see that Joe’s favorite Shorty Biggs was in action with his partner OuTtKaSt and the Bumrush Brothers were ready to repay the Ego’s for the vicious attack they put on OuTtKaSt at NWA Dynamo. If you want to see for yourself check out my buddy Mike Van Hoogstraats photo recap of that event here.

OuTtKaSt , Amanda and Shorty Biggs

The Bumrush Brothers were more than happy to meet Joe. As soon as we were done taking the photo Amanda Blasé from ST Louis let me know that she was all for getting her picture taken with one of today’s most popular tag teams.

Norman with the lovely but dangerous Amy Hennig

I had mentioned about the ladies triple match earlier and it never fails that us ladies can get the attention of you guys in no time. That was true with one of HVW’S strongest supporters Norman who was thrilled to get his picture taken with Amy Hennig.

Julie , Tommy Mike and Anthony with the Midwest Sweetheart Santana G.

I had promised the early birds of the night a picture with one of their favorites before the night was through. Tommy, Mike, Anthony and Julie all decided on HVW own Santana G.

John and Dubray Tallman

Well girls, your not the only one who has your fans, John or as he is known on the wrestling boards, Wrestling09 asked me for another picture beings that Brian lost the last one awhile back that he took of us. I was honored to have my picture taken with one of the Midwest wrestling’s biggest fans.

Dan Walsh with Anastasia and her dad Will.

During the evening the HVW wrestler that was kind enough to wear the MWR shirt to the ring and throw it to a lucky fan turned out to be Dan Walsh. Walsh would have his hand raised against the Magic Mans protege  Sir Bradley Charles but before the bell rang he targeted a young lady in the back and he showed his skills when young Anastasia. After the matches Dan joined Anastasia and her dad Will for a picture.

I would like to thank all the fans and wrestlers who made this Dubi meets the fans a lot of fun. In the near future look for a photo recap of this show and as always look for us at a show near you soon.

Love Dubz.
