Dubi meets the MECW fans 12-4-2010

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 24, 2010

By Dubray Tallman

Happy Holidays everyone, earlier this month we made our way to our good friends at MECW for their final show of the year. Santa was on his way and we were to give away the first of only two MWR Holiday t-shirts, a free gift bag and MECW was giving away a Christmas ham.

This was also their annual toys for tots, that allowed a fan to bring a five dollar toy they got free admission for a kid into the show. Brian was excited to see that Brandon Aarons was going to be in action and asked for him to throw out our shirt prior to his match with Shawn Santel.

The first boy I met was little Jackson that was at his very first MECW show. Jackson was excited about the opportunity to be a part of this article, and even more excited about meeting a wrestler. He asked for me to choose a wrestler for him so I decided to not only choose one but two on this night. Jackson was able to meet the high flying Evan Money and his new tag team partner Buddy Roberts Jr. For the fans out their wandering, yes that is the true son of Buddy Roberts. To be honest I don’t know who that is but Brian states that he was a part of an historic group called the Fabulous Freebirds

Photobucket

Next up was Tiger Roth who was a fan of the MECW Champion Bailey Mannix who grabbed the Lovely Leon as he is walking by. You can see the look on Mannix’s face as the tension between the two have been at a boiling point. Nevertheless the Champ is a true professional and took the picture with the fan.
Photobucket

Ron Hobbs was also happy to meet the top wrestler in MECW, Bailey Mannix while his friend Shannon Courto was very impressed with the looks, I mean wrestling skills of young Brandon Aarons.

Photobucket

As we saw in the past Shawn Santel brings the fans.On this night it was no different as Harry Baumeister, Steela Hernadez, Kaleb Harshbarger, Noah Young, Marissa Scoggins, Cheyann Motley, and Sheryl Baumeister was thrilled to pose with the fans at ringside.
Photobucket

Brandon Aarons wore the MWR shirt and threw it you Noah Dagley who posed with big time MECW fans and MWR friends Chad and Kim Dagley and Ricky Lynn.
Photobucket

Ricky Lynn & Noah Dagley also had the chance to take a photo with The Brawlers and their special guest Santa Clause.
Photobucket
Last but not least I will leave you with a photo from my friends at MECW that called themselves the Fuzzy Hat Club. The Club gathers together for friendships, wrestling and supporting others within the community. The Fuzzy Hat Club loves their beer and having a good time, while often acting silly. Here is a photo of just three of these great people in the Fuzzy Hat Club

Photobucket

This most likely will be the last Dubi Meets the Fans before Christmas, I hope everyone has a happy and safe Christmas.

Join us after then to see Dubi Meets the MMWA-SICW coming to you from East Carondelet Illinois .

Till next time, Merry Christmas

Love Dubz

MWR Christmas wish list of matches for 2011.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 26, 2010

By Brian Kelley

2010 is near a close and the yearly awards are coming up quickly with some very tough decisions to be made from the awards committee over who will honored with the Wrestler, Tag Team, female, and promotion of the year.

So instead of worrying about who I am going to give my vote to I am going to flip the script.

I am going to make my Christmas wish of matches on this Black Friday  that I would like to see in 2011.

Instead of matches that have done before I am going to do my best to name 10 matches that to my knowledge have not happen before.

So without further ado I give you my Christmas wish matches in NO certain order.

1) Bailey Mannix with Lovely Leon

Bailey Mannix with Lovely Leon (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat )

vs.
Jaysin Strife

Jaysin Strife (Photo Credit Gary Giaffoglione)

– It is no secret that I have mad respect for both of these competitors. These two men going at it would be a true wrestling classic. One could say that Mannix has the power advantage but Strife could be just a little faster. Neither man is afraid to get their hands dirty and brawl with the best of them. A true wrestling classic in every aspect.

2) The Barrio Boys (Angel and Domino Rivera) With Lucy Mendez

The Extreme tag team (Photo Credit Jerry Chavez)

vs.

Attitude Inc. (Spencer Powers and Guy Smith )

Attitude Inc. (Guy Smith and Michael Shard) – Can New Midwest Wrestling handle being EXTREME? Former ECW Original Angel and his partner Domino Rivera is two men that many promotions run and hide from signing them to the fed.

Attitude Inc appears to be all show but the Boyz would soon find out that Guy Smith and Michael Shard can go.

3) Dixieland Destroyer with The Magic Man

The Dixieland Destroyer and the Magic Man (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)

vs.

Shane Rich (Photo by Mike Van Hoogstraat)

Shane Rich – The beauty and the Beast is what I would call this AAPW clash. Rich has the good looks and conditioning but would it be enough to overcome the hillbilly power of the Destroyer.

4) Donovan Ruddick

Mephisto feels the power of Donovan Ruddick.

vs.

Abu Colossus

Abu Colossus delivers the pain on Preston Maxwell(Photo Credit Gary Giaffoglione)

– OK I have been begging for this match for a long time now. Don’t believe me click here to read a former article of mine that sets this match up perfectly. With Ruddick on the verge to explode would Colossus put out the spark first.

5) The Hooligans (Devin and Mason Cutter)

The Hooligans

vs.

The Gentleman’s Club (Casanova and Devin Carter) with Todd Countryman.

The Gentleman’s Club (Casanova and Devin Carter)

– The Hooligans have been almost everywhere but they have not been to the 2008 MWR Promotion of the Year 3XWrestling. With the Gentleman’s club running hot shot over everyone would the Hooligans be able to sway the good fortunes over fan favorites? Or would the mastermind Todd Countryman make them his next victim.

6) Lucy Mendez

Lucy Mendez has come on strong in 2010.

vs.

Santana G

Santana has teamed with some top talent in 2010 but she has yet to win the WLW Womens title.

– Two of the most popular women in the Midwest today. Mendez has had all the eyes on her at Metro Pro Wrestling. What if the Midwest Sweetheart was to show up? No women I know wants competition and the real winners in this battle would be us the fans.

7) Jeremy Wyatt

Every young wrestlers nightmare Jeremy Wyatt (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)

vs.

Evan Money

Evan Money-

To become the best that you can be you have to work your way to the top. Money the teenage heart throb has had a solid year in 2010. Wyatt is considered by many to be the best in the game today. You say Money has no chance to survive against “The Rebel”. In Money’s defense he has earned some tough wins but this would be a measuring stick for one of the Midwest hottest young stars. My advice Money, if you have a belt stay far away from “The Belt Collector” Jeremy Wyatt.

8) Dan Walsh

Dan Walsh

vs.

Rory Fox

Rory Fox

-MTV vs MTV – Rory Fox gained national fame as one of the featured personalities on MTV’s True Life while Dan the Danimal” Walsh starred in MTV’s Road Rules. Need I say more.

9) Steve Fender and Mark Sterling

Steve Fender and Mark Sterling (Photo Credit Mike Van Hoogstraat)

vs.
BroMance Jordan McEntyre and Knight Wagner with Eryn

– Different styles for sure, Fender and Sterling are no nonsense hit you in the mouth tag team in the style of Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard while BroMance is….well they are BroMance a team with a lot of flash but can blind you with their double team abilities.

10) Trevor Murdoch

vs

Jonathan Magnus with Stephani King

Jonathan Magnus with Stephani King- No one likes a bully and that is what Magnus is at New Midwest Wrestling. A big man pushing his weight around to keep the NMW title around his waist. I don’t think that Murdoch would be so easy to push around. A match that would be talked about for ages in Springfield Illinois for years to come.

In my personal stocking match-

Crimefighter gets Eric Allens attention

Crimefighter’s chosen wrestler vs. The Pride of Peroia Eric Allen – A perfect match for NMW. It has been over a year ago that we took a look at the contriversal Eric Allen and his supposed win for the “Peorian Pride Championship”, ST louis Wrestling communities Crimefighter called foul quickly. Words and tempers flared between the two in the past but what if the red hot Eric Allen was to show his face in Springfield Illinois at the heart of Crimefighter’s coverage area?

A special attraction match for sure.

Other notable matches

The Cancun Kid vs. Kwong with Chad Mylan
Jason Jones vs. Ryan Phoenix
Preston Maxwell vs. Homicidal Steven Davis
Billy McNiel vs Zach Thompson
Curly vs #1 Brett Young
Jimmy Rockwell vs Brandon Espinosa
Pete Madden vs. Dave Vaughn
Matty Starr vs. Danny Cannon
Tony Cortez vs Brandon Aarons
Dan the Man vs Alexander Rudolph
Bobby Houston vs. Derek Stone
Christian Rose vs. Chris Havius
Bumrush Brothers vs The Beautiful Bodies
Eric Logan vs Tyler Cook
Ron Powers vs. Brian Ash
Donnie Peppercricket vs. Davey Vega
Kory Twist vs. Father Jack Mecidol

Dubi meets the New Midwest Wrestling Fans October 2010

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 16, 2010

By Dubray Tallman

Hello wrestling fans I have returned once again to NMW for the wildly popular”Dubi Meets the Fans” . The night was so full of fast paced action that I got so busy that I did not catch up to the young fan that caught the MWR shirt worn by NMW rising star Christian Rose, but Brian was able to snap a shot of the boy shortly after it happened.

Can it get any better than catching a ring worn MWR shirt from one of the stars of the Midwest?

I first met two fans that were front and center to see wrestling live up close and personal, and both were big fans of “The Appex” Blake Steel. Gary Callahan and Mark Lavigne was able to catch up with Steel.

Blake Steel will need his fans this Saturday when he meets his former partner Eric Ruffington.

Also in the front row were three young boys Austin, AJ and Dawson who were pumped up to see their favorite wrestler enter the battle royal later that night. That man was the big man Sage Ramsey.

3 Sage Ramsey Superfans

Ramsey would take the time prior to the show to pose with the young fans, later he would be face to face with the dangerous Dixieland Destoryer, but he would have the fans on his side as another set of fans wanted their picture taken with him as Bri and Denise Williams and Brooke McAllister from Springfield Illinois posed with the popular NMW star.

I have been told that New Midwest Wrestling have been having a surge of young stars coming to the promotion to make their mark. You may have seen NMW Superstar Bobby Houston call out all of these hard working men here at MWR, one of the men is called the Young Thriller. The Young Thriller had two young ladies in attendance to see him in action. Samantha and Sabrina from Edinbury Illinois got to have their chance to pose with the Young Thriller.

The Young Thriller has won the hearts of the young girls in a short amount of time at NMW.

One of Brian’s favorite wrestlers was also Jeff Grace’s as well, the exciting Ryan Phoenix. Grace from Riverton,m Illinois. Thankfully was able to get his picture with Phoenix before the matches began and why I say that is because during his match with Eric Logan, Logan viciously DDT’D Phoenix from the ring to the unforgiving floor. When we caught up with Phoenix later that night he was still reeling from the blow.

Ryan Phoenix will go for the NMW Championship this Saturday in the Main event.

One guy that has impressed us at NMW ever since we saw him earlier this year for the first time and that is Rip Mystic. Mystic a veteran at NMW has his fair share of fans and three of them are Samantha, Austin and Sara.

Rip Mystic

I would like to thank the New Midwest Wrestling and their fans for being a part of this edition of Dubi Meets the fans.

MWR Fans please join me in Jerseyville Illinois for Independent Hardcore Wrestling for a new Dubi Meets the fans and see the new IHW Champion Sean Vincent go one against the man he beat for the title Brandon Aarons plus a rematch between the “Future” Donovan Ruddick and Mephisto.

MTV’s Road Rules Dan Walsh wins HVW Livewire Championship

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 19, 2010

You have seen him thrill fans on MTV’S reality TV show Road Rules, this past Saturday Dan Walsh won the coveted High Voltage Wrestling Livewire Championship in a 4 man scramble match.

The match featured three of the most talented superstars in St Louis today when the POWERFUL Trent Stone, the FEARLESS OuTKaSt and the BREATHTAKING Billy McNeil gave an exciting match to get their hands on the title.

In a bit of an upset it was Dan Walsh who would have his hand raised at the end of the night but it would not be without controversy as Walsh had a handful of Stone’s tights to get the Victory.

Dan Walsh will have his hands full to hold onto the title, as the HVW Livewire curse or blessing to some have struck many. The first HVW Livewire champion Brandon Espinosa held onto the title for just under and hour till the “Tokyo Monster’ Kahagas  won the title later that night. Kahagas would use the belt as a stepping stone to rocket to the top of the chain by winning the HVW Heavyweight Championship.

Mike Sydal would win his first ever singles championship when he became the HVW Livewire Champion on the way to becoming the 2009 Pro Wrestling Illiustrated Rookie of the Year.
