Last October, Edmund “Livewire” McGuire pinned AAPW Champion, “Serial Thriller” Shane Rich in a tag team main event. AAPW decided McGuire should receive one more opportunity to face Rich for the title. However, since then, AAPW has hired a new booker. The new booker feels that McGuire still needs to prove himself a worthy #1 contender in singles competition. Therefore, McGuire will face a “Mystery Opponent” in the main event in which the winner will be the #1 contender for the AAPW Heavyweight Championship. This booker is being very tight lipped about who he has chosen or will choose to face McGuire. Rumors are already speculating of whom it could be. Will it be a former AAPW Champion? Mississippi Madman and Shawn Shultz are both former champions who have never received a rematch since their respective title reigns ended.

Is it someone who has never received a championship opportunity in AAPW? Wrestlers such as “Da Bomb” Brian James and “Thee” Brandon Espinosa both have very impressive win/loss records in AAPW yet neither has had an opportunity to compete for the AAPW title. Or could it be “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt??? Wyatt has made it quite clear he believes he is the best in the Midwest and was cheated out of the AAPW Championship in his epic battle with Shane Rich. Nobody will know until January 15th.

Also in action; “Playboy” Paul Rose teams with Christian Rose to face The Convoy. The Convoy have had their eyes set on the AAPW Tag Team titles since the company’s inception but have come up short in every opportunity. They are wanting to make 2011 the year of The Convoy.

Pokerface makes his AAPW debut on January 15th. This ring veteran has spent most of his career tearing up the Mid South but has occasionally competed to the Midwest. He believes not only that he can compete in AAPW, but will soon be a top contender and a force to be reckoned with. Who will step up to the challenge of Pokerface?

Others scheduled to appear include: El Magnifico, “Dynamite” Seth Knight, “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony, Heath Hatton, and Carnage.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under.
Be at New Beginnings Assembly, 1011 E. 6th st., West Frankfort, IL.
Doors open at 6pm, Bell time is 7pm

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15th!!!!

A Genesis is reborn at 3XW

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 14, 2010

By Mark Campos

And on the eighth day Todd said let there be 3XWrestling and he saw that it was good. Until last Friday night when an event unfolded the likes of which have never been seen in Des Moines, Iowa! It was the dawning of a new day, a new beginning, a “Genesis” that has been reborn from the originators of 3XW.

The night began with a six man tag team match much to the liking of the sell out crowd at the 3XW arena. “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade along with Nate Bash and Ben Sailor of “American Ground and Air” took on “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson and Maddog McDowell and Krotch from “The Horndogs”. During this back and forth battle Slade’s former tag partner, from Sexy and Smooth, AJ Smooth came out to distract him from the entrance ramp. Smooth, sporting a fresh new buzz cut, was verbally attacking Slade which took him out of his game plan. This allowed Thompson and “The Horndogs” to dogpile on top of Slade to get the win

Smooth got in the ring after the match to argue with Slade when American Ground and Air jumped in the ring in what looked like what was going to be a three on one beat down. And it was. American G&A and Smooth attacked Slade! Thompson tried to come in and make the save but ended up with Slade face down on the mat.

The second match was for the 3XW Pure Wrestling Championship. The current champ, “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong, has been feuding with his ex-tag partner and former Pure champ “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell for months. For this match Kwong’s manager “The Founder of MMA” Chad Mylan was handcuffed to current 3XW President Skylar Pierce to prevent Mylan from interfering in the bout. Rockwell was getting the better of Kwong and hit him with his “Rock on Bomb” (Swanton) and went for a pin attempt. But out of nowhere an unknown man dressed in an all black sheik’s attire viciously attacked Pierce from behind and released Mylan! The three of them attacked Rockwell which got him the win by disqualification but the title does not change hands. It came to be known later that this mysterious assailant is known as The Mauler.

Next up was the rookie “The American Fury” Jon West taking on former 3XW Heavyweight Champion, “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt. School was in session for the young J-Dub as Wyatt tossed him around the ring and stretched the stars and stripes out of him. West tried to mount a comeback but the malicious Wyatt would have none of it and ended the match with a modified crossface. Midnight Guthrie came out to ask Wyatt about his No Disqualification Ironman match with Mark Sterling at the January show. Not one to be at a loss for words Wyatt claims that he is the best pro wrestler in the Midwest and Sterling is no where near his level. This match is already looking like it could be a match of the year contender.

After the intermission was a tag team match for the 3XW Tag Team Championship. The champs “The Gentlemen’s Club” who are “Delicious” Devin Carter and Casanova came out to the ring led by the turncoat Steve Biley. They took on a new team tagging up in 3XW that consisted of Darren Corbin and Shane Hollister! Lots of jaw jacking going on with the wrestlers and the fans for this one. The wrestlers were going all out in the match when the “Club” got an advantage as Biley shoved Corbin into the ring post and knocked him out. Hollister was left out numbered and received a vicious 3D allowing Casanova and Carter to retain the gold.

Another match added to line up featured Brady A. Dezire taking on Knight Wagner. Dezire picked up the win.

After that classic match up Gage Octane walked out to the ring and challenged anybody in the back to come out to face him and his beard. The music hits and out came “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson to accept the challenge! Masterson showed he had heart as Octane really took the boots to him but still he would not be pinned. Finally as Octane was setting him up for his “12 gauge” out of nowhere Masterson reversed the hold and rolled up Octane to get the 1, 2, 3! The 3XW fans went ballistic as Masterson celebrated the victory over “The Gentlemen’s Club” member. Octane shook his head in disbelief as he walked the walk of shame up the ramp.

The main event featured the 3XW Heavyweight Champ, Rory Fox, defending his title against former champ Brian Ash of “The Gentlemen’s Club”. Ash of course did not come alone as the “Commissioner” Todd Countryman and Steve Biley were at his side for the match up. Fox came out and he was looking for blood as he frothed at the mouth waiting to get a hold of Ash or any other “Club” member. Right away Fox drilled Ash in the face with the belt knocking him to the concrete. Ash tried to retreat to the backstage area but Fox was on him and dragged him back to the ring. Biley and Countryman were once again trying to interfere in the match which caused Fox to go even more insane. Fox leaps from the ring and hits Biley with a hard chair shot then bodyslams him onto the cold concrete ground. Fox is going crazy! With Biley out of the way it’s now the “Commissioners” turn to help Ash as he hits Fox in the head with the loaded briefcase. Fox tries to get his head together but the rest of “The Gentlemen’s Club” come out to distract him. Brian Ash took advantage and laid Fox out with his “Devastator”. Brian Ash is once again the 3XW Heavyweight Champion.

“The Gentlemen’s Club” was celebrating in the ring when a promo from Brian Ash began to play over the speakers. He was talking about how they said they would take over 3XW and how the prophecy had been fulfilled. The “Club” then continued to assault Rory Fox until “The Horndogs” rushed the ring to even the odds. As they fought “American Ground and Air” and AJ Smooth came to the ring and joined Ash and company in attacking Fox and the “Dogs”! It was pandemonium! More 3XW wrestlers came to break up the fight along with Midnight Guthrie who unfortunately was on the receiving end of some brutal finishers. The long forgotten cruiserweight “Tortuous” Tony Sly even came running out from the front of the arena and joined in the fight but was with the “Club” also! As 3XW wrestlers were getting a first class beating Nate Bash from “American G&A” took the mic and said that this is a new foundation built from those who had been their since the beginning. Countryman then proclaimed that “The Gentlemen’s Club” is dead! A new regime has taking over 3XW as the forefathers of the company are now known as “Genesis”.

A stunned crowd left the Des Moines Social Club excited yet wondering what will happen next. Make sure to come out to see 3XW’s “Divide and Conquer” on January 7th to see what the future holds for 3XWrestling.

Dubi meets the IHW Fans November 2010 with a special appearance at MECW

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 10, 2010

By Dubray Tallman

We were excited to be a pat of Independent Hardcore Wrestling’s final show of 2010 in Jerseyville Illinois on November 21st.

IHW has had some great matches throughout the year. Add great matches with some buildings full of fans; IHW has to be considered among the finalist for the MWR Promotion of the Year in 2011.

Our good friends Drew and Gary was there to hang out with me during the matches making the night that much more fun.

The MWR wrestler of the night was Neil Diamond Cutter. It had been forever since we saw the youngest Cutter. Neil had his hands full on this night when he was set to face off with the powerful Chris L.O.G.A.N and a very biased referee Ace Roberts. Prior to his match though he wore the MWR shirt to the ring and threw it to young Alex.

Photobucket

Alex was in attendance with his brother Dalton and was able to get his picture taken with a very sore Neil Diamond Cutter.

Photobucket

Graves with his new fan (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

Andrew Feruson from Grafton Illinois was impressed with Graves who had demolished young Johnny Griffen in his very first match. Graves who can be very intimating at times was in good spirits when we asked for a picture with his new fan.

Brandon Aarons has won over fans all around the Midwest in 2010 (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

Nathan Franke from Jerseyville Illinois was glad to see wrestling come to his hometown. Nathan was quick to let me know that he wanted his picture with Brandon Aarons.

Aarons has not only won over the hearts of the women in the Midwest but the respect of the men as well.

Photobucket

Dubray takes a moment from her work of gathering fans for their pictures to meet The Manimal. (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

I sometimes get so busy that I forget to have my picture taken with a wrestling star as well. On this night one guy that was easy to remember was called The Manimal. During his match with Chaz Wesson the Manimal was whipped and chopped in and out of the ring. I had to give him respect though because he did not back out from the punishing blows that was heard throughout the building. I was happy to have my picture taken with the Wildman.

On this night that would not be the only show we would make. As soon as the last bell was rung at IHW, Brian was determined to make it to MECW 30 minutes down the road in Woodriver.

We were able to make it to the main event featuring MECW Champion Eric Allen taking on Bailey Mannix in a 30 Minute Iron Man match. Brian said the clock had 27 minutes 32 seconds on the clock when he took his first shot of this awesome match. In the final minute Mannix would pin Allen and once again becoming the MECW Champion.

For a full photo recap of that match click here

After the match MECW fans Andrew Davis and Blake Young asked to get their picture taken with the new Champion. To make it that much sweeter Brian was able to get MECW Stars Mathew McDarby and Evan Money to in the picture as well.

In the next edition of Dubi meets the fans we were at MECW’s final show of the year on December 4th.

You can catch me at MMWA-SICW this Saturday to be a part of Dubi meets the MMWA-SICW fans. Please join me for a great night of wrestling.

Introducing Ohio Valley Wrestling Trainee Michael Hayes

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 7, 2010

Last month at Pro Wrestling Epic we were on hand to watch the PWE Champion the Mississippi Madman team up with former WWE’s Eugene to take on “The Future” Donovan Ruddick and Mason Beck.

During the evening I had the chance to sit down with a young Michael Hayes. Hayes is just beginning to train under Eugene (Nick Dinsmore )and the rest of the staff at Ohio Valley Wrestling.

The website says it best

Ohio Valley Wrestling is recognized around the world as one of the finest professional wrestling training facilities in the industry. OVW counts among its many accolades that it was once one of the official developmental programs for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the sport’s leading promotion.

Over the years, OVW has trained over one hundred superstars for the WWE, including many current and past WWE Champions: Batista, John Cena, Victoria, Doug and Danny Basham, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Randy Orton, plus many more including Rob Conway, Eugene, Sylvan Grenier, Bobby Lashley, and Lance Cade.

Located in Louisville, Kentucky, OVW‘s training center is under the supervision of OVW owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis, a former pro wrestler with nearly 30 years’ experience in wrestling, managing, promoting, and training, with Rip Rogers as lead trainer – who is a veteran pro wrestler and trainer in his own right.

Let me share with you a special interview I did with Hayes.
