From the office of PWCS

We are honored to officially announce the inaugural season of a groundbreaking promotion, PWCS: Professional Wrestling Championship Series. PWCS is an all-new promotion with a large focus on factions and stables.

Each win/loss in a PWCS contest will count towards that faction’s overall record. At the end of the 2014 season, PWCS will hold its “Championship Spectacular,” in which the main event will feature the two factions with the best records squaring off in a huge elimination contest to crown the 2014 PWCS Champions!

Our first event “Stage One” will take place on May 31st, 2014 from the Tri City YMCA in Granite City, IL! This will mark the first pro wrestling event in over two years for this great wrestling town. We are proud to be a part of pro wrestling’s return to Granite City.

In the coming weeks, we will reveal the factions that have signed on to compete in the 2014 PWCS season, how they came together, and the exciting contests that are signed for Stage One on May 31st!

But we don’t want to leave you guessing about the quality of action you will see at a PWCS event, so we’d like to announce our first signed match: hometown favorite “The Dirty Rook” Mat Fitchett will go one-on-one with JoJo Bravo in a guaranteed can’t-miss bout. What factions will these men be representing? What other matches can you expect? Stay tuned to our Twitter feed (@PWCSWrestling), Facebook page (PWCSWrestling), and YouTube channel (PWCSWrestling) over the next several weeks.

If you already want to guarantee you will not miss the PWCS debut event, you can send us a Facebook message or send an email to pwcswrestling@gmail.com with your name and how many tickets you need. Act fast! Seats are limited and reserved tickets are just $10!

Jake Dirden is facing challengers from all sides…and the Dynamo Tag Team Titles changed hands for the first time in nearly two years!

The night started at the Stratford Inn in Fenton with Jeremy Wyatt taking on newcomer Andrew Wilder. “The Belt Collector” had his sights set on one of the few championships that he hasn’t held…and while Wilder put up a good fight, he was outmatched in this case. Wyatt forced the youngster to tap out to a unique half-crab variation.

Another favorite in the night’s battle royal was Alexandre Rudolph. Rudolph’s size and power were a major factor in that instance, but he showed his intelligence earlier in the night by reversing Geek Singh‘s armbar attempt into a pinning combination.

 photo 1620645_669586626412992_1521976101_n_zps368684d9.jpg

Executive Director Mark Bland hyped the night’s lineup but was interrupted by manager Travis Cook. With Ken Kasa and Dave Vaughn‘s Missouri licensing up in the air, Cook was seemingly left without representation on the show…but he had something else in mind for the evening.

Rivals Mike Sydal and “Showtime” Bradley Charles did battle…Sydal was the crowd favorite on this night and picked up the win after a moonsault while holding his yoga mat.

It was every man for himself in a four-corner bout featuring Jon Webb, “The Alternative” Brandon Gallagher, Ace Hawkins, and Evan “Money” Morris. Alliances formed and were quickly tossed aside as only one man could emerge victorious; that mentality worked in Gallagher’s favor as he took advantage of the chaos that ensued. After Webb hit Sliced Bread #2 on Hawkins, Gallagher threw Webb out of the ring and pinned Ace with feet on the ropes for illegal leverage.

Kevin X took on Mark Sterling in a battle of heavy hitters. Sterling’s crossfit background allowed him to hang in there with the veteran, but Kevin X took home the victory after his signature Pavement Drop. Bland announced that Kevin X would get the next title shot at Jake Dirden at the Off Broadway show…and that brought out the champion himself. Dirden complained that Bland was simply “handing out” title shots to whoever wanted them and that he should only be facing the most worthy challengers. By the end of the night, Dirden would have no shortage of opponents on his agenda.

The title was not on the line as Dirden faced WLW Heavyweight Champion Elvis Aliaga. Aliaga lose a close bout to Dirden in January with the Dynamo Championship at stake; however, Elvis claimed the referee had prematurely called for the bell when he lost consciousness in the Asiatic Spike hold. This time around, Aliaga was all business as he took the fight to his larger opponent…but things got out of control and the fight ended in a no-contest after both men shoved the official. All three referees and Mark Bland entered the ring to restore order, but Dirden laid out Aliaga with the title belt. Dirden took his leave, but not before literally shoving the belt in Bland’s face.

After the Black Hand Warriors scored a victory over Shorty Biggs and Evan “Money” Morris last month, Shorty and his Tag Team Championship partner Outtkast had to defend their belts against the WLW Tag Champs. Michael Magnuson and David DeLorean showed their tag team expertise as they took the champs to their limit, but the Bumrush Brothers turned the tide before Travis Cook made his presence known. The champs and the referee were both distracted and DeLorean took advantage with a low blow on Shorty…DeLorean put Magnuson on top of Shorty and the referee turned around to make the three-count. The Bumrush Brothers’ 22-month reign as champions had ended…and it looks like Travis Cook has a new tag team in his stable! As of this writing, there’s no word on what Kasa and Vaughn feel about the situation…

 photo 1011215_669586549746333_2039385579_n_zps9aada7de.jpg

The Dynamo Rumble was a situation with no friends or allies…only one competitor could walk away as the winner with a guaranteed Heavyweight Title shot. Several favored competitors entered the fray along with some surprise entrants; Lucy Mendez was the second entrant and the lone female contender, lasting several minutes before being eliminated by Wyatt. Newcomer Andino Giovanni made his return after a long injury layoff, battling several more experienced opponents until being double-teamed by Wyatt and SBC. Rudolph was the powerhouse of the field, eliminating several entrants and lasting until the final four.

Several existing issues surfaced in the midst of the battle; Sydal and SBC locked horns once again, leading to Charles throwing Sydal out of the ring and getting some retribution for his earlier loss. Wilder crossed paths with Wyatt once again and was sent floorward. The Black Hand Warriors had to deal with not only the Bumrush Brothers but also Jack Gamble; Gamble and partner Jon Webb had been targetting the pair’s WLW Tag Titles in recent months. DeLorean eliminated Gamble, but the Black Hand Warriors’ night wasn’t quite over.

Outtkast eliminated DeLorean, then Magnuson entered only to be jumped in the aisleway by Shorty Biggs! Shorty didn’t want to wait for his official entrance to the matchup as he assaulted Magnuson at ringside, then brought him into the ring for a double-team beating and elimination. Undaunted, Magnuson pulled Shorty to the floor from outside the ring…that issue is nowhere close to being settled..

Dan Walsh hit the ring and immediately set his sights on Brandon Gallagher; Gallagher had cost Walsh a match to Kevin X in January and “Walking Reality” wanted to get some payback. Walsh sent his blue-haired rival sailing out of the ring…but Gallagher didn’t call it a night just yet.

Elvis Aliaga was a surprise entrant at #20…he had already tangled with Dirden earlier in the night, but he wanted another shot at the big man even if he had to win the battle royal to do it. The final four of the match were Wyatt, Rudolph, Walsh, and Aliaga…the remaining competitors focused their efforts on Rudolph, allowing Wyatt to finally get him out of the ring. Wyatt threw Walsh over the ropes…and Gallagher(who was still lurking at ringside) pulled him to the floor to cause his elimination!

That left the first and last entrants to battle it out, so Dirden made his way to ringside to observe the outcome. However, his presence was a distraction to the wrestlers in the ring, particularly Aliaga; that allowed Wyatt to knock Elvis off the top rope to the floor, scoring a huge win in the battle royal!

Dirden and Wyatt confronted each other after the match, but Kevin X made his way to ringside to remind Dirden that his title shot is in a few weeks. With Kevin X, Wyatt, and possibly Aliaga in his future, the Dynamo Heavyweight Champion has a lot on his plate in the upcoming months!

For many fans in St. Louis, Gary Jackson is truly one of the best wrestlers in the past 3 decades. Known as “The Great One”, Jackson has entertained fans with exciting matches and reminding them of the Rules.

 photo GaryJackson3_zps7d1499c7.jpg

What many may not know is that Jackson has been a proud American for the past 25-years serving our country. Last week prior to making his way to the packed house at the Historic South Broadway Athletic Club, Jackson officially retired from the Missouri Air Force National Guard as a Master Sargent.

We were able to catch up with Jackson was still in his military uniform entering the building straight from the honorary ceremony at  Jefferson Barracks, along with his grandson Terrance Woods.

Jackson would go onto defeat Brandon Gallagher with his Cloverleaf submission in the middle of the ring to add another victory in his illustrious career.

This Saturday night, fans can see Jackson in action in East Carondelet, Illinois for SICW taking on the 2013 MWR Future Star of the Year Alexander Rudolph.

Thankfully for the fans of the area, Jackson shows no sign of slowing down.

Gary Jackson

A Husband
A Father
A Grandfather
A champion wrestler
A Solider
And a proud American

We salute you Gary today here at Missouri Wrestling Revival on Feb 15 on a day we would like to call “Gary Jackson Day”.

Congrats to the 2014 MWR Sexiest Wrestler of the Year- Lucy Mendez

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 14, 2014

 photo 942576_10152867785280083_463739578_n_zps338d25fb.jpg

We would like to thank all fans that took the time to vote in the 2014 MWR Sexiest Female of the Year voting. This year we featured several of the top women wrestlers in the country. We are exciting and honored that they have supported MWR throughout the years and know that each of these athletes have fans wanting to have more women’s wrestling matches in 2014.

This year the fans came out in the masses to their computers to vote for who was their favorite to be named the 2014 MWR Sexiest Wrestler of the Year.

Without further ado, the female wrestler that received the most votes in one of the biggest weeks in the history of MWR is none other than former 2-time World League Wrestling Female Champion, Metro Pro Wrestling, Dynamo Pro Wrestling, Resistance Pro, 3XWrestling, Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling and StricktlyNsane ProWrestling star Lucy Mendez.

 photo 27_zpsb3d6b27e.jpg

Jake Parnell found out quickly at SICW that if you do not treat Lucy Mendez with respect then she will beat it out of you.

Mendez has been a proven ratings booster in the TV market, as the former model turned wrestling star has won the hearts of fans throughout the wrestling world since her debut. It was no surprise that she would get so many votes to us because no matter where we go that she is at, fans are coming up to ask her if we could ask her if she would take a photo with them.

The top 3 runner-ups were none other than

1) Santana G
2) “Miss Natural” Heather Patera
3) Jordynne Grace

Once again we would like to thank each of you that took the time to vote for these talented women and be sure to let your favorite promotion that you would love to see your favorite come in to wrestle under the big lights above the squared circle.

In the near future MWR’s fan relations Dubray Tallman will be hunting down Lucy Mendez to present her with her very own 2014 MWR Sexiest Wrestler trophy!!

Santana Garrett Has Her Eyes Set on Barbi Hayden NWA Women’s World Championship

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 11, 2014

Santana Garrett continues to be RED hot in the world of pro wrestling. In her young career she has been featured in many of the top wrestling promotions in the country including WWE: NXT, TNA PPV’S, SHIMMER and SHINE. Fans have been thrilled to see Santana G grace the pages of Pro Wrestling Illustrated and with her being featured as the cover girl for the Ring Sirens December issue the magazine has been selling like crazy.

 photo ringsirensdecember2013thumb_zpsdfea06b4.png

With the popularity and beauty of Santana Garrett, it can be easily forgotten that she is a women that is very focused on being the top female wrestler in the world today. She possess all three qualities that every wrestler would like to have, talent, charisma and the looks. That has led to success in single victories and tag team championships at WOW with partner Amber O’Neal.

Yet, her biggest test is set to come as she is seeking to capture a title that she has yearned to have for years, the NWA Women’s World Championship currently held by the talented Barbi Hayden. If Santana G is to accomplish her goal to be the NWA Women’s Champion, she will have earned it as Hayden is as good as they come. Hayden has been a fighting champion ever since defeating Kacee Carlisle at NWA Houston and has a victory against Santana Garrett early on, but Santana Garrett has shown that she is able to recover from a loss and return even better.

The NWA is on the upswing with a NWA President Bruce Tharpe regaining a presence in Japan and classic matches that include the likes of SATOSHI KOJIMA defeating the “IRONMAN” Rob Conway for the NWA World title, and quite possibly the most talented group of wrestlers in the NWA top 10 in years.

Many believe that Santana Garrett is the future of the sport, but she can only be as good as her opponents and the feuds that she has. Flair had Steamboat, Hogan had Andre and Stone Cold had Vince…….Is it only fitting that Garrett has Hayden…. .

Could 2014 be the year for Women’s wrestling in the NWA? If Santana Garrett has anything to say about it, it will.

Look for NWA World Champion Barbi Hayden vs. Santana Garrett to heat up this spring near a ring near you.

The World League Wrestling Tag Team Champions the Black Hand Warriors (David Delorean and Michael Magnuson) has become the first tag team to our knowledge to capture another tag team title during their WLW title reign. The Black Hand Warriors marched into Dynamo Pro Wrestling with the “Manager of Champions” Travis Cook leading the way as they ended the Bumrush Brothers (Shorty Biggs and Outtkast) 22 month long reign as Champs. The turning point in the match was a low blow heard around the world, as DeLorean took advantage on Shorty when the referee had his back turned to seal the victory and capture the Dynamo Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

Look for a full recap from Patrick Brandmeyer on here soon.
