Golden Circle: Fake By Greg Anthony

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 5, 2011

Wrestling’s four letter word, fake. The most derogatory term used to describe our business but also the term used the most. However 100% of those who use that term are also 100% that have never stepped in a ring, took a bump, run the ropes, been hit with a chair or about 1,000 other wrestling related adjectives. To those who have dared to call wrestling “fake” in my presence, I’ve asked but one question… fake to who?

It doesn’t feel fake when I get up in the mornings. I’m sure my colleagues can attest to the everyday pain that would make most file for disability or ask for a seated job at work. So if it obviously isn’t fake to the wrestlers then maybe its fake to the fans. The close to 10 million fans that tune into professional wrestling every week. No wrestling isn’t real, then it must be a figment of our imaginations.

The word “fake” to describe professional wrestling is simply rude. Do we call Robert DeNiro “fake” because he really didn’t kill a pimp to save an underage prostitute? No we honor his work, understand that his perfection of his craft should be celebrated. I don’t want to sit and watch three hours of interpetive dance but I’m not going to diminish the hard work and sacrifice of dancer by calling it fake just because I don’t share that passion.

Cartoons are fake, not wrestling. I’m not trying to make the whole world love wrestling like I do, I’m just trying to educate the obviously ignorant. Next time you encounter someone that tries to make you feel inferior because you love wrestling then remember wrestling has real people with indirect real pain performing for real fans that pay real money, I promise.

Who is the MWR’S Sexiest wrestler in the Midwest?

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 3, 2011

 Photobucket

Hello everyone it is Dubray again and in this special feature we are going to get down to the very bottom of what all girls want to know at a wrestling show. No it is not who is the champ or what happened at the last show. Yes it could be where our girlfriends got that cute dress and how did she get it so cheap.

Sorry I am getting sidetracked, what we really want to know is, who is the sexiest guy in the Midwest. I have been to over a 150 plus shows all around the Midwest the past few years and I can proudly say that I have seen most of the hard bodies in the area. While Brian is trying to get that exclusive interviews with thel ikes of the Mississippi Madman or the picture of the newly crowned Champion, my eye is on the prize.

So in honor of Valentine’s Day I have set up a poll for all the ladies in the Midwest to vote for who is exactly is the sexiest wrestler in the Midwest. The final vote will be taken on Feb 13 at 11:59

PWP Fans! We kicked off 2011 with a bang in January! Preston Maxwell was crowned the new PWP Heavyweight Champion, although his methods were
questionable. Now, we look forward to our next big event!

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2011

…The big question is who will face Preston in his first title defense? At the time of this writing, Matty Star has still not been cleared to wrestle, suffering a concussion and bruised trachea after a brutal attack at the hands of Preston Maxwell. Therefore we are proud to announce:

PWP Heavyweight Championship:
Preston Maxwell defends against “Babyface” Tony Cortez

This is a rematch from January, however, both men will be fresh and at 100%. Maxwell bested Cortez after he had already gone through two other top competitors in January, can he best the “Icon of PWP” one more time?

Grudge Match:
Chris Havius Vs. Branden Juarez

If you’ve been following PWP, you know the history of these men. Two time Tag Team Champions together and once great friends, a bitter Juarez turned
on Havius and took him out of action for months. In January, Havius returned and laid a beating into Juarez who has been taking liberties with various members of the PWP roster. Then he laid out the challenge and the match WILL happen, Havius Vs. Juarez! This is going to be a very intense heated battle!

“The Passion” Zac James w/ Axel Greece Vs. Brian Gott w/ Derek Cornell

The Beautiful Bodies have been after the PWP Tag Team Championship for months, and if Brian Gott can best Zac James here, it may convince PWP
Officials to give them another title shot. However if James can win, it could move the Bodies further down the ladder.

Supafli Vs. David Clark

Two of PWP’s most popular contenders will go one on one with each other to find out who has the edge. Supafli returns to PWP after a short absence, and you know he will be looking to immediately continue on the path he started
last year. Clark on the other hand has been trying to move up the ranks and
a win here would definitely help him accomplish that.

Also on the card: Joey Daniels, Derek Cornell, Sir Bradley Charles, Jimmy
Rockwell, Shawn Nautilus, Zach Thompson & more!

National Guard Armory

Dubi Meets the 3XWrestling fans January 2011

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 3, 2011

By Dubray Tallman

Hello everybody, Dubray here once again to ring in the new year as we had the very first Dubi Meets the fans for 2011 in Des Moines Iowa at 3XWrestling. The show was on a Friday so we both took personal days so we could not miss the main event of Mark Sterling taking on Jeremy Wyatt in a 60 minute Iron Man match.

We packed for two nights as we planned on staying in Des Moines as we were going to head to Kansas City for Metro Pro Wrestling the following night for Metro Pro Wrestling TV Champion Trevor Murdock defending his title against my very favorite Derek Stone.

Brian had met up with a new friend from Iowa and they were talking about Central
States Wrestling back in the day and before I knew it the doors opened early for the fans that had bought tickets in advance.

Photobucket

Elizabeth Robb and the New 3XW Tag Team Champions The Horndogs

The first lady I met were Elizabeth Robb from Des Moines Iowa. This was Elizabeths first time at 3xwrestling and she had came with her cousins to see what she was missing. Elizabeth wanted to get her picture with the Canadian Sex Icon Ryan Slade, but Slade had left the building after his match so Elizabeth took the chance to get her picture with the Horndogs, Krotch and Maddog McDowell.

Photobucket

Tyler Lindsey and Jonathan West.

Up next was the very excited Tyler Lindsey. Tyler quickly got permission from his family to be a part of Dubi meets the fans. Tylers pick was the young star Jon West.

Photobucket

PWI Photographer Wayne McCarty and Dubi meets the fans own Dubray Tallman.

Brian was excited about the chance to meet Wayne McCarty who I was told is one of the premier wrestling photographers in the country. Wayne wore the MWR shirt as he took photographs throughout the exciting night of wrestling throughout the evening.

Photobucket

Connor Olson with Sir Bradley Charles

The next group was a father and son duo from Ames Iowa Chad and Connor Olson. They were big fans that have been coming since last march to 3Xwrestling. Connor has great taste in his wrestlers as he chose the 2010 MWR Future Star of the Year Sir Bradley Charles and took the picture without his father.

Photobucket

Samantha and her husband Cory Sorter with Zach Thompson.

During the show I met two new friends Samantha and her husband Cory Sorter. They were partying after the show at 3XW’S after party at Z’s Bar but prior to that they got their picture taken with “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson .

The following evening we made our way to Metro Pro Wrestling. MPW is a promotion that is running on all cylinders with some exciting wrestling and some very interesting feuds. As you may have heard my man Derek Stone took down the Champ, Trevor Murdock to become the MPW TV Champion.

A great weekend of wrestling and good times with the fans and staff at 3XWrestling, if you get a chance I urge you to check out 3XWrestling this coming Friday Feburary 4th

and Metro Pro Wrestling

on March 5th for another TV taping.

Till the next time,
Love ya
Dubz

MWR Trading Cards Mike Sydal and MsChif are an endangered collectable!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 2, 2011

Photobucket

Artwork of Mike Sydal is from The Promotion’s Artist Rob Schamberger.

MWR fans 2010 has been a year that saw the debut of the hottest wrestling trading cards in the Midwest. The MWR Trading cards that features the hard working men and women of the Midwest that brings to your town the most exciting night of action for your buck.

The set has been given rave reviews from fans and wrestlers alike. In the set you will find the best of the best in the Midwest in a collectable.

The cards are not like the Beanie Baby faze that rock the country a few years ago, having people going crazy trying to get the new baby only to find out their were plenty to go around after all. You will not find these at Wal-Mart or the gas station by the tons until the new ones come out so they can move them to the dollar store to make room.

You can only get two ways.
1) The wrestler themselves or
2) From the MWR family.

I am grateful for all the fans that have purchased these cards to put in their personal collection.

The best way to get these cards is from the wrestler themselves, not only can you add it to your collection but they can autograph them for you.

I am sad to say that the cards are so limited that we are not out of single cards of the 2009 PWI Rookie of the Year and Ring of Honor Star Mike Sydal and the ultra popular MsChif . We have some stashed away in our complete set inventory and hopefully Mike and MsChif may have some still in their stock that you can purchase but if not then the ship has sailed at this time.

Don’t fret MWR fans, we have been in talks with the hottest rising star in the sport today about putting out a B card, yes a variant card of Rock and Roll Mike Sydal as well as the most talented female in the country MsChif .

For the fans who was fortunate to get your hands on his first card,  you now have a chance to get the very first MWR Variant trading card of a Midwest star….And if by chance you waited and didn’t get one then you have no excuse this time to say you have a Mike Sydal or MsChif trading card.

Look for an update in the future on the announcement and do not hesitate to pick up a MWR Trading Card from the wrestler themselves at a show near you.

The artwork of Mike Sydal  is from the hottest comic in the Midwest, The Promotion. The Promotion is drawn from none other than Rob Schamberger.

Please support Rob and his hard work by purchasing a copy of his comic for only .50 cents here
