At South Broadway Athletic Club, MMWA-SICW fans witnessed multile title changes, a debut and a rebellion that shook the foundation of The Connection. With wrestlers coming out of retirement and others breaking through and making their mark in the company, one has to wonder how the events of the night will impact the future of MMWA-SICW.

According to the St. Louis Wrestling Community Message Board, Jaysin Static and Core wrestled to a time limit draw and Johnny Blade defeated Waco.

In the third match of the night, Junior Heavyweight Champion Dave Vaughn, with Travis Cook, took on A.J. Williams in a title defense. The contest was fairly even, as these two men have faced each other on a number of occassions.

While Travis Cook was urging Vaughn to get dirty, Vaughn had a moment of doubt as he hesitated with a punch.

Both seemed to be one-step ahead of the other, making it hard to determine the outcome. Ten minutes in, Vaughn gained control and looked poised for victory, as he foiled all of Williams’ attempts to gain the advantage. Vaughn and Williams took their battle to the outside, with Vaughn overpowering his opponent But when they returned to the ring, Vaughn became distracted and Wiliams connected with a superkick. With Cook by his side, Vaughn had an out for Williams’ pin attempt, as Cook distracted the ref just long enough for Vaughn to recover and kick out. The champ then went for the spear, but Williams side-stepped and Vaughn nearly knocked Cook off the ring apron. This minor distraction gave Williams the perfect opportunity to pin the unsuspecting Vaughn and reclaim the Junior Heavyweight Title.

After the match, Vaughn, clearly upset about the loss, extended his hand to Williams as a sign of respect. Hesitant at first, Williams accepted and Vaughn raised Williams’ hand as well.

The fans loved this. Cook hated it. Cook then claimed that he should have held the belt since he made Vaughn a champion; he went on to say “Don’t make me fire you!” to which Vaughn responded, “I quit!”

Shaft continued his battles with authority this month, as he faced the Commissioner Keith Smith, who overpowered Shaft from the opening bell.

The two appeared to be playing a game of cat and mouse, with neither man willing to give an inch. Shaft had to resort to illegally choking Smith to gain the upper hand. After five minutes of mind games, Smith countered with an eye rake and attempted to take over.

The fans were behind Smith 100 percent, but Shaft’s persistence kept the commissioner at bay. Near the closing moments, Shaft looked poised for victory, but Phil E. Blunt ran out to interfere, causing the disqualification victory for Smith. Then, Gary Jackson and the Lumberjacks ran out to aid Smith.

The Connection comes in to run rough shot on Smith.

Moondog Rover took on Purple Passion after intermission. Neither Passion nor Rover could control the match for an extended length of time. However, both men got in some offense, Passion with punches and chops in the corner and Rover with his typical, punishing dog-like attacks. In just over 10 minutes, Rover got the pin, but he uncharacteristically attacked Passion after the match with the bone he carries to the ring.

MMWA-SICW’s American Hero, Johnny Courageous, took on newcomer Ziggy Bones. Courageous controlled most of the match with his technical skill, but Bones turned the match into a bit of a brawl when he took it out of the ring.

The fan support for Courageous far outweighed that of Bones, giving Courageous more willpower and desire tocome out on top. This proved beneficial for the American Hero as he soundly defeated Bones to cheers and echoing chants of “U-S-A!!”

Heavyweight Champion “Gorgeous” Gary Jackson put his title on the line against Blunt prior to the main event. Blunt had his work cut out for him against the champ, but he put Jackson to the test. Blunt had the advantage before the match even began because of Cook’s presence at ringside.

When Blunt could not take control in the ring, he connected with unyielding punches and subsequently tossed Jackson out of the ring. Blunt easily returned to the squared circle, as Jackson struggled. Cook hindered Jackson even more, as he hit Jackson to slow him down, then ran to the opposite side of the ring to suggest his innocence. Though, the champion would not give up easily.

When Blunt attempted a high knee in the corner, Jackson moved out of the way and, with Blunt writhing in pain on the mat, dropped the elbow. He just about retained the belt when he went to put Blunt in what may have been the Texas cloverleaf, but Blunt countered and won the match and the Heavyweight Championship. Blunt got on the microphone and proclaimed, “The age of 4:20 is on and smoking.” Jackson thanked the fans for the support and made no excuses for his loss. He then added that he will regain the belt because it belongs to both himself and the fans.

Lumberjack Abe, with Lumberjack Gabe, wrestled Bobby D in the main event of the evening. Abe had the advantage early on, but the match soon spilled out of the ring, and neither of the men had the upper hand—they just pounded on each other. But once back in the ring, Abe took over once again and continued to wear down his opponent. D barely had a chance to get in any offense, and seemed winded before the bell even rang. Abe jumped on that observation as he choked D on the ropes and pinned him shortly thereafter.

To witness more MMWA-SICW action as it unfolds, make it a point to go to East Carondelet, IL this Saturday, Aug, 22 at the East Carondelet Community Center.

Editor’s Desk…
by Josh Ray

Indy wrestling is crazy enough most of the time, but when my day job and personal life became more hectic over the summer I took a break of sorts.  With a new house, an ill son, a new job, and a few other things, I needed to save wrestling energy for the November 14th MWR show in Granite City, IL.   Brian and Kari have been aware of all of these changes and have been very supportive.  I couldn’t ask for two better people to help me with Missouri Wrestling Revival.  All three of us are ready to put together an excellent show.

Even with some of the recent disorganization, MWR has been receiving attention both publicly and behind the scenes due to hard work from the crew.  I had to turn down two separate sponsorship offers because of an actual offer to buy the MWR site!  All I can confirm is that their have been negotiations on specific details of a “buyout” for nearly two months, but that nothing has been finalized.  I am making sure that the offer affords members of the site to continue working more in depth with the indy wrestling community in the area.  If the deal materializes into something more concrete, the news will be broken here first!  The November show is in no danger of being cancelled, because the earliest the transaction could happen would be December 2009.

I’m excited about the MWR show on November 14, 2009 in Granite City, IL at the River’s Edge Reception Center.  It’s a small venue that packs a lot of potential when utilized correctly.  Some of my excitement  was stifled for the show, however, when last Saturday at a High Voltage Wrestling show the 2008 Wrestler of the Year, “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt, decided that he was upset about not having a match at the show.  I had originally invited him to appear at the High Voltage Wrestling show this past Saturday with the blessing of HVW owner “TNT” Keny G.  Wyatt was supposed to talk about his November 14th main event showdown with Dingo to defend the Wrestling Revival Cup that was awarded to him this past year.  Instead, he took offense to the fact that I hadn’t set up a match for him that night and decided to take it out on the fans…  going as far as putting his hands on me in an attempt to intimidate me.

Wyatt at one point told a child that the young boy looked as if a firecracker had blown up in his mouth!  I’d venture to guess that during our short interaction in the middle of an HVW ring, at least four people attempted to fight him.  He’s easily one of the most hated men in the area.  To get him to leave the fans alone, I relented and offered to get him an opponent for HVW’s October 10th show.  “TNT” Keny G once again stepped in and allowed a match…  I’ve got a scrappy individual in mind that will give Wyatt more than he wants on October 14th.  Win or lose, Wyatt will go one-on-one with Dingo for the Wrestling Revival Cup on November 14th.

Kari Williams, MWR’s MVP, will be headed to college shortly.  Her mom was the MVP of the October 10th HVW show in the eyes of a certain security worker and some of the wrestlers, as she brought a cake to commemorate the occassion.  I didn’t have any of the cake, but I certainly wish Kari the best of luck.  She’s a breath of fresh air in an atmosphere that can be more than a little frustrating for this lover of discipline and order.  In my humble opinion, she would make a fine addition to any sports publication or website writing staff!  Pro Wrestling Illustrated, are you reading this?

Speaking of PWI, MWR staff worked hard to sing the praises of many in the coverage area for this year’s PWI 500.  I’d say that between Kari, Brian, and I there was a lot of representation in the PWI 500 nominating, but only a few made the cut.  All were deserving, as the Midwest tends to be underrepresented in my opinion, but still having as many non-WWE,TNA, and ROH Midwest talents on the list meant a lot.  It was also a huge boost for Missouri Wrestling Revival, as MWR was given a nod in Jeremy Wyatt’s PWI 500 entry.

A promotion that does get as much coverage on the site is IWA Productions.  The IWAP shows continue to draw well and feature some of the best in the area on a consistent basis, in addition to some young lions.  Guys like Shane Rich, Steven Davis, Mississippi Madman, Curly, Jay Spade, and more compete there weekly and I personally take the hit for not giving them more recognition.  They tend to do well in the monthly awards, and wrestlers and promoters alike around the area respect what IWAP is doing week in and week out.

Two more men that I feel have really come into their own as a tag team in the past four to six months are Pierre Abernathy and Evan Gelistico, who wrestle as both the Bandana Mafia and Submission Squad.  Currently the LWA Tag Team Champions, these two wrestled a nearly flawless match this past weekend, and have wins over Dingo/Nick Tyson, the Hooligans, and Ego Express recently.  I personally extended a hand to each man this weekend, congratulating them on a great match against Neil “Diamond” Cutter and Blackhart.

Mark Bland versus “The Future” Donovan Ruddick will finally happen on October 10, 2009.  My belief is that the longer this match goes, the more it will benefit Ruddick, as Bland is a very explosive wrestler…  but lacks the cardio for a longer bout.  Expect Bland to get a lot of cardio training in during the weeks leading into the match.  I know that some people have expressed disapproval for how long this match has taken to get signed, but if something is interesting like this feud is, then it is worth waiting for.  I know both men will be giving it their all.

3XWrestling had a very successful 4th Anniversary celebration and on August 21st will roll that success into an event that features the King of Des Moines Tournament.  The night will see Jeremy Wyatt challenging for Devin Carter’s newly regained 3xW Heavyweight Title.  If you are in the Des Moines area on August 21st or don’t mind a drive, go check it out.  The event will be held at the Des Moines Social Club…  a great venue for pro wrestling!  The men behind 3XWrestling are some of the most intelligent, professional, and passionate men in professional wrestling.  Some of the best talent in the area goes through 3XW!

I am but one man, and covering every promotion in the area as well as I’d like might be asking too much of me.  Nonetheless, I love pro wrestling and MWR is committed to making wrestling in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, and Kansas better!

MECW July Recap- Bailey Mannix wins the title. Krotch turns on the MECW fans!!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 18, 2009

Missouri Wrestling Revival Rewind- After Ryan Slades huge win to attain the first ever MECW Great Plains Trophy Battle Royal he had these words for all his fans.

Now for the MECW July recap

MECW Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match:

MECW Tag Team Champions: Huge In Japan: Jimmy Rockwell and Ricky Kwong
vs.
Deliciously Smooth: “Delicious” Devin Carter and AJ Smooth
vs.
The Bayou Outlaws: Maddog McDowell and The “Creole Kid” Aaron Masterson

This was a surprise match right from the mind of Mr.K himself!! Once again XXXplicit Content made their presence felt and with great destine by the MECW Family it didn’t seem like the fans wanted to hear what they had to say regardless if their point was that Huge In Japan: The MECW Tag Title Holders felt that they shouldn’t have to defend their MECW Tag Team Championships that night, because after all they had already beaten The Bayou Outlaws in a rematch.

Mr.K said “Well that’s funny because you’re not facing The Bayou Outlaws! You’re facing the newest MECW acquisition tonight! Because the deal agreement was their first match was for the MECW Tag Team Championships!”

Before Mr.K could get any further everyone was joined @ ringside by MECW Heavyweight Champion: The “Unbreakable” Zach Thompson! Who surprisingly had this to say “Mr.K before you get any further I would like to introduce the MECW Family to some friends of mine. A couple of guys that are going to help me systematically take down XXXplicit Content! Tonight MECW Family these two men are going to make a statement! I give you Deliciously Smooth!”

Before Huge In Japan knew what was going on they were taken pillar to post by the newest MECW Tag Team and then Mr. K quickly announced that it was going to be the first ever Tag Team Triple Threat match! So not only was it Huge In Japan vs Deliciously Smooth, but know the Bayou Outlaws were also thrown in the mix!! So saying the deck was stacked against XXXplicit Content and more importantly Huge In Japan, is to say the least.

Making an impact Deliciously Smooth definitely did that as they walked away as the new MECW Tag Team Champions!! After hitting a devastating flapjack that drove Ricky Kwong’s chest first into the knees of AJ Smooth! Who after the match needed help to the back as he could not leave under his own power!! Deliciously Smooth then grabbed a mic and said 1 down 3 to go!

1.) MECW Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match:

WINNERS and NEW MECW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Deliciously Smooth

2.) Knight Wagner vs Brian Scrilla

Before this match could get under way Eric Allen had some unkind words for the MECW Family. He spoke about how this match was unfair and how nobody in MECW deserved to see him defend his belt! Eric Allen was quickly cut off by Knight Wagner and told him that Jordan McEntyre was not only gonna take his wannabe belt but that he was going to retire it! This quickly prompted Eric Allen to storm off, because he had bigger things to worry about.

Soon after Brian Scrilla came out the excitement started as him and Knight Wagner gave the MECW Family a match to appreciate and love! The action also started quickly too as neither man was wasting anytime. Scrilla quickly reversed a head lock into a shoulder tackle, hip toss, and body slam. Then quickly snapmared and shoulder tackled Knight once again, but only gaining a two count!

But Scrilla didn’t get upset he stayed on top of his game and took Knight Wagner head first into the turnbuckle. Then followed up with some punches, back elbow, and a knee to the gut! Scrilla wasn’t though he then Irish whiped Knight into the opposite corner. Delivered a devastating clothesline and a sidewalk slam! Still Knight Wagner intestinal fortitude pushed on and a kick out @ two!

Again Scrilla stayed on detail and delivered 3 consecutive elbow drops and went for the cover once again. Still only two! Knight Wagner pushed through and was able to start coming back with punches to the mid-section of Brian Scrilla and cut him back off with an axe-handle to the spine. Then Scrilla looked to wear down Knight Wagner with a cobra clutch sleeper and with Brian Scrilla grapevining the move it looked near impossible for Knight Wagner to escape! Then Wagner got his foot on the ropes, causing Brian Scrilla to break the hold.

With a head butt into the corner and Irish whip, Scrilla looked to be to be firmly in control. But with a missed elbow in the corner and a huge leg lariat by Knight Wagner!! Scrilla was down and Knight Wagner started to gain control and offense in the match!! Knight quickly followed up with a stomp to the chest, a quick running leg drop, and a cover, but only got the two counts! Frustration started to set in on Knight Wagner’s face as he quickly followed up with some cross face forearm shots and boot wash to the face to make sure he would stay in control. As Scrilla got up Knight delivered a well placed shot to the midsection of Brian Scrilla then followed up with some nice forearm shots. Wagner had Scrilla reeling, however not enough as Scrilla came out with some fists of his own sending Knight Wagner back. Before Scrilla could do any real damage, Knight kneed Scrilla in the midsection. Then took him back down with a snap mare, a stiff kick to the spine, and then quickly went for the cover, still only managing a two count, on Brian Scrilla.

This time Knight Wagner was looking to wear down Scrilla with a very effectively applied chin lock, nevertheless he couldn’t keep Scrilla down for long before he started fighting back with punches to the midsection of Wagner. Eventually fighting out, but fighting only long enough for Knight Wagner to put a well place knee in the kitchen sink (stomach) of Brian Scrilla. Again Knight Wagner quickly went for the cover, but still only managed a two count!! Knight quickly stayed on the case of Brian Scrilla and quickly threw punches sending Scrilla into the corner. Using an Irish whip, Knight charges Scrilla into the corner, but Scrilla body dropped Wagner over the top rope. Only for Knight to land on his feet on the apron and deliver a hard forearm smash. Knight quickly rose to the top and delivered a missile dropkick that absolutely leveled Brain Scrilla. Knight Wagner went for the cover and at this point it just had to be over, but Brian Scrilla kicked out before the three count!!

Knight stayed smart and applied a sitting abdominal stretch on Brian Scrilla, however Scrilla was able to fight off with shots to the stomach of Wagner then followed up with a head butt sending Knight Wagner off the ropes and connecting with a huge clothesline! Then Scrilla sending him off the ropes again and hitting him a huge back elbow! Scrilla then went for the Don-Bomb, but Knight Wagner was able to counter into a big time round house kick almost taking Scrillas head off. Scrilla was able to get his foot on the ropes before the three count. When Knight went to send off Scrilla he was able to reverse into a huge powers lam!! Knight then was able to kick out @ two!! This time it was Scrilla who was ready to call for the end as he set Knight Wagner up for the dreaded Hear Punch! But before Scrilla could connect with it Eric Allen made it to ring side, which was enough for the ref to call for the bell!

WINNERS A RESULT OF A DRAW: Brian Scrilla and Knight Wagner

Eric Allen didn’t make it too far as Jordan McEntyre was quick on the scene to stop Eric Allen and run him off!

3.) MECW Independent Champion: Gabriel Brimstone with Brian Scrilla vs Krotch

This MECW Family was an important match; it was the match to save the friendship of Gabriel Brimstone and Krotch. The problem was that Gabriel Brimstone hadn’t received an answer from Krotch on whether or not Krotch accepted his challenge to save their friendship and for the MECW Independent title!

Brian Scrilla got on the mic and reminded everyone including Krotch on why he and Gabriel Brimstone were out there.
It didn’t take long for them to get their answer from Krotch as he quickly made it to ring side with his answer. Krotch came out and not only accepted the challenge to save their friendship, but he went as far as telling Brimstone not to get upset when he takes his MECW Independent Championship, because he was concerned too about saving their friendship.

After the bell sounded Krotch had a few face to face words with Brimstone and they shook hands. Then they went right into a collar and elbow tie up. They fought into the corner a bit, but then the ref called for the break. Back into the collar, elbow tie up, and Brimstone again took Krotch into the corner, however this time they started dancing in the ropes. One trying to get the upper hand on the other, looking for position. After the break Krotch shoved Brimstone in frustration! This time in the third lockup, Krotch focused on the head and went right for the headlock. Then Krotch took Brimstone to the mat with a headlock take down.

Gabriel Brimstone quickly reversed into a head scissors, cranking on the neck of Krotch trying to get a submission. Krotch was great in ring presents and was able to reverse the hold on the defending champion back into a headlock. Brimstone was able to make it to his feet and deliver a nice forearm shot to the ribs and reverse into an arm wringer. Krotch didn’t get worried as he quickly reversed back into an arm wringer of his own on Gabriel Brimstone. Again Brimstone was able to take back control with another arm wringer reversal. This time Krotch was looking for the easy way out with a stiff punch to the face of Gabriel Brimstone! Brimstone didn’t punch back he simply shook his head and got in the face of Krotch. Krotch punched him again still nothing from Brimstone. Then Krotch shoved Brimstone and with some encouragement from Brian Scrilla. Gabriel Brimstone started firing back with some forearm shots of his own! Then picking up Krotch and driving him in the corner and hitting him with some shoulder chargers in the corner. The MECW Family quickly learned that Gabriel Brimstone was definitely the stronger of the two. Irish whip into the opposite corner by Brimstone followed up by a huge corner clothesline! Followed by a huge body slam and screaming from Scrilla to: COVER HIM! Which Brimstone quickly did but only gained a two count.

As Brimstone went for a arm bar Krotch reversed out of it into an Irish whip. Which was reversed by Brimstone into a side Russian Leg Sweep! Again Krotch kicked out @ two but Brimstone was still on him. Then Gabriel quickly followed up with a standing leg drop that still only got him two before Krotch got the shoulder off the mat. Krotch quickly recovered with a jaw breaker out of nowhere. Krotch was smart and stuck to a part and quickly started putting punches to the jaw of the MECW Independent champion. As the stinging blows came to the chin of Brimstone, he just started to become more angry and begun fighting back with more forearm shots, and back clubs to Krotch. Krotch was gonna win in a fist to cuffs with Gabriel Brimstone.

But as the ref was admonishing Gabriel Brimstone, as Brimstone turned back around to be leveled with a devastating leg lariat! Krotch didn’t go for a cover instead he just peppered Brimstone with more punches to the back of his head and back. As Brimstone started fighting back, Krotch was able to reverse an Irish whip into a European neck breaker. Brimstone kicked out @ two, but that didn’t stop Krotch. He kept his assault on with punching Brimstone and working him over in the corner. Krotch went as far as choking Brimstone in the ropes. Then he switched to stomping him in the corner till the ref had to pull him off. After an Irish whip into the corner Brimstone countered with a back elbow and a boot to the body of Krotch. Followed by a 2nd rope sunset flip which only got him a two count followed by a school boy which still only got him a two count.

Krotch put him back down with a kick to the head. Then Krotch went right back to peppering Gabriel Brimstone with punches to the head. Then again with stomps and kicks, then Krotch hit him with a dropkick to the spine. Still Krotch only garnered a two count. Getting more frustrated as time passed Krotch went back to choking Brimstone in the corner. Again Brimstone reversed and started delivering shots in the corner to the head of Krotch. Irish whip by Brimstone and an up and over reversal by Krotch. Followed up by a chin lock slam by Krotch with Brimstone kicking out @ two!!

With the help of Brian Scrilla coaching and screaming @ Brimstone, it helped him persevere through the match. At this point Krotch was becoming cocky “no pun intended Family” and started slapping Brimstone. This only angered the Demon from the darkest parts of the earth. Who started firing back with shots of his own, and reversed an Irish whip after a knee from Krotch and hit a text book back elbow. Followed by an exploding flying clothesline, and a back shattering Samoan drop. Krotch still manged to make it to his feet only to leveled by a spine adjusting spine buster!! Again Krotch kicked out @ two!! Now this time Brimstone was looking to finally end this match and started heading to the top rope. Krotch capitalized by shoving ref Waldo into the ropes and crutching Brimstone on the top rope. Then Krotch connected with a spine crushing running drop kick. But again Brimstone kicked out @ two!!

Now Krotch was ready to put Brimstone away with his finisher, The Krotch Rocket, however Brimstone reversed it by shoving him into the turnbuckle and going for a splash, but he missed and ran into a code breaker by Krotch. Just barely Gabriel Brimstone kicked out @ two!! Now Krotch was really upset and started pounding Gabriel Brimstone who couldn’t even cover up. Then after trading a few words with the ref, Krotch was ready to lay him down again with The Krotch Rocket. Again Brimstone reversed and hit Krotch with the DDT!! 1,2,3!! We have our winner!!

WINNER and STILL MECW INDEPENDENT CHAMPION: Gabriel Brimstone

But before they could shake hands or anything Krotch had stormed off backstage. Everything seemed to be ok as Brimstone got the victory.

4.)”Pride of Peoria” Championship on a Pole Match: Jordan McEntyre vs. “Pride of Peoria Champion” Eric Allen

This was a back and forth match up. Eric Allen from the opening bell tried to quickly climb the turnbuckles and get a hold of a key to go unlock the brief case! And every time Jordan McEntyre twarted his attempts every time.

Jordan took Eric Allen from pillar to post with a flurry of drop kicks, clotheslines, and back elbows. Eric Allen fought his way back with back suplexes, 2nd rope power bombs, and with Jordan reversing with a tope rope hurricanrana.

5.) MECW Great Plaines Trophy Champion: Ryan Slade vs Evan Money with Brian Scrilla

This match was gonna be tense from the start Brian Scrilla was out there with Evan Money and XXXplicit Content was out their with Ryan Slade. The match started out like any other classic match with both men trading skills in mat wrestling.

It quickly broke down into action as after a shoulder tackle Ryan Slade was tripped up by Evan Money. Evan was able to quickly capitalize with a standing leg drop. Then a corner clothesline with a kick to the back of a head. Where Evan was able to hit a 2nd rope bulldog, nevertheless Slade was able to kick out @ two. It didn’t take Slade long to resort to dirty tactics with an eye rake that put him back on top. Followed by knees to the mid-section and a stiff knee to the head of Money. That wasn’t enough as Ryan Slade began repeatedly clubbing Evan Money in the back. Then Slade began pummeling Evan Money’s chest with forearm shots, followed up with a snap mare chin lock, which was held in tightly with a knee in his back.

Once Evan started fighting back, Slade promptly threw him through the 2nd rope in which he then pretty much fed him to the wolves as Bailey Mannix began choking the life out fo Evan Money. Of course, it was done behind the back of special guest ref: Marshall Garrett. When Slade went to suplex Money back to the inside, he was able to reverse and plant a very stiff roundhouse kick to the temple of Ryan Slade. Followed by a spring board cross body block. This gave Evan Money a two count only. Slade quickly returned with a eye rake and a forearm to the face of Evan Money. Followed by a double axe handle to the base of his neck. Slade then followed up with what seemed like a camel clutch submission and turned it into a fish hook maneuver making Marshal Garrett quickly call for the break.

With Slade attempting another suplex, Evan was able to counter into a small package to get a two almost a three count.
Even followed up with swift kicks to the ribs, followed by one to the head of Ryan Slade. “Canadian sex icon” reversed an Irish whip into a side Russian leg sweep; followed up by a suplex that Ryan Slade finally connected with but only got a two count off of it. He quickly locked in a chin lock trying to wear down Evan Money. As Evan fought out Ryan Slade and slammed him back to the mat and put a couple of grinding stomps to the stomach for Evan Money before locking him in the sharpshooter submission. With a little help from Brian Scrilla he made it to the ropes. In which Evan followed up with an O’Connor roll and a spinning wheel kick, still it wasn’t enough. Again Ryan Slade quickly reversed and locked in the cross face crippler.

Once again Evan Money made it back to the ropes and Ryan Slade was forced to release the hold. Now Slade was looking to end the match after hitting the body slam. While climbing to the top rope he was stopped by Evan and hit with a huge power slam driver, however it was still not enough for a two count. In one last desperation move Slade tried to end the match with a Rick Rude style neck breaker. Evan Money breaking free from a two count and now out of control and in a of rage leveled Evan Money with the Great Plaines Trophy and getting DQ by Marshall Garrett.

WINNER VIA DQ: Evan Money

After the match XXXplicit Content was finished as they leveled Marshall Garrett and Brian Scrilla. Then continued their assault on Evan Money, before Gabriel Brimstone tried to make the save and they ganged up on him. Before all hope was lost Krotch came running ringside with a chair in hand and ran off XXXplicit Content. After XXXplicit Content left back stage and Marshall Garrett and Brian Scrilla were helping Evan Money. Krotch LEVELED GABRIEL BRIMSTONE IN THE HEAD WITH A CHAIR!!

3XWrestling Set To Crown First King of Des Moines
Iowa’s Top Wrestling Company Presents One Night Tournament

DES MOINES, Iowa – Hot off the heels of its Four Year Anniversary Event – which saw a standing-room only crowd of hundreds of fans pack the Des Moines Social Club – 3XWrestling (3XW) is gearing up to hold the biggest tournament in company history.

3XW’s first ever King of Des Moines tournament is scheduled to once again excite area wrestling fans at the Des Moines Social Club on August 21. This spectacular tournament features 11 top competitors doing battle in a unique three-round, one-night tournament format, with the winner being named the first “King of Des Moines” at the end of the night.

What makes this tournament unique in pro wrestling circles is that two of 3XW‘s championships will actually be defended in first round action. 3XW Cruiserweight champion “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell, now in his 13th-month as titleholder, defends the championship against the demanding challenge of “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade. The 3XW Tag Team titles will also be defended as champions The Gentleman’s Club, Gage Octane and Mark Sterling, face mega-popular risk takers Mike Sydal and “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson, collectively known as the High Flyers.

3XW‘s other top titles will also be defended in non-tournament action. “Delicious” Devin Carter defends the 3XW Heavyweight championship against the phenomenal Jeremy Wyatt, the 2008 MissouriWrestlingRevival.com “Wrestler of the Year,” in a much-anticipated main event bout. Tyler Cook also looks to retain the 3XW Pure Wrestling championship against the devastating offensive attack of Kraig Keesaman, who hasn’t tasted defeat since August 2008, in what should be an outstanding technical wrestling bout.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. start time. The Des Moines Social Club is located at 1408 Locust St. in Des Moines.

Wrestling fans can watch the latest episode of 3XW Outside the Ring at www.3XWrestling.com for more details on this spectacular event, including interviews with many of the competitors.

Looking ahead to the future, former WWE and MTV star Al Snow will compete as part of 3XW’s Sept. 18 event. More details to come about this huge addition to 3XW in a future release.

Founded in 2005, 3XWrestling, a Des Moines-based organization, has performed in front of thousands of fans across Iowa and been featured on Iowa Public Radio and in publications including Juice and Cityview. 3XW events are held monthly in Des Moines.

3XW and its performers are also heavily involved with charity work – a recent 3XW benefit event in Ottumwa, Iowa featuring one-legged wrestling star Zach Gowen raised over $10,000 to help the family of a young man whose leg was amputated due to his battle with cancer. All proceeds from the event we’re given to the family to offset medical costs, with every wrestler performing on a volunteer basis.

The Golden Circle “A Moment” By Greg Anthony

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 14, 2009

Straight from rasslinriotonline.com

I think all wrestlers have a story that really shows how much wrestling means to them. A moment in their lives that they can pinpoint and explain how they emotional connected with wrestling. A son that the only way to bond with his father was by watching wrestling together. Someone new that moved into the neighborhood and found his first friend because they had the same favorite wrestler. The stories I’m sure are endless.

I’ve talked a few times about how much my grandmother has meant to me as a wrestler. It was her passion for it that drew me to it as a young “golden” boy. Ironic that my favorite wrestler or all time, Ric Flair, was her most hated back then. I wonder what my life would be like today if it wouldn’t have been for her fandemonium. I wouldn’t have the friends I have today, which in turn means I wouldn’t have met my wife which means no second generation wrestlers to debut at a later date. But this isn’t my moment.

Since I’ve lived on my own, I’ve had a wrestling room. A room in my house or apartment ,at first, that has been dedicated to my wrestling memorabilia. Its kind of taken on a life of its own, alot of the boys hear me or friends talk about it. So when they get a chance to come to town, they almost always want to see what all I have. The process usually involves them saying “Oh, man I had that when I was a kid” or “That is freaking awesome”. However most haven’t seen my most prized possession. When my grandmother was a kid and watched wrestling in its golden age she kept a little black book were she written down results. This little black book that is close to fifty years old means more to me than anything else in the wrestling room because it holds more sentimental value above all else. But this still isn’t my moment.

My friends growing up in school didn’t really get into wrestling like I did. But for one year, one glorious year with all the stars in perfect position it became cool to like wrestling. With the NWO, ECW and The Attitude Era it was a marvelous time to be a wrestling fan. We didn’t stop with just the major three but we found a local wrestling promotion right here in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Warriors of Wrestling Federation or affectionately WOWF and became a weekly ritual for us. We loved the bad guys and baddest bad guys at WOWF were The Missouri Bad Boys.

We talked all week about going to wrestling that weekend and even took time to make our own homemade Missouri Bad Boys tshirts. That afternoon before the show my mother told me that I couldn’t go because we were broke. I was raised by a single mom and it broke her heart to have to tell me. We didn’t have $5. I was crushed! I told my mother it was ok and I understood. I called my grandmother and asked if I could borrow $5 dollars so I could go to wrestling and she of course said ok and told me to come get the money. When I arrived my grandfather handed me a $5 bill and I just bursted into tears. I guess it was pride or something. It just meant so much to me to go, not for my friends but for myself. My grandparents consoled me and ended up giving me $40 so I could go to wrestling as much as I wanted. When I got back in the car that when I realized how much wrestling meant to me, that was my moment. I realized it wasn’t JUST wrestling, it was WRESTLING and its been WRESTLING ever since.

Neil “Diamond” Cutter is a One of a kind.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 13, 2009

By Brian “Flair” Kelley

Today there are many high profile second and third generation superstars dominating the wrestling landscape. Cowboy Bob Orton’s son WWE World Champion Randy Orton is at the top of the list along with Ted Dibiase’s son Ted JR who is a tag team partner of former NWA World Champion Dusty Rhodes youngest son Cody form the team known as “The Legacy”. The Midwest also has there eyes on Curt Hening’s son Joe and his daughter Amy as they have got their start in the area with Wrestling Legend Harley Race.

Families and wrestling have a special bond throughout the history of the sport. Throughout the years fans have watched in excitement as the families of the Von Erich’s, The Harts, The Guerrero’s and The Funk’s have brought tears of joy, sadness and at times hatred in the eyes of the special fraternity called “fans”.

This leads us to the Cutters, Devin and Mason Cutter. Two Brothers that have been in the thorn of Midwest wrestlers who have faced them just as days long gone by, when the brothers Frank and Jesse James terrorized the government who they felt had gave them no choice but to fight back. The James Gang were known as outlaws whereas the Cutlers are known as The Hooligans.

The Hooligans (Photo By Brian "Flair" Kelley)

The Hooligans (Photo By Brian "Flair" Kelley)

What is a Hooligan you ask? I caught up with Devin and Mason and Mason gave me a thorough explanation “We are known as The Hooligans, we represent a society called Skinheads. That does not mean we are racists because we are not. We proudly come from the working class where you take pride in hard work. Skinhead means that we stand up against a government that is slowly taking apart a society that once belonged to the working class. We will strap on our boots and march with our fellow working men and stomp out these fascists governments. In the end we will finally give the power back to the people the way it was meant to be.” he continued to say “United we stand in this movement, united we will stomp the oppressors out. We are not a gang, just brothers black and white we stand and fight, we fly no colors, our torn up knuckles and faded blue jeans are the colors we wear. We don’t need no gang to watch our ass just loyal friends from the working class. Arm and arm we fight as one. We should be labeled as the men and women that have built this society from scratch. We should be known simply as WORKING CLASS HEROES!!

Midwest fans have been watching The Hooligans join together as family going to war with Ian Rotten at IWA. What one may have missed is that there is a third Cutter.

The black sheep of the family - Neil Diamond Cutter(Photo Credit Brian "Flair" Kelley)

The black sheep of the family - Neil Diamond Cutter(Photo Credit Brian "Flair" Kelley)

His name is Neil “Diamond” Cutter, one would say he is a little on the strange side. While the Devin and Mason were planning and plotting on how to take a stand against the oppression in this politically correct world, “Lil” Cutter was in the back room listening to Neil Diamond classics, “Sweet Caroline” and “Kentucky Women” blaring much to the disdain of the Cutter family.

Mason Cutter confirmed this with displeasure in his voice. Neil would always be listening to those damn Neil Diamond cds all night. It drives us crazy. Mason Cutter

I was able to catch up with Neil at a recent Independent  Hardcore Wrestling show in Dupo, Illinois to get his thoughts on his brothers and there upcoming match in the semi title tournament match for the High Voltage Wrestling tag team titles to question weather he would be in the house to support his brothers all he could talk about was the BIG NEWS!!

Neil Diamond had his first ever online store!!?? Yes, now he can buy all his Diamond merchandise at one spot. The little Cutler was quite pleased with himself as he explained to me that “You can get all your Neil Diamond merchandise From the Neil Diamond messenger bag to the Brand new Neil Diamond album The Home Before Dark Deluxe Edition CD which features two BONUS tracks and a second DVD disc with up close and personal footage of the new music. Neil proudly stated “Brian, Don’t Buy it anywhere but from the online store because there you can get the free Neil Diamond Poster!”

With great advice from Neil withstanding, one can not discount the talent of the runt of the family. Fearlessness and toughness have never been in question from Neil, he showed that this April at IWA’S Bloodshowers part one when he assisted his brothers to get the win against the hardcore brothers known as Bad Breed, Ian and Axl Rotten in a Barbed Wire- match.

Neil’s single’s debut at IWA was against up and comer Juice Robinson. Neil must have stayed up late jamming to Neil’s classic “Walk on water” because no matter what he did he crashed and burned with the young pretty boy taking home the win, while his brothers Devin and Mason looked back in disgust.

”I don’t understand Neil Diamond music and even less as to why Neil loves it so damn much.” Devon Cutter

Wrestlers should not let Neil’s odd behavior or his size fool them. He is one of the most fearless wrestlers in the Midwest today. Going into the match with the youngest and smallest Cutler looks to be a cakewalk. When the bell rings he has the ability to use his body like a missile hitting you from every direction. When Neil goes to the top rope and comes down on you with such great height the downward momentum feels like he hit you with a sledgehammer.

Ian Rotten stood up for the lil Cutter at the show , “Truth Justice, and the IWA way” when he stated firmly “Neil has a bigger pair of balls than both of the Hooligans combined!”

Watch out for Neil’s Bombs Away”. While his opponent is down on their hands and knees thinking that it is safe , Neil runs onto their back and jumps straight up to delivers a pain full senton bomb. Explosive and deadly, Neil is always looking to hit one of the many versions of his Diamond Cutter for the win which he calls D.N.D (Dedication to Neil Diamond).

Neil may not be a household name today but this journalist has been around the MWR coverage area scouting talent and he is what you would call a sleeper. A poor mans Evan Bourne, Neil has some of the raw skills that the WWE’S Bourne possesses. Neil shocked the Midwest when he was able to get the biggest win in his short career this past May at IWA Mid-South when he defeated one of the top 5 stars in the Midwest Mark Sterling by delivering the patented D.N.D. Just a small glimpse of what the little guy can do.

In a world where big men rule the ring Neil’s breathtaking moves have the chance to steal the show and the spotlight at any event. Even from his big brothers who look down on him as he tries to show them that he is worthy of the Cutter name.

I will leave you with a request from Neil “Diamond” Cutter himself. MWR fans (I never thought I would be saying this) I give you Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline…..
