PWP Tag Team Champions Abu Colossus & Hype Gotti Challenges Anyone that Dares to Step Up

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 14, 2014

 photo 2_zps60749d31.jpg

MWR owner Brian Kelley was at ringside in Council Bluffs, Iowa this past week for the exciting Pro Wrestling Phoenix show. After a clash of two of the best tag teams in the Midwest, the PWP Tag Team Champions Abu Colossus &Hype Gotti picking up a huge victory against the former MWR Tag Team of the Year the American Bulldogs (Mark McDowell and Jon West), Abu got on the mic to let the PWP fans and MWR know that they challenging any of the top tag teams in the country to try to step up and take their titles.

Tag Team wrestling is red hot in 2014 as the 2013 MWR Tag Team of the Year, the Hooligans has just came off a huge win at Proving Ground Pro Wrestling against Zero Gravity in a dog collar match. The WLW Tag Team Champions the Black Hand Warriors added the Dynamo Pro Wrestling belts to their collection after defeating the Bumrush Brothers. Across the way at 3XWrestling the longtime team of Ryan Slade and AJ Smooth has been shown no signs of slowing down.

So will any of these teams step up to battle the PWP Champions or will there be a duo like High Level Enterprise or the Travis Cook Organization look to make an impact in the state of Iowa when PWP returns on April 12th at the National Guard Armory ?

Pro Wrestling Phoenix May 24 – 8 Year anniversary show- Matty Star vs. Ryan Slade

Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 21, 2013

 photo MAY13JPEG_zps1fde55af.jpg

On Friday night May 24th – Pro Wrestling Phoenix celebrates 8 years of bringing you the best wrestling available! Here is what you will see on that fateful night!

*** The MAIN EVENT will be MATTY STAR defending the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship against “SIMPLY RAVISHING” RYAN SLADE! These two have been in an all time classic PWP rivalry, which was never resolved. Along with that, Slade never received a rematch after losing the title last year, so the decision has been made to bring these two head to head once again, with the title on the line! Be there to see what is sure to be an incredible main event!!!

*** At our last event, a challenge was laid down for an I QUIT match between SEAN CRUZ and PRESTON MAXWELL, not only was the challenge accepted, but the stakes were raised! On May 24th, both men’s careers are on the line, as the one who says I QUIT won’t just be quitting the match, but will be quitting wrestling altogether! We will see which man’s career will go on, and which will end!!!

*** “Cheap & Dirty” member BRANDEN JUAREZ will go one on one with a man making his return to PWP after a two year absence…….“THE ANARCHIST” ARIK CANNON! This encounter is absolutely certain to be a classic!!!

*** NEW PWP Tag Team Champions will be crowned, in an Elimination style Triple Threat Tag Team match! It will Be “THE AMERICAN BULLDOGS” JON WEST & MAD DOG McDOWELL vs Cheap & Dirty’s “TEAM LARIAT” SHAWN NAUTILUS & “JOE-DOZER” JOEY ANDERSON vs a PWP Legends team of ABU COLOSSUS & HYPE GOTTI! The last team standing will take home the vacant PWP Tag Team Titles!!!

*** “THE OMAHA CHAINSAW” SM KING will square off against LESLIE RAY! Ray has been undefeated in PWP since returning last year, however King has been on a very impressive role as of late as well. Both men need a win here, but only one can be victorious!!!

*** DEREK CORNELL will do battle with “SHOWTIME” BRADLEY CHARLES! SBC is a former PWP Heavyweight Champion, and does hold a guaranteed shot at the PWP Title at a future date, however he must deal with Derek Cornell first! Cornell has now established himself as a top singles star, and is without question on the rise in PWP! This should be a fantastic matchup between two of PWP’s best wrestlers!!!

*** PWP newcomer Merlin Dean Banks will square off against the mighty Michael Monsoon, however Monsoon says he is on a very different path than the last time we saw him, and that he has created a program that will take him to the top, a program called……Yokozumba? Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIJhPbEDZeU

*** One half of the “Heroes for Hire” JIMMY ROCKWELL will take on one of the most popular members of the PWP roster, DARREN “THUNDER” RUSSELL! Russell will have to be ready for the underhanded tactics that the self proclaimed “hero” is sure to bring to the battle!!!

*** In 3 Way Dance action – JOEY DANIELS w/ “MANAGER SUPREME” AXEL GREECE will take on Cheap & Dirty member “THE PASSION” ZAC JAMES and the returning DARIN CORBIN! All three of these men are former PWP Tag Team Champions, with a lot to gain by picking up a victory here. Joey may have the biggest advantage, having Greece at ringside, Corbin is sure to have the most fan support, and Zac has an amazing undefeated record at PWP’s Anniversary events. This should be an awesome matchup, that could go the way of any of these three competitors!!!

Don’t miss what is sure to be an epic night, as we celebrate 8 years of PWP!!!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix returns on Friday night March 29th with YEAR OF THE PHOENIX VIII!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 15, 2013

 photo 486544_527328387309907_731659176_n_zpsba7a4344.jpg

The primary focus on that evening will be crowning a brand new PWP Heavyweight Champion!

We will have 4 qualifying matches, which will be:

* Branden Juarez vs. Abu Colossus
* Shawn Nautilus vs. Derek Cornell
* Hype Gotti vs. SM King
* Preston Maxwell vs. Matty Star

The winners of those matches will advance to a main event Elimination 4 Way, and the last man standing will take home the vacant PWP Heavyweight Championship!

Also, one of the biggest rivalries in PWP last year was between Darren ”Thunder” Russell and Vic Victory, that rivalry has yet to be resolved. The issue also extended to include ”Cheap & Dirty” member Zac James, as an apparent ally of Victory’s – as well as Chris Havius backing up his good friend Russell. At our last event, Victory (with a huge assist from Zac James) defeated Russell, even with Havius serving as special referee for the match. After the match, Victory & James left both Russell & Havius laying. Since then, we have tried to reach out to Vic Victory, but have not been able to get a single word out of him. Russell has made it clear that he intends to take care of unfinished business, and so, we have signed an official match for Year of the Phoenix VIII – Darren ”Thunder” Russell go one on one with ”The Passion” Zac James. Will Vic Victory show up? What role, if any, will Chris Havius play? Be there to find out!

All this and much more!

The venue features a full bar, including $1 Bud Light draws!!

16) Chris Havius and Donnie Peppercricket

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 3, 2011

When the chips are down and bleak you find out who the real men are.

That’s what happens when the promotion Pro Wrestling Phoenix found themselves under siege from the Murder Milita. With no hope in sight and Miltia’s Jerem y Wyatt, Mark Sterling, Joey Daniels, Jayden Draigo and Brett Young in charge, an unlikely team would save the PWP from true disaster.  Chris Havius and Donnie  Peppercricket would not only dismantle the Murder Militia and   not once but twice but become a two time PWP Tag team champions before dissension arose tearing apart their team.

Is “Mean” Mason Beck the BIGGEST and most feared Wrestler in the Midwest today?

Posted by flairwhoooooo on April 8, 2011

Photobucket

You may laugh at the fear in that kids eyes in the back but I have seen the same look ringside for some of Becks victims in the ring.

MWR fans throughout the three plus years that MWR has been in existence, there has been many who feel that wrestling’s nastiest wrestler has been “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt, there is very few that would argue that the hardest working wrestling is none other than Mark Sterling but what about the biggest and most feared wrestler today?

While no wrestler in the Midwest is more loved than the Mississippi Madman, he brings to the ring a softer side during his matches. In the past the name that was mentioned for feared was “The Future” Donovan Ruddick who currently resides in WWE’S developmental system with FCW under his new moniker DT Porter.

Ruddick standing at 6”9 was a machine that the fans in ST Louis loved to see weather or not he was in a good mood or heaven forbid the man was on a war path destroying opponents on a weekly basis.

With Ruddick’s absence who do we believe is heir to his throne of the Biggest and most feared wrestler in the wrestler in the Midwest?

At the top of any list one would have to say that is “Mean” Mason Beck. Beck a powerful man in the old of Ruddick towers over the competition. What makes Beck a front runner for this title is the fact of how much speed and stamina the man possess.

We have seen recently Mason Beck bully his way around the Midwest with power moves and wrestling combined.

Beck is a former partner of Ruddick as last year the two teamed up with manager MR Late Nite to beat the Madman and his partner former WWE STAR U-Gene at Pro Wrestling Epic ; the two looked to take over the Midwest before Ruddick’s signing of WWE.

While many wrestlers in the Midwest would like to see Beck get signed and move to Florida along with Ruddick, MWR Fans we highly recommend that you get to a show near you to see Mason Beck in action soon before that happens.

Let us look at a video package of why he is MWRS pick for Biggest and most feared wrestler today

Just a few weeks ago we were in Springfield Illinois for New Midwest Wrestling where Mason Beck took on fellow rising superstar Nick Brubaker in a phenomenal match. Brubaker by no means is a push over and went toe to toe with the big man but it was breathtaking at times seeing the power of Beck being demonstrated at times during the match on Brubaker.

Yet MWR may be wrong fans who else could be the man that puts fear in the Wrestlers heart?

In alphabetical order

Alexander Rudolph

Photobucket

Young and wild is words that come to mind for this Metro Pro Wrestling and NWA Dynamo star. Rudolph has been recently been seen around the Midwest more frequent the first part of the 2011 causing alarm for many young wrestlers. Led by manager Sadie Blaze winning has not seemed to be the objective as much as hurting people.

Brian Ash

Photobucket

Ash the current 3XWrestling Champion is intimating to say the least. He brings to the ring a ring presence of power and respect. He is the main reason that Genesis has had the edge over the fan favorites at 3XWrestling

Bull Schmitt
Photobucket

Schmitt is a former WLW Champion who knows how to wrestle but would rather cause trouble and hurt people like MPW Champion Derek Stone along with good friend Trevor Murdock. While Schmitt may seem fun lovin as he heads to the ring it is his roughneck ways in the ring that has his opponents running for cover.

The Dixieland Destroyer

Photobucket

Unpredictable and dangerous is what many have to say about the DixieLand Destroyer. You never know what you will get from the masked man. At times has shown a friendly side but when the bell rings he pushes his weight around in a ferocious manner. Referees and Security’s worse nightmare you never know if he truly understands the rules of the match.

Preston Maxwell

Photobucket

Maxwell was just a name on a card in the past at Pro Wrestling Phoenix but when he targeted the Big Hurt Abu Colossus last summer in a brutal feud he put the wrestling world in notice that he would no longer be forgotten. After winning the first stage of his feud he is now the PWP Champion with Abu once again knocking on his door.

Ron Powers

Photobucket

Powers has been feared for many years and age has not slowed down this monster. It looked as if time had soften the big man as he was cheered in 2010m but after feeling slighted with the love that CWC Champion Danny Boy Hawkins was receiving he went postal. MMWA-SICW promoter Herb Simmons has had to employ extra security to contain the rage of Powers during the shows in East Carondelet. Powers would win the CWC title this past March from Danny Boy with no looks of slowing down anytime soon.
