The October 2009 edition of 3XWrestling’s acclaimed web show catches up wrestling fans on all the news following the successful Clobberpalooza Classic II event in September and builds toward October’s Halloween Horror III event.

Featuring promos and interviews with 3XW Heavyweight champion “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt, The Gentlemen’s Club, The Horndogs, “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell, 3XW Tag Team champions The High Flyers, “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong and Rory Fox.

Other footage includes Al Snow in 3XW, Rory Fox’s remarkable debut victory, Kwong turning on “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson, Casanova joining the Gentlemen’s Club, and the High Flyers defending the tag team titles over Sheik Abdul Bashir and Arya Daivari.

That’s not all!!! 3XWrestling sent us some Chaotic six-man tag team action as 3XW Tag Team champions The Gentlemen’s Club (Gage Octane and Mark Sterling with Todd Countryman) team with 3XW Pure Wrestling champion “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt to take on the awesome challenge of powerhouse Maddog McDowell, heartthrob Tyler Cook and 3XW Cruiserweight champion “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell.

The Golden Circle: Broaden Your Horizons

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 9, 2009

By Greg Anthony

Straight from rasslinriotonline.com

Can anyone guess who my favorite Batman villian is? Anybody, anybody? My all time favorite Batman villian is Mr. Freeze. The greatest Batman villian of all time is…. well… The Joker. Do you know what other Batman villian is pretty high on my list? The Clock King! Thats right The Clock King. I also like The Mad Hatter and Clayface. So what does any of this have to do with professional wrestling. Its really me just trying to make a point. The point is that wrestling should have something for everyone.

Now its no secret that my favorite wrestler of all time is “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. A choice that would be in line with The Joker being favorite Batman villian. One of friend’s little brother isn’t a wrestling fan anymore but when he was, his favorite wrestler was Bam Bam Bigelow. Now who accomplished more in their career? I think it would be safe to say Flair but that didn’t stop an 8 year old boy from jumping off couches to do a flying head butt every 3 minutes.

My parents are divorced and when my mother remarried, her husband liked watching wrestling with me. Now when I was a kid I hated all the bad guys and loved all the good guys and my step dad usually cheered the opponnet of whomever I was rooting for. He liked Flair and The Four Horsemen but I only saw him hold up the four fingers a handful of times but there was a time when he patted himself on the back ala Barry Horowitz on a daily basis.

Wrestling should be as diverse in the world we live in. Too many cookie cutter wrestlers out there right now. I miss Bam Bam, Horowitz, Al Snow w/Head, Yokozuna, Haystacks Calhoun and a host of others that didn’t resemble Ric Flair but contributed so much to our business. Mr.Freeze may have not broken any box office records like The Joker but I’ld go out of my way to see him. . Diversity can only broaden the horizon of its art and I promise the same rings true in wresting and when “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony makes a promise its as good as gold.

—-Greg Anthony is a regular on the local area circuit. He won RRO Booker of the Year 2008 and is listed in the top 5 of the RRO Top 10 2008. Greg is currently working as booker of NEW and can be seen tagging with legend Bobby Eaton and Brian Thompson as “Midnight Gold”.

Look for more of The Golden Circle with Greg Anthony at MWR in the future.

Matt Murphy- Welcome to Wrestling

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 5, 2009

securedownload

1. Welcome to Wrestling

As a former instructor at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy, I could write an entire book about some of the goofy things I’ve seen and heard from aspiring wrestlers. From being asked, “How long do you have to train before you get to WWE?” to seeing a 110-pound kid sit up like the Undertaker after each bump, I’ve realized that this industry attracts its share of goofs.

Don’t be that guy.

For those who dream of becoming a wrestler, the first step is to ask yourself, Why? Is it because you were a dork in high school and you want to be the darling of your class reunion? If so, then this probably isn’t the business for you. Not too many dorks successfully overcome that stigma by wearing spandex. Is it because you watch it on TV, subscribe to a newsletter, and can name every Ring of Honor World Champion in the title’s history? A lot of people are like that: they’re called “fans.” I love St. Louis Cardinals baseball, but I know that I best benefit the team I love by watching their games on TV, buying a ticket to attend a game on occasion, and wearing their apparel as often as is acceptable for a grown man. A lot of wrestling hopefuls also belong in the cheap seats.

Next, look into a mirror and ask, Is there anybody making a living in the business that looks like me? If your answer is Don West (the TNA color commentator), then maybe you should consider another end of the business to enter. Most of the people who try out for wrestling don’t look anything like a wrestler, or even like an athlete for that matter. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the “Athletic Background” section of the tryout application left blank.

Now evaluate the kind of shape you’re in and be honest. Wrestling is a physical sport that requires excellent conditioning. You don’t have to look like a bodybuilder to have a chance at stardom, but you do need to look like an athlete in very good shape. If you’re not in shape when you enter a wrestling school then you’ll lose a lot of valuable training time to conditioning while holding up the rest of the class.

There are exceptions to the rules. Fellow Harley Race Academy graduate Trevor Murdoch was one of them. Like me, he worked harder avoiding a gym than he would’ve worked lifting, but he worked his ass off inside the ring. Mick Foley looks like a truck driver, but he became a much bigger star in the business than anybody would have expected. Those are very, very rare occurrences. Don’t bank on being the next exception.

Don’t get me wrong. If you’re a 165-pound man with a beer belly and a checking account, there are still con men out there who will train you. If you have money, somebody will make time for you. But I don’t know anybody willing to do that who knows enough to give you the tools to have a chance in this business. Every day, a new fool latches on to the dream of wrestling stardom who looks for the cheapest wrestling school he can find. If I need to explain why this is a terrible way to pursue your dream, please stop reading now. There’s nothing I can write that can save a lost cause. Go get trained at Jacob Jabroni’s Discount Wrestling University, get your wrestling license, and book a “How Do You Like Me Now” show in your hometown so you can move on with your life.

Before jumping into this business with both feet, evaluate your financial situation. I love the business, you might say, but I can’t get enough money saved to begin training. If you love this business and want to be a part of it, then get a job, or a second job, or change your spending habits. Nobody gets a free ride. If you can’t show your dedication to this business by preparing yourself financially, then you don’t have a chance. Is it all about money? Well, it’s a business and people have to eat. Your instructor won’t call his electric company and say, “I can’t pay my bill because there’s a new kid I’m training who doesn’t have any money. He’s a good kid, though.”

If you’ve been honest with yourself and still think you have a chance at becoming a star in the business, start looking for a wrestling school. A good rule of thumb is if you have never heard of the guy running the school or of any of his students, don’t go there. If there is no tryout and the only requirement is money, stay away from that one, too.

Just a few days before I began training at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy, an independent wrestler approached me and tried selling me on his school. “How much is Harley charging you?” he asked me.

“Three thousand,” I told him.

The guy whistled and said, “Why pay three grand to be trained by Harley Race when you can be trained by me and my partner for half that?”

Even as young as naive as I was, I knew that it didn’t add up: I’d never heard of him or his partner. I chose to pass on his half-priced, half-assed training offer and recommend you do the same.

There are a handful of guys who have credibility and connections in this business. Maybe the two most important things to consider when making your wrestling-school choice are credibility and connections.

You’ve made a wise decision and selected a credible wrestling school. Now it’s time for the tryout. This will usually consist of cardiovascular exercise and in-ring evaluation (likely just bumps and running the ropes, so resist the urge to offer to show the instructor the badass finishing move you’ve been practicing on your pillow) and, at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy, costs $50. That’s a small investment in your dream.

First things first, don’t act like a tool. Be courteous and don’t act like a fan who won a backstage pass to a WWE show. Don’t ask wrestlers if they use blood capsules (they don’t), brag about your backyard heroics, talk about how many fights you’ve won, or act like you know any more about the business than the average fan. As a trainer, few things were as annoying as listening to the tryout talk about who he thought had the best workrate. Don’t do anything unless you’re instructed and don’t speak unless spoken to. It sounds harsh, but you don’t want to piss off the trainers before you even begin training, especially when they are the ones who decide just how far to push you during your tryout.

As a general rule, I knew almost every person trying out would reach that point where he didn’t think he could push himself any more. What I looked for was how much heart he showed when he reached that point.

Here is a tale of two tryouts. One kid was about 6’2” and 115 pounds and had no athletic ability at all. It didn’t take long for him to reach his breaking point, but I’ll be damned if he didn’t struggle to his feet—the poor guy looked like a baby giraffe trying to stand for the first time—each time he fell. I couldn’t pass him on the tryout because I didn’t think it would be fair to take his money when I knew he would never make it through training, but I admired his courage and would have passed him if I thought he had a chance in hell. Another tryout that day was a bodybuilder and former collegiate football player. Ten minutes into his tryout, he stumbled over to his duffel bag and said, “Sorry, guys, I just can’t do it.” On the street, he would have looked down at the baby giraffe kid, but inside the wrestling school that day, the skinny kid owned him.

Unlike most athletes, I was a cigarette smoker from my early teens to just a few months ago. I quickly figured that out the key to surviving cardiovascular exercise (and later on, long matches) was to control my breathing. Here’s how I learned: when I did jumping jacks, I inhaled slowly through four jumping jacks and exhaled slowly through four of them, then repeated. I did the same with crunches, squats, and just about every other exercise. Within a week, I trained my body to control its own breathing without requiring any conscious thought and went from flat on the floor after ten minutes of cardio to making it the entire way through conditioning with little problem. It happened almost instantly.

If you have to vomit, do it in the appropriate place and then wash your mouth out and get back in line for cardio. It lets the trainers know that you’re serious about training. A trainer’s job in the tryout process is to weed out those who don’t have the heart, the ability, or the respect for the business.

Remember that by trying out, you are not only auditioning for a spot in a professional wrestling school, but you are trying to convince the trainer that you’re worth the risk of his credibility. He knows that if you’re likely to quit after three weeks and then market yourself as one of his students, the next guy who comes along with the trainer’s name attached to him will suffer.

Once you’ve made it through your cardiovascular part of the tryout, it’s time to step into the ring. Let me stress one point: if you are instructed to take a German suplex, power bomb, backdrop, etc., from somebody during your tryout, thank everybody for their time and leave. I’m dead serious. Wrestling is a dangerous profession, and any trainer who has no regard for your safety is not somebody you want to trust with your physical well-being. One bad bump can cripple, even kill.

The only bumps you should take during a tryout are back bumps and, depending on how you do with back bumps, maybe some front bumps (front flips to your back).

You may receive a brief introduction to hitting the ropes and locking up with an opponent, perhaps even learn a few holds. That should be about all you do during your tryout.

Now you’ve completed the tryout and it’s time to have a sit-down with the trainer to discuss what’s next. He’s going to want to know what your schedule looks like (when you can train), whether you’ll commute or relocate, and if you can pay in full or if payment arrangements will need to be made. I know I already said this, but please believe that this is a business and nobody is going to train you out of the goodness of his heart—I won’t. Training you requires an enormous time commitment, and I won’t spend a minute away from my family if I’m not getting paid for it. There is also building rent, equipment maintenance, insurance, etc., to consider. I’ve seen a lot of people dive into training with an empty wallet, and they don’t last long.

You’ve passed the tryout, made a down payment, and enrolled into a professional wrestling school. Great job! Now pat yourself on the back and tighten the laces on your gym shoes, because you’re in for one hell of a ride!

NEXT WEEK: Chapter 2: Training

High Voltage Wrestling returns this weekend!!!!!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 4, 2009

3 High Voltage Wrestling October 10th

By Brian “Flair” Kelley

High Voltage Wrestling returns on Oct. 10 with “Encore” in Granite City, IL to celebrate their one year anniversary. HVW will be giving back to the community by donating $2.00 from each ticket sold to the American Diabetes Association. ADA is hoping to invite a family to enjoy exciting wrestling action as well to receive the check from the proceeds of this event. ADA is a cause that TNT Keny G feels strongly about supporting because he fights with the disease himself every day. Also in attendance will be the wonderful people at The Fan Shop. The Fan Shop will be giving 20% of all sales at the show towards the fundraiser.

For only $10.00 you can watch the most exciting wrestling action in the Midwest and help a good cause as well.

HVW Poster oct 10

The main event could very well be THE must see of the year. HVW Champion Kahagas will once again go one on one against Dingo, this time with the title on the line.

These two warriors went blow for blow this past January with the ultra talented Dingo getting bragging rights in his hometown. As one of the most booked wrestlers in the Midwest, Dingo dominated as he reigned throughout the year as the IWA-Midsouth Champion and NWA Missouri Champion. Dingo returned to HVW last month at “You got another thing Coming” against Tony Kozina in a back and forth war. Dingo got his hand raised and as soon as Kahagas had defeated Donovan Ruddick for the championship, Dingo let the fans know that he had his eyes set on the belt.

Dingo may have the 1-0 lead in the series, but he should beware. Since their classic match, Kahagas has been on a roll facing some of the toughest competition around the world and HVW. Kahagas teamed up with “Big” Rick Fuller to take on HVW Livewire Champion Brandon Espinosa and HVW Champion Donovan Ruddick with the stipulation being that if either Kahagas or Fuller got the pin, they would be crowned the champion of the respective belt. Kahagas became the Livewire Champion after pinning Espinosa. In August, Kahagas got even with his former manager The Magic Man by defeating his protégé Ruddick in a Falls count anywhere match.

There will be no turning back when two of the best wrestlers in the Midwest meet once again to determine just who the best is.
RuddickBlandpostercopy

The summer of 2009 will always be remembered as the feud of HVW and Mark Bland. Bland hosts Absolute Wrestling Radio, and maybe he thought no one was listening when he made the mistake of calling out champions throughout the Midwest. Weeks went by and Bland felt good about himself as no one stepped up to the plate. That changed with one phone call—not from a wrestler but HVW Promoter TNT Keny G called in to let Bland know he had an invite to May’s HVWPeace and Blood” show. Bland claimed he was busy that night and sent AWR’S Matt Krueger in his place. The aftermath saw Krueger hitting Donovan Ruddick with a chair and paying for it dearly. TNT Keny G added insult to injury when he kicked Krueger out of the building.

Mark Bland immediately went to the airwaves to let Ruddick know that he was going to “Knock him out.” Bland stated that he was a superstar in the making and if not for an injury that sidetracked him he would be in the WWE today. TNT Keny G made a move that sent Bland to the edge, with prior knowledge that Bland was not going to be at an AWR broadcast, TNT Keny G and Ruddick took over the AWR show to make fun of Bland and what he claimed as the popular wrestling drinking game “The Randy Orton Game.”

Bland was not amused and with his spy’s around the city, he got word that the controversial promoter was making a visit at The Fan Shop. With a camera man on hand, he videotaped a vicious assault on TNT that shocked the wrestling scene.

Later the two had words at Six Flags as Keny and Ruddick sent an invite for Bland to show up at HVW’S “You got another thing coming” on August 15.

The night started out with fireworks as the two had to be separated when Bland took the offer to wrestle Donovan Ruddick at the next show. Bland promised that Ruddick would be knocked out.

Little did anyone know that it would be THAT night he would make good on that promise. In the main event, Bland changed the course of HVW when he sent The Magic Man reeling with a punch then delivered a chair shot that KNOCKED Ruddick out and set him on a table. Kahagas then went to the top of the balcony and delivered body splash to be crowned the new HVW Kingpin.

In less than one month, all the talking will be in the past. Can Mark Bland show the wrestling world that he is indeed an untapped wrestling talent and one to be reckoned with? Or will the former HVW Champion and 6 foot 9 monster Donovan Ruddick get revenge for his title loss?

Want more??

Tag team action does not get any better than this one. HVW will crown their first ever Tag team Champions, and the two teams going for this coveted prize do not like each other at all.

Devin and Mason Cutter, The Hooligans, have been dominating wrestling throughout the Midwest. Don’t let their actions fool you; what appears to be total chaos in the ring is text book tag teaming. From the moment that they signed the contract at HVW these two have been itching to prove that they are the team to beat in the Midwest.

The Bandana Mafia (Pierre Abernathy and Evan Gelistico) are 2/3 of the 6 man cup. Always entertaining, these two have earned the respect of the fans with their own unorthodox style. They go into this match with bragging rights of defeating the Cutters younger brother Neil “Diamond” Cutter and his tag team partner, The Blackheart, in the first round.

MWR was able to catch up with both teams after the August 15th HVW show.

A main event match anywhere in the Midwest you will not want to miss The Hooligans and The Bandana Mafia battle to become the first ever HVW Tag Team Champions.

Fans of women wrestling will not want to miss Santana G’s one on one wrestling debut, as she takes on the St Louis debut of Mia Martinez. Santana has already won the hearts of wrestling fans with her sweet personality and work ethic. Santana has been getting proper training at the NWA Dynamo Gym as the veteran Mia Martinez looks to make a name for herself in the Midwest.
Mia Martinez
Mia, trained by Ace Steele, Danny Dominion, is dubbed La Chica Diamante…”The Diamond Girl”. Mia battled with one of PWI’s top 50 female wrestlers in the world, Malia Hosaka, this past year in the Midwest.

HVW continues to bring fresh talent to the area when the one and only Curly makes his way to Granite City. You will not forget the three stooge fanatic once you see him. One of my favorites and after October 10th he will be one of yours as well.
HVW Oct 10 Curly 2

On August 15th at “You got another thing Coming” Jeremy Wyatt was offended that he had no one to wrestle and he let MWR’s Josh Ray know about it. Josh responded that he would personally have a challenge set for “The Rebel” when HVW returns on October 10th. Who has Josh signed to be Wyatt’s opponent? He won’t say but he advises Wyatt to be ready. Wyatt promises to make an example of his said opponent as he gets closer to defending his HVW Cup on November 14th at the MWR Showcase Show in Granite City against Dingo.

Also appearing HVW will be Mark Sterling, Brandon Aarons, Davey Vega Gary Jay, Eric Allen, Alexandre Rudolph, Mississippi Madman, Brandon Espinosa, Cabal, and The Magic Man.

High Voltage Wrestling continues to mix the best in St Louis with elite in the Midwest. No where else can you get this much action for the measly price of $10.00 a ticket with kids 7 and under FREE.

Be a part of history as HVW celebrates their ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with “ENCORE” on October 10th in Granite City.

IHW Sept. 5 Arena Report

Posted by reimaginejournalism on October 3, 2009

By Kari Williams

At the VFW Hall in Dupo, IL, 88 witnessed deception and defeat, feuds boil over and utter chaos all around. From the opening tag team contest to the Pro Wrestling Entertainment (PWE) Championship match in the main event, every match left fans wondering what would happen next.

The Hooligans—Mason, Devin and Neil “Diamond” Cutter—and the Submission Squad of Pierre Abernathy, Evan Gelistico and Gary Jay continued their hate-filled feud, which has gone all over the Midwest in countless promotions. Before the bell even rang, the two teams brawled through the crowd, causing fans to scatter. As they made their way back in the ring, the Squad took control with their fast-paced, high energy offense. But the Hooligans’ dirty tactics—which helped them wrestle the LWA Tag Team Championships away from the Squad—soon dominated the bout. Neither team would be deterred, and they continued in a an exceedingly competitive way. The Hooligans etched out a win, due to their underhanded tactics.

Fan favorite Billy McNeil went at the despised Sean Vincent in a thrilling bout of athleticism and high-flying acrobatics. McNeil gained the early advantage, causing Vincent to back off and take a minute to organize a plan of action. Vincent’s rage soon kicked in, and the match exploded into a and abundantly competitive match up which resulted in McNeil crashing and burning after launching toward a not-so-unaware Vincent. After the misstep on McNeil’s behalf, Vincent acted like an animal going in for the kill. Despite McNeil’s valiant effort—and full-fledged fan support—Vincent’s attack was too brutal. Vincent pulled out the win in a pinning combination with his feet on the ropes.

Brandon Aarons came out to talk about his match later in the evening against PWE Heavyweight Champion “Bloody” Harker Dirge and his victory in the St. Louis Wrestling Invitational Tournament. However, before Aarons could finish his ‘acceptance speech,’ “Peoria Pride Champion” Eric Allen—the man Aaron defeated to win the tournament—took it upon himself to interrupt Aarons, saying that “Brandon Aarons is the new standard…and I’m sick of it!” Allen then attacked Aarons, prompting Shorty Biggs to come to Aarons’ defense.

Cabal and Graves took on Shawn Almighty and Ian Storm in the second tag team contest of the night. Fans took an instant liking to Almighty and Storm, which appeared to aid them in their battle against their unpredictable opponents. Storm and Almighty worked extremely well together, but the overwhelming strength and tag team knowledge that Cabal and Graves had allowed them to cut the ring in half and alienate Almighty from Storm. The moment that Almighty finally had Storm within reach for a tag, Storm jumped down from the ring apron with an evil smirk slowly spreading across his face. Storm then walked off and left Almighty to fend for himself against the two behemoths. Cabal and Graves made quick work of the deserted Almighty.

Mr. Late Night emerged from the back to introduce Napalm to the crowd prior to Napalm’s No Disqualification match with Mephisto. These two hardcore enthusiasts did not wait long to let their brutal sides emerge. Napalm delivered the first strike with a ‘wet floor’ sign and steel chair, and Mephisto followed suit with chairs, a ladder and thumbtacks—a staple of the No DQ match, it seems. They brutalized each other, and a pivotal moment occurred when Napalm struck Mephisto with a stop sign from under the ring. However, this only seemed to enrage Mephisto, who then brought a table into the mix. The bout ended shortly thereafter, when Mephisto speared Napalm into the table.

During intermission, it looked as though the wrestlers would come out to sign autographs for fans, but the Hooligans and the Submission Squad had different ideas. The two teams brawled yet again, and had to be forced to the back by security.

Back into the action the cocky Eric Allen returned to the ring to take on the popular Short Biggs. Biggs opened the match strong by dominating the first six minutes of the contest. When Biggs hit a vicious belly to belly suplex, Allen wisely retreated outside the ring, but Biggs kept the pressure on him by punishing him outside the ring before he threw him back into it.

Finally Allen was able to get some offense in……for a moment then Biggs was back in control. The turning point came when MR Late Night made his way to the ring. Allen had Biggs reeling and the crowd attempted to pump op the “Don Mega” by having the house rockin with “Shorty” chants. The motivation must have helped because Biggs delivered a belly to back suplex. MR Late Night pulled Allen out of the ring to give him a moment but went the action came back in the ring Biggs was still in control. Mr. Late Night distracted the ref and Allen tried to hit Biggs with his “Pride of Peroian” Championship belt but Biggs caught it. The Ref had turned and took the belt away from Biggs and administered a warning. Once again MR Late Night got the attention of the ref which allowed Allen to get a cheap shot by hitting Biggs down low too steal the victory.

IWA-Mid South Heavyweight Champion Dingo put his title on the line against Matt Cage, who was hesitant to start the match. After playing to the crow a little bit, Dingo forced Cage to get down to business, and they wrestled one of the most technically sound matches on the card. They matched each other hold for hold, and nearly every high impact move looked as if it would end the bout—but neither man gave in that easily. Dingo’s God-given talent resonated and Cage’s pure mat skill propelled the match to its most exciting moments, as when the two journeyed to the outside, and Dingo allowed fans (who may or may not wrestle for other promotions in the area) to chop Cage. Back in the ring, Cage focused his attack on Dingo’s hand, which he injured attempting to chop Cage but inadvertently hit the ring post. But Dingo’s resiliency and fight pushed him forward, and he walked away with the victory and the IWA-MS Heavyweight Championship.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s #445 on the PWI 500 “Thee” Brandon Espinosa had his hands full against “Spoiled” Steven Kennedy and Max Archer in a triple threat. Although a relatively short match, all three men got in formidable offense. Espinosa with his enziguri kick from the top turnbuckle, Kennedy with the second-rope moonsault and Archer delivered the most devastating blow when he attempted to powerbomb Kennedy, who happened to have Espinosa on his shoulders as well. Despite valiant efforts by all three men, Archer opportunistically caught Espinosa in a roll-up pinning combination for the shocking win.

Aarons’ biggest test to date came in the form of PWE Champion Dirge.

As the underdog, the crowd rooted for Aarons and urged him toward victory. Dirge’s more grounded style complimented Aarons’ faster-paced style. Aarons took a lot of high risks, and although not all of them paid off, it proved that he will do whatever necessary to win championship gold.

Dirge’s vicious beating instilled more fortitude into the young competitor, rather than causing him to back down—in contrast to what one might suspect. Approximately half-way through the match, Eric Allen came out from the back and sat down to watch the match progress. Both Dirge and Aarons scored many nearfalls, and at the point where it looked as though Aarons would win his first major championship, Allen pulled the referee out of the ring. This distraction allowed for Dirge to spear Aarons and retain the belt. In the aftermath, Allen attacked Aarons and Biggs yet again came to Aarons’ aid.
