NWL KC This Saturday Royal Blood vs. Niles Plonk & Ken Dharma, Jeremy Wyatt vs. Thor Theriot

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 18, 2017

Don’t you dare miss the second NWL KC event at the Scottish Rite Temple at Linwood & Paseo this Saturday at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. It’s a special night as we kick off the tournament to crown the first KC champion in history with two qualifying matches. League prez Major Baisden will appear to display the stunning KC championship belt—a title definitely worh fighting for.

In other bouts, Thor Theriot will attempt to dethrone the The Monarch Jeremy Wyatt in what should be a classic. Dakota Draper will be there to impress without breaking a sweat. And be prepared for the debut of the maniacal mercenaries from the West Coast, cousins Marco and Leonel Howlett.

They informed us they were “a little disappointed” to find they weren’t booked for the inaugural NWL KC event. So they took negotiations into their own hands—by taking one of our NWL interns hostage. Normally, we wouldn’t cave to such horrifying tactics, but to ensure Harold’s safe return to his family, we agreed to not only air this graphic video but also book the Howletts on this Saturday’s card—against The Union. Joe and Mack are so angry, they are ready to kick these punks’ butts all the way back to California. See what we hope is the first and last appearance of these maniacal mercenaries from the West Coast: reserve you seats at fightkc.ticketfly.com.

NWL KC #wrasslin’ returns to rock the Scottish Rite Temple this Saturday at 7 p.m. In the main event, Royal Blood_NWL will take to the air against high society’s Niles Plonk & Ken Dharma, who claim their organic teamwork will be enough to ground the high-flying favorites.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Reserve tix at fightkc.ticketfly.com.

NWL, LLC Announces Plans to Open State-of-the-Art Training & Performance Center

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 1, 2016

gi_59126_alistair_16-11-28_20786The National Wrasslin’ League (NWL, LLC) has announced plans to open its Training & Performance Center (TPC), a 10,000-square-foot facility designed to help talent reach peak physical conditioning and train prospective wrestlers.

“This state-of-the-art center will enable NWL talent to continually hone their in-ring craft and get in the best shape of their lives through an extensive training and nutrition program,” says Major Baisden, NWL president. “The NWL TPC will also contain a fully equipped studio for shooting interviews and video features with talent appearing on NWL events in Kansas City and St. Louis.”

Opening in February 2017 at 105 E 18th Avenue in North Kansas City, the NWL TPC will be equipped by Sorinex, a leading provider of strength-training equipment to college and professional sports teams, including more than 90% of the NFL. Other amenities will include a pro-style locker room and clubhouse for NWL wrestlers as well as a competition ring for performers and prospective talent to train.

Derek Stone, a ring veteran who has wrestled throughout the world since beginning his career in 1993, will serve as training director at the NWL TPC. Rob Messerli, a NASM, CSCS and Precision Nutrition certified trainer, will oversee the daily training and recovery of the League’s athletes in his role as strength and conditioning coach.

“Stone and Messerli are experts in their respective fields who can help take the League’s performers to the next level,” Baisden says. “The TPC will prove invaluable as NWL KC and NWL STL continue to attract talent from across the country.”

Under Stone’s direction, the TPC will also offer novice and advanced wrestling schools twice a year for a limited number of qualified candidates, along with occasional clinics for experienced pros. Open tryouts for the wrestling school will be held on the following dates, with prospective students only required to attend one day: Dec. 10–11; Jan. 14–15; and Feb. 11–12.

NWL KC Signs Popular Wrestling Star from Texas

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 17, 2016

static1-squarespace-com

NWL KC has landed high-flying superstar Bolt Brady, who will compete as Blaine Meeks under the terms of the multiyear agreement.

The popular wrestler from Austin, Texas, will make his NWL KC debut at the promotion’s inaugural show on January 7 at the Scottish Rite Temple in midtown Kansas City.

League president Major Baisden, who oversaw the contract signing at NWL Headquarters in downtown Kansas City, says the wrestling world needs more competitors like Blaine Meeks.

“Blaine Meeks may look mild-mannered, but he’s an outstanding athlete whose aerial style has electrified crowds nationwide,” Baisden says. “When I look at Meeks, I see a decent young man who has the potential to be a breakout hero and an outstanding role model for the NWL’s younger fans.”

An avid comics fan with more than 5,000 books in his alphabetized collection, Meeks says he was drawn to NWL KC because of the League’s emphasis on colorful characters and storyline-driven entertainment.

“NWL KC is a shiny new brand offering a fresh product,” he says. “It’s the perfect place for me to reboot myself, so to speak. As I enter this exciting next chapter of my career, I feel like my favorite hero, Daredevil—the man without fear.”
