Missouri Wrestling Revival is excited to work with another great artist to honor the wrestlers of the past, today and future. For the very first time here on the MWR site we have artwork by Way Outta Line Caricatures from Jaime Baker. It is hard pressed to find a true wrestling fan that does not love Bruiser Brody and Bakers’ Brody promises to be a favorite for years to come.
It has been no secret that Brody is a personal favorite of ours, as well as many around the world. In the past we have had the privilege of having the blessings of his wife, Barbara Goodish to produce our very own MWR Trading card of Brody. That card had it all. It featured the bio of Brody, thanks to his good friend and HOF himself Larry Matysik. Matysik was the Co-author of Brodys’ book, Brody, along with Goodish, so it was perfect to have the bio come from a man who were truly friends with one of the wrestlings true rebels. We were thrilled to also have Brody artwork front and back on the card from our very good friend Rob Schamberger.
We continued to honor him in the 2013 MWR Yearbook, as Ron McCaffery III, done an awesome full page spread of Brody.
2015 continues to prove that though the years pass, wrestling fans will never forget the one and only Bruiser Brody. This April at the Cauliflower Alley Club 50TH Year Anniversary Brody’s wife Barbara will be accepting the CAC Posthumous award in Las Vegas.
For fans in the MWR Coverage area SICW Promoter Herb Simmons is working hard for a must attend event Saturday May 16th “The Bruiser Brody Memorial” which will be held in conjunction with the 56 Anniversary of the Wrestling at the Chase. Barbara will return to the St. Louis Area along with Brody’s former partner Stan Hansen.
With all that great news in 2015, I was excited to see a special caricature of Bruiser Brody thanks to the talented Jamie Baker.

Santana Garrett continues to be RED hot in the world of pro wrestling. In her young career she has been featured in many of the top wrestling promotions in the country including WWE: NXT, TNA PPV’S, SHIMMER and SHINE. Fans have been thrilled to see Santana G grace the pages of Pro Wrestling Illustrated and with her being featured as the cover girl for the Ring Sirens December issue the magazine has been selling like crazy.
With the popularity and beauty of Santana Garrett, it can be easily forgotten that she is a women that is very focused on being the top female wrestler in the world today. She possess all three qualities that every wrestler would like to have, talent, charisma and the looks. That has led to success in single victories and tag team championships at WOW with partner Amber O’Neal.
Yet, her biggest test is set to come as she is seeking to capture a title that she has yearned to have for years, the NWA Women’s World Championship currently held by the talented Barbi Hayden. If Santana G is to accomplish her goal to be the NWA Women’s Champion, she will have earned it as Hayden is as good as they come. Hayden has been a fighting champion ever since defeating Kacee Carlisle at NWA Houston and has a victory against Santana Garrett early on, but Santana Garrett has shown that she is able to recover from a loss and return even better.
The NWA is on the upswing with a NWA President Bruce Tharpe regaining a presence in Japan and classic matches that include the likes of SATOSHI KOJIMA defeating the “IRONMAN” Rob Conway for the NWA World title, and quite possibly the most talented group of wrestlers in the NWA top 10 in years.
Many believe that Santana Garrett is the future of the sport, but she can only be as good as her opponents and the feuds that she has. Flair had Steamboat, Hogan had Andre and Stone Cold had Vince…….Is it only fitting that Garrett has Hayden…. .
Could 2014 be the year for Women’s wrestling in the NWA? If Santana Garrett has anything to say about it, it will.
Look for NWA World Champion Barbi Hayden vs. Santana Garrett to heat up this spring near a ring near you.
StricktlyNsane ProWrestling presents SHATTERED DREAMS and BROKEN bones on November 2nd in Crossville, Illinois, A night of action featuring an all-star cast including the former MWR Tag Team of the Year and current StricktlyNsane ProWrestling tag team champions the Hooligans taking on JCW Champ 2 Tuff Tony and MADMAN Pondo, “Crazy” Mary Dobson fresh off her world tour of England and Japan goes one on one against Jordynn Grace and “The Man of Steel”Daniel Eads will challenge for the Heavyweight Championship against JP Lightning.
Believe it or not, that is not all!
Pro Wrestling’s number one hated wrestler in world, Tony Kozina is now the hunted. Long known as a man that can wrestle with the best of them, the former NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion and trainer of ROH great Davey Richards has only became bitter and meaner with each passing day.
StricktlyNsane ProWrestling fans have been furious at Kozina .
During 2013, Kozina has told anyone that would listen that he is the man and that no one there can hang with him in the squared circle. He was quick to use underhanded tactics to defeat popular 2 Tuff Tony much to the dismay of the fans.
It would look as if Kozina would meet his match when he went one on one against former WWE Superstar Eugene, but once again he would cheat to win sending everyone from the front to the back into a fit as he only became more obnoxious than ever.
If the fans thought that had reached their peak of being angry that were sadly mistaken. At the last show Kozina felt that he was not being respected when the promoter matched him up against a man that MWR considers to be one of the Midwest top young wrestle today, Jake Parnell. Kozina would make Parnell pay when he beat him mercilessly while letting everyone know at the same time that no one can stop him.
That may change in less than two weeks when a man that is a master of head games, Lord Goldie (WWE’S GoldDust) makes his way to StricktlyNsane ProWrestling to teach Kozina a lesson on respect.
Will Tony Kozina be able to outsmart Lord Goldie or will Tony Kozina feel the curtain fall once and for all?
Tony Kozina was the special quest on Mark Blands show The Q SHOW and states that he will present Golddust with a Tony Award…that and much more from wrestlings most hated man.
Editor’s note: The thoughts and views that are stated on the Q SHOW do not necessary reflect the views or opinions of anyone here at MWR. Explicit material as well.
KOZ IS BACK! And he has a little on his plate to talk about regarding an upcoming match with a new Tag Team Champion from a little organization called WWE.
Then its rant time. Coming off his rant from the other video series he does with DJ C-Note in the STL area for HOT 104, Mark has a serious issue with Black culture and their gullibility on certain things, especially the BET awards shows that are put out 3-4 times a year. And an issue he has with Panera Bread/St. Louis Bread Company for gouging people on their food prices.
The Daily show released a comedic video regarding Tea Party/Extreme GOP members and how they are destroying the new re-opened federal government over the budget demands that shut it down. Very interesting and funny look at truly out there some people on the right of the aisle happen to be.
Plus BNN with Producer Bobby discussing good ole castration and letter from the listener or two.
Rob Conway has defended his NWA Title around the world including multi trips to Japan.
The NWA returned to the Midwest in 2013 with a huge NWA World Championship match between the current NWA World Champion Rob Conway and the NWA Central States Champion Evan “Money” Morris on August 31st. For the first time Money got to feel first-hand the power and talent of one of the Champion of the World . Though the outcome was a loss, the match should provide experience for Money as he looks to defend his Central States Championship and prove to the NWA that he is deserving of another shot.
Till then Rob Conway is on the road taking on all challengers that feels if they are man enough to take on “The Iron Man” one on one.
Evan Money feels the power of the Champ Conway
In less than two weeks Rob Conway is set to defend the title against former ECW Champion and WWE, TNA star Rhino in San Antonio, Texas at “Showdown in September” on September 21st in a battle between two true monsters of the ring. This match promises to be a bruising affair that will leave even the winner beat and battered. ‘
If Conway can survive the onslaught of Rhino, life will not get any easier and he will be on his way to meet wrestling legend Liger on September, 29th in Japan in what promises to be a classic. If Conway is able to retain the title from the legend in his home country, there is one man that has his eyes set on the NWA Title and that is former 8-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Harley Race’s own student Trevor Murdoch.
Murdoch, a former 3-time WWE Tag Team Champion has wrestled around the world thrilling fans in the main event against the very best. Murdoch a former 4-time Harley Race owned World League Wrestling champion would be a true threat to the NWA World title, and would have extra desire to add his name to his mentor in the record books of the historic NWA.
NWA President Bruce R Tharpe and the NWA World Champion Rob Conway
Missouri Wrestling Revival caught up with the NWA President Bruce R Tharpe to ask him for his thoughts of possibility of a match between the NWA World Champion Rob Conway and Trevor Murdoch and the President was quick to say that “Both Murdoch and Patera are formidable challengers and these would both be great matches!”
Yet, Murdoch is not the only champion that is letting it be known that they have been seeking an opportunity to add their name to the NWA dynasty.
No woman has won the WLW Ladies Championship more than Miss Natural, is she poised to win the NWA Women’s Championship?
The daughter of Ken Patera, “Miss Natural” Heather Patera have been traveling the country seeking a challenge that is capable of matching up with her skills, something that very few are able to do. Trained by her father, as well as Harley Race, she has been the WLW Ladies Champion 6 times, while appearing at SHIMMER and capturing huge wins against the former NWA Women’s champion MsChif in her hometown.
Kacee Carlisle captured the NWA Women’s title from the 3 –time NWA Women’s champion Tasha Simone on October 20, 2012 and has not looked backed ever since. She is in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated for the 34th week in a row and is now number 4 in the world.
If this match was to happen the fans of the Midwest wrestling would be witness to two of the hardest hitting females in the sport today. Miss Natural would be the hunter seeking to pounce and add the NWA Women’s World title to go along the many accolades of her father Ken Patera and become the 22nd women to hold onto a title that was first held by wrestling great Mildred Burke.
Trained by the 8-time Former NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch and Miss Natural have been capturing huge wins around the country.
If Harley Race’s most decorated students invade the NWA will anyone be able to stop them?

We are excited to be joined with Rob Conway. In the past Conway has been kind enough to be a part of our first ever MWR Trading card series at number 46. At that time he had already established himself as a champion around the world capturing the WWE Tag Team titles on three occasions.
Today Rob Conway is the reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion after defeating Kahagas on March 16, 2013 in a classic match-up. MWR fans were well aware of the huge year that the NWA had in the Midwest as both Adam Pearce and Colt Cabana defended the title in several MWR promotions that we cover including Metro Pro Wrestling, 3XWrestling, MAGNUM PRO WRESTLING, All American Pro Wrestling and Dynamo Pro Wrestling.
Pearce for his impact in the Midwest and huge matches with the likes of Jeremy Wyatt, Ricky Cruz, Heath Hatton, ACH, Michael Strider and Tony Cortez as well as capturing the NWA Title for the fifth time in the Seven Levels of Hate match in Kansas City against Cabana was named the 2012 MWR Wrestler of the Year.
Unfortunately, a windfall of events saw NWA affiliates Metro Pro and Dynamo withdraw their membership and the Midwest was left without an NWA promotion as 2012 ended. 2013 has seen Central States Wrestling take hold of the territory in the name of the NWA but getting back the momentum that the NWA had has been a struggle.
The promotions leading fan favorite Evan “Money” Morris turned his back on his fans and is the current NWA Central states Champion led by manager Garrett Williams Morris will have a chance to prove to the world that he is as good as he says he is when he meets Rob Conway for the 10 pounds of Gold on August 31st in Cahokia, Illinois.
With the signature on the dotted line we are happy to speak the Champion of the World Rob Conway. Conway.
The NWA World Champion Rob Conway has words for the NWA president Bruce Tharpe – Photo courtesy of the facebook of Rob Conway
MWR: Rob , you have wrestled around the world, been in three WrestleMania’s and captured WWE Tag Team Championships with partner Sylvain Grenier. You have the work ethic to be among the best at any goal you set your mind to. You got your start with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) , what surprised you the most about becoming a wrestler?
Conway: I was surprised at how hard the ring is and the ring ropes are made of cable. I had no idea that it was going to take years to become a real pro. I thought I was in good shape but nothing prepares you for pro wrestling
MWR: Every wrestlers dream is to make it to the WWE, What are some of your fondness memories of making it to the top?
Conway: I think we all dream of one day being in Wrestlemania’s , having action figures made of yourself, being in video games ,traveling the world and winning championships. I was fortunate to have accomplished all those things in the WWE. Winning the world tag team championships in Montreal from edge and Chris Benoit was a huge match for me and a great memory.
I also enjoyed being in the ring face to face on the microphone with The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and Harley Race and a ring full of legends at WWE Homecoming.
MWR: The NWA last year felt the pressure of some big decisions that changed their landscape after a red hot year. When the smoke cleared they were fortunate to have a man of your statue to lead the organization into the future. Since capturing the title from Kahagas in San Antonio, TX. . You have wrestled in 49 states and 11 countries but for the first time you were able to defend the NWA title in Japan. For the fans in the area that are not in the know of the importance of your victories over the summer can you describe what it was like to walk to Japan to be the NWA Worlds Champion and how were the matches.
Conway: I am very honored to be the NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION and going to defend the Championship in New Japan has been amazing. The wrestling fans in Japan are very knowledgeable and they know the importance of the NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP and they want that belt very badly. I believe they appreciate my Style of Wrestling. The reaction I get is unbelievable it feels great walking in the Champion representing the NWA AND THE USA and Leaving the Champion.
MWR: You have also retained the title over former WWE wrestler and Harley Race’s WLW Champion Chris Masters in your reign proving that weather you are in the States or overseas you are truly a World Champion. In the past all the great champions had great challengers, The Briscos has the Funks, Race had Flair and even Pearce had Cabana. If you could go back in time to meet one NWA World Champion in their prime, who is your choice?
Conway: When I got to finally Wrestle Ric Flair in a PPV match it was very special.
I would have loved to wrestle many of the great champions in the prime. Kerry Von Erich in Dallas Stadium would have been amazing. Harley Race in St. Louis. Terry Funk or Dusty Rhodes. (There are) Too many to list.
MWR: I have had honor of photographing NWA title matches ringside with Pearce and Cabana, and look forward to being the photographer for your debut as NWA Champion in St Louis. In the past I was also fortunate to work with Alliance Wrestling to support the NWA but with the fallout of major NWA promotions Metro and Dynamo Pro Wrestling I have not been able to follow the NWA in our coverage area. What does the NWA have to do to move to the next level and get your NWA title reign more respect in the states?
Photo courtesy of the facebook of Rob Conway
Conway: I think the NWA is getting more respect in the states every day. The NWA is moving forward in a positive direction with New promotions all across the world that are wanting to grow and put on great Pro Wrestling shows. Pro Wrestling fans are looking to see good in ring action. I know the NWA has a new national website and when we get a National Television show it will give pro wrestling fans a chance to see the great talent that we have in the NWA.
NWA Central States Champion Evan “Money” Morris- Photo courtesy of the facebook of Evan Money
MWR: On August 31st fans in Cahokia, Illinois you will face the NWA Central States Champion Evan Money and his snake of a manager Garrett Williams. He will have the edge of having a ton of video of your ring skills heading into your match. He will look to make history happen and become the new NWA Worlds Champion, how do you prepare for such an encounter.
Conway: As for Evan Money and Garret Williams they are willing to break rules and try just about anything to win a match so I can imagine that they will have a plan to try and win the biggest match of their lives. When the match starts I will be ready for everything. I will do whatever it takes to stay champion. You can ask Ricky Morton, Chase Stevens, Chris Masters ,Damien Wayne ect. “To be the man you have to beat the Ironman” it’s easier said than done.
MWR: The night is stacked with talent including fellow NWA Stars “Addictive & Expensive” Byron Wilcott NWA Illinois State Title Shane Fury, a Ladies Match when Jordynne Grace meets Claudia Solis, Bolt Brady, Eric Allen and much more. If you were to speak to the fans why would you tell them to come out to the Knights of Columbus on August 31st.
Conway: I look forward to meeting everyone that comes to the event I will have the NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BELT with me and the great fans will be able to get their pictures taken with The ironman and the Ten Pounds of Gold.
Rob Conway was featured in the first ever series of MWR Trading cards with photos from Pamela Barnett.
MWR: Rob, thank you once again for taking the time to speak to MWR. We feel very strongly that it is a treat to the fans of St Louis to come out and see a man of your talents on the night. In each and every interview and conversation with fans and wrestlers about you, your name have always brought up in the highest regard as a professional and a person.. I hope that Central States Wrestling is packed for your title match against Money at the end of the month. How can wrestling fans find out more about you?
Conway: for more info about me you can check out facebook Rob Conway II. Twitter @TheRobConway, NWARINGSIDE.COM or theironmanrobconway.com
Gary Jackson is one of the most recognizable and respected wrestlers in St Louis for the past three decades. Bruiser Brody nicknamed him Night Train, he will be the first one to tell you that he is “Gorgeous”, but everyone agrees that the nickname “The Great One” is truly appropriate.

President of the National Wrestling Alliance with NWA heavyweight champ “Ironman” Rob Conway
Everyone here would like to congratulate “Ironman” Rob Conway for becoming the new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion this past weekend in San Antonio, Texas. Conway was able to power his way to victory in a hard fought battle against “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas.
Conway is an ultra-talented wrestler that has been a 3-time WWE Tag Champion and will no doubt be a force to be reckon with in 2013.
Art of Rob Conway from Rob Schamberger
We were honored to have Conway agree to be a part of our first series of the MWR Trading Card set at number #46. So best wishes to the new NWA worlds Champion as he head to Japan to defend the title in the near future.
Kahagas is also a member of that historic trading card set at number 8th and was a fighting NWA World champion since winning the title this past December by winning a 9-man elimination match, last eliminating Damien Wayne.
MWR fans be sure to come out to see the former NWA Worlds Champion Kahagas when he returns to Dynamo Pro Wrestling to meet Kevin X on April 5th.

In less than three days the NWA have set the wheels in motion to decide just who is the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion in Clayton, NJ at the Clayton High School for NWA DAWG (Dangerous Adrenaline Wrestling Gladiators).
Some of the very best young lions will be in action that night including former NWA National Champion Chance Prophet, who currently holds the NWA Ring Warriors Bahamas Championship, Damien Wayne the current NWA DAWG Champion, the NWA Smoky Mountain Champion, Jason “The Gift” Kincaid and rising star The “Greek God” Papadon ranked 223 in this year’s annual PWI 500.
One common denominator between yesterday’s NWA and today’s board of directors is the fear of the man known as the Tokyo Monster, Kahagas. Just a little over a year ago during a tournament to crown a new NWA Junior Champion the board look the other way as Kahagas sent word to anyone that would listen that he wanted to be involved in that tournament.
In that tournament Kevin Dougles would go on to defeat Chase Owens in Charlotte, NC on October 7th,2011. Meanwhile The NWA would offer up Chance Prophet to Kahagas with the thought that the 13 month reigning NWA National Champion Prophet would be able to shut him at NWA Battle of the Belts on MARCH 29,2012 for NWA Ring Warriors.
When the smoke cleared Kahagas was not only standing but holding the belt up high for the NWA to see as Prphet laid battered and beaten . Since that time Prophet , Kevin Dougles and even the last NWA World Champion Adam Pearce have all been defeated by Kahagas as he has toured the country defending the belts from Woonsocket, Rhode Island , Nassau, Bahama, Ft. Lauderdale FL, Kansas City, KS and Dallas ,Texas to name just a few.
The rich history of the NWA National title should not be dismissed as men like Jack Brisco, Masked Superstar, Wahoo McDaniel and Dusty Rhodes have all worn the title. In fact, Kahagas has faced 35 former NWA World, Tag or NWA Junior Champions in the past including Dusty Rhodes, Adam Pearce, Blue Demon, Jason Rumble, Hector Guerrero, the Headbangers and many more.
So that leads with the question and anger from the mind of pro wrestling’s fiercest striker Kahagas.
“Why is he not invited to the Wrath of Champions to get his hands on the coveted title?
Is NWA DAWG running and hiding while having the Tokyo Monster defend his belt in Texas on back to back nights against some poor soul who does not know what he has gotten himself into?
The referee on record for the historic match on July 21st was Michael Crase Jr as Adam Pearce met his arch rival Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana in stage four of the Seven levels of Hate series. – photo credit Brian Kelley

Adam Pearce captures the NWA World title in Kansas City at Metro Pro Wrestling from Colt Cabana.
In the past the Midwest has caused “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce some pain and stress, but July, 21st will go down in his career and history as the day the NWA World title returned in his hands for the fifth time.
Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce has been to war many times in the past against each other but in 2012 the wrestling world was introduced with a best of seven called the Seven Levels of Hate. The matches would be featured in many of the top NWA promotions in the country with a different stipulation.
As the series started Cabana stood tall as the NWA Worlds Champion and momentum on his side. In the first match at NWA Championship Wrestling Holywood California from Glendale, California the battle would go toe to toe in a First Blood match. Many wrestling experts felt this was one match going in that Pearce had the advantage but Cabana showed his versatility by winning the match and putting doubt in the former 4-time NWA Worlds Champions head.
In round two, at New England Championship Wrestling in Bridgetown, Massachusetts the two men would battle in a Boston Street fight with Cabana once again getting his hand raised while taking a 2-0.
No one in the sport and most definitely Pearce himself believed that Pearce would be down 3-0 heading into Kansas City on July 21st.. Yet, that is what happened at Steel Domain Wrestling in the Hopkins Pavilion Hopkins, Minnesota as Pearce would suffer a heartbreaking loss during an “I quit “match. Pete Waggoner’s title for his article on the story said it all “Match best ever in SDW 15-year history”.
Cabana would catch Pearce in a Boston crab and with nowhere to go and no other choice Pearce said the words “I quit”. Cabana was one win away from winning the series and the chance to sweep his arch rival Pearce in Kansas City at Metro Pro Wrestling.
With his back against the wall and his career on the line, Pearce was reportedly running a temperature of a 102 degree fever in quite possibly his biggest match in 16 years in the ring. Pearce headed into the match at the Turner Rec Center knowing full well that it had been over thirty years September 17th, 2012 since the NWA title had changed hands in Kansas City when Ric Flair defeated Dusty Rhodes to win “The ten pounds of gold”.
To make the mountain an even bigger obstacle to overcome the match would have to be won by not just one falls, but a two of out of three falls. A packed crowd filled the Metro Pro home as Pearce would make history by becoming a five time NWA Worlds Champion in a great match.
The NWA title is again around the waist of Pearce, but one loss against “Boom Boom” Cabana for the champ and he will lose it all, the title and his career in just 1-2-3 seconds.
As the series goes into stage five with Pearce down 1-3 and the reality that Cabana has taken the title from him not once, but twice he can breath for the moment and smile as he is now a 5-time NWA Worlds Champion.
