High Level Enterprise Capture Tag Team Gold at WLW

From Jack Tierney

The opener was an 8-Man Over-The-Top-Rope Elimination match. Once the first participant was introduced, Ace Steel made an appearance and announced that he would meet the winner of this match tonight with the WLW Title on the line. So as to not be repetitive I’ll just list the order of elimination:

1. Michael Magnuson
2. Elvis Aliaga
3. Dan Walsh
4. Evan Money Morris
5. Dave DeLorean
6. Superstar Steve Fender
7. Dustin Bozworth

And the last man in the ring was Kyle Roberts who would later tonight meet Ace Steel for the WLW Title.

In the 2nd event Dustin Bozworth pinned Dan Walsh.

Despite interference from the Black Hand Warriors, Superstar Steve Fender pinned Elvis Aliaga in the 3rd match

The 4th match was for the WLW Heavyweight Title and Ace Steel retained his championship by pinning Kyle Roberts.

In the final event – the one everybody was waiting for – the team of Jack Gamble and Jon Webb – High Level Enterprise – regained their WLW Tag Team Titles (which they lost a couple weeks ago in Vienna) from the Black Hand Warriors – Michael Magnuson and Dave DeLorean. BHW were accompanied to the ring by Elvis Aliaga who, due to continued interference, was ejected from the area by Referee Richard White. Despite his return to the ring a while later, Gamble ultimately pinned DeLorean in the one fall match to win back the belts.

As always – card is subject to change – so no ladies tonight – and as you know Leland Race is of commission – but a Heavyweight Title bout was added and everybody had a great time.

Finally got a copy of Harley’s DVD – anxious to watch it and ready to enjoy WLW live again in the near future.

Dr. Tom Prichard on Harley Race and the 2014 WLW Wrestling Camp Nov 10-14

Posted by flairwhoooooo on September 15, 2014

 photo th1_zpsf34c3a50.jpg

Dr. Tom Prichard, one of the guest instructors for this camp, wrote this great write up specifically for the 2014 Harley Race Wrestling Camp!

Professional wrestling was a different animal in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Back then there were 3 major organizations (NWA, AWA, WWWF) with their respective “World” champions. The NWA was the major league back then and had a touring world champ that went from territory to territory the defend the title.

Usually the champ faced the top contender in the area in a one hour, 2 out of 3 fall match. More times than not the match went 60 minutes to a draw. 7 nights a week (and yes, many times TWICE on Sunday!)

A lot of times the world champion had no knowledge of who he would be facing until he got to the arena or venue that night. He would then go on last after maybe 5-6 matches and expected to take the local challenger and make him look like he was indeed worthy of being in the ring with the best in the world, AKA The NWA World Heavyweight Champion… That could be a daunting task for some.

The champion had to have the best match of the night. It was pride, respect and passion. The NWA was the largest organization at that time and if you were the champ you earned your stripes every night in a different town, city or country.

The NWA meant something back then. It wasn’t taken lightly and the man who held the title was expected to act, dress and represent professional wrestling wherever he went. He met any and all contenders. He was THE MAN…

Harley Race is an 8 time World Heavyweight Champion. He held the title when people still believed. It was his job to make them believe the action they saw was real and give them a world championship caliber match. It was the champ who set the pace and up to his opponent to keep up.

When the champion came the gates and attendance were up. Anticipation was high. Could this be the night the crowd would witness a new champ? I was in Houston, Texas July 20, 1973 the night Sam Muchnich presented Harley Race with a brand new $10,000 gold belt to replace the old NWA title prior to his defense against Jack Brisco. That night saw Brisco crowned the new world champion. But Harley would go on to hold the title another 7 times.

I was 12 years old then. I couldn’t have imagined over 40 years later I would be doing a seminar at Harley’s school…
I had the privilege of watching guys like Harley, The Funks, Johnny Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Jose Lothario, Fritz Von Erich, Boris Malenko and so many others who took pride in their work every time they stepped in the ring. They inspired me to become a wrestler…

After all these years I once again have the privilege of doing a seminar along with Bobby Eaton and Noah Wrestling’s Gedo and Taiji Ishimori.

If you don’t know who Harley Race is, look him up.

If you want to learn about professional wrestling, sports entertainment, where you are and how to get where you want/need to be, DON’T MISS THE 2014 HARLEY RACE WRESTLING CAMP IN TROY, MO NOVEMBER 10-14!!!

Try. Best Shot. Whatever it Takes. Which one are you? See you in November.

The 2014 Bobby Eaton Experience

Posted by flairwhoooooo on September 5, 2014

By Brian Kelley

Good day MWR fans, as you know our website supports wrestling’s top stars today, but we always respect those that paved the way in the great sport called pro wrestling. In 2014, we have been fortunate to have one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of the modern era make his way to several of the promotions in the Midwest. The man that I speak of is none other than Beautiful Bobby Eaton, who not only was one half of the Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Stan Lane)and an excellent singles wrestler to boot.

I grew up with wrestling in the 80’s and early 90’s with Eaton involved in some truly exciting matches with the Rock and Roll Express, the Steiner Brothers and a truly classic War Games matches. During his time with World Championship Wrestling, Eaton was an original “Heyman guy” with the Dangerous Alliance along with Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, WCW TV Champion Steve Austin and Larry Zbyszko.

The truth of the matter for this generation of fans he does not get the respect that he deserves due to the fact that he was never a WWE star. Thankfully, I have been told that for $9.99 you can watch some classic Eaton matches from the past to discover that he was as good as many of the stars that are in their Hall of Fame.

Eaton has made his way to the MWR coverage area for World League Wrestling and Global Wrestling Federation in the past month and is slated to be in Fenton, Missouri for Dynamo Pro Wrestling this Saturday Night.

On Saturday September 20th, Eaton will be making his way to Pro Wrestling Phoenix in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Earlier that day, wrestlers will have the opportunity to train with Beautiful Bobby Eaton.

Taiji Ishimori Announced as a Trainer for the 2014 WLW/WWE/NOAH/New Japan Camp – Wrestlers Sign Up Today

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 11, 2014

hr

August 11, 2014 – Troy, MO –

World League Wrestling is pleased to announce its newest trainer for the 2014 Harley Race Wrestling Camp – Taiji Ishimori! Mr. Ishimori will be joining the training camp Wednesday November 12 and November 13 and will be attending on behalf of Pro-Wrestling NOAH.

The relationship between Pro-Wrestling NOAH and Harley Race/World League Wrestling dates back nearly 15 years. When the relationship was first started, the creator of NOAH, Mitsuharu Misawa, attended the camp himself in order to show the world that he was looking forward to building a solid relationship with the 8-Time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion. Since then, Pro-Wrestling NOAH has attended this week-long camp choosing several wrestlers to live in Tokyo, Japan and train in the world-renowned Pro-Wrestling NOAH dojo. Wrestlers include Trevor Murdock, Superstar Steve, Ted DiBiase, Ricky Steamboat Jr., Brian Breaker, Keith Walker, Matt Murphy, Leland Race, Jon Webb, Ace Steel, and many more! Now, Pro-Wrestling NOAH is sending one of their top stars to attend this year’s training camp to seek out new talent for the top-rated wrestling promotion.

Taiji Ishimori has wrestled across the globe, making a name for himself not only as a sound technical wrestler, but also as a wrestler that can do incredible maneuvers. His abilities has led to him winning championships both in singles competition as well as tag-team competitions. Currently, he is one-half of the GHC Tag-Team Champions for Pro-Wrestling NOAH.

His tenure in Pro-Wrestling NOAH has elevated his value, making him one of the highly-sought out wrestlers to bring excitement to the ring. With just over 12 years of experience, Ishimori has also held championships in Pro-Wrestling NOAH as well as AAA, based in Mexico.

Ishimori will be attending the week-long training camp sponsored by Harley Race in November of 2014. Last year, Ishimori attended this camp on behalf of Pro-Wrestling NOAH and received rave reviews. His attention to detail and willingness to work hands-on with talent is something that helped many of the participants last year, and will again help out this year. Mr. Ishimori joins the list of instructors including Dr. Tom Prichard and “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton!

For more information for this year’s camp, please visit http://www.harleyrace.com/2014Camp.html. Sign up forms are available online, as well as available for download. Cost for the camp is $500.00 and spots are limited. More guest trainers will be announced in the forth-coming weeks!
