Celebrate the Holidays with Pro Wrestling Phoenix in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Dec 20th

As PWP brings our 9th year to a close, we can look back at a fantastic year full of memorable moments and fun events! Now, we proudly present a night of explosive wrestling action on December 20th at the Council Bluffs National Guard Armory! Let’s take a look at what’s going down!

Main Event
Darren “Thunder” Russell defends the PWP Heavyweight Championship against the winner of a Triple Threat Match earlier in the evening

Darren “Thunder” Russell has proven himself a worthy champion in PWP since winning the belt in August, not only defeating a former champion in “Showtime” Bradley Charles, but also defeating Branden Juarez in a re-match. Now, he faces a new challenge, and a new contender, as three men will fight for the chance to become #1 contender. Earlier in the night a Triple Threat Match will occur featuring some of PWP’s best! Competing in this match will be: former PWP Heavyweight Champion Ryan Slade, L-Ray with “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece, and Derek Cornell!!

Grudge Match
“The Passion” Zac James Vs. “The Omaha Chainsaw” Stephen King

2014 has been a good year for Zac James, as he has turned over a new leaf in PWP. But ever since Stephen King returned in October, Zac has had nothing but trouble. After King attacked some of James’ students in both October & November, James has had enough. Now these two men collide in what is sure to be a vicious battle! Does Zac James have what it takes to defeat King, or will King continue with the vulgar display of power he has shown since he returned? Be there to find out!

“Simply The Best” Hype Gotti & “Babyface” Tony Cortez Vs. Abu Colossus & ???

At our November event, we witnessed a shocking and disgusting display, as Abu Colossus returned, only to unexpectedly destroy Hype Gotti. Hype has had tremendous success in PWP’s tag team division in 2014, most recently with Tony Cortez. But his former partner, Abu Colossus was taken out with injury in September, and as he explains it, he did not take lightly to being replaced so immediately. After he shockingly attacked Hype last month, he explained his actions, showing his disdain for the man. Hype has made it clear that on December 20th, he will be bringing “Babyface” Tony Cortez with him for a fight, and dared Abu to find a partner. Now, former partners collide in the ring, but who will Abu find? Or will he take on both men on his own? Don’t miss it December 20th!

What’s next for “Showtime” Bradley Charles?

2014 has been a tumultuous year for “Showtime” Bradley Charles, having a few title opportunities, but failing to become a two time PWP Heavyweight Champion. After a huge announcement last month that Hardcore Holly will be in action at PWP’s January 17th event, SBC laid out the challenge, saying he needs that signature win to help him skyrocket to the top of professional wrestling in the Midwest. But will Holly answer the challenge? Be there December 20th!

What’s next for Geek Singh?

Geek Singh exploded onto the PWP scene in January of this year, stringing together a series of impressive wins. But ever since losing to Darren “Thunder” Russell, he has struggled to regain that momentum. After a disappointing loss in November, Geek emotionally told the crowd that if he loses his match on December 20th, he will quit PWP! Will Geek regret his decision? And who will be his opponent?

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Returns Nov 22nd in Council Bluffs, IA Darren “Thunder” Russell Vs. Branden Juarez

Fans, as we head into our second to last event of 2014, we’d like to thank each and every one of you who have made this 9th year of Pro Wrestling Phoenix one of our best ever! 2015 will mark 10 years of PWP, but before we get there, we have some very exciting events, including our next one, on November 22nd at the Council Bluffs National Guard Armory. Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship: Darren “Thunder” Russell Vs. Branden Juarez

There may not exist two men on the current PWP roster with more history than these two men, Branden Juarez & Darren “Thunder” Russell. Russell was able to achieve the highest accolade in PWP, when he defeated Juarez for the Heavyweight Championship in August. Now, Juarez gets his rematch. He will stop at nothing to win back the title. But with the fans by his side, Russell has more momentum than ever. Will he retain his Championship, or will Juarez become a two time PWP Heavyweight Champion? Do not miss this exciting contest on November 22nd!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Tag Team Championship: Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling Vs. “Simply The Best” Hype Gotti & “Babyface” Tony Cortez

2014 has been an amazing year for the PWP Tag Team Division, and on November 22 we add what will surely be another incredible contest to that list of matches, when Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling defend the Tag Team Championship against Hype Gotti & “Babyface” Tony Cortez. Hype Gotti pinned Mark Sterling in September and Jeremy Wyatt in October, holding pinfall victories over both of the Tag Team Champions. After Wyatt & Sterling attacked Gotti in September, Cortez made the save, showing solidarity with his long time friend/adversary. Now, Simply The Best look to become two time PWP Tag Team Champions. But can they win the match when it counts? Or will Wyatt & Sterling continue their path of dominance that began in May when they first won the titles? Be there to find out!

What’s Next For “The Passion” Zac James?

Fans at our October event witnessed a horrific event as a masked man entered the ring and destroyed two new wrestlers in PWP that “The Passion” Zac James had a hand in training. When James hit the ring, he was added to the pile of bodies left behind by this monstrous man. But who is this person, and what do they want in Pro Wrestling Phoenix? And why did they attack those three men for seemingly no reason whatsoever? Zac James promises he will get to the bottom of it on November 22nd, and he won’t stop until he gets some answers!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Returns Oct 25 in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Come get spooky with Pro Wrestling Phoenix at WrestleVania II! Tensions are high and emotions running deep lately in PWP, and we have one of the biggest main events in our 9 year history for you on October 25th! Let’s see what’s in store!

MAIN EVENT – SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH:
“Simply the Best” Hype Gotti & “Babyface” Tony Cortez, & PWP Heavyweight Champion Darren “Thunder” Russell Vs. Branden Juarez & PWP Tag Team Champions Jeremy Wyatt & Mark Sterling

Things get shaken up a bit when two volatile situations get combined into one main event that is sure to be epic! Last month the Tag Team Champions Wyatt & Sterling attacked Abu Colossus, who ended up with a broken foot, unable to compete. Gotti took both men on in the scheduled singles matches, but after an attack, it was old friend/rival Tony Cortez who came to his aid. Now, Simply the Best teams together in PWP for the first time since 2008, and they have an amazing ally in Darren “Thunder” Russell! After successfully defending the Championship against “Showtime” Bradley Charles in September, Russell must once again step in the ring with Branden Juarez, as Juarez teams with the PWP Tag Team Champions Wyatt & Sterling. But there are so many questions! Can Juarez, Wyatt & Sterling co-exist on a team? Do Gotti & Cortez still possess the tag team skills to be called Simply the Best? And what if Darren Russell is pinned, would the person who pinned him be in line for a title shot? This main event will explode live October 25th, be there!

FIRST TIME EVER
“Showtime” Bradley Charles Vs. Marek Brave

PWP proudly presents a first time match up as Marek Brave debuts on October 25th to face “Showtime” Bradley Charles! Brave has been making his name throughout the independent wrestling scene for years now, and will finally have a chance to show the PWP fans what he’s made of! Bradley Charles has been unsuccessful twice this year in Championship matches, so he needs a win to maintain his position in the ranks. Can SBC defeat the PWP newcomer, or will Marek Brave make a name for himself in PWP? Don’t miss this one!

What’s next for Geek Singh?

Geek debuted in PWP earlier this year, with great success. Geek remained undefeated for several months….until he collided with Darren “Thunder” Russell, and that undefeated streak came to a screeching halt. Geek then lost matches to both Tony Cortez and Derek Cornell. He did however regain some momentum last month, by defeating “The Passion” Zac James, although not without using underhanded tactics. Will Geek return to the winning path, either by hook or by crook? We will see on October 25th!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix with Beautiful Bobby Eaton Sept 20th

As the leaves change for Autumn, so does Pro Wrestling Phoenix. With a new PWP Heavyweight Champion in Darren “Thunder” Russell, we roll on to September 20th! Let’s see what’s in store!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship
Darren “Thunder” Russell Vs. “Showtime” Bradley Charles

Darren Russell knew he would have a target on his back if he became the PWP Heavyweight Champion. And now that he has succeeded, the wolves are out for blood! Russell was immediately challenged by “Showtime” Bradley Charles, a former PWP Heavyweight Champion and also the man who beat Russell in July. However, SBC had his feet on the ropes, as seen by everyone in attendance. Russell of course accepted the challenge, and the two men will meet in the main event September 20th. Will Russell be a flash in the pan champion, or will he continue to prove to everyone that if you work hard enough, dreams do come true? Can SBC become a two time PWP Heavyweight Champion? Be there to find out!

Grudge Match Re-Match With “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece & Joey Daniels Banned From The Building:
“Babyface” Tony Cortez Vs. L-Ray

Last month the Greece Pit interfered in L-Ray’s match with “Babyface” Tony Cortez, resulting in Cortez’s first loss since returning to PWP. PWP Officials have had enough of the Greece Pit’s shenanigans and have signed a re-match, but this time the Greece Pit is BANNED from the building! Does L-Ray have what it takes to defeat Cortez without help from his cronies, or will Cortez pick up where he left off? You don’t want to miss this one!

Tag Team Break Out:
Hype Gotti Vs. Mark Sterling
Jeremy Wyatt Vs. Abu Colossus

The epic saga between these two teams began in April of this year and has evolved from a feud of respect, to aggravation, to hatred. After last month’s Round Robin Tournament, Wyatt & Sterling still left the building PWP Tag Team Champions. Now, the teams break out on their own into HUGE singles matches for September 20th. All four of these men have had success in PWP as singles wrestlers, so there’s no predicting what’s going to happen here! Insanity ensues September 20th at the Council Bluffs National Guard Armory!

What’s Next For Branden Juarez

Branden Juarez is now without a Championship title for the first time since January of this year. Rumor has it that Juarez is furious he wasn’t instantly granted a re-match with Darren “Thunder” Russell. He informed PWP that he plans to address the crowd, the locker room, Darren “Thunder” Russell, and anyone else who will listen on September 20th.

Wrestling Legend “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton Will Appear!

Pro Wrestling Phoenix is proud to welcome one of the all time greats on September 20th, the one and only “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton! Bobby is a former MULTI time NWA/WCW Tag Team Champion, a former WCW United States Champion, and a man who has been managed by two of the best managers of all time, Jim Cornette (as part of the legendary Midnight Express) and Paul Heyman (as part of the Dangerous Alliance). Mr. Eaton will be on hand to meet and greet all the awesome fans of PWP, so don’t miss your chance to meet an absolute icon of the wrestling business on September 20th!

The 2014 Bobby Eaton Experience

Good day MWR fans, as you know our website supports wrestling’s top stars today, but we always respect those that paved the way in the great sport called pro wrestling. In 2014, we have been fortunate to have one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of the modern era make his way to several of the promotions in the Midwest. The man that I speak of is none other than Beautiful Bobby Eaton, who not only was one half of the Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Stan Lane)and an excellent singles wrestler to boot.

I grew up with wrestling in the 80’s and early 90’s with Eaton involved in some truly exciting matches with the Rock and Roll Express, the Steiner Brothers and a truly classic War Games matches. During his time with World Championship Wrestling, Eaton was an original “Heyman guy” with the Dangerous Alliance along with Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, WCW TV Champion Steve Austin and Larry Zbyszko.

The truth of the matter for this generation of fans he does not get the respect that he deserves due to the fact that he was never a WWE star. Thankfully, I have been told that for $9.99 you can watch some classic Eaton matches from the past to discover that he was as good as many of the stars that are in their Hall of Fame.


Eaton has made his way to the MWR coverage area for World League Wrestling and Global Wrestling Federation in the past month and is slated to be in Fenton, Missouri for Dynamo Pro Wrestling this Saturday Night.

On Saturday September 20th, Eaton will be making his way to Pro Wrestling Phoenix in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Earlier that day, wrestlers will have the opportunity to train with Beautiful Bobby Eaton.

Now the two men collide in what is sure to be a memorable contest! Branden Juarez helped bring Russell into professional wrestling, and he has sworn now to remove him from it! Will Russell be another victim of Juarez, or will he enjoy the biggest win of his career and succeed in his very first Pro Wrestling Phoenix Heavyweight Championship match? Round Robin Challenge with the Pro Wrestling Phoenix Tag Team Championship on the line!

As Pro Wrestling Phoenix continues to revolutionize tag team wrestling with one amazing contest after another, we like to bring new ideas to the table for our fans as well as test the limits of our athletes. We present the Round Robin Challenge, a series of 3 matches throughout the night, pitting 3 tag teams against each other. If one team can defeat both of the other teams, they will be the winners of the Challenge! As an added bonus, the PWP Tag Team Championship is on the line throughout the tournament! During last month’s Phoenix Challenge, Tony Cortez had all but eliminated L-Ray, when his manager Axel Greece pulled Cortez out to the floor with him, causing Cortez to be eliminated from the Phoenix Challenge and possibly costing him a title shot. Now with an axe to grind, Cortez looks for revenge against the Greece Pit!
