Out of respect for the arrival of The Nature Boy Ric Flair making his way to World League Wrestling this coming Saturday in Eldon Missouri we are going to have WLW- Harley Race –Ric Flair Week at MWR.
All week long we will feature matches, artwork from MWR artist and contest and much more with Race, Flair and WLW.
This Saturday is a weekend that you will not want to miss in the least so I highly urge you to be a part of history when Ric Flair comes to Harley Race’s WLW in Eldon Missouri.
Let us start with part 1 of their classic match in 1983 at Flair for the Gold….. If you do not have some of their matches in your collection then I urge you to do so.
World Wrestling Entertainment has just purchased a Banquet table for the 2011 reunion. That means, 10 banquet tickets have been purchased! Who will be the recipient of these tickets? TEN MAJOR STARS! These ten names will not be released unless the Executive Board makes that decision. But from the names I’m hearing…. All I can report right now is WOW!!!!!!!!!
Two of the top young wrestlers in the Midwest will travel to Japan to work for Pro Wrestling Noah this coming month.
Trevor Murdock can be seen tonight at Metro Pro Wrestling a week prior to his return to Japan. Murdock has worked for Pro Wrestling Noah in the past before becoming an household name with WWE. Trevor is a current WLW Champion and a challanger for the Metro Pro TV title.
Brian Breaker is one of the top young stars in the sport today. A graduate of Harley Race’s WLW, he has been both a WLW Tag Champion with Dinn T. Moore and defeating “Superstar” Steve Fender for the WLW Heavyweight Championship.
Breaker standing at an awesome 6’3 and 255 pounds he is able to overpower his opponents while using the mat skills that Harley Race taught him to end a match in a hurry.
We would like to congratulate and send our best wishes too two of the very best in the Midwest as they invade Japan.
This past weekend in Mt Pulaski Illinois, Pro Wrestling Epic brought to their fans once again some of the biggest and most talented names in the sport today for an action filled evening.
Prior to the evening MWR’S Dubray Tallman caught up with “Mean” Mason Beck to get his thoughts on his upcoming match with the PWE Champion The Mississippi Madman in a Steel Chain match….in the first of many surprises as the challenger Beck was ending his promo let’s find out which former WWE star showed up.
After some big matches that saw young Evan Money defeat Jordan McEntyre,
Alexander Rudolph over power David Osbourne,
Krotch taking down Eric Allen.
We got to see the grudge match between PWE US Champ Blake Steel and former champ Brandon Aarons. A hard hitting match that is far from over as Aarons won by DQ when Steels manager Melody interfered.
Prior to intermission we were shocked to see Jimmy Jacobs, who has torn in up at Ring of Honor, , Evolve, AAW (just to name a few) came into the ring to confront Jordan McEntyre. McEntyre had came back to the ring to taunt the crowd some more for his own amusement. After he disposed of loud mouth McEntyre he let the crowd why in fact he was there know that he was signed for Pro Wrestling’s tournament on April 29th which has been named the Epic 8.
With Jacobs signed it will be truly exciting to see who else will be signed in what could very well become something truly special.
When we came back the Pro Wrestling Epic the tag team belts was vacated by former champ Mephisto and his tag partner Kurt Styles who was not in the building. In a big match up that saw the Hooligans earning the belts in a win against Brandon Espinosa and Ace Hawkins.
Afterwards Espinosa turned on his partner, even adding insult to injury when the Hooligans took part in the beat down on Hawkins. Once again the talented Jacobs came to the ring this time the man to feel his wrath was Brandon Espinosa.
In one night the PWE fans was able to see a glimpse of what is to come on April 29th.
AJ Smooth defeated a tough Knight Wagner as we geared for the main event.
In the main event we got to see Mason Beck and the Mississippi Madman go at each other in a Steel Chain match.
Throughout the match the sheer power of both men caused the chain to break loose. Blow after blow, back and forth the Madman and Beck went at it.
In the end it would be the power the Madman who would stop Beck from making the final touch of the ring post and retain his PWE Championship.
The show was over but we were far from done as the MWR Wrestler of the Night ,Evan Money had worn our t-shirt to the ring. Prior to the start of his match he threw it out to the Goldman family from Bloomington, IL. Money was more than willing to take the time to meet his young fan after the show.
After much hard work throughout the night we were honored to get words from Jimmy Jacobs as he gave us his thoughts on Pro Wrestling Epic’s Epic 8 on April 29th in Mt Pulaski Illinois.
Missouri Wrestling Revival posted last week the shocking developments of Ron Powers turning his back his good friend Danny Boy Hawkins during a special presentation of the trophy honoring Hawkins for winning the Classic Wrestling Championship tournament in January 2011.
Lets get one thing perfectly clear. If it wasn’t for Me, Danny Boy and Gary Jackson would of never wrestled outside of Missouri. Hey, I’m not taking anything away from these guys. They are tough competitors, but I was, am, and will always be, steps ahead of these guys. I have forgotten more about this business than they will ever know.
I’ve held titles in almost every state throughout the 90’s and the early 2000’s. I had more gold in my trophy case, than King Tut was buried with. My son used to ask me, Dad, how did we get all these nice things? How come we get new cars every year? And my typical answer was “because son, your dad is a winner”.
I had reign over every promotion I was with. This is how I got my “friends” booked. Of course I had my reasons for booking them too. Danny would carry my bags and keep fat chicks away, and Gary would do my wash and do what he does best…..polish my belts. Be careful what you wish for fellas. I WILL SHOW NO REMORSE
–Ron Powers
