Once Again, With a Little Help From His Friends Ricky Cruz Captures Another Championship

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 17, 2014

deGWF Aug 2014WM-545

2014 has been a rough year for many promoters and wrestlers in the Midwest, thanks to one man. That man is the former fan favorite “The King of Chaos” Ricky Cruz who has been making his presence known in huge matches, first by knocking off Jake Dirden for the Dynamo Pro Wrestling Championship, then he did the unthinkable when he was able to send Ron Powers out of SICW for the remainder of the year by defeating the former Classic Wrestling Champion in East Carondelet, Illinois.

Recently, Cruz outsmarted Dynamo Pro’s office when he enlisted the former MWR Wrestler of the Year, Brandon Espinosa, to pull a fast one during a DPW Tag Team elimination match for the titles. During a key moment in the match it looked as if Espy and Cruz had problems and decided to exit the match only to come back at the end of the match to pin Rocket Mapache and Jackal after they had pinned the Black Hand Warriors to become the champs. Cruz kept Jackal out of the match outside the ring as Espinosa hit a jumping DDT to claim the DPW Tag Team Championship.

Just a week later MWR was on hand for Global Wrestling Federation’s finals for the first ever GWF Champion. Jaysin Strife was able to move to the finals when he defeated the Iceman and earn the opportunity to meet Cruz in the finals. Strife is one of the premier wrestlers in Iowa, and looked to capture his first title in KC. The two battle back and forth, but just as Cruz looked to be in deep trouble and Strife going to the top rope, Geek Singh entered from the back to cause Strife to lose his balance and turn the tide on the match. Moments later, the match was over and Cruz had stolen another Championship.

GWF returns on September 27, GWF returns to the Independence Guard Armory.

Dynamo Pro Wrestling Fooled By Ricky Cruz and Brandon Espinosa

From Patrick Brandmeyer

Heavyweight Champion “The King Of Chaos” Ricky Cruz & Brandon Espinosa(w/ Lucy Mendez) won a four-way dance with The Bite Club(Rocket Mapache & Jackal), The Black Hand Warriors(Michael Magnuson & David DeLorean)(C)(w/ Travis Cook), and The Bumrush Brothers(“The Don Mega” Shorty Biggs & Outtkast) to win the Tag Team Titles. Cruz & Espinosa couldn’t get along in the early stages of the match, but they were able to eliminate the Bumrush Brothers when Espy pinned Outtkast after a jumping DDT. The tension reached a fever pitch when Espinosa walked away from the match and Ricky & Lucy followed him to the backstage area…that seemed to leave the match between the reigning champions and the new duo of Mapache & Jackal. The titleholders seemed to have the advantage, but Jackal countered a Doomsday Device attempt by victory-rolling DeLorean for the flash pin! It seemed as though The Bite Club had won the Tag Team Titles, but Cruz & Espinosa were never officially eliminated…Cruz attacked Mapache at ringside and Espinosa jumped the guardrail, surprising Jackal with the jumping DDT and scoring the pin!

A Celebration at SICW as Heath Hatton Becomes the Classic Wrestling Champion

A rowdy crowd celebrated the huge moment at SICW as fan favorite Heath Hatton dethrone Travis Cooks Champion “The Iron Man” Ken Kasa for the CWC title. Kasa had been the champion since defeating Ricky Cruz for the title, then he proceeded to defend the belt a record 13 times tying the man that he had defeated for the belt Cruz for that distinction.

Heath Hatton has had a red hot summer and was able to prove that he is truly one of the top stars in the Midwest today.

The hard part for Hatton will be able to retain the title as the SICW locker room will now be on the hunt to be the man to end his hot streak.

MWR would like to congratulate Heath Hatton on his historic accomplishment and we encourage you to purchase your tickets for his first title match and to meet the legend “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff.

“The King of Chaos” Ricky Cruz Knocks Off Jake Dirden for the Dynamo Pro Championship

Posted by flairwhoooooo on May 13, 2014

 photo ricky7_zps776cf662.jpg

Ricky Cruz was true to his word in Glen Carbon when he was able to dethrone Jake Dirden for the Dynamo Pro Wrestling Championship. Ricky Cruz has long been known for his wrestling ability, but the former fan favorite has shown that he is vicious and lethal in bruising battles that have left him and his opponent bloody and battered.

On May 10th the Sports Academy, Ricky Cruz and the Sexiest Female in the Midwest, Lucy Mendez created mayhem throughout the match. Referee Patrick Hook accidentally got knocked down, Dirden looked to have everything in control as he had Cruz reeling, he put his focus on the devilish Mendez. Shockingly out from the back came “The Belt Collector” Jeremy Wyatt with a chair in hand. Wyatt delivered an explosive shot with the chair but somehow Dirden was able to survive….for the moment.

With the replacement referee Michael Crase trying to maintain order, Mendez was once again a distraction allowing Wyatt to strike again, this time with the Dynamo Pro Wrestling Championship belt. Within in moments, the ref was counting to three crowning Cruz as the new Dynamo Pro Champion. It was total bedlam at the Sports Academy as the fans were in shock and dismay.
