Eric Allen is now the hunted this Saturday when Ring of Honor superstar Michael Elgin looks to destroy the hometown favorite in front of a capacity crowd.

Less than two weeks ago Wood River, Illinois was rockin’ when Allen met the former ROH World Champion Davey Richards, in the biggest house of the company that has proclaimed 2013 the year of MECW.

Photobucket

This coming weekend the card is once again stacked as Davey Richards returns to meet the “Shogun” Chris L.O.G.A.N.
Can L.O.G.A.N withstand the onslaught of one of pro wrestling’s fiercest strikers?

Also on tap will be two former MWR Wrestler of the Years, Mark Sterling and Mike Sydal in a four way match that will also feature Sir Bradley Charles and ROH Star Kyle O’Reilly.

Buddy Roberts Jr. will be put to the test when he goes one on one against Tony Kozina.

Plus Mauler McDarby will try to offset the power of JOEY.

This and much more this Saturday night when MECW returns to WoodRiver, Illinois at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

MECW is blazing hot in 2013 as some of the biggest stars in the world will be making their way to Woodriver, Illinois within one month.

Photobucket

Could Eric Allen look above and see Davey Richard explode onto him as Kevin Steen did in this match? If so then someone else may have to step up to meet Elgin on the 9th, but Allen will look to avoid this scene and bring the pain to the former Ring of Honor Worlds Champion. Photo Credit Scott Finkelstein

First off, in the BIGGEST match in the history of the company the man many people believe to be the best in the World, Davey Richards will go one on one with the MECW Champion Eric Allen in a non-title match up. Missouri Wrestling Revival was excited to announce at the first of 2012, that the newest promotion in the MWR coverage area was none other than St Louis Anarchy. SLA is a branch of Texas promotion Texas Anarchy Pro Wrestling and is filled with some of the top stars in the country today.

As the time grew closer to the date of the show, it was easy to tell that this was going to be a don’t miss show with stars from ROH. St. Louis and Texas all coming together for an exciting night of action, proving that SLA in 2012 was going to be an exciting promotion to keep an eye on.

Though we have not being do complete show recaps of late( with the exception of the DVD review of AAPW’S MAIN EVENT due to the fact that they sent us one to review) I wanted to show SLA the respect of at least one complete photo recaps of their first show. I personally love doing them but with the time I have in my life right now I can’t do them for every show. Still for fans in and out of St Louis this recap is for you. A great show from top to bottom with not only one but two MOY possibilities in my honest opinion between ACH and TJ Perkins and the tag team match between ROH World Champion Davey Richards and Kyle O’Riley against Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett that you will sure want to buy on DVD when it comes out.

Thanks to our friend Patrick Brandmeyer for detailed results for a spectacular show, I am happy to share with you some of the awesome action via photos from an epic night of St Louis Anarchy’s “Gateway to DANARCHY

Walsh didn’t know why Gelistico had done what he did, but he made a pin cover…for two. Walsh would go on to win with the cobra clutch slam to retain his title…but it looks like his issue with Gelistico isn’t over yet.

MWR Trading card #64 Michael Elgin

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 20, 2012

Photobucket

Missouri Wrestling Revival is excited to announce one of the youngest and toughest wrestlers in the sport today as part of our MWR Trading set, “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin.

Canada has a long history of producing some of the top wrestlers in the world, and soon you will be adding the name Elgin to that list.

Many fans have fallen in love with the man many call the “Canadian Crazy Horse”, with a body that resembles the “Incredible Hulk” he is able to absorb punishment and deliver it tenfold.

Elgin may appear to be just another muscle head his opponents have learned the hard way that he delivers explosive moves with a true scientific wrestling background in the ring. Elgin started his training at the young age of 14, and has made his way to the Midwest on multiple occasions to improve that much better at Harley Race’s World League Wrestling’s annual week long camp that includes instructors from both WWE and Japan’s Pro Wrestling Noah.

Today he is a key member of Truth Martini’s House of Truth with former Ring of Honor World Champion Roderick Strong. Matches in 2011, saw him back down from no one as he went to war with the likes of Kyle O’Reilly, Chris Hero, El Generico, and Eddie Edwards.

Elgin made the House of Truth proud on November 18, 2011 during the Ring of Honor’s Survival of the Fittest tournament in a six man elimination match pitting Jay Briscoe vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Mark Briscoe vs. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Roderick Strong.

After former ROH World Champ Eddie Edwards took out the Briscoe’s Brothers, he was able to defeat Strong after some miscommunication from teammates Elgin and Strong. Elgin would get retribution when he delivered a massive clothesline on Edwards.

That left the young Kyle O’Reilly alone with the monster Elgin. O’Reilly would not go down without a fight and was able to go for a number of submissions including a guillotine and an armbar on Elgin looking for the all-important win. In the end, the power of Elgin would be too much for O’Reilly as Elgin delivered sit down powerbomb for his biggest win to date.

With that win he is guaranteed a shot at the ROH World Championship in 2012 thus making quite possibly making 2012 the year of the Unbreakable Michael Elgin.

Ring of Honor electrifies ST Louis, then party like rock stars with Party Animal Radio and MWR.

By Brian Kelley

On the way to cover the red hot promotion in Kansas City Saturday to cover Metro Pro Wrestling I received a call from our good friends at Party Animal Radio. If anything that I have learn from the past is that when I hear from them, good times are just around the corner.

With Ring of Honor returning to ST Louis at the Collinsville Gateway Center, Dubray and I was already planning on checking out the hard hitting action with our good friend promoter Herb Simmons, Keith Smith and many other friends.

After hearing, the good news that there was going to be a special MEET/GREET/AND EAT!!! With the stars from Ring of Honor! I was on the road so I got on the wire to get ahold of my good friend Kari Williams to post the news straight to MWR. For a measly ten dollars fans could have a cheeseburger and fries with the stars from Ring of Honor!

Still the fans were treated to a Sunday matinée of Ring of Honor wrestling. My friends know I love wrestling but for me to miss Sunday NFL football, the show will have to be a guaranteed good time. With ROH World Champion Davey Richards announced to be in action that was all the info I need to know that the TIVO would have to tape the Denver Bronco game.

Photobucket

Pro Wrestling Phoenix crew made the trip from Council Bluffs Iowa to check out the red hot ROH action.

Photobucket

Fans have fun before the ROH show.

Ring of Honor brings to the ring no nonsense, hard hitting action the way it is supposed to be. Filled with an awesome roster including the ROH Champ Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas formally of WWE fame as well as former TNA star and current ROH TV Champion Jay Lethal mixed in with the likes of MsChif , El Generico, Jimmy Jacobs, Steve Corino, Future Shock, Michael Elgin, and Tommaso Ciampa including a killer main event as the All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King) proved that they were real when they defeated The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards).
A frog splash from Rhett Titus and a shooting star press from Kenny King that allowed King to pin Edwards for the victory. Mutual respect all around after the match, but Edwards told his partner “See you at Final Battle” iPPV on December 23, 2011 – 7:30pm Manhattan Center (Hammerstein Ballroom) , New York , New York.

The 2011 Cauliflower Alley Club 2011 Red Bastein Friendship Award recipient Darla Staggs was in attendance for her very first ROH experience. Darla has been a fan and supporter of pro wrestling for many years, when I asked her what she thought of the show she quickly replied “I Haven’t seen wrestling like this in a long time….fantastic show!!!”

Photobucket

Darla Staggs is in the clutches of 25 year wrestling vet Keith Smith and his lovely wife Michelle.

This coming from a woman who was live for many of the great Wrestling at the Chase shows in ST Louis’s golden era of pro wrestling is quite a compliment.

I was happy to run into “ECW Original” Angel after the show, Angel is looking in awesome shape and ready to run over the competition and a ROH run for the King of the Streets would be one that I would be very interested in seeing myself.

Photobucket

Young rising local star Aiden Young may not have a title yet but still has a beautiful women to come check out ROH with.

Photobucket

SICW Promoter Herb Simmons was on hand to check out ROH. Fans can check out SICW this Saturday in East Carondelet Il along with CWC Champ Ron Powers.

Also in attendance was one of the top tag teams today the Kentucky Buffett of Alex Castle and Matt Cage, Aiden Young former GCW Star Mike Sharona and the Manager of Champions Travis Cook.

Then it was off for ROH –Party Animal Radio after party 2011, if you missed the last ROH after party click here for all the great times from 7-23-2010.

This time the party was at the 5th Quarter Bar & Grill and as usual, we got there early and sat with our friends Drew, Gary and Ben while waiting on the ROH Stars to show up as they showered and if they were like us, got lost in the big streets of Collinsville Illinois.

While we waited the waiter and waitress worked hard to take the fans orders and drinks. I was stunned to hear that their special on that night was Natural Light for only $1.00, so for $22.00 I got Dubray and I 2 hamburgers and a beer, and though some of you may be thinking that “oh yuck” Natty light but I actually like it so the night was starting off right.

Photobucket

These fans traveled from Quincy Illinois for Ring of Honor and take in the after party afterwards. Here they get an awesome picture taken with the top women wrestler ever , (Of course we are 100% biased as well as correct :)) MsChif.

The first ROH star to make her way to the bar was MsChif, who was game for some food herself with some friends. I spoke to some really cool fans that had driven from Quincy Illinois to check out ROH and was interested in getting their picture taken with Your Soul’s Tormentor – MsChif. Before She left she was more than happy to take her photo with the group of friends who made their way to check her out in another win in her hometown of St Louis against Mia Yim(w/ Prince Nana, Robert Evans, & Ernesto Osiris) via Desecrator.

Photobucket

The wrestlers takes their seats to sign autographs and take photos with some of the very best in the world today.

Fans could line up for pictures and autographs with the stars such as Kenny King, Eddie Edwards, Charlie Hass and Rhett Tittus.

The service was awesome at the 5th Quarter Bar & Grill and the food was maybe the best that I have ever had at a small bar. When I asked the waitress who they would choose a wrestler to have their picture taken with, they quickly giggled and chose the former ROH World Champion Eddie Edwards.

Photobucket

My friend Darla Staggs asked me last week at a show if I could build a promotion around one wrestler today who would it be. My answer Eddie Edwards. Edwards has the talent charisma and skills for many years to come along with one great match after another . Here he gets all the love from the girls in the house.

Photobucket

GOOD TIMES!!!

Photobucket

Has Edwards met his match???

Edwards had been smiles all night with the  girls,Edwards the number one contender for the ROH title played around with funny poses along with the girls for MWR.

Photobucket

Awesome friends of MWR along with Ricky Cruz, International superstar (on the far right), see Cruz in action in East Carondelet Illinois for SICW this Saturday.

At one table was our friend Keith Smith with family and friends along with rising star in the Midwest Ricky Cruz chilling out with laughs and great food.

While walking around I noticed a couple that were just enjoying a beer, so I introduced myself and asked if they had ever heard of MWR. The couple stated they didn’t even know wrestling was in town and really wasn’t a fan but was kind enough to take part in the MWR Photo recap of the party. Her friend wasn’t interested in taking photos but she was able to get a photo with Charlie Hass and Delirious. Hopefully, the next time ROH comes to town, they will check out the show to see just how talented these guys were.

Photobucket

Dubray and POO DOO

MWR’S Dubray Tallman was even able to find local wrestling legend Poo Doo the Cow, coming out of the farm to get his drink on.

Photobucket

CHEERS

I am not going to lie to you; I was amazed that there were so few fans that took the opportunity to come to this event, , but I can understand when there was such short notice on the event but it was easily the best value for your money all year. The ROH Stars even after a show the night before in Louisville, KY and less than 24 hours made their way to STL only to give a 110 percent in the ring then make their way to be kind to each and every one of the fans in that bar giving them memories that will last a lifetime.

Let’s take a look at the rest of this awesome night of meet and greet with the ROH Stars and fans.

MWR Event Report:
Lethal Wrestling Alliance on September 20, 2008

By Kari Williams

On September 20 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O’ Fallon, IL, the LWA brought yet another night of incredible, fast-paced action for all of the 93 fans in attendance, including the Superfans.

Six-Man-Mayhem: Shamus O’ Flannery v. Mephisto v. Michael Morbid v. Adam Rich v. “Thee” Brandon Espinosa v. Billy McNeil

Bodies flew every which way in the opening bout of the evening as these six men battled it out for an opportunity at the LWA Medallion. Every wrestler showcased his physical attributes, proving that they all deserved the win. This mayhem kicked off the show in tremendous fashion and set the stage for what would come. In the closing moments, Space Station Eleven’s own Billy McNeil pulled off an impressive victory.

Dorian Victor & Darin Childs v. “Spoiled” Steven Kennedy & JC Bravo

Two IWA-Texas stars, Childs and Bravo made their debuts in LWA. Both had a good showing, despite the dislike showed by the Superfans. Victor and Kennedy worked as cohesive units with their respective partners, showcasing the level of talent on the roster. In typical fashion, Victor and Childs attempted to cheat their way to victory on numerous occassions. However, it was not to be.

Luke Roberts’ Statement

Roberts made a point to come out and let all of the fans, as well as those in the locker room, know the consequences that may occur throughout the evening. He stated that if even one man from either the Bearded Men from Space Station Eleven or the Submission Squad came to the ring for any reason other than his match, every member from both factions would be immediately suspended for 60 days.

“Blackheart” Johnny Vinyl & “Spitfire” Davey Vega v. Evan Gelistico & Gary the Barnowl

After the no-contest in August between the Submission Squad and the Bearded Men, both teams sought vengeance. Gelistico and Gary dominated the majority of the match, which caused Vega to say “What you don’t know is that he’s got this perfectly under control,” referring to Vinyl, who had suffered some brutal punishment. The outcome of the match proved that Vinyl truly did have everything under control, as he knocked out Gelistico with a crowbar.

Michael Elgin v. Andrew Davis

In a battle of newcomers, neither man had the ability to win over the crowd, despite their athleticism and ability in the ring. Elgin and Davis wrestled a solid match filled with technical prowess, but with neither suceeding in gaining the fans acceptance, one could hardly know whom he or she wanted to win.

Dingo v. JT Lamotta

This fast-paced bout began with an impressive display of chain wrestling, immediately followed by a standoff between Dingo and the IWA-Texas star. The match showcased the greatest talent in the area, and beyond, giving all in attendance a look at the best wrestling in the area. Lamotta showed his skill and tenacity, and although he came up short, proved that he warrants a return to the LWA.

First Blood Match for the Heavyweight Title: “Future” Donovan Ruddick v. XXX Jordan Lacey

Ruddick and Lacey tore each other apart in their quests to retain or gain the title. They literally held nothing back as a ladder, a steel chair, a street sign, and even broken glass were brought into the mix. At one point, Lacey pummeled Ruddick with consecutive chair shots to the back. The broken glass became Ruddick’s downfall, despite him being the one to bring it into the mix.

The Aftermath

Only seconds after the bell rang, the Submission Squad attacked Lacey, prompting the Bearded Men—and the rest of the locker room—to come to the aid of their respective parties. Luke Roberts was at a loss of what to do, considering his threat earlier in the evening. During the ruckus, Lacey suffered an injury causing the show to end with a somber feeling.
