Marni Gras Becomes the First Ever CCW Women’s Champion

Nikki Lane and Marni Gras squared off to see who would be crowned the first ever CCW Women’s Champion. These two have had an intense rivalry going back to February with constant interferences in matches and confrontations in between. With gold on the line, you KNEW that these ladies would be bringing it and they did just that. It showcased the strength of Nikki Lane against the speed and guts of Marni Gras. This match started out in a flurry as Nikki hit a neckbreaker on Marni, but the resilient Marni fought back through a barrage of forearms and head slams to the turnbuckle to hit a beautiful hurricanrana off the top rope. Marni draped Nikki over the middle rope for her trademark rope assisted armbar, yet Nikki was able to endure it, find a way out and turn the momentum to her side with a sit out facebuster. And this would be the pace of the entire match!! Nikki hit a top rope side slam, only for Marni Gras to rally back and push through to hit a flipping neckbreaker. These women were pushing each other to their limits in pursuit of the gold and they were pulling out all stops! At one point the action spilled outside and Nikki flung Marni Gras into the side of the ring! We thought that Nikki hit her so hard that Marni Gras exploded into a pile of glitter. She was nowhere to be found! But, soon we realized it was only a trick, as Marni Gras came out from under the ring to surprise Nikki! But, this was short lived as Nikki, furious at this point, hurled Marni back into the ring and hit her signature Princess Plex!! It was all over at this point, but she was too close to the ropes! Marni Gras got her legs on the rope to break the pinfall!

At this point, Nikki was beyond frustrated as she let senior referee Kelly know that she wasn’t happy with that call to break the pin. And in that moment, Marni Gras, using her last bit of energy, rolled up Nikki into the small package. 1-2-3!!

We have the FIRST CCW Women’s Champion!! Marni Gras has taken the belt!!! What an AMAZING match by these two women!!! This puts Marni Gras on top of the mountain, but breathing down her neck will be Nikki Lane, Sweet Sarah Summers and whoever wants to step up to the champion.

Wow what a great way to start your championship reign!!

The Miami Herald showcases Midwest star Santana G

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 22, 2010

Santana already with CCW gold, TNA role
BY JIM VARSALLONE
JVARSALLONE@MIAMIHERALD.COM

Being second or third generation can help get the foot in the door, but how far it goes is up to the individual.

Ted DiBiase, Huskey Harris, Michael McGillicutty, Natalya Neidhart, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, DH Smith, Tamina, the Usos are some of today’s bright young stars who have the wrestling pedigree and drive to reach another level.

Newcomer Santana, also multi-generation, strives to reach it, too.

• Growing up in Belleview, Florida, near Ocala and north of Orlando, Santana Garrettis second generation.

Her family tree does not have the universal branchings like those mentioned above, but it does generate admiration and respect from those working in the business.
Her ties to the sport cross through her father, TNT Keny G, a noted indie wrestler, trainer and promoter.

TNT Keny G, who currently runs High Voltage Wrestling, based in St. Louis, has Florida connections and trained his daughter, Santana, a former high school cheerleader and flag football player who also danced.

She said: “Because of my dad, I got into wrestling when I was really young, watching it with him.”

Keny G had a wrestling school in Ocala.

“I used to watch, get in the ring, take some bumps,” she said. “Eventually, he started wrestling. He got in it late but started running his own promotion, High Voltage Wrestling in Central Florida, and he [later] moved to St. Louis and has been running it out there.”

Santana began training there.

10 questions with the tallest female wrestler in the WORLD “Isis” The Amazon

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 19, 2010

In less than 2 weeks the world’s tallest female wrestler will make her debut in St Louis at NWA Dynamo/ High Voltage Wrestling. I have long to see “ISIS” the Amazon for quite some time as MWR has kept a close eye with her fellow Coastal Championship Wrestling colleague the CAC and HVW Champion Kahagas.

On March 27th in Granite City, Illinois you will have a chance to see the best in the world today MsChif team up with CAC Women’s champion to take on ISIS and Jessika Haze.

If you’re a fan of women’s wrestling then you will not want to miss this first ever encounter with ISIS and the NWA Women’s and Shimmer World Champion MsChif!!

Tickets only $10.00 each with kids 7 and under Free!!

Till then let’s enjoy 10 questions with ISIS

1) Have you always been a fan of wrestling and if so who did u look up?

I was a die hard fan of Chyna (go women of dominance!) and Chris Jericho, I always appreciated the innovative matches Jericho had.

2) How did you go about getting in the sport?

I was working for a corporation at a trade show in South Beach and came across the Main Event Training Academy, formerly known as Coastal Championship Wrestling.

3) At this point of your career what has been your personal highlight?

My FCW evaluation with WWE after just 10 months of training.

4) Who was your first match against and what was it like stepping the ring for the first time?

Calypso and her two “henchmen”. I was wearing what I like to call the bumble bee outfit, since then I’ve upgraded to actual original gear I have drawn and had made. Stepping in the ring for the first time in front of a crowd was a great experience. I had so much fun I just knew I had to do it again and again and get better.

5) What do you think some of the obstacles of being so tall and getting into the sport has been?

Learning how to bump, lol. Hip toss. Controlling the match.

6) What has surprised you the most about being a professional wrestler ?

The reality of back stabbers and prima donnas that come along with it.

7) If you were asked to be at Wrestlemania who would like to go up against and destroy and why?

Chyna- I was an avid fan and would love that opportunity. She was so bad-ass!

8) We have a lot of Juggalo’s and Juggalette’s in the STL that love wrestling and you have worked with the Insane Clown Posse in the past. I checked out your website where you stated that it was an awesome experience and you looked forward to working with them again. What exactly did you do there?

Well, I’ll be at JCW this weekend, the 20th, performing for them again. I wrestled 3 puny guys and threw their lightweight asses around like rag dolls.

9) “Where can people go to see your matches, videos, photos, or even to book you for an event?”
http://www.isistheamazon.com/

10) One of the top women wrestlers in the sport, MsChif will be in the house on March 27th when you make your debut at HVW/NWA Dynamo. If you should happen to go face to face with the Women’s Champion of the World, in your mind what do you see happing?

I have seen her work and respect her. I can see an awesome match occurring and your’s truly coming out on top as always. I belong on top, little girls such as the said belong underneath me. She will definately be “kissing the sky” and laying out for the 1, 2, 3 when she lands.

High Voltage Wrestling Cocked Locked and Loaded This Saturday!!! Mschif vs Santana G 2

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 18, 2010

St Louis’s sweetheart Santana G will be coming home this Saturday at High Voltage Wrestling’s Cocked Locked and Loaded, fresh off of her appearance at TNA on Spike TV. Wrestling fans join me in Granite City Illinois to welcome her back and to cheer her on in her rematch with the greatest women’s wrestler in world today, MsChif.

Yes, you heard me right tonight MWR got confirmation from HVW’S TNT Keny G that it will be Santana G vs. MsChif 2 this Saturday!!!

The NWA Women’s World Champion and SHIMMER Champion MsChif will meet the young up and comer Santana G once again.(Photo Credit Michael R Van Hoogstraat)

Last December one of the most popular wrestlers in the Midwest, Santana G tested herself against the very best and I have been excited about a rematch ever since. Santana G just recently defended her Coastal Championship Women’s wrestling title against Jessika Haze in Florida and is hoping that her extensive training and experience from last December will help her shock the wrestling world by beating the NWA Women’s and SHIMMER Champion.

This weekend marks the return of the HVW Champion Kahagas who is celebrating a new titles he gain the CCW Championship by beating former WWE Star Scotty 2 Hotty !!! In December the Kansas City Killers Mark Sterling and Jeremy Wyatt made their way to Florida and jumped Kahagas at CCW and making matters worse, they videotaped it for the whole world to see. The HVW champion asked for a match with the youngest of the Killers, Pro Wrestling Illustrated Rookie of the Year and HVW Livewire Champion Mike Sydal.

Will this be a wise move for the Champ or will the young Sydal add the International Superstar Kahagas to his win column?

Wyatt and Sterling will have their own problems with the HVW Champions and the 2009 MWR Tag team of the Year Devin and Mason Cutter otherwise known as the Hooligans. Our sources states that after Kahagas got his wish to take on Sydal, the Killers demanded that their match with the Hooligans be not a tag match but in singles competition.

The Killers will look to divide and conquer one of the most dominate tag teams in wrestling today. The Hooligans will be out for blood as they try to avenge their lil brother Neil Diamond Cutter after the vicious beat down he took from the Killers after the match this past December at HVW.

It will be the 2009 MWR Wrestler of the Year Mark Sterling taking on Devin Cutter while the Rebel Jeremy Wyatt will meet Mason Cutter.

Fans have been waiting for the battle of B.A.B.EWatch and it will happen when Brandon Aarons goes one on one against his former partner Brandon Espinosa. It was not to long ago that these two were predicted by many to be among the future of Tag team team wrestling in the Midwest.

I am excited about this intriguing match up between these two friends that got much more important by TNT Keny G’s announcement that it will be a number one contenders match for Mike Sydal’s HVW Livewire Championship in the future.

Also on the card will be The Magic Mans new protégé The Dixieland Destroyer, Alexander Rudolph, Dan the Man, Eric Allen and much more.

Jaysin Static hopes to electrify the Midwest

Posted by reimaginejournalism on June 14, 2009

By Kari Williams

Jaysin Static’s wrestling career began two years ago at the urging of one of Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling (MMWA-SICW) mainstays—Shaft. In a relatively short time, Static has traveled across three states with hopes of learning from everyone he encounters.

“[Shaft] told me to come down to a show when I started working [with him], and it was all she wrote from there. I started coming down and watching as a fan and finally decided to get into it,” Static said.

During his time in wrestling, Static has already discovered what he considers one of the most important aspects.

“Respect. We all go out and do the same thing to put a show on for the fans. My main thing is, I’m going to respect you if you respect me. Wrestling’s been around many, many, many years, and I respect everybody and everyone that’s ever been in it because if it wasn’t for them, there wouldn’t be me. There wouldn’t be anyone else,” Static said.

Although Static works predominantly with MMWA-SICW, his journey has taken him to Heartland Championship Wrestling, Juggalo Championship Wrestling and Colisuem Championship Wrestling (CCW) based out of Indiana. While with JCW, Static had the opportunity to step in the ring with one of his childhood idols on April 25, 2008.

“I grew up watching Tracy Smothers and some of the other guys that were on the [JCW] show. Raven was on the show. He was one of the main people that inspired me to [start wrestling].

“[Tracy Smothers and I] still talk every once in a while, and he just inspires me to keep doing what I’m doing… I don’t know. I can’t put it into words. It’s really hard to explain because he just [makes me want] to push harder to get to the level of where they’ve all been,” Static said.

Static looks up to every person in the business because they put their bodies on the line every time they step in the ring. Although Phil E. Blunt has been Static’s most consistent opponent, Static could not pinpoint one wrestler he would like to step in the ring with due to the vast array of talent in the area.

“There [are] so many great, talented guys in the industry, especially here in the Midwest. I really couldn’t put it into words because there [are] great guys everywhere. LWA. High Voltage [Wrestling]. Everybody’s got great wrestlers. I don’t complain about anybody. Everybody’s great in my eyes. Anybody that wants to wrestle me, come on. I’m down for anybody,” Static said.

In addition to his eagerness to wrestle whenever the opportunity presents itself, he also has a sincere appreciation for the art.

“I never stop learning. That’s the good thing about this, you never stop learning. You learn from anybody and everybody that you step in the ring with. If it’s just a regular indy guy from down here [South Broadway] or a big name veteran like Tracy Smothers, you never stop learning. You learn from everybody,” Static said.

With that, Static leaves an open challenge to anyone willing to face him—“Midwest, watch out. Jaysin Static is back, and I’ll face anyone, anywhere, any time.”
