IWAU, MMWA-SICW and MECW fans catch MWR T-shirts from Midwest Stars.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 1, 2010

By Brian Kelley

Last week was a busy week at MWR as we supported three great wrestling promotions in our coverage area.

First on Wednesday September 22 we traveled for the very first time to Olney Illinois to check out IWA Unlimited. IWAU provides the fans of Olney a FREE weekly show  each Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus filled with some of the top young talent in Illinois.

IWAU fan favorite The Intimidator came to the ring with the MWR shirt letting their fans know that we were in the house. He stated that he would give the shirt to the loudest fan but when it was hard to determine the loudest fan he closed his eyes and tuned around and threw the shirt to. IWAU Fan Jennifer I asked Jennifer who was her favorite wrestler and was not shy at all when she stated “Homicidal” Steven Davis. The Intimidator and Davis were kind enough to pose with Jennifer and her family in the ring.

Three days later on Saturday September 25th we returned to the reigning MWR Promotion of the year MMWA-SICW as they continued their fine tradition of working with the community as they teamed up with the Hillsdale Police department to provide a free outdoor show.

When I arrived I found my good friend Herb Simmons, Tim Miller and Keith Miller preparing for an exciting day of wrestling.

Not only was the fans able to watch a great wrestling show the MMWA-SICW, the Police department and the Mayor of Hillsdale offered free hotdogs, soda, and backpacks for the children.

One of the Midwest hottest young stars Ace Hawkins had a great day giving away free bicycles, backpacks, Wrestling at the Chase t-shirts and was kind enough to wear a MWR T-shirt to the ring before his match with The Mauler. Bernard Shaw JR was the lucky fan who caught the shirt from the man who debuted in ROH earlier this year.

In the house were WWE Hall of Famer and father of current WWE Champion Randy Orton, Cowboy Bob Orton.

Orton stated that was thrilled that he was happy that the community had came out, and in action were two of the greats The Gorgeous One” Gary Jackson and Ron Powers in St Louis were in action today.

Later that night, we made our way back to MECW in Wood River Illinois for a fun filled night of wrestling. MR K was absent for the night so fan favorite Shawn Santel had the honors or the stress of trying to keep Eric Allen, Chris L.O.G.A.N and Lovely Leon in check as they were up to no good all night long.

A week prior to Bailey Mannix big tag team match with partner Christopher Daniels at Windy City Pro Wrestling at Toyota Park in Chicago we were fortunate to have Mannix wear out MWR shirt to the ring and throw it out to Jesse Guffey who had came with a couple of his friends for a fun filled night.

I would like to thank each of the three promotions for their hospitality and the wrestlers that took the time to spread the word of MWR to the fans of the Midwest.

More horrors to come for 3XWrestling

Posted by flairwhoooooo on September 27, 2010

By Mark Campos

3XWrestlings “Halloween Horror 4” is just over a week away and more matches have been announced to this already spook-tacular line up. There will be scares, screams and terrors at the Des Moines Social Club on October 1St for a frightful Friday night of pro wrestling action!

A pre-show match has been announced featuring the always cocky Brady A. Dezire taking on a familiar fan favorite, Tyler Cook. Cook should be looking to gain back some momentum after missing the last few 3XW shows while Dezire will be looking for a big win that could put him on the main show. The pre-show match starts early for those who purchase tickets in advance so you do not want to miss out this awesome match up that will be featured on next month’s 3XW web show Outside the Ring. (Editors note Go to their website to check out the Brand new Outside the Ring now)

There will also be a tag team match with American Ground and Pound, featuring Nate Bash and Ben Sailer, going against the team of Sir Bradley Charles and “The American Fury” Jon West. This match could decide which of these teams should face the winner of the Tag Team title match that will also take place that night. With American Ground and Pound ranked at number two in the tag team division and Charles and West at number three these teams will give everything they got to get a title shot.

Plenty of more matches are already set for “Halloween Horror 4” including championship title bouts, grudge matches and the bone breaking, head crunching over the top battle royal! The video featured this week takes a look at last year’s battle royal at “Halloween Horror 3” and is also 3XW’s match of the month.

In addition to the pro wrestling there will also be a costume contest with prizes being given away to the top costumes during the intermission. Come out as your favorite or least favorite 3XW wrestler if you’re not afraid!

3XWrestling’s “Halloween Horror 4” will be held at the Des Moines Social Club on October 1st located at 1408 Locust Street in Des Moines, IA. Tickets can be purchased online at 3XWrestling.com or at Cup O’Kryptonite and both Jay’s CD and Hobby locations. Advance presale tickets cost $12 for adults and $6 for kids 10 and under. Ticket will also be sold the night of the show at $15 for adults, $6 for kids 10 and under and kids 3 and under are free. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the bell time being 7:30 p.m. Please no Casanova impersonations.

Trevor Murdoch breaks his silence on Lance Cade ‘I loved that man as a brother, as a friend, as an uncle, as an individual’

By GREG OLIVER – Producer, SLAM! Wrestling

When Lance Cade died on August 13th, Trevor Murdoch lost far more than a tag team partner. He lost his best friend, someone that his children called Uncle Lance.

“WWE thought they were putting two guys together so they could make a million dollars. What they didn’t know is they were putting two guys together that became best friends. And it breaks my heart every day,” Murdoch choked as he broke down in tears, “it’s hard to talk about it now, man.”

But talk about it Murdoch did.

By Brian Kelley -Owner /Editor of Missouri Wrestling Revival

While driving to the IHW show last month we were debuting the MWR Trading card featuring the one and only Tony Kozina, I thought how cool would it be to have Kozina autograph a card and give you a chance to win one on our site?

So is born the MWR Wrestler give away. How this is going to work is now and then we will give you a chance to win FREE wrestling merchandise featuring some of the top stars in the sport today.

Like I said the first ever MWR Wrestler give away is with Tony Kozina. Watch the video here and you will only have to answer two questions correctly to receive in the mail for free an autograph MWR Trading card of Tony Kozina.

Funny story, while I was taping this feature I stated that Kozina had wrestled in Japan, watch his expression when I state that, the reason? He in fact had not wrestled there before, but Kozina who is a true professional was not offended and after watching it said just to keep it the way it is, maybe for a good laugh later.

I am not the best interviewer so here are the two questions that you have to be the first to answer.

1) What Pro Wrestling Legend ‘s movie did Kozina wrestle against, that was filmed right here in the Midwest in Kansas? This event was covered extensively at MWR and a hint was during a NWA Dynamo Show.

2) Who was Kozina’s tag team partner when he won the AWA Pinnacle Tag Team titles?

Now MWR Fans, it is time to do your homework and find out the answers of these two questions. Be the first to answer then you will be the owner of a MWR Tony Kozina Trading card signed by the star himself.

Right down below your answers on LEAVE A Comment at the end of this post.

Good luck and look for more MWR Wrestler giveaway’s from your number one site that covers wrestling in the Midwest.
