BREAKING: Ace Hawkins wins MWR Missouri Title controversially in St. Louis!

Missouri Wrestling Revival was on hand for a packed house (att. 548) at the historic South Broadway Athletic Club on Feb 11th. The monster Barackus defended his Missouri Wrestling Revival MO title for the first time since defeating Brandon Espinosa in January. His opponent was dangerous “The” Ace Hawkins, who has set his sights (for quite some time) on the MWR Missouri Championship.
Early on, Barackus showed the electric crowd his awesome power and fearsome attack, as he hammered home clotheslines and bodyslams left and right. Though Hawkins’s raw talents had won him the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Rookie of the Year award in 2011, six years later he has shown that experience mixed with speed and talent is why he is still considered one of the most exciting young stars in the sport today.
During the match, Hawkins took a beating, but was able to keep his composure to stay alive, but it looked like the end was near when Barackus locked on the claw. With the force of a mac truck, Barackus lifted Hawkins up in the air and onto the mat with the clawhold slam for what looked to be the 1-2-3 from the referee Nick Ridenour and a roar of the SBAC fans.
Barackus went to celebrate his victory with the title that was handed to him. However, referee Nick Ridenour had quickly let the fans, MMWA ring announcer Ben Simon and Barackus know that Hawkins had his feet on the ropes. As the referee went to return the MWR MO title back to Ben Simon, Hawkins went low with a kick to the groin that would end Barackus’s title reign mere seconds later.
Hawkins would not be done for the night as he would later use his new belt to level the former MWR Missouri Champion Brandon Espinosa with the strap, sending a message that he is not going to fear anyone in 2017.
Hawkins is a wanted man by both the monster Barackus and the former MWR Wrestler of the Year Brandon Espionsa. First though he will have to see if he can retain his title when he travels to Warsaw, Missouri to take on HRW Mayhem Champion Justin D’Air in a title vs. title match at High Risk Wrestling this Saturday night, February 18.

Dartallion Allen Jr. Top Draw: 2016 MWR Female Wrestler of the Year Monica Passeri

Missouri Wrestling Revival is so blessed to have the talents of Dartallion Allen Jr. as a long time contributor of MWR. Wrestling fans have enjoyed his artworks on the site that is called MWR Top Draws featuring the likes of, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles , Samoa Joe as well as local stars like Gary Jay, Brandon Aarons and “Miss Natural” Heather Patera.
Dartallion Allen Jr. is set to honor each of the 2016 MWR Award recipients with their very own MWR Top Draw. The first one finished is none other than the 2016 Female Wrestler of the Year, Monica Passeri . The MWR plaque is sponsored by SICW Promoter Herb Simmons and will feature this very own artwork in the frame, so be sure to look for the presentation of the plaque in the near future at this very site.

MWR and WLW Team-up For a Dream Day for Katie Masson with Kurt Angle on March 11th

World League Wrestling and Harley Race have a long history of giving back to the community for the many years that they have been running shows around the country. In March, MWR is very proud to team-up with WLW to offer a young lady, Katie Masson a day that we hope she will cherish for years to come. Katie will be turning eight years old on March the 16th and as a gift from WLW and MWR we have invited her to come out and meet wrestling legend and 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Wrestler Kurt Angle.
She has been diagnosed with CRI DU CHAT. 5p- Syndrome is a chromosomal deletion disorder resulting in a wide spectrum of intellectual and developmental abilities that she works through every day. No More Flips – Wrestler Down!

Mason Cutter (1/2 of the Hooligans) was performing at Rockstar Pro and executed a high risk maneuver, then almost killed himself.
He broke one leg and screwed the other one up pretty bad. Wrestling is Mason’s full time job, so we’re just trying to help him get by financially while he recovers!
He’ll be out 4-6 months, so anything you can donate while he’s out will help. We love him and we know everyone else does too!
