Kansas Championship Wrestling to debut the summer of 2011

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 19, 2011

This summer I am embarking on a new business venture in a city that has lacked a professional wrestling organization for years. Kansas Championship Wrestling will debut this summer and will be based out of Wichita, KS. This will not be a ‘backyard’ federation, this will be a real promotion in real buildings in front of real crowds.

I will be looking for wrestlers, ring announcers & referees. I was hoping that maybe I could get a mention on the site just informing everyone that we will be starting and if anyone is interested in working they can E-Mail me at Lucas@kcwrestling.com

Obviously since we are not starting until this summer there is nothing for anyone to do right now but I’m just looking to get peoples information and find out who would be willing to work in this area.

Thank you for your time and if I can provide you any further information about KCW please let me know.

Ted DiBiase Jr a Hero for WLW and other events around the Midwest.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 17, 2011

By Brian Kelley

Hello wrestling fans as the good Bill Kersten would say, We are less than a week away from the WLW event that saw Ric Flair unable to make the show due to a canceled flight that could not be rescheduled.

As soon as they heard the fine people at WLW went to work to find a replacement that the fans would appreciate. In a memorable moment that I will not forget one of the greatest wrestlers of All-time Harley Race explained to the 500 plus in attendance that yes Ric Flair would not be there but current WWE Superstar and movie star Ted DiBiase JR had come to the aid of WLW, Harley and the fans by driving 343 miles from Wichita Kansas to Eldon Missouri.

Ted got on the mic to let the fans know that he knew he couldn’t “replace” the legend Ric Flair but he was happy to be there tonight to meet everyone of them and to help a man who he highly respected Harley Race. Race offered anyone that wanted it a refund of their money but no one took him up on that as they were ready for some exciting wrestling.

A touching moment indeed and with a hug from a star of today to the best of yesterday, from there the show would not slow down all night.

The WLW stars have a great mixture of young talent including Steve Fender and Mark Sterling mixed with some of the very top up and comers including Jason Jones andJeff Strong.

The ladies Stacey O’Brien and Lucy Mendez went at it with no end in sight over just who is the best in the Midwest.

NEW WLW Tag Team Champs Ethan Wright and The Cancun Kid (Photo Credit Brian Kelley)

In what may have been one of the greatest matches I have ever seen at WLW, the Cancun Kid and Ethan Wright upset the tag team champs Fender and Sterling thus ending their one year plus tag team reign. Both the Cancun Kid and Wright are two names that have a bright future in this sport.

During the night Dubray had invited her friends Tina and the birthday girl Veena for their very first wrestling match ever. The two had a blast yelling and screaming while the action went on and during the intermission got photos and pictures with the WLW stars.

The intermission went on forever as DiBiase JR who had just been in a card for over 5 hours took time to sign and take photos with each an every one of those 500 fans. I did not get a chance to talk to him myself as I didn’t want to take away from the fans but came into a night a fan of Ted” DiBiase Jr the wrestler but left that night a fan of Ted” DiBiase Jr the man .

I was also able to catch up with my friends at ICONS OF WRESTLING who had went to show Harley Race his artwork that featured Race along with 100’s of the legends of wrestling throughout the history. If you are a fan of wrestling I highly recommend you to pick up a poster for yourself at this website. His artowrk has been shown at WWE Magazine recently.

We will return to WLW as they had a strong spring set filled with some great legends of wrestling for your enjoyment.

The Trickster” Plague the HCW Heavyweight champion sent word to MWR that in Dongola IL ,HCW was able to raise over $1,100 for the eighth graders of Dongola at the recent show they did for them to help raise money for their field trip. Though this was the first time I had heard of HCW it is always refreshing to hear of wrestlers supporting our youth. Congrats to everyone at HCW and keep up the good work.

At Metro Pro Wrestling, Tyler Cook was able to capture the NWA Kansas title for the very first time. The NWA Kansas title was a belt that had eluded him for some time in his feud with #1 Brett Young but since then Young had lost to Tony Morales . Due to Tony Morales absence for the past two Metro shows he was stripped and in an exciting match with MR Saturday Night  Micahel Barry. Cook prevailed to become the NWA Kansas Champion. A huge congratulation goes out to Tyler Cook.

Metro Pro Wrestling returns on April 9th as they look to pack the house once again as that place gets louder and louder every time we go.

In Des Moines Iowa Sir Bradley Charles is on a roll as he heads to a confirmation with the 3XW Champion Brian Ash in April. Brian Ash is a scary man to say the least and SBC will need all the speed at his disposal to get the win.

MECW returns to action on March 26th for the first time this year in Woodriver Illinois . One of my favorite places to go for a show that will also feature the return of fan favorite Barry Ryte.

MMWA-SICW has seen the war explode between Ron Powers and champion Danny Boy Hawkins. Promoter Herb Simmons has sent word that their will be extra security to contain these two warriors. Congrats to Dave Vaughn for defeating Gary Jackson for the MMWA-SICW TV Championship.

New Midwest Wrestling on the 26th will be holding the Ace of Spades with a action packed night of wrestling that has fans in  Springfield being spoiled with the talent on this show.

This week at WLW the one and only New Age Outlaws will be in Richmond Missouri. The New Age Outlaws are full of charisma and will be sure to put on a great show. Speaking of Charisma no wrestlers has more than Roddy Piper. Piper will be appearing at WLW on March 25th and 26TH and fans will not want to miss the two day Harley Race invitational during those same dates.

In April some early looks at shows that you will not want to miss is IHW’s Wrestling for a Cure in Red Bud Illinois with some of your favorites like Brandon Aarons, Billy McNeil and Mia Martinez will be wrestling for a good cause.

Pro Wrestling Epic is set to have their Epic 8 tournament on April 29th with the first signed wrestler being none other than Jimmy Jacobs. I have spoke with the men behind PWE and this looks to be a great show from top to bottom.

We announced that Scott Hall would be in town for Pro Wrestling Showcase on April 39th along with Santana G, Jeremy Wyatt, Mark Sterling, Rick Fuller and Jonathan Gresham to name a few. More will be announced as we know about this as the news has created quite a buzz with many of you MWR fans.

Pro Wrestling Phoenix has been an all out war zone with new Champ Preston Maxwell and the barb wire mayhem from this past weekend.

IWA Unlimited is so full of news it is hard to keep up. IWA Unlimited: Wednesday Night Wrestling will feature (Chuck Taylor), and both Arik Cannon and Darin Corbin will be all in action in the coming month for this great promotion.

Last but not least we are proud to say that both Midwest Stars Brian Breaker and Trevor Murdock are safe and sound in Japan wrestling for Pro Wrestling Noah. Our hearts and prayers goes out to everyone in Japan after this recent .disaster

The news is coming in at MWR by the minute for your favorite promotions and wrestlers including just who is up for the next MWR Trading cards and who just caught them a free MWR T-shirt?

So please check back with MWR for all your wrestling news.

RIP Norine Stice

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 16, 2011

Due to the technology that we now have at our own homes, the internet allows us to meet and work with people that several years ago that we never would have had the chance to.

In the world of Pro Wrestling thanks to the Missouri Wrestling Revival site I have had the chance to work with World Champions, legends and future superstars but some of my favorite people that I have known will never be household names.

Norine Stice isone of those fine people I speak of, she truly loved wrestling.

She worked with the fine website Carnage Chronicles a site that is a great scource for Independent and Pro Wrestling.

I was always honored when she reposted MWR information and when I thanked her for it she sent these kind words

Your blog covers a lot of things that I don’t cover or have access to. I actually subscribe to your blog on WordPress and reblog them via my blog. You have great action photos, nice reviews, and when you mention Mark Sterling or Harley Race (and his academy)…those are personally my favorite posts :)

I thoroughly enjoy your blog and sincerely hope I am pointing people to what Missouri Wrestling Revival has to offer.

Norine

Most recently, I worked on a hype piece for a Tony Kozina and Craig Classic match and wanted to use her interview with Classic for the site, she was more than happy to let us use it with out a blink of an eye.

To be honest, I never met Norine in person and always took it for granted that our paths would cross at a match down the road somewhere. An opportunity that never would come to pass but I feel thankful that I knew her via the internet. .

Reports are that Norine passed away due to a massive heart attack, and the major arteries in her heart all collapsed at once. She went quickly and did not die suffering.

Our hearts, prayers and thoughts goes out to the friends and family of Norine Stice.

World League Wrestling with “Rowdy” Roddy Pipper March 25 and 26th

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 15, 2011

Join World League Wrestling with their special guest “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in just a couple of weeks in Spokane and El Dorado Springs Mo on  March 25th and 26th .

Roddy Piper is one of the most popular guest in the past at WLW and you will not want to miss the opportunity to meet him later this month.

Piper along with Hulk Hogan was instrumental in the “Rock and Wrestling” boom of the 80’s headlining the early Wrestlemanias.

A break from wrestling saw Piper star in several movies including the cult classic “They” and several others.

Piper would feud with Bret Hart, Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler in his return to the WWE.

During the Monday Night WARS Piper challenged the NWO while feuding with arch rival Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Randy Savage.

Along with fellow Wrestling superstar SGT Slaughter he would be the only wrestler that would have his own GI Joe action figure.

In 2002 Piper wrote the autobiography In the Pit with Piper: Roddy Gets Rowdy, and in 2005 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

I can not stress enough the impact that Roddy piper had on Pro Wrestling and hope that you take the chance to meet the legend himself on March 25th and March 26th.

Also during both nights will be the 2011 Harley Race Wrestling Invitational

tournament that will feature some of the best young talent in the world today

World League Wrestling and the New Age Outlaws this Saturday in Richmond Missouri

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 14, 2011

Former Degeneration X members the New Age Outlaws “Road Dogg” Jesse James and “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn will be making their way to Richmond Missouri for Harley Race’s World League Wrestling this Saturday March 19th for a fun filled evening that you will not forget.

Photobucket

The New Age Outlaws was one of the most important tag teams in the history of wrestling as they helped spearhead the Attitude Era for Vince McMahon’s WWE along with the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

History will show that the New Age Outlaws formed in Kansas City, lets look back out how this happened on Smackdown.
