Dubi meets the MMWA-SICW fans February 2011

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 27, 2011

By Dubray Tallman

Hello everyone, an exciting night for me personally as our good friend promoter Herb Simmons asked for me to present Danny Boy Hawkins with a trophy. The trophy was in honor of his accomplishment of winning the Classic Wrestling Champion tournament last month at the very same building by defeating Waco, The Big Texan and followed it up with a win in the finals over “Thee” Brandon Espinosa.

I was nervous as this was to be aired on Channel 8 in St Louis so I didn’t want to mess up and make Danny Boy look bad. In all I was happy with the way it turned out as things was going great until Ron Powers went off his rocker and attacked his good friend Danny Boy.

You can find out the details by clicking here.

The MWR wrestler of the night was one of our favorite young men in the game today high flying A big thank you to Ace Hawkins for throwing out an MWR shirt prior to overcoming the odds and defeating the much bigger Waco during the night.
Photobucket

After his match Ace came out to meet the fan Gavin who was from Waterloo Illinois there in the front row with his family.

Danny Boy had a huge fan base at MMWA-SICW and prior to his good friend Ron Powers stabbed him in the back several of the fans took the chance to get their picture taken with the champ.

Photobucket

First we had Donovan who was at the matches for the very first time!

Photobucket

Dominic’s dad was a special guest for the show and had remembered us at WLW in 2010 when Brian had covered them. It was great meeting them and Dominic was so excited about having his photo while holding the belt with the Champ.

Photobucket

Christian, Kayla, Paige, and Allison was up next , this was Allison’s second time coming and she just loves Danny Boy so I was happy to get the two together along with Allison’s friends.

Photobucket

Brett & Eli Gummersheimer had their photo taken with Dave Vaughn last time but the photo did not turn out so this time they got to pose with “The Icon” Chris Hargas.

Photobucket

Last but not least I was going to pick a wrestler, when I saw that Brian was speaking to Jaysin Static questioning his actions in the ring earlier in the night against his opponent Max Archer when I got my good friend Mike Van to capture the young star putting the MWR Owner in a headlock.

I would like to thank MMWA-SICW for their friendship and support of myself and MWR as we get to meet such wonderful fans while checking out some great wrestling action.

Till next time.

Love Dubz

“The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony challenges El Magnifico to a special match.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 26, 2011

Photobucket

Missouri Wrestling Revival was on hand to witness a huge upset at All American Pro Wrestling when El Magnifico defeated Greg Anthony.

For a man of Anthony’s statue to lose to a guy in a mask and a sombrero was quite humiliating. We caught up with the Golden boy after the match, who was still feeling the embarrassment of the loss, and issued this challenge for the fan favorite El Magnifico for the next AAPW show.

Independent Hardcore Wrestling (IHW) returns to Red Bud, IL on March 5, 2011 @ The V Bar & Grill!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 26, 2011

IHW General Manager, Luke Roberts, and the Board of Directors have been hard at work in organizing this very special show. We don’t know much about it, but we have gotten a few announcements regarding the lineup.

IHW Illinois champion, Eric Allen, will be defending his title against arch rival, Evan Money. These two have met several times and Allen has always found a way to weasel a win, but he wasn’t able to do that on January 22 in Columbia, IL. Evan Money stepped up his game and Allen, fearing he would lose his championship, delivered a low blow to Evan getting himself disqualified. Luke Roberts announced after the match that the two would meet again, but this time, Allen would NOT be able to be disqualified and keep his title. The two will meet head-to-head on March 5 in a Street Fight.

Two-time IHW Heavyweight champion, Brandon Aarons, will be defending his title against the winner of a very special battle royal. What makes this battle royal special are the list of participants in it. We can’t give away all of them, but we will announce some of the special participants very soon. Your regular IHW favorites will be in it as well.

Check out these matches and more, March 5 for IHW’s “Return to Red Bud”!

Red Bud, IL @ The V
Bell Time: 7:00pm

MWR Breaking News : WHOOOOOOOOO……Ric Flair comes to Eldon Missouri on March 12!!!!!!!!!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 24, 2011

Photobucket

Big news for wrestling fans all around the Midwest as the two greatest wrestlers of ALL-TIME will be in the same place at the same time on March 12th in Eldon Missouri.

Former World Champion Ric Flair comes to Harley Race’s World League Wrestling in a night that you will not want to forget.

Photobucket

The history of these two men in the Midwest includes the 1983 PWI Match of the Year in St Louis Missouri on June 10 when Harley Race defeated Ric Flair for the NWA World Title.

Photobucket

These two men had one of the true classic feuds in pro wrestling history, , which led to the first-ever NWA Starrcade event. Determined not to lose the title again, Race offered a $25,000 bounty to anyone who could eliminate Flair from the NWA. Bob Orton, Jr. and Dick Slater attacked Flair, inflicting what appeared to be a career-ending neck injury, and collecting the bounty from Race after Flair announced his retirement. Flair’s retirement was a ruse, however, and he eventually returned to action, much to Race’s surprise. NWA officials set up a championship rematch, to be titled “NWA Starrcade: A Flare for the Gold”.
Photobucket

The match was to be held in Flair’s backyard, Greensboro, North Carolina, which enraged Race. Race lost the title to Flair in the bloody and memorable Starrcade cage match (with Gene Kiniski as the special referee) in November, 1983. Race’s loss to Flair at Starrcade was largely seen as the torch-passing from Race to Flair. Flair would go on to an unparalleled 22 reigns as World Heavyweight Champion (10 of those reigns as NWA World champion) and largely credits Race for igniting his career.

Now MWR fans you can experience the biggest night of 2011 with the Midwest reunion of these two TRUE Hall of Famers join the best young stars of the Midwest to provide wrestling the way it was meant to be.

In action could be these WLW Stars

WLW Tag Team Champions Steve Fender and Mark Sterling

Ron Powers goes berserk !!!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 24, 2011

By Brian Kelley

Shocking developments at MMWA-SICW in East Carondelet this past Saturday.

Missouri Wrestling Revival were all set to present the trophy awarded to the Classic Wrestling Champion Danny Boy Hawkins for becoming the first CWC Champion this past January in the one night tournament.

The fan favorite Danny Boy had just had a great win in a war with “The Worlds Fittest Wrestler” Mark Sterling. Afterwards MMWA-SICW Commissioner Keith Smith and MWR’S Dubray Tallman surprised Danny Boy with the trophy in the middle of the ring.

Photobucket

The champ took time to thanks his fans and family for their support and wanted to give a special thanks to his very best friend Ron Powers.

Powers is one of the most feared men in St Louis, had defeated MMWA-SICW Heavyweight and TV Champ Gary Jackson by count out earlier in the night came into the ring to give his friend a hug and congratulations.

Dubray was on her way out of the ring to let the two friends cherish the moment when promoter Herb Simmons asked Dubray to come back for MWR photographer Mike Van Hoogstraat to take a photo for the media.

Mike shot the photo…..then it happened Ron Powers delivered a clothesline from hell on his good friend, while Dubray ran for cover. Powers then went on a rampage destroying the trophy and continuing the beat down on Danny Boy while the crowd was stunned.

Thankfully Gary Jackson came in the ring on Danny Boys behalf but not before the damage was done. It was clear that Ron Powers had sent the message to the whole locker room, he was not to be trusted and everyone should watch their backs.

What will the following months at MMWA-SICW bring as Danny Boy, Ron Powers and Gary Jackson all have unsettled business to be taken care of.

Thanks to Mike Van Hoogstraat for sharing with you photos of this historic moments in St Louis Wrestling.

MWR Trading card #39 Neil Diamond Cutter

Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 23, 2011

Photobucket

Neil is the younger brother of Devin and Mason Cutter, collectively known as the tag team The Hooligans. The older Cutters have earned the respect of the wrestling world for their toughness and skills in the ring that saw them win the 2009 MWR Tag Team of the Year.

In the world of big man, a warrior that stands only 5’4 has to fight, scratch and crawl themselves to the top as Neil Diamond Cutter has done over the past couple of years.

2010 was a huge year for Neil as he would shock the wrestling world on April 23, 2010 by defeating Jon Moxley, Kyle Threat before winning the Prince of Death tournament in a brutal Ultimate Hardcore X No Rope Barbed Wire Match over Marcus Crane.

Neil Diamond Cutter would cement his place in hard core lore when he bested his brother Devin Cutter in round one , then bested Whacks before putting up an impressive effort over Devin Moore.

2010 is now history and East ST Louis’s own Neil Diamond Cutter is now out of his brothers shadow with an shot to win the 2010 Carnage Cup 7 in Alabama on February 26th.

Be on the lookout for the “The Prince of Death” Neil Diamond Cutter in 2011

The artwork of Neil Diamond Cutter is from the hottest comic in the Midwest, The Promotion. The Promotion is drawn from none other than Rob Schamberger.
