As the final cards of the first MWR trading card set comes to a close it is quite fitting that MWR adds Big Time to the collection, Jimmy “Big Time” Harris that is. Harris was nicknamed “Big Time” by the wrestlers for being the man to lay down the law during high profile matches for the past twenty years.

Mentored by referee greats such as Wrestling at the Chase referees Eddie Smith, Terry Riley as well as WWE’S Dave Hebner Harris has been the man on record for matches that would involved Kerry Von Erich, Chris Adams, Dory Funk Jr, Kamala, Rocky Johnson and many more.

Harris would go down in history as the man who would referee WWE World Champion Randy Orton’s first every match!!

Today Harris continues to work as the senior referee in many of the biggest matches around the Midwest at MMWA, SICW and TXWE in Michigan.

It is a great honor to announce that Jimmy “Big Time” Harris is number 96 in the MWR Trading card set.

MWR Awards update- New release date and changes.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 20, 2012

MWR LOGO

After much debate (and loss of sleep) we here at Missouri Wrestling Revival have come together to decide that as of today the MWR Awards for both the Promotion of the Year and Match of the Year has been retired.

We will still be awarding MWR Awards for 2012 for the following prestigious  categories

Wrestler of the Year

Female of the Year

Tag Team of the Year

Future Star of the Year

MWR Lifetime Achievement Award

Promoters, fans and wrestlers please send in your nominations for the first 3 as the Future Star and Lifetime Achievement award is determined through the MWR Awards committee.

In replace for the Match of the Year I am asking each promoter from the MWR Covergae area to please send in their choice for their match of the year in the following format

Promotion-match- date- place- and where fans can purchase the match via DVD or match stream.

So lets say for example St. Louis Anarchy chose the St Louis Anarchy match between Darin Corbin vs Dan Walsh vs Darin Childs vs Evan Gelistico from Yuletide Terror it would look like this

ST Louis Anarchy- Darin Corbin vs. Dan Walsh vs.  Evan Gelistico vs.  Darin Childs for the SLA Heavyweight Title (fatal four-way elim)- 12-7-12- Alton, Illinois- ??

On January 7th we will hopefully list the matches on our website as the MWR top matches of 2012, thus highlighting the promotion and lets fans know what and where to look for from last year.

The Wrestler of the Year for 2012 will be announced on January 1st.

Promoters please send your info  and fans send in your thoughts at flairwhoooooo@yahoo.com

The field is set for the first Collision Cup tournament on January 19th.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 20, 2012

The one-night, eight-man competition will unfold at Pro Wrestling Collision’s debut show in Carbondale, Ill., on Jan. 19.

The winner of the tournament will become the number one contender to the Pro Wrestling Collision championship, which will be awarded to Edmund “Livewire” McGuire by virtue of holding the respective title in the company that spawned Pro Wrestling Collision.

The entrants in the tournament are:

Photobucket

Heath Hatton has been a rising star in the business since his in-ring debut three years ago this month. His journey has taken him to WWE, where he competed on the Extreme Rules 2012 pay-per-view. The one thing that has eluded him, though, is a major singles championship. He’s looking to change that.

Joey O’Riley is one of the Midwest’s premier high-flyers. He has found success across the region, and he is the first man to hold the No Limits Championship. He is looking to add a second singles title to his collection by winning this tournament and challenging for the heavyweight title.

Photobucket

Matt Cage is one-half of Team Overkill, one of the most successful tag teams in the Midwest. Cage and his partner continue to have their eyes set on tag team success, but they’re also looking for singles gold. Cage has proven himself as a singles competitor in the past, but will it be enough to lead him to a tournament victory?

Christian Rose is Cage’s partner in Team Overkill. Known as the “Bitter Lunatic” – on Twitter anyway – Rose is a deadly striker. He has been known to refer to himself as a “human deathmatch,” claiming his punches put men in hospitals and his kicks put them in graves. Rose’s dominant style may make him an early favorite.

Photobucket

Ace Hawkins was named the 2011 Rookie of the Year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and has had a truly breakout year in 2012. His fast-paced, high-impact style has taken him across the Midwest. He competed on WWE’s Extreme Rules alongside Hatton. Many may not consider Hawkins a heavyweight, but he’s setting out to tear barriers down.

Brandon Espinosa currently holds the Pro Wrestling Collision Tag Team Championship with Hawkins. He’s well accomplished as both a singles and tag team competitor, having been named Missouri Wrestling Revival’s 2011 Wrestler of the Year. With the tag teams title secure, Espinosa is looking to add the Heavyweight Championship to his resume.

Photobucket

Alex Castle used social media to connive and coerce his way into this tournament, and it’s time to put his money where his mouth is. Castle is often joined by Angelus Layne, who more often than not tries to influence the outcome of Castle’s matches, so the other competitors certainly need to be prepared for the beauty that comes with this beast.

Kyles Sykes is the youngest star in the tournament with the most to gain. A strong showing for Sykes, who carries with him the endorsement of independent wrestling sensation “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross, could cement his place in the upper echelon of Southern Illinois wrestlers. This could be a breakout moment for the young upstart.

The Collision Cup tournament will take place on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the SIU Carbondale Student Center Ballroom D. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at prowrestlingcollision.weebly.com.

For more information, visit facebook.com/prowrestlingcollision or find the promotion on Twitter @PWCollision.

Breaking news: Ron Powers takes the “Canadian Hero” Sean Vincent out of action for 2013 season !!

At the December 15th SICW event Sean Vincent suffered a knee injury during the main event tag match. The initial injury occurred from the missile drop kick from the top rope. Then Powers unleashed an assault on the already injured knee including a vicious chair assault afterwards added to the horrific actions of the former Classic Wrestling Champion.

.After speaking to Vincent two days later we’ve learned that he tore both the MCL and ACL ligaments in his left knee. This injury looks to have Vincent out of action indefinitely  for the 2013 season.

Vincent let us know that he will be in East Carondelet, Illinois at the next SICW show to address his fans with more information.
