WLW AUGUST 16TH

Press Release
World League Wrestling Returns to Richmond!
July 30th, 2014

Saturday night, August 16th, World League Wrestling returns Richmond, Missouri! Harley Race, 8-Time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, brings his promotion of WLW back to the Kansas City area.

World League Wrestling has been one of the most prominent wrestling companies around today. Since 1999, Race and his company have strived to bring to its fans the best in professional wrestling. In 2014, the company turned 15 years old and has a wealth of history within that time frame. On August 16th, history will be made again as WLW looks to host one of the biggest events to date!

As with many of the WLW events, the company will be raising funds for 2 causes. The first is a young man who was involved in a serious vehicle accident. Stephen Taber was involved in a tragic accident and this gentlemen needs help! The second group is the Richmond Cheerleading Team as they are raising money to purchase new uniforms for this year’s season. Needless to say, Race and his roster of talented professional wrestlers will be putting on this event for great causes!

One of the matches scheduled to take place is a grudge match between 2 wrestlers that has been building for quite a while. “The Ego” Dustin Bozworth has let everyone within earshot know of his intentions. Leland Race, who just recently lost the WLW Heavyweight Championship, has stepped up to the plate to “stop the babbling” that is coming out of the mouth of Bozworth. “The company’s motto is “shut up and wrestle”, and that is exactly what I intend to do” says the former WLW Heavyweight Champion Leland Race.

Another high profile match will be the finals of the 2014 Harley Race Invitational Tournament. The second round of the tournament concluded in Troy, MO on July 26th, 2014. Superstar Steve and Kyle Roberts both advanced to the finals of this year’s tournament, pitting the grizzled veteran versus the younger and newer Kyle Roberts.

One big attraction to the fans is ladies wrestling. This event will mark the first match in the “best of 5” series of matches between current reigning and defending WLW Ladies Champion – Miss Natural – and the challenger, Stacey O’Brien. Both female competitors have held the championship, but now the race is on to see who is the better of the 2 grapplers.

The main event will feature a tag team match up as the WLW Tag Team Champions – The Black Hand Warriors – defending their titles against 2 un-named opponents. Michael Magnuson and Dave Delorean won their championships in Linn, MO on August 31st, 2013 and have been on a rampage ever since. With the last event showing a surprise allegiance with one of the fan-favorites, Jack Gamble, many fans are wondering if this group will ever be stopped.

Tickets for this event can be purchased in advance for $10 (general admission) and $15 (golden circle). Prices go up $2.00 per ticket if bought the night of the event. Tickets can be bought at Academy Bank in Walmart as well as the Richmond City Collectors Office. They may also be purchased online at http://www.harleyrace.com/nOnlineTicketOutlet.html.
