New WLW Tag Team Champions – Steve Fender and Brandon Espinosa

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 5, 2017

This past weekend at the Harley Race Wrestling Arena, Superstar Steve Fender and Brandon Espinosa defeated Kyle Roberts and Warwick Stephans to win the vacated WLW Tag-Team Championships. The new tag team Champions Fender and Espinosa were able to win the belts despite miscommunication between the two at that saw them come to near blows during several key moments of the contact .

If these two can get on the same page, they could very well hold onto these belts for a long time as both of them are two of the top wrestlers during the MWR years. Fender was one half of the first ever WLW Tag Team Champions back in 2001 with Matt Murphy. Since then he has held onto the belt with several partners throughout the years including Ace Steel, Mason Hunter, Mark Sterling, Bao Nguyen and Dangerous Derek just to name a few. Espinosa is no stranger to tag team success with partners Brandon Aarrons, Mike Sydal and Ace Hawkins.

WLW returns to Richmond, Missouri this coming Saturday. Be sure to keep up with MWR updates on the new Champions and WLW Stars.

Missouri Rankings Update: Cape Champ Austin Lane proves he is “Best of the Best”

Posted by Ben Simon on November 1, 2017

MO Rankings

The new Official Missouri Rankings list, good through the end of 2017, has been calculated and published.  Head over to the MO Rankings page for the latest publication.  To qualify for the Top 10, a wrestler must have the highest ratings with consistent activity (RD ≤ 175).  Rankings are published every two months.

For details on how the rankings work, read the Introduction

MOVEMENTS & EXPLANATIONS

CAce Hawkins troubled us these last two months.  In title defenses against Gary Jackson and Italian newcomer Flavio Augusto, Hawkins took no issue with abandoning the bouts via countout.  It’s true that no champion can lose the MWR Missouri crown this way, but this tactic is unprecedented in our title’s history.  The belt aside, Ace’s rating still reflects these losses.

#1Dak Draper hasn’t moved within the Top 10, even though he can’t go any higher (other than defeating our champion in a match).  “The Mile High Magnum” is notable this time because his rating 2178 is now the all-time record holder, surpassing that of Ricky Cruz in Mar-Apr 2016.

#2Austin Lane has finally broken onto the list, and in a big way.  Since beating Hollis Giroux for the Cape Championship Wrestling title, “The Best of the Best” Lane has wrestled enough to become eligible for inclusion.

#3Jeremy Wyatt advances four spots.  “The Monarch” has the help of his fellow Foundation members Strider and Steel, but can get the job done on his own if need be.  Wyatt put together a streak until being choke-slammed and pinned by Jack Foster in a dog collar match.

#4Jay Howard advances four spots.  The HRW High Risk champion has won his last six bouts and closed out the Central-States Championship Wrestling promotion’s final card on October 14.  “The Freestyle Phenom” was also the last NWA Missouri champion and deserves a crack at the MWR Missouri title.

#5Maverick went 4-2 against tough competition this period.  The NWL St. Louis champ steps back just one spot.

#6Red Cloud has been reinstated in our rankings, despite losing both his matches against Dak Draper.  His servitude to Niles Plonk is over and “The Lakota Warrior” can be (gasp!) a wrestler again.  His performances had him rated so high, his losses to Draper this period don’t hurt much and allow him to be active enough to warrant inclusion.

#7Blaine Meeks is on the shelf again and drops one spot after a loss to Dak Draper and Draper’s heinous attack on his leg.  Get well soon, “Super Meeks.”

#8Jon Webb tumbles six rungs after a huge upset loss to Elvis Aliaga in Jefferson City on October 21.  Aliaga used illegal leverage to get the pin, but a result is black and white here.  WLW Junior Heavyweight champ Webb is the longest continuously ranked wrestler here (over two years!).

#9Todd Letterman advances a space due to others leaving.  He’s dead, right?  At least in name… If Kevin Lee Davidson doesn’t wrestle in Missouri in November or December, he will be removed from the Top 10.  We want KLD!

Welcome #10Jet Royal!  Due to Jax Royal’s knee injury, Jet has made a significant singles campaign.

We fondly say farewell to Belvedere, Adrian Surge, and Leland Race.  Belvedere (before Niles Plonk paid and renamed him was known as The Iceman) is inactive, Surge lost big in matches in which he was the clear favorite, and Race lost a chain match against Kyle Roberts.

SICW Ken Kasa vs Chris Hargas 60 Minute Time Limit Championship Match

Posted by flairwhoooooo on November 1, 2017

After the shenanigans Travis Cook pulled tonight, and after demanding a re-match from when Hargas lost the title to Kasa, Promoter Herb Simmons and Larry Matysik out smarted Cook. Next Saturday November 4th East Carondelet Illinois, there will be a re-match between the Champion Kasa against former champion Hargas, but this time it will be 2 out 3 falls, and Travis Cook will be handcuff to Promoter Herb Simmons. That’s right, Cook may try to involve himself, but rest assured that he may have bitten off more than he bargained for. Call today 618-286-4848 to reserve your seats for what may be the end of Travis Cook.

PWP Live returns to The Waiting Room Lounge on November 2nd with WrestleRama!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 31, 2017

*** New PWP Champion “UNBREAKABLE” MICHAEL ELGIN defending against PRESTON MAXWELL!!!

Elgin is renowned as one of the best wrestlers in the world today – a former ROH Heavyweight Champion, a former IWGP Intercontinental Champion…and as of October 5th, the current reigning and defending PWP Champion!! Maxwell earned this shot by defeating his nemesis Branden Juarez, but not without using both a low blow, and a pair of brass knux. If anyone is willing to pull out any and all stops to become champion, even against Michael Elgin, it would be Preston Maxwell.

*** PWP Tag Team Champions – GUNS & BEER: DARREN “MOONSHINE” RUSSELL & DUKE CORNELL defend against PAT POWERS & “DELICIOUS” DEVIN CARTER!!!

There is no love lost between these two duos, however after Carter pinned Duke after a vicious piledriver in an 8 man tag match last month – Pat and Carter demanded this title shot. Well being that Duke and Moonshine are never the type to back down from a fight, they gladly accepted, and on 11/2, the fight will be on!!

*** PWP Rising Phoenix Champion JOEY DANIELS w/ “MANAGER SUPREME” AXEL GREECE & PAUL DANIELS defending against BRANDEN JUAREZ!!!

Juarez has been in the middle of a heated rivalry with Preston Maxwell, but while Maxwell has his hands full with PWP champion Michael Elgin – Juarez will look to add another piece of hardware to his resume – which would make him the first ever PWP triple crown winner. However The Daniels Bros. are still at this nonsense of acting like they are BOTH Rising Phoenix Champion….while only Joey actually is. Joey is the only legal participant in this match on his side….but it goes without saying that Juarez will also need to be ready for the unruly antics of Paul and Greece too!

*** “KLD” – KEVIN LEE DAVIDSON vs. “THE CANDYMAN” WILLY SWEET!!!

Also in action:

* THE FIGHT & FLIGHT CONNECTION
* MIDWEST BLOOD
* CON ARTIEST
* ZAC JAMES
* PAUL DANIELS w/ “MANAGER SUPREME” AXEL GREECE
* DALTON LEE ROTH
* “THE KARAOKE KING” PURPLE
* “THE RUGGER FROM DOWN UNDER” ROBERT STORM
* CARSON ROCKWELL
* And more!!

Tickets just $10 in advance, $13 day of, while they last!!

Advance tickets available at Ted and Wally’s Premium Homemade Ice Cream (both Old Market & Benson locations).

Or online at Etix

Doors open at 7:00 PM, action kicks off at 8!!

Kris Wyatt Gone But Not Forgotten –New Breed Wrestling Honored a Friend in Eldon, Missouri

Posted by flairwhoooooo on October 25, 2017

Though he never held a World title or wrestled in Japan, Kris Wyatt touched many people in his life. From a loving son and husband, he took time to support local wrestling for many years in Missouri as a group of Harley Race’s World League Wrestling fans called the Fulton Animals. They came to many wrestling events to cheer the good guys and to give the bad ones a hard time. When it was said and done Kris and his group of friends created memories for not only themselves but the wrestlers they supported.

Many years later Kris would team up with former World League Wrestling referee Scott Zei when he decided to start the Missouri base New Breed Wrestling. Kris would be helpful with the sound system, before taking over the booking.

Kris would have been proud of the huge turnout for the sport that he loved. The night started off with a ten bell salute in the honor of Kris and former Central States Wrestling ring announcer Bill Kersten. Former WLW and WWE Superstar Trevor Murdoch made a surprise appearance for a special speech to the fans on what Kris meant to him and his career.

In attendance was his mother Daisy and wife Cindy as well as many extended family ringside. The night would feature many high flying, hard hitting battles and a steel chain match that had the crowd popping all night long worthy of our friend Kris Wyatt.

Prior to the New Breed Wrestling event the fans could sign a memorial book of Kris Wyatt as they checked out the joy that he brought many in his life.

Many of the New Breed Wrestling family gathered for a photo at the memorial table. These were just a few of the hard working men and women that were proud to be a part of the Kris Wyatt Memorial event.
