MO TITLE: Ace Hawkins takes on Otis Crowley in Cape’s steel cage, Jan. 27

Posted by Ben Simon on January 21, 2018

20180127 Cape Championship

“Caged Chaos 2” is a crazy event that you have to see to believe!  Cape Championship Wrestling is on January 27 at the A C Brase Arena, and every match will be inside a steel cage.

MWR’s match of interest has Ace Hawkins defending his State title for the 10th time against Otis Crowley.  This is Crowley’s second shot; in fact, two months ago, Crowley beat Ace, but it was by countout, so the title did not change hands.

Matches are won by either escaping the cage or by scoring a traditional fall.  In the four-way team match, the first wrestler who escapes scores an automatic win for his team.

World League Wrestling first event of 2018!

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 19, 2018

Harley Race’s World League Wrestling is about ready to kick off the new year! 2017 saw many great matches, legends, and fans come to and through our company. 2018 will be just as good – AND BETTER!

Kicking off this year, you will see the main event of Jack Gamble taking on Leland Race. This one seems personal as Race tried to nearly end the career of Gamble’s closest friend in the professional wrestling industry – Jon Webb.

A rematch has been signed for the #WLW Tag-Team Championships as Superstar Steve and Brandon Espinosa defend against Kyle Roberts and Warwick Stephans.

REX has issued a challenge to Jaden Roller after Roller’s recent actions following the last event in December.

More wrestling matches will be announced as the night draws closer!

Be sure to visit our newly-designed website at www.harleyrace.com to purchase tickets starting January 5th,

Missouri Rankings Update: Jack Foster proves “he is pro wrestling!”

Posted by Ben Simon on January 11, 2018

MO Rankings

SEE THE RANKINGS

The new Official Missouri Rankings list, good through February, has been calculated and published.  Head over to the MO Rankings page for the latest publication.  To qualify for the Top 10, a wrestler must have the highest ratings with consistent activity (RD ≤ 175).  Rankings are published every two months.

For details on how the rankings work, read the Introduction

MOVEMENTS & EXPLANATIONS

CAce Hawkins finishes 2017 as the undisputed Missouri Champion.  Highlights this period included Ace wrestling Leland Race to a time limit draw and pinning Hollis Giroux.

We’re proud of Hawkins carrying the mantle of MWR, and we are also proud that the MWR Missouri championship is now recognized as the lineal and true State title by wrestling-titles.com, the bible of title histories around the world.

#1Dak Draper lost his NWL title, but it took a 30-man Rumble in Kansas to dethrone the Coloradan.  Only singles matches count in the rankings, so Draper is still at the top.  “The Mile High Magnum” did suffer his first blemish with a double countout result against Maverick in St. Joseph.

Even though #3Jeremy Wyatt is the new NWL champion, he stays put at his spot, due to a loss to #8Gary Jay, who debuts on the list for the first time.  Wyatt’s DQ loss to the Spirit of the NWL champion allows “Freestyle Phenom” #2Jay Howard to leapfrog Wyatt.  Howard didn’t even compete last period!  Got all that?

Perennial MWR contender and WLW Junior Heavyweight champion #4Jon Webb climbed four rungs with wins over Orion Creed and Jaden Roller.  Webb’s uninterrupted inclusion on our list is a record by far, at two years and four months!

#6Jack Foster’s wins over #9Maverick and Leo Howlett propel the giant from Blackwater back into the Top 10 (a countout draw with Draper helped a lot as well).  Foster is positioning himself at the NWL’s two title belts, neither of which he has yet held.  “Raging Bull” Maverick has fallen four spaces.

Sandwiching Foster are #5Red Cloud and #7Blaine Meeks, both inactive this go round.  If neither Red Cloud or Meeks (now wrestling as Bolt Brady) wrestle by the end of February, they will be removed from our rankings.

#10Anthony Gutierrez rounds out our list with a first-time appearance.  “Sharkbait” pinned the controversial Christian Rose and made newcomer Thomas Shire submit to earn his spot.  However, we’ll have to see if Gutierrez wants to continue as a singles star or commit to his tag team with fellow Lee’s Summit buddy Jet Royal.

Austin Lane, Todd Letterman, and Jet Royal drop out of the rankings this period.  Lane and Letterman were inactive in November and December, and both were flirting with ineligibility.  Jet Royal suffered a loss to Jeremy Wyatt and falls to the Top 20 range.

AWA Collectors Series Vol.2 – Road Warriors

Posted by flairwhoooooo on January 9, 2018

If there is one video that I have seen more than any other it may very well be this AWA title called Road Warriors : Road to the Championship. There was a time when I was huge huge fans of the Road Warriors and thanks to my friend Drew Abbenhaus (who found it on youtube as I only have it on VCR thanks to my friend Chris Howser) I am able to share with you one of the reasons I fell in love wrestling and am currently run the website MWR.

I love he action out of the ring as the Road Warriors tried to leave the ring after destroying Curt Henning, a moment that is etched in my mind till the day. I love how Bill Apter is a part of the video which made the magazine and the wrestlers both seem like such a huge deal. Great interviews and an awesome music video was an added bonus of 30 minutes that played over and over at the Kelley household.

If you do not believe me that is it awesome, then watch for yourself.

Brian Kelley – MWR Owner and Editor
