On the NBS Podcast for this edition – Their guest is America’s Evil Genius and manager Travis Cook! They ask about the lost art of managers in the wrestling business, what they add to a wrestler, cutting promos, the clients he represents and his fight literally against city hall at SICW.

They also go into his America’s Evil Genius program and discuss topics where wrestling and politics intersect, the frustrations endured by conservatives against the establishment, and the top five issues facing the country.

The NBS and Travis Cook also look at the St. Louis Wrestling scene, the dispute between SICW vs. NWA Central States, the MMWA-SICW divorce, why central Illinois isn’t represented in St. Louis, and more.

The Mad Conservative also takes a hard look at why wrestling events are not drawing in Springfield and gives his theory as to why…and it’s not due to “lack of promotion.”

MWR teams up with Shooter Spotlight to present MWR Trading card #14 Jack Gamble

For four years now indy wrestling fans have been thrilled by the high flying, hard hitting in-ring action of Reno, NV native Jack Gamble. The 2009 graduate of Harley Race’s Wrestling Academy has been making his name well known not only in the WLW ring, but many others as well, most recently Metro Pro, FIST, Dynamo Pro, and MMWA.

While fan favorite Gamble likes to have fun in the ring he has proven he is here for business. He is a two time WLW tag team champion (once with Jeff Strong, and once with current High Level Enterprise tag partner Jon Webb), he is the 2013 Harley Race Invitational winner, and has the distinction of being the youngest person to ever challenge for the WLW Heavyweight Title.

Gamble has already proven he is a force to be dealt with in the ring, and his career has just barely gotten started. We are very proud to add Jack Gamble to the MWR card series. Keep your eyes out for him, any event his name is advertised on is sure to be one not to miss.

Missouri Wrestling Revival is excited to receive news straight from SICW Promoter Herb Simmons.

Hot out of a meeting of the SICW staff, on Saturday October 12, SICW returns to Belleville Illinois at the Scottish Rites Building for the “Rumble in Belleville” featuring WWE Super Star, “The Honky Tonk Man”. He has promised that if the ever so troublesome Travis “The Crook” Cook is still in the area, he just may bring a special string instrument to adjust his attitude. This event is sponsored by the Metro East FOP Lodge 262 and will also feature all the SICW stars, Ron Powers, Ricky Cruz, Flash Flanagan, Big Texan, Gary Jackson, Waco, Heath Hatton, and others, and possibly the return of the “Midgets”. Matches are being signed as we speak. There will also be a special meet and greet with the Honky Tonk Man and our own Wrestling at the Chase Legend Larry Matysik prior to the Match. For tickets and reserve table seating call 618-286-4848.

MWR Top Prospects #8 “Mr Unpredictable” Dave Vaughn

In an impressive bit of information David Vaughn is one of only of two men (Gary Jackson being the other) to have held all the titles at MMWA – and he is only twenty five years old. He has finally taken the time to move to areas other than South Broadway and the wrestling world is finding out why they call him the Wrestling Machine.

Led by the “Manager of Champions” Travis Cook, Vaughn represented Cook in his biggest match to date as he met promoter Herb Simmons’ pick Chaz Wesson in a Cook’s Hair vs. Simmon’s Hair at “Wrestling Under the Stars ” at the  August 10 at the Gateway Grizzlies ballpark.

Outside the area Vaughn has made waves at 3XWrestling, Dynamo Pro Wrestling. FIST and Strictly Nsane Pro Wrestling while debuting in Puerto Rico over the summer. A master of the spear he has won many matches to date and the best is yet to come for the man now known as “Mr Unpredictable”

“Wrestling at the Chase” promoter Sam Muchnick

Born August 22, 1905
Died December 30, 1998

Sam Muchnick was born to a Ukranian Jewish family, and at age six came with them to the United States. He grew up in St. Louis, working various jobs before landing a position covering St. Louis Cardinals baseball games with the sports staff of the St. Louis Times newspaper. He took a job with his friend Tom Packs helping to promote professional wrestling events, eventually striking out on his own as a professional wrestling promoter. In 1948, Muchnick helped found the National Wrestling Alliance, becoming its president two years later. In the late 1950s, Sam Muchnick formed the St. Louis Wrestling Club while producing a new television program titled Wrestling at the Chase on KPLR-TV, which ran from May 23, 1959 to September 10, 1983. There were approximately 1,100 episodes made during that time span. The show would become one of the most popular local productions in St. Louis television history as it turned pro wrestling into a nationally popular entertainment while bringing the many stars of the NWA into the homes of its fans. The St. Louis circuit would groom stars like Johnny Valentine, Gene Kiniski, Harley Race, and Ric Flair.
