Pro Wrestling Phoenix T’was The Fight Before Christmas results.

T’was The Fight Before Christmas was PWP’s final event of 2011 and it was an event to be remembered by all in attendance!

A hot crowd witnessed a full night of amazing professional wrestling. Here is what went down.

1.) “Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell w/ “Unbreakable” Zach Thompson defeated Buck Albright. Buck was the fan favorite here and was in control of the match until Thompson kept sticking his nose in. Buck attempted a suplex from the ring apron to the inside but Rockwell fell on top of him and Thompson held down Buck’s foot so that he couldn’t kick out. The referee didn’t see this and counted the pinfall.

2.) SM King defeated Jeff O’Shea. O’Shea had a different demeanor than usual, as he was out for revenge. King took it to him however in a very hard hitting contest. O’Shea brought everything he had to the match, however King nailed two piledrivers in a row, and got the win. Afterwards King locked a choke on O’Shea and wouldn’t let go! He finally released him and left as the referee tended to O’Shea.

3.) Abu Colossus defeated “Joe-Dozer” Joey Anderson. Joey was quick to earn the fans disgust with his attitude. Colossus played to the crowd and every time Joey would get into the ring he’d try to attack Abu but Abu was one step ahead of him. He finally was able to use Abu’s own momentum against him and he ran into the ringpost. Anderson got the upper hand but one HUGE lariat from Colossus was all it took for him to get another W in PWP.

4.) “Beautiful Bodies” Brian Gott & Derek Cornell defeated “Daniels Bros” Joey Daniels & Paul Daniels to retain the PWP Tag Team Championship. Joey had been promising a huge return for his mystery partner and the crowd was shocked when after 4 ½ years PAUL DANIELS came out for the match! He was determined to become PWP Tag Team Champion once again, as the Daniels Bros were the first ever PWP Tag Team Champions! Paul had a different mindset than Joey however, and Joey became increasingly frustrated with Paul for not taking advantage and cheating during the match! It finally came to a head when Joey tried to use a chair and Paul took it away from him! Joey then was on the receiving end of the Bodies finishing maneuver and was pinned. Another win for the Bodies meant an argument for Joey and Paul. Joey seemingly forgave Paul but then attacked him and berated him!

SM King came out after intermission and was going to say a few words, however, O’Shea took a page out of King’s book, kicked him in the back of the head, and followed up with a huge knee to the face off the top rope! He then challenged King to a Street Fight in January, which has been officially signed!

5.) “Unbreakable” Zach Thompson w/ “Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell & Mad Dog McDowell wrestled to a no contest. “Heroes For Hire” tried the same tactic from earlier, however this time the referee saw and called for the match to be thrown out. Buck Albright saw this and came out saying that he had seen enough and challenged them to a tag team match right there! They were going to say no, but Mad Dog tore their comic book in half and enraged them into battle! The Heroes ended up sneaking the win out over Mad Dog & Buck but they had to cheat to do it.

6.) Sir Bradley Charles defeated “Simply Ravishing” Ryan Slade w/ “Manager Supreme” Axel Greece. SBC came out and said that Slade beating him last month was a fluke and that he knows he can beat him. He said that Slade needs to get out there and make it happen. Axel Greece came out instead and told SBC that if he wanted Slade again, he would have to put his “Anytime Anywhere Contract” on the line. SBC said ok then Greece said he forgot to mention that Slade wasn’t in attendance. As soon as he said this, Slade hit the ring and ambushed SBC! The match was on and it was a great contest! However, the referee caught Greece cheating halfway through the match and ejected him from ringside! Greece was furious but had to do as ordered. SBC and Slade went at it and with Slade by himself, SBC was able to nail his finishing maneuver and pin him for the win! SBC celebrated afterwards and Slade blamed Axel Greece for getting caught. This was Slade’s first loss in a singles match since August of 2009!

7.) “Cheap & Dirty” Preston Maxwell, Shawn Nautilus & “The Passion” Zac James defeated PWP Heavyweight Champion Matty Star, Vic Victory & Darren “Thunder” Russell. This was a wild contest and one of the most exciting PWP main events in history! Everyone got their hands on each other at some point and there were many near falls and close calls. In the end, Matty Star was going up to the top rope, but Maxwell pushed him down and Nautilus caught him in a crushing Choke Slam and pinned him! Cheap & Dirty quickly retreated as Star, Victory & Russell regrouped in the ring.Thank you SO MUCH to all of our great fans! Our next event to kick off 2012 is YEAR OF THE PHOENIX VII on January 14th! Here is what we know so far!

*PWP Heavyweight Champion Matty Star defends against “Cheap & Dirty” member Shawn Nautilus!

*Street Fight! SM King Vs. Jeff O’Shea

Much more will be announced very soon!

“3G” Eric Wayne vs. “Boom Boom” Colt Cabana at AAPW Jan 14th.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on December 20, 2011

Photobucket

In August, “3G” Eric Wayne was scheduled to face Ring of Honor Champion Davey Richards, who was pulled from the show by Sinclair Broadcasting. He’s since been demanding better competition, so at Main Event on Jan. 14, he’ll face former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana! What do you think, fans?

AAPW Main Event
Featuring PAC, Colt Cabana and El Generico
6:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012
Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse
Marion, Ill.

The Competitors: “3G” Eric Wayne is a third-generation wrestler following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who competed in the legendary Memphis territory. Colt Cabana is an internationally renowned wrestling star who has competed and won titles around the world, including a brief stint in WWE.

The Backstory: Wayne had been scheduled to face Ring of Honor World Champion Davey Richards at a “Collision” taping in August. Sinclair Broadcasting, the corporate owner of ROH, pulled Richards from the show, leaving Wayne without an opponent. Jay Spade stepped up, but Wayne put him right back down. Since then, Wayne has remained vocal in the locker room, demanding more competition. AAPW officials have responded by granting Wayne a match against the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

What’s at Stake: Wayne is looking to back up his words with a victory. Defeating an opponent of Cabana’s caliber will position Wayne near the top of the AAPW rankings heading into the second season of “Collision.” For Cabana, this match is a matter of pride and proving to the AAPW fans he deserves to be recognized as one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the industry today.
