Ricky Cruz has made great waves on in the Midwest in a very short time. The man who has been a star in Mexico and Puerto Rico but in less than a year at the MWR promotion coverage area he is about to take on one of the top wrestlers in the world in less than a week. That’s right Ricky Cruz will meet the former 4-time NWA World Champion Adam Pearce in Glen Carbon, Illinois on June 1st

Just two weeks prior to the event, Cruz has defeated one of the longest reigning champions during the MWR Years in a classic matchup against the CWC champ Ron Powers at SICW in East Carondelet on May 19th. Not only did he have to fight through the henchmen of Power’s The Big Texan and Waco but at ringside was WWE HOF wrestler and current WWE scout Gerry Brisco watching.

Talk about being clutch as he would become only the third man to hold the title much to the fans delight as he would end the terror of Ron Powers.

Look for a recap of this historic night in the near future at MWR.

The last time Cruz was in Glen Carbon, IL he upset Kevin X in his final match in the area for a while in thus sending a message in the locker room that he was to be a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately the then NWA World Champion Adam Pearce would find out firsthand the back down from no one attitude of Cruz during his match up with the NWA National Champion Kahagas. While Pearce was beating down on Kahagas after the match, Cruz who has a history with Kahagas in Puerto Rico came out to put an end of it.

Moments later, Pearce would challenge Cruz to a NWA World Championship Match on June 1st. Unfortunately, Pearce would go on the next night in Kansas City to defeat Matt Murphy but Colt Cabana would defeat him in California the very next day in California, thus making this a non-title match.

Still this match is huge for both men as they eye the 10 pounds of Gold that Cabana now has around his waist.
Cruz has also collected victories against top wrestlers in the area including Dave Vaughn, The Big Texan, Ken Kassa, David Osborne amd Sean Vincent .

We here at Missouri Wrestling Revival is proud to announce that the newest member of the MWR Trading card series is Ricky Cruz.
