Black Diamond Harley-Davidson teams up with AAPW!!
Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 21, 2011
MARION, Ill. — All American Pro Wrestling and Black Diamond Harley-Davidson have announced a new partnership that will make the Black Diamond Warehouse the permanent home for all future “AAPW Collision” television tapings.
Beginning with the taping scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 28, all televised AAPW events will be filmed at the Marion location. Doors will open at 1 p.m., and bell time is scheduled for 2 p.m. for all subsequent tapings.
“Black Diamond Harley-Davidson has been such a generous supporter of AAPW benefits for several years now,” said AAPW owner and promoter Sean Chambers. “They were recently recognized as one of the top Harley-Davidson dealerships in the nation. For them to help a small Southern Illinois wrestling promotion take this step to the next level really shows how much they are willing to give back to the community. We are so happy that they have decided to partner with us for ‘AAPW Collision.’”
While the use of the Warehouse may be new, the partnership between All American Pro Wrestling and Black Diamond Harley-Davidson is not.
“Black Diamond has been a proud sponsor of AAPW events since 2008,” said Jeremy Pinkston, the company’s marketing director. “The family-friendly atmosphere, along with the charitable arm of the organization, has been a key element for our increased interest and new partnership. We are very excited to offer a regular home for their events and see a huge success in the making.”
The “AAPW Collision” TV tapings will all occur on Sunday afternoons. The dates for the remainder of the 13-episode season are Aug. 28, Sept. 18, Oct. 23, Nov. 13, and Dec. 18.
AAPW has also announced future non-televised live event dates around Southern Illinois.
“On Saturday, Oct. 8, we will host our annual benefit for the American Cancer Society,” Chambers said. “Tentatively, the event will take place at the Herrin Middle School gym. On Saturday, Oct. 29, AAPW heads to Carmi, Ill., at the Carmi-White County High School for a benefit for the Carmi Lions Club.”
“AAPW is also looking to host an event on Saturday Nov. 5, but we are still looking for a venue for this event. Possibilities include West Frankfort, Ill.; Nashville, Ill.; and Mount Vernon, Ill.”
Black Diamond Harley-Davidson is located at 2400 Williamson County Parkway in Marion, Ill. They are not only a new and used dealership but also a parts and service center and official Harley-Davidson apparel provider. For more information, visit blackdiamondhd.com.
AAPW is a locally owned and operated professional wrestling company that will begin its fifth year of operation this September with the launch of “AAPW Collision” on WSIL TV-3. Local talent includes the AAPW Tag Team Champions Curly and Heath Hatton, Jay Spade, Mike Masters, “Playboy” Paul Rose and the AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund “Livewire” McGuire.

One-legged pro wrestler Zach Gowen rebuilds his life in Ann Arbor. By Matt Durr
Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 20, 2011
By Matt Durr
Zach Gowen was going to be rich, famous and have more girlfriends than he could count.
He lived that dream for 14 months. Seven years later, he just wants his life back.
2003, Gowen was 20 years old and one of the youngest members of World Wrestling Entertainment, the top rung in pro wrestling. He didn’t last long. Drugs and alcohol use coupled with a poor attitude got him fired. Today, he lives in Ann Arbor following a visit to a rehabilitation clinic in 2010.
“The support here is out of this world,” said Gowen who lost his left leg to cancer as an 8-year-old. “I couldn’t have picked a better city to live in.”
Gowen first stepped foot into a WWE ring in 2003 in front of thousands of people, playing a fan in the audience who was a “special guest” of Hulk Hogan’s. After seeing Hogan get jumped by a group, Gowen jumped the guard rail and entered the ring.

30) Heroes for Hire (Jimmy Rockwell and Zach Thompson)
Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 20, 2011
What do you get when you combine two of the top young talents in the Midwest with the love of comic books? Heroes for Hire that’s who! Jimmy Rockwell and Zach Thompson saw an opportunity in 2011 to step up to the big time at Metro Pro Wrestling for a chance at the NWA Midwest tag team Championship. With a BAM, BOOM and CRASH they would defeat the Beer City Brawlers to make that goal a reality.
Can the Heroes for Hire can survive August at both NWA Dynamo in Glen Carbon Illinois and Metro Pro Wrestling with the titles?
Regardless look for the H4H to be one of the teams that will bring excitement in the Midwest for years to come.
