3XWrestling To Crown a New “King” of Des Moines.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 23, 2012

2012 King of Des Moines Tournament and Perry Saturn Headline Event

DES MOINES, Iowa – The all-stars of Midwest pro wrestling will be in action once again on Friday, August 31 as 3XWrestling (3XW) holds its 2012 King of Des Moines Tournament event in Des Moines.

Headlined by three major matches, 3XWrestling closes out an incredible summer of wrestling action with one of its biggest events of the year.

The 4th-annual King of Des Moines Tournament (KODM) is one of the feature attractions of this event. It is a one-night, single-elimination tournament featuring eight of 3XW’s most recognizable competitors battling over three rounds to crown a new “King” of Des Moines.

For the first time ever, former King of Des Moines Tournament winners are competing again in the tournament, with “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell (2009 winner), “The World’s Fittest Wrestler” Mark Sterling (2010) and “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade (2011) vying to become the first two-time tournament winners. They join a field that also includes former KODM entrants “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong (with Chad Mylan) and “The Punk Rock Icon” Tony Sly, as well tournament newcomers Darin Corbin, Ray Stryker, and “The Survivor” Barry Ryte.

Along with tournament bouts, two other major matches round out the card. In a very special eight-man tag team attraction, current 3XW Pure Wrestling champion and long-time WWE/WCW/ECW star Perry Saturn teams with 3XW Tag Team champions The American Bulldogs (Maddog McDowell & “The American Fury”Jon West with Skylar Pierce) & Sir Bradley Charles to face “All That” Matt Murphy & Genesis members “Delicious” Devin Carter, Casanova & Nate Bash with Todd Countryman. This match was set up as a result of Genesis members attacking Perry Saturn before the Bulldogs and SBC made the save at June’s Downtown Destruction 4 event.

Completing the card is a title match that fans have been anticipating for over five months. “The Professional” Benjamin Sailer defends the 3XW Heavyweight championship against former three-time champion “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt. Sailer won the championship by impressively winning a 30-man Gauntlet for the Gold battle royal at May’s Over the Top 3 event after Wyatt was forced to vacate due to suffering a broken ankle in April. Now, with a newly-inserted steel plate in his ankle, Wyatt makes his in-ring return to 3XWrestling facing the challenge of 3XW’s top submission wrestler in Sailer, who has submitted his past three opponents. If Wyatt wins, he’ll become the first four-time 3XW Heavyweight champion.

The King of Des Moines Tournament will be held at the Baratta’s@Forte Center in Des Moines. The event will be filmed for future airing on 3XW’s weekly television program on Iowa CW Network affiliates. 3XW’s TV show airs Saturday at 6 p.m. on KWKB channel 20 (eastern Iowa) and 1:30 a.m. Monday on KCWI channel 23 (central Iowa).

Doors open for the The King of Des Moines Tournament at 7 p.m. (6:45 p.m. for advance ticket holders) for a 7:30 p.m. start time. The Barratta’s@Forte Center is located at 615 3rd St. in beautiful downtown Des Moines.

Advance tickets for 3XW events are available at http://www.3XWrestling.com through Brown Paper Tickets – http://www.brownpapertickets.com (search “3XW”). Additional tickets for the Des Moines event are sold at All Play (615 3rd St.), Cup O’ Kryptonite (2608 Beaver Ave.), and Jay’s CD and Hobby (3315 S.E. 14th St.)

Ticket prices are as follows:

– Adult Front Row: $18 Advance Tickets | $20 at the Door

– Kids Front Row: $9 Advance Tickets | $10 at the Door

– Adult General Admission: $12 Advance Tickets | $15 at the Door

– Kids 10 & Under: $6

3XW’s King of Des Moines Tournament is sponsored by Baratta’s, Mediacom, Godfather’s Pizza, Henry J’s Taco House, White’s Automotive, Prints Copy Center, B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli, Aspen Athletic Clubs and Air Lanes.

3XW, a Des Moines-based family-friendly wrestling promotion, has grown from humble beginnings in July 2005 to being a leader in the Midwestern professional wrestling scene. 3XW has twice been recognized (2008, 2010) by Missouri Wrestling Revival (http://www.missouriwrestlingrevival.com) as the “Promotion of the Year” for the Midwest.

3XWrestling holds monthly events the final Friday of each month in Des Moines at the Baratta’s@Forte Center, with additional events throughout the state of Iowa each month.

Scheduled bouts for King of Des Moines 2012 – Des Moines – August 31

I have had many fans ask “Where is Kraig Kessaman now?

So without any further wait I give you the answer from the man himself.

———————————————————————————————————————————————

Recently I opened the Windy Wine Company in Osborn Missouri. As with wrestling, this is something that I take a lot of pride and enjoyment in doing. Being so new to the wine industry, I tried to make the best product available with the little equipment and supplies that I had access to. This past month I received what would be the same as a championship title belt.

The award was a Gold medal at the Missouri Wine Competition held in Jefferson City. The contest was held on the 1st and 2nd of August. Many different wineries submitted over 230 different wines for the contest. Our Good News Red received the highest medal of Gold. Gold medal wines then went to be judged at the Governor’s Cup Contest which is the highest competition in the state. At this contest, the Gold medal winning Good News Red took another honor of best in class, semi-sweet red. This is very humbling for us and a very high honor in the wine business.

Good News Red is a Sangria style wine that is made from Concord Grapes, Strawberries, Raspberries and citrus fruit; it is our most popular wine. Our other wines include Apple and Pear Wines, a dry red wine and semi-sweet blush, and various types of Meads (for the inner Viking Warrior in us all).

In the future, look for Blackbelt Brewery by the end of 2012 as well as a special wine (codename: Grapple) to play tribute to my other passion, Professional Wrestling.

We want to thank everyone for a great start to our winery! We are now open as of May 1st! We are working hard to supply you with the best wines we can. Always be on the lookout for our new varieties! Right now you can find our wines at:

WLW answers important questions regarding the beginner and women fantasy camps Sept 8 and Sept 29th

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 21, 2012

Some have ask about our women and fantasy camp, what do I need?

First…. this is a hands on session Not a seminar, we have two (2) rings in the academy so you will get ring time.

Second physicals…. we are using your judgement on these sessions, we are going to ask for a wavier, and reserve the right to suspend your physical activity during the camp if the trainers see you having major trouble.

Now to the heart… we take staph infections very seriously in our Academy… so Clean athletic (gym) shoes are required, or never street worn…note they should be broke in.

Men should have athletic supportive type under garments, yes the ol jock strap or the “new” compression shorts will work.

Women should have a sports Bra and shorts (length) that you will be conformable working in the ring in front mixed gender observers.. Harley and our male head trainer.

Guys shorts should be of good fit, the less time you use adjusting means more focus on the task at hand.T-shirts or tops that allow you to grab, pull, throw and ect. please note we have found that most of the participants change shirts/tops for the afternoon session.

A towel or two, along with a bottle or glass (we have chilled water on site), sports drink (gator aid/power aid) if you wish.

Nutrition you should have a strong breakfast a couple hours before we start, you may bring protein drinks/mixes for the AM and PM break… lunch will be on your own. We will be burning calories , cardio, ring time and warm ups drills remember we will be working.

If you require anything else to do an athletic activity ankles taped ect. please make plan to have all this completed before we start.

Last but not least, a roll of athletic tape for your wrist we will explain this item when we start.Again this is NOT a seminar it is live ring action an athletic craft.

Breaking news: Manager Travis Cook has been suspended from Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling for six weeks until October 1.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 21, 2012

Photobucket

Travis Cook is not all smiles today as news came in that he will be gone till Oct 1st 2012- Photo Mike Van Hoogstraat.

At a card August 18 at the East Carondelet Community Center, Ironman Ken Kasa, who is managed by Travis  Cook, lost a controversial decision to Classic Wrestling Champion Ricky Cruz. After the bout, Cook got into an angry dispute with referee Jim Harris. When Harris turned to leave, Cook clubbed Harris from behind.

This brought promoter Herb Simmons into the dispute as he ordered Cook from the ring. Cook and Simmons then got into a violent argument, during which Simmons suspended Cook. When Cook continued to scream, Simmons – who is also the mayor of East Carondelet – called police to handcuff Cook and take him from the building.

No criminal charges were filed, but Cook was ordered to stay out of East Carondelet until at least October 1. While Cook is expected to appeal the suspension, it is unlikely anything could be scheduled until later this fall so in the end – Travis Cook is out of business in SICW until October 1.

WANTED : Top stories for the 2012 MWR Yearbook from the MWR promotions and wrestlers.

Posted by flairwhoooooo on August 20, 2012

As we head into the final 4 plus months of 2012, and barring the end of the world and if all goes as planned we hope to deliver to the fans the second annual MWR Yearbook.

What I am looking for is for MWR promoters and their staff to work together to send in their top stories in their promotions. I need not only the headlines but the article written for them. If I was there when it happen I did my best to try to get it done myself, though sometimes I get behind. I am not going to watch YouTube videos to shows I didn’t attend to write stories for this book.

Features we are looking for are the

1) Main title in your promotions title changes in monthly order.
2) Stories of special guest that wrestled or made appearance for your company.
3) Stories on your promotion supporting the community, fundraisers, etc.
4) Positive top stories of wrestlers that made an impact on the national scene.

Feel free to send in photos but PLEASE get permission from the photographer for them to be in the book to be sold, send me their name and contact address to confirm this.

I am also looking for reporters to donate their time to take part in exclusive features for next year’s yearbook that could be stories, interviews etc. of the wrestlers in our coverage area.

This is the honest truth; I can tell that the writing on the wall is that my time will be very limited this fall so if you want your company to represent properly then please assist me in making sure we honor all the hard work that you do by having it featured properly. . I can’t promise everything you want in the book will be included but I will do my best
So if you care enough about having your company featured please send me a list of all that you feel needs to be in the yearbook and I may already having stories and photos for that story already done.

Send your list of the above to me at FLAIRWHOOOOOO@YAHOO.COM and I try to get back with each of you promoter separately to do my best to give you the proper coverage you deserve.

Last but not least MWR promoters Dubray and I are both in school, and working a part time job. Due to time, homework and funds Dubray and I will be attending more shows closer to home than normal. It’s not that I don’t want to be at your shows as that is the part of the site I love the most, it’s all about trying to improve my life and better my chances to make more of an impact in pro wrestling. If any promoters feel as if they are being slighted because of that and don’t want to be involved with MWR I understand. For my friends that understand please feel free to still send in what you want to be on the site as I still have a deep passion to support you and pro wrestling on a whole.

Sincerely,

Brian Kelley
