3XW Reign of Terror Feb. 5, 2010 Results plus info for the 3XW show on March 5th
Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 16, 2010
Detailed Results:
1. Submission Match – “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell successfully defended the 3XW Cruiserweight title over former champion Casanova (with Todd Countryman) after making Casanova submit to an Elevated Boston Crab.
2. “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong (with “Laotian Liaison” Chad Mylan) pinned former three-time 3XW Heavyweight champion “Delicious” Devin Carter with a rollup after interference by 3XW Commissioner Todd Countryman, the leader of the Gentlemen’s Club.
3. “Torturous” Tony Sly and Rory Fox wrestled to a double countout in a chaotic brawl that saw both men battling outside the ring for quite some time after the match had officially ended – in fact, they fought all the way up the entrance ramp to the locker room!
4. Maddog McDowell defeated 3XW Heavyweight champion “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt by disqualification after Wyatt refused to let go of a shouler submission hold after McDowell grabbed the rope and the ref reached the count of 5.McDowell injured his shoulder early on in the match and Wyatt grew increasingly frustrated with his failure to put the ultra-tough McDowell away. Finally, the champion snapped and refused to break the hold.
Following the match, Wyatt continue to attack McDowell’s injured shoulder with the 3XW Heavyweight title, only for BRIAN ASH – the first-ever 3XW Heavyweight champion and trainer of Maddog McDowell – to run in from the crowd to come to the aid of McDowell. Wyatt and Ash exchanged punches, with Ash getting Wyatt up for the Devastator…only for Wyatt to slip out and exit the ring in the nick of time.
Following the match, Maddog asked Ash to team with him to battle Wyatt and a partner of his choice on March 5th at the Des Moines Social Club – and Ash accepted!
5. Six Man Scramble Match – Winner faces Jimmy Rockwell on March 5th for the Cruiserweight championship: Brady A. Dezire pinned masked Japanese newcomer White Lightning following a superkick to earn the title shot in an extremely chaotic, fast-paced battle. Other competitors included “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson, “Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade, Sparrow, and the 3XW debut of the Confederate luchador Rebelucha! Lots of dives and high impact moves in this battle.
6. Non-title – 3XW Pure Wrestling champion “The Viking Warrior” Kraig Keesaman pinned Jon West following a brutal Nordic Spike. Impressive performance by the rookie West in this bout, but Keesman proved to be dominant once again. With the win, Keesaman has now not be pinned or submitted in the last 19 months of 3XW competition.
7. Sir Bradley Charles, making his 3XW debut, pinned Domino Rivera following a beautiful Northern Lights Suplex with a bridge. Charles, a rookie, is a recent graduate of the Lance Storm Wrestling Academy whose father played football for the University of Iowa. Charles recently completed a tour of Australia and looked extremely impressive in his 3XW debut.
8. The High Flyers successfully defended the 3XW Tag Team titles over The Gentlemen’s Club (Mark Sterling and Gage Octane) in a phenomenal tag team bout. Octane had Mike Sydal in position for the Spine Tingler, only for Zach Thompson to come off the top rope and dropkick the back of Sydal, forcing Sydal on top of Octane for the pin.
Following the pin, Casanova immediately ran into the ring and he and Octane began to attack the High Flyers. Shockingly, Mark Sterling came to the High Flyers’ aid and began punching Gage Octane and Casanova and grabbed Todd Countryman by the throat and hoisted him over his head to huge cheers from the crowd!
Devin Carter quickly ran to the ring with a steel chair to even the odds and Octane and Casanova called off the assault…only for Carter to swing the chair at Sterling’s face!
And Sterling caught the chair! Octane and Casanova quickly jumped Sterling and the NEW Gentlemen’s Club of Octane, Casanova and Carter viciously assaulted Sterling with the High Flyers still laying on the mat.
The assault culminated with Carter and Casanova each grabbing one of Sterling’s arms as he kneeled on the mat. Octane stood in front of Sterling with the steel chair raised above his head, taunting Sterling. An irate Sterling spit in Octane’s face…and Octane crushed Sterling’s skull with the steel chair with Sterling unable to move his arms up to protect himself!
The new Gentlemen’s Club of Carter, Octane, Casanova and Todd Countryman stood tall and began to celebrate, only to be chased out of the ring by Jimmy Rockwell and Maddog McDowell.
The event ended with 3XW staff attending to Sterling and carrying him out of the arena using the announce table as a makeshift stretcher.
Due to taking the steel chair to the head, Sterling suffered serious head and neck injuries and is expected to be out of action for quite some time due to the viciousness of the Gentlmen’s Club.

Golden Circle: Missing Moondog By Greg Anthony
Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 14, 2010
By Greg Anthony
The other night here in town I ran into James Booker, one of Moondog Spot’s sons, we chit chatted, talked a little wrestling, shook hands and said goodbye. As he was walking away I began thinking how much his Dad helped me. I thought about how much his Dad helped a lot of us in this area. Everyone here has a “Moondog Story” and that’s why I and I’m sure alot of you out there are missing Moondog.
Larry was truly a class act, he was business but not a prick about it. When I the opportunity to work with him he was at a time trying to teach young guys the importance of the old school way. He was trying the best he knew how to teach guys respect for the business he had given his life to. Some took his words to heart, others were just hard headed or at least they thought they were until Moondog Spot swung something at them.
Nobody cared more, knew more or made more out of their gimmick than Moondog Spot. He knew without any doubt how a “moondog” should be presented to the crowd. And he wasn’t afraid to tell people when they had it wrong. I first hand saw the difference between doing it right and doing it wrong. I saw Larry let a promoter book him one way, then I saw the difference when Larry booked it the way he felt it should be. The difference was undeniable.
Larry and I worked a program with each other for 4 months. Larry had little ways of testing you, to see if you had what it took. We did a pull apart during this time and he had two handfuls of my hair as wrestlers were trying to pull him away, it was yanking on my every so tender head. For ,I swear, a straight 5 minutes he had me by the hair as tears welled up in my eyes. When the actually “pull apart” actually happened I headed to the back. My scalp was throbbing, it hurt like crazy. Larry came to the back and said “They were really trying to pull me away, so I had to grab your hair.. that was a shoot, are you ok?”. I shook his hand and said “I’m fine, felt fine.. thank you.”
That’s the way he tested a lot of us. Some guys would get hit with chairs, boards, exc… and just cower away and that’s when he’d really hit them. When Larry hit me, I hit him just as hard. Larry didn’t want anyone to cower away, he wanted you to stand up and work with him. That’s how you earned his respect. Some thought just by taking his hits, that was his respect, that wasn’t the case. He joked about those that would just go out there and let him eat their lunch.
I remember the night he passed away. Chris Rocker got the call from Will Gibson that Larry had a heart attack working a match in Memphis, he never took his medicine from https://www.ukmeds.co.uk/treatments/beta-blockers/propranolol-tablets-10mg/ so he couldn’t prevent it. We didn’t know the extent of it all yet, we just kind of were in shock. When news came that he had actually passed away it was a tough thing for all of us. I went to the funeral, as we all did, to pay our respects. Larry was well respected and it showed on that day. There were legends there and they openly wept for their friend as did I and knowing Larry like I did, I know that he wouldn’t have wanted to leave his family that early but I know in my heart that he found solace that he died doing what he loved. We all could only be that lucky, I promise.

MWR announces 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient: Larry Matysik
Posted by reimaginejournalism on February 13, 2010
By Kari Williams
Missouri Wrestling Revival is very proud to present Larry Matysik with our newest award, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Larry has been a staple of the St. Louis wrestling scene since his days doing play-by-play for Wrestling at the Chase. He worked closely with Wrestling at the Chase promoter Sam Muchnick for the bulk of his career. When things began to go downhill in St. Louis, Larry was hired on by Vince McMahon and worked with WWE for 10 years. His contributions to not only St. Louis wrestling, but the entire wrestling community, are nothing short of spectacular.
Larry is also the author of three books: Wrestling at the Chase, Brody and Drawing Heat the Hard Way: How Wrestling Really Works. However, nothing I can say will fully grasp the magnitude of Larry’s dedication to, and love for, the wrestling business. Regardless of all its faults and low points, Larry cannot stay away. It’s in his blood. It always has been, and it always will be. It is with great honor, that we present Larry Matysik, my mentor and friend, with the first-ever MWR Lifetime Achievement Award.

B.A.B.Ewatch no more ?
Posted by flairwhoooooo on February 11, 2010
By Brian “Flair” Kelley
When 2009 started B.A.B.Ewatch’s Brandon Espinosa and Brandon Aarons were one of the top tag teams. Both men have a great wrestling mind, hard work ethic, raw talent and confidence that it looked as B.A.B.Ewatch would be the future of our sport for years to come.
You never know your partner till you go through the rough times. Throughout last year tough losses and miscommunication followed the two wherever they went. On November 14th Missouri Wrestling Revival gave them their toughest test to date an the MWR Pro Wrestling Showcase when they were set to take on the 2008 MWR Tag team of the Year The Northstar Express (Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz) to prove to the wrestling world that they could live up to the hype that many felt they deserved. At times in the match it looked as if they were about to get over that hump to be among the top teams in wrestling today. When the dust settled the Northstar Express had their hands raised as they pinned Brandon Espinosa leaving the team at odds even more so than before.
Recently the ST Louis Wrestling Community caught up with Brandon Espinosa. Espinosa expressed his distaste in his former friend and partner.
After the match at the MWR Showcase it was announced that Aarons and Espinosa would go one on one in a match at the High Voltage Wrestling show this past December 5th.
Let’s Take a look at the MWR archives and see some exclusive footage backstage with B.A.B.Ewatch member Brandon Aarons talking to the Northstar Express after their battle at the MWR Pro wrestling showcase to get a glimpse of the frustration that the young Aarons was having after Espinosa left the building right after the match.
The match at December 5th would not go as plan due to a scheduling conflict.
These two are bound to finally meet each other in the ring soon as Espinosa has let his feelings be addressed known in the middle of the ring at IHW and anyone that will listen.
Look for these two partners to go at it in 2010 in a feud that will be one that you will not want to miss.
