Most recently Richards challenged Ring of Honor World Champion Tyler Black for the title on June 19 at Death Before Dishonor VIII Internet PPV. Black would be able to survive in a war worthy of MOTY, but like all great wrestlers even in defeat the match only added to the legend of Richards.

Davey Richards returns to the Midwest this Friday in Collinsville Illinois in a rematch against Generation Me (the former Young Bucks).

Straight from the Ring of Honor website lets take a look at this and ROH’S historic tour throughout the Midwest .

ROH officials announced on June 1st (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/bangforbucks/) that Generation Me (the former Young Bucks) were making their return to Ring of Honor competition on July 23rd and 24th in Collinsville, IL and Chicago Ridge, IL respectively.

Last night, ROH officials finalized the first of Max and Jeremy Buck’s opponents; a team that GenMe wanted to face more than any other in Ring of Honor, the men that beat them in their last Ring of Honor appearance at “SoCal Showdown” (available on DVD ) – Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards – The American Wolves!

On that January night in Los Angeles, Eddie Edwards made Jeremy Buck tap out to the Achilles Lock and that loss has eaten up GenMe for months now. “We know in our hearts that we’re better than The American Wolves,” said Jeremy. “We know we can beat Eddie and Davey, and we know July 23rd will be our night.” Max added, “We have kept our eyes on Ring of Honor. We know Eddie and Davey have been wrapped up in their individual pursuits as of late and I know my brother and I have elevated our skills as a team to a whole new level. We are better than ever, and in St. Louis – Davey Richards’ adopted hometown mind you – we will prove that these young bucks, Generation Me, has always been the better team.”

It’s Generation Me vs. The American Wolves! Don’t miss the cutting edge of tag team wrestling as it comes to the St. Louis area!

Brandon Aarons is one of the hottest young stars in the Midwest today

Since defeating Gary J in the semi finals then outlasting Billy McNeil, Adam Rich, & Eric Allen to claim the IHW first ever St Lois Wrestling Invitational cup on June 14th

2010 has been a banner year for the young star since he parted ways in the very talented tag team B.A.B.EWatch with partner Brandon Espinosa. Big wins against would follow him and on February 6th Brandon Aarons defeated Mephisto, Sean Vincent, Billy McNeil, Eric Allen, & Steven Kennedy to become the NEW IHW champion

Aarons has been on a red hot streak since then racking up wins against the likes of Steven Kennedy and Eric Allen plus the big win against the Pro Wrestling Epic US Champion and 2009 MWR Wrestler of the Year Mark Sterling in Mt Pulaski Illinois.

He would become a MWR  Triple Crown winner by upsetting Kansas City Killer and 2009 PWI Rookie of the Year Mike Sydal to become the High Voltage Wrestling Livewire Champion at NWA Dynamo Wrestling.

Just last month Brandon Aarons step up to the plate to take on the Ring of Honor World Champion Tyler Black at PWE in an impressive showing before “The Apex” Blake Steel attacked him (Aarons) thus giving the PWE US Champion a bittersweet victory over the World Champion.

The best is yet to come for this rising Midwest star. It is with great pleasure that we announce that the MWR Trading card number 15 is “Irresistible” Brandon Aarons.

MWR Trading Card #14 “The Future” Donovan Ruddick

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 20, 2010

"The Future" Donovan Ruddick (Mike Van Hoogstraat)

BIG, POWERFUL and dominating are three words that describe Donovan Ruddick. No wrestler in the Midwest is more feared than the man called the 6”9 monster.

The former High Voltage Wrestling champion was honored in the 2009 Pro Wrestling Illustrated top 500 wrestlers with great matches with the 2008 MWR wrestler of the Year Jeremy Wyatt, Gary Jay, Rebelucha and Kahagas while being led at times by the Magic Man.

People with power have always gravitated to greatness and that is why when he parted ways with the Magic Man, managers looking to get to the top have quickly “leached” or signed on to lead him to the top of the sport. At MMWA-SICW “The Manager of Champions” Travis Cook just this past month had Ruddick within seconds of defeating Dave Vaughn for the coveted title.

Then shocking developments at Pro Wrestling Epicsaw Ruddick turn on his good friend the Mississippi Madman then aligned himself with up and coming manager Mr. Late Nite. That decision would prove wise for a quick moment when Mr. Late Nite signed an immediate title shot for Ruddick against the HWC Champion Jimmy Karryt. Karryt would show true heart but the odds and the true power of Ruddick would be too much for the young star on that night.

Fans will be looking forward to the clash between the Mississippi Madman and a rematch from the “Wrestling Machine” Dave Vaughn to end the year but you will not have to wait to get your hands on this MWR Card featuring the wrestler many feel that lives up to his name and is the Future of Pro Wrestling. Donovan Ruddick.

#1 The Northstar Express Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz– 2008 MWR Tag team of the Year.
#2 Mark Sterling– 2009 MWR Wrestler of the Year.
#3 The Hooligans Devin and Mason Cutter -2009 MWR Tag Team of the Year
#4 MsChif– 2009 MWR Female of the Year
#5 Mike Sydal – 2009 PWI Rookie of the Year

#7 Santana G –Seen on TNA

The MWR Families thoughts and prayers go out to Mickey Garagolia

Posted by flairwhoooooo on July 19, 2010

Back in the saddle one more time were ST Louis Hall of Fame members Larry Matysik and Mickey Garagolia last month at MMWA-SICW (Photo Credit Mike Van Hioogstraat)

Everyone here at Missouri Wrestling Revival would like to send out our thoughts and prayers to the pro wrestling ring announcer and commentator Mickey Garagolia and we all hope for a speedy recovery who at the time is in the hospital.

Mickey’s brother Joe was a beloved figure in the St Louis community for his time playing for the ST Louis Cardinals while becoming a World Series Champion in 1946 defeating the Boston Red Sox. When his career was through he became the first play by play announcer for Wrestling at the Chase along side Larry Matysik .

Mickey would join his brother to work with Sam Muchnick as a ring announcer and commentary while becoming an important piece in the puzzle of why St Louis was the standard of Pro Wrestling for so many years.

Throughout the years Wrestling at the Chase was the third most watched show in St louis trailing only local news and the ST Louis Cardinals Baseball games.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Garagolia name was  important to the success of wrestling at the time, due to the fact that so many people respected baseball that when Joe and Mickey were involved in wrestling it brought positive attention to sport from a town that will always be proud to be considered a baseball town .

In 2007 the St Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame inducted Mickey in the Hall of Fame along with greats such as Penny Banner, Lou Thesz, Harley Race, Larry Matysik, Gene Kiniski, King Kong Brody, Dick the Bruiser, Ric Flair, Bill Longson, Sam Muchnick, Pat O’ Conner, Joe Schoenberger, Johnny Valentine, and Fritz Von Erich.

Most recently Mickey was on hand at MMWA-SICW in East Carondelet to help celebrate 51 Years of Wrestling at the Chase with friends Herb Simmons and Larry Matysik.

Once again we wish one of Pro wrestling’s great supporters the best and hope to see him at a show real soon.

NWA Dynamo Pro 6-26-10 recap

Posted by reimaginejournalism on July 19, 2010

By Kari Williams and Patrick Brandmeyer

With a packed house, Dynamo Pro put on what could be one of the best shows of the year thus far. A main event featuring Pete Madden and Mike Sharona against Nikki Strychnine and Makaze, and NWA Women’s Champion MsChif putting her belt on the line against Billy McNeil contributed to the aforementioned claim.

Dan Walsh won a four-corner match with Jack Gamble, Eathon Wright, and Cancun Kid. Gamble, Wright and Kid are regulars with Harley Race’s WLW promotion. After an action-packed matchup, Walsh pinned Kid after the Designated Driver.

Pete Madden and Mike Sharona (sporting brand-new Syndicate T-shirts) came out to enlighten the masses. Madden wanted a great wrestling match, but Nikki Strychnine and Makaze had to attack them at the training center and make it personal once again.

Tyler Cook faced an uphill battle against a much larger opponent in Alexandre Rudolph. However, Cook’s experience proved to be the difference-maker as he forced the big man to tap out to an octopus-style submission hold; Rudolph attacked Cook after the matchup, so it looks like their issue is not quite over.

In what somehow turned into a championship match, MsChif defeated Billy McNeil to retain the NWA World and NWA Midwest Women’s Titles. McNeil had MsChif set up for the Trigger Effect v2.0 but MsChif swatted the referee’s glasses off his face before blinding McNeil with the green mist. MsChif picked up the win with the Desecrator.

The war between the Bumrush Brothers (OutKast and Shorty Biggs) and the Ego Express (K.C. Karrington and “Spoiled” Steven Kennedy) continued their rivalry in the following contest. The Egos did everything in their power to cheat their way to victory, but Biggs and OutKast would not allow to happen so easily. The teams battled back and forth, but Karrington ultimately propelled his team toward a win by throwing baby powder—which the ring announcer tossed to him—into the eyes of Biggs.

Jeremy Wyatt battled NWA Missouri Champion “Spitfire” Davey Vega for Vega’s championship. These two stellar athletes went hold for hold, and Wyatt nearly wrestled the title away from Vega, but with the fans behind Vega, he would not let the gold slip from his grasp so easily. The champ had just about put the challenger away when Mark Sterling interfered on Wyatt’s behalf. Trent Stone made the save, and as a result, Stone and Vega will team up against Wyatt and Sterling on July 24.

Stone and Sterling continued battling into their match, which put Sterling’s NWA Central States Championship on the line. Both men went all out for the championship, taking the match out of the ring and delivering high impact move after high impact move in hopes of emerging as the victor. Though Stone looked poised for the win, Sterling side-stepped a second spear attempt and stole the match with a roll-up while holding the tights for leverage.

Pete Madden and Mike Sharona waged war Nikki Strychnine and Makaze in the highly-anticipated main event. After Strychnine gave a foreboding speech, all hell broke loose—literally. Chaos ensued as all four men wanted to get at each other’s throats. Bodies were flying every which way, proving that not one of these athletes lost a step in their time away from the ring. They went s far as to knock out the referee, causing Kory Twist to run from the back and ref the remainder of the match. Battling chairs, ladders, tables and being bashed into the metal railing, Sharona and Madden emerged from the fray successful, taking nothing away from the remarkable efforts of Makaze and Strychnine.

Dynamo Pro will return to The Game in Glen Carbon, Ill. on July 24.
