The offices of Saint Louis Anarchy and Anarchy Championship Wrestling received an email from Johnny Gargano stating that himself and his Team FIST cohort Chuck Taylor would like to send an open challenge to any team in the land of Anarchy for a tag match on May 5th in Granite City, IL.
The reason being that he feels that him and Chuck Taylor need to stay on their winning ways after picking up 3 points toward the Chikara’s Campeonatos de parejas(Tag Team Championships). The best way to do that is to beat teams from all over the USA and their first stop is Saint Louis Anarchy on May 5th.
Their challenge didn’t go unanswered for long, as Evan Gelistico and Pierre Abernathy caught wind of this and immediately signed on for the match. Neither of those men would give us a answer via e-mail but have informed us that they will be giving a statement via video in the coming days.
This is sure to be a great tag match as you will have one of the best teams in the USA taking on who many say is the best tag team in the history of Anarchy. Do not miss #VICTORY May 5th!!!

The company’s flagship television series “Collision” returned to the airwaves of WSIL-TV 3 last Saturday, and the season premiere episode is now online at youtube.com/aapwcollision.
That same day, AAPW presented Hands Across Harrisburg, a special benefit show for victims of the deadly Feb. 29 tornado in Saline County, Ill., that claimed seven lives.
More than 150 fans turned out to support the cause. Two first-round No Limits tournament matches – Jay Spade vs. Matt Cage and Joey O’Riley vs. Christian Rose – were taped that day for “Collision.”

In other action, Bull Bronson continued his winning streak by putting down “Farmer” Billy Hills; Justice and Ace Hawkins overcame the odds to defeat The Convoy and Dave Osborne; and Mike Masters and “Old School Warrior” Ax Allwardt ruined Heath Hatton’s shot at the AAPW Heavyweight Championship.

Company officials are considering the event a success, as the overall Hands Across Harrisburg event raised several thousands of dollars.
Now, this Saturday, AAPW will debut its new webseries,”All-Access,” on YouTube and returns to action for the second “Collision” taping of the season at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse in Marion, Ill. Bell time is 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21.

The State of Missouri is proudly represented in Las Vegas at the 2012 Cauliflower Alley Club reunion.

It’s hard to believe that Harley Race, one of the greatest wrestlers in the world much less Missouri is not a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield, Missouri. Race an 8-time World Champion, a member of almost every wrestling Hall of Fame in the world is not even a member of the hall of fame of the state that he grew up in.
Race has supported the communities around the state of Missouri and the Midwest with fundraisers with his wrestling promotion for over 10 years. My concern became even more bothersome when I traveled to Iowa for a couple of wrestling shows. On the way to Council Bluffs, Iowa from Des Moines, Iowa was the small town of Van Meter, Iowa. It so happen to be the home of Baseball great Bob Feller. In a small town of 1,700 was this awesome museum that kept the memories alive of the hometown boy who went on to sign with the Cleveland Indians and became a first ballot MLB Hall of Famer.

Even though I only knew the name of Bob Feller, I always respected him as a HOF. His museum was able to teach me on the life of not only one of Iowa’s great athletes but one of the world’s best. Though I am a Cardinal fan that bleeds red, the Bob Feller museum was a true treat for the sports fan in me.
The museum isn’t huge but is worthy of a man who worked hard to become one of the greatest ball players of all-time. As I continued my drive, it got me thinking about an article that my friend Matt Murphy had done called Missouri Sports Hall of Fame snubs pro wrestling. Murphy wrote a polite letter to the Missouri Hall of Fame asking why has wrestling greats like Race been ignored?
To read the answers that Matt Murphy got along with his great article click here.
The more I thought about it the more I became concerned that when Race is gone (hopefully a long long long time from now) will the state just forget all that he has done for the state of Missouri, much less wrestling? Where will all the great photos of Race with the greats in wrestling and beyond end up?
Most likely some will end up in Waterloo, Iowa which has a great hall of fame for wrestlers and that would be appropriate for them to have some but I’d love for there to be a home to celebrate Race in Eldon, Missouri or St. Louis that would also be worthy of a man who has been a legend in the sport. While I envision the museum to be The Harley Race Wrestling Museum, the men he fought with and against would be remembered as well. It would be great to see men like Rufus R Jones , Trevor Murdock and Bob Geigel not forgotten or just a mention in someone’s autobiography. How great it would be to have two rooms with great wrestling action going on as Race would be battling Bulldog Bob Brown in Central States Wrestling as Bill Kersten calling the action and another room with Wrestling at the Chase’s Larry Matysik calling a Race and Flair matchup.
I have some great friends who are talented that I know would make the building have enough class and interaction for the fans young and old. This would be awesome
Oh but I am a dreamer, just a guy that can barely keep the MWR site going day to day but if I had the funds know darn well I would work to keep the history of wrestling from KC to STL alive for generations to come.
Sorry about getting away from the subject at hand, the truth is I love Cardinal baseball, football, college basketball and many more sports. Still Race deserves to be in the Sports Hall of Fame while he is alive. Without a doubt that Harley Race should be welcome along with the greats such as Lou Thesz, Sam Muchnick, Stan the Man, Lou Brock and Ken Boyer.

Starr, Webster, Kertsen, Lauer honored at CAC Baloney Blowout By Greg Oliver

LAS VEGAS – The main meal of the evening may have been cold cuts at the Cauliflower Alley Club Baloney Blowout, but the real deal was a surprisingly touching and emotional roast.
Feted was outgoing CAC Executive Vice President Karl Lauer, who had served the club for 32 years, seeing it grow from 500 members to its current status, with more than 8,000 in the organization.
Having had a recent health scare at his home in Rolla, Missouri — he brought his heart surgeon along as a thank you — Lauer made one last trek to Las Vegas’ Gold Coast Hotel & Casino for an event centred around him.

3XW fan Joe Mastin “The New Belt Collector” in the Midwest.
Posted by flairwhoooooo on April 17, 2012

3XW and Metro Pro Wrestling announcer Midnight Guthrie, Asteroid belts owner Eric Konecne, along with Joe and Hope Mastin and Wrestling star Ryan Slade pose with the autograph belt won along with autographs from the Iron Man competitors Mark Sterling and Jeremy Wyatt.
One wild night in Des Moines, Iowa leads to some dramatic weather of sorts in atmosphere. No, it didn’t rain inside the Forte Ballroom at All Play, but lightning did strike twice in the building. Here’s what happened, as described by one bystander on hand during the much hyped 3XW “Final Countdown 2” event, boasting the main event of 3XW champion “Iron Man” Mark Sterling putting the belt on the line against “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt in a rematch from their January 2011 blockbuster.
“Just before the Ironman main event, the lights went down and ring announcer Daryl Moon called for the “lucky ticket.” We will soon find out how lucky that ticket really was.”
No, not the record setting Mega Millions lottery ticket, but a raffle ticket drawn for the commemorative Ironman 2 title belt created by Asteroid Belt Company.
“The crowd was hushed and then it happened. Moon rattled off the numbers; a silence was broken when it happened, you know, the lightning striking twice.”

In January, Joe Mastin was lucky enough to have the lucky ticket to get an autograph belt from then 4-time NWA World Champion Adam Pearce and Jeremy Wyatt.
Sure enough, Joe Mastin let out a whoop and held up his ticket, claiming his 2nd belt raffle in a row! Many may remember Joe as the winner of the commemorative NWA-3XW title belt made by Asteroid Belt Company, marking the occasion of the NWA title match in January between then-NWA Champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce and Jeremy Wyatt.
“And All Play’s Forte Ballroom will forever be the birthplace of the new Belt Collector, Joe Mastin.”
So the legend goes that sometime in the near future, another title belt could make its way to town and then the world will wait in a hush as a ticket is drawn and you can bet that all eyes will be upon the Belt Collector…

IWAP update for this Saturday with former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero, Jr!!!
Posted by flairwhoooooo on April 17, 2012
Professional wrestling fans get ready! Former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero, Jr. is set to headline the action this Saturday as the Wabash Valley College Student Senate and IWA Productions present professional wrestling action at the WVC Spencer Sports Center in Mt. Carmel.
Jerry the King Lawler was originally scheduled to headline the event, but Student Senate Faculty Sponsor Kyle Peach said Lawler cancelled at the last minute due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict with the WWE.
“We were disappointed that Lawler had to back out, but are excited that we could find such a top-notch superstar as Chavo Guerrero to headline our show,” Peach said.
Tickets are still available by calling (618)262-8641, stopping by the Wabash Valley College Student Services Office, visiting http://www.iwaproductions.com , or by contacting any Student Senate member. Tickets will also be available at the door on Saturday.
“We wanted to make sure we had a unique, fun, and entertaining event that would be suitable for not only students, but all members in the community. It’s an event that hasn’t been in Mt. Carmel in years, and we think everyone will have a great time,” Peach said.
Not only will there be a full slate of wrestling action, but Senate members will also be selling concessions, and a 50/50 drawing will take place. Wrestlers will also be available to sign autographs and offer photo opportunities. The wrestling show will also serve as the Student Senate’s main fundraiser this year. “We do a lot of community service work both on campus and out in the community, and fundraisers like this help make it all possible,” Peach said.
According to Peach, the Student Senate is planning to embark on a beautification project on Market Street in Mt. Carmel before the school year ends next month. “We encourage everyone to come out and have a good time with us on Saturday,” Peach said
