Official Missouri Rankings Update: Are You Howling at #1?

Posted by Ben Simon on March 6, 2015

MO Rankings

By Ben Simon

Heading into March, MWR’s computerized ranking system has a surprising leader.  Believe it or not, the metrics say #1 Moondog Rover is the best wrestler in Missouri.

For details on how the rankings work, read the Introduction

Head over to the MO Rankings page for the seventh (and latest) publication.  To qualify for the Top 10, a wrestler must have the highest ratings with consistent activity (RD ≤ 200).  Rankings are published every two months.

Rover is the only newcomer to the Missouri Top 10.  Ousted entirely this month is former top dog Jake Dirden.  Jake had concentrated on a tag team campaign with Jackal, thus he has been inactive as a singles competitor.  Now that Dirdey has turned on his partner, look for an immediate return to the rankings next period.

#2 Mike Outlaw continues to make believers out of his critics.  The Dynamo Pro Champion jumps up four rungs for recent victories over Ken Kasa and Brandon Espinosa.

#3 Gary Jackson is on the best win streak of any of his contemporaries.  Jackson jumps four spots after A.J. Williams was forced to tap to Gary’s Texas Cloverleaf.  Jackson also was gifted a controversial disqualification victory over MMWA Heavyweight Champion Da’Marius Jones.

Bruiser Brody – Way Outta Line Caricatures by Jaime Baker

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 4, 2015

Missouri Wrestling Revival is excited to work with another great artist to honor the wrestlers of the past, today and future. For the very first time here on the MWR site we have artwork by Way Outta Line Caricatures from Jaime Baker. It is hard pressed to find a true wrestling fan that does not love Bruiser Brody and Bakers’ Brody promises to be a favorite for years to come.

It has been no secret that Brody is a personal favorite of ours, as well as many around the world. In the past we have had the privilege of having the blessings of his wife, Barbara Goodish to produce our very own MWR Trading card of Brody. That card had it all. It featured the bio of Brody, thanks to his good friend and HOF himself Larry Matysik. Matysik was the Co-author of Brodys’ book, Brody, along with Goodish, so it was perfect to have the bio come from a man who were truly friends with one of the wrestlings true rebels. We were thrilled to also have Brody artwork front and back on the card from our very good friend Rob Schamberger.

We continued to honor him in the 2013 MWR Yearbook, as Ron McCaffery III, done an awesome full page spread of Brody.

2015 continues to prove that though the years pass, wrestling fans will never forget the one and only Bruiser Brody. This April at the Cauliflower Alley Club 50TH Year Anniversary Brody’s wife Barbara will be accepting the CAC Posthumous award in Las Vegas.

For fans in the MWR Coverage area SICW Promoter Herb Simmons is working hard for a must attend event Saturday May 16th “The Bruiser Brody Memorial” which will be held in conjunction with the 56 Anniversary of the Wrestling at the Chase. Barbara will return to the St. Louis Area along with Brody’s former partner Stan Hansen.

With all that great news in 2015, I was excited to see a special caricature of Bruiser Brody thanks to the talented Jamie Baker.

Congrats to Blue Pants (Leva Bates) from Missouri Wrestling Revival

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 4, 2015

There are times in the world where the hard work from good people are rewarded. I want to share this great interview with WWE’s Blue Pants (Leva Bates) who has been making a splash for WWE’S NXT on the WWE Network. To be honest, I have never met her, nor have we spoke on the phone, yet one day I was scrolling down Facebook when I noticed that she was doing a Q and A via video for her fans that had sent in questions to her. I quickly noticed how much she cared for her fans as the answered questions about wrestling and various “geek” contents, while having fun at the same time. I knew that she had talent in the ring, but from that moment, I was a fan of the future Blue Pants as a person.

So I reached out to her to see if she would be interested in being a part of the second series of MWR Trading cards as I felt she would be a great talent to have in the set. I was excited to hear back from her shortly after that. We were able to producing a great Leva Bates collectible for all of her fans with the great photography of Tiffany Browning .

Once again, her and I are not personal friends, but I am grateful that she was willing to support MWR in the past. Since then, she has continued to reach for the stars to live her dream. I hope that this is just the beginning of her rocket to the top of the sport and we will see an official WWE Trading card of the girl in BLUE PANTS.

Till then enjoy this interview by Anthony Benigno on the WWE Website by clicking here.

A 6 Pack of questions with Guns and Beer

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 4, 2015

 photo gampb_zpsoqadqatv.jpg

“Joedozer” Joey Anderson, Duke Cornell, Bo Gott

It can be hard at times to keep up with the fast living and hell raising tag team Guns and Beer, but we here at MWR was able to catch up with the with one of the hottest rising stars in the Midwest for a quick 6 pack of questions. We hope this  prepares the Dynamo Pro Wrestling fans for what to expect when country comes to the city for some exciting wrestling action this Saturday Night.

1): Guys, it’s great to have you here. Let’s get started. How long have you guys been a team?

Well Brian, we’ve been tagging together since late 2012. We were asked by our cousins, Brian Gott and Derek Cornell, if we would like to take there bookings since they were going on a little hiatus. Then about 2014 we added “Joedozer” Joey Anderson to the group. Together we’ve been running wild in the Midwest independent scene.

2) Who have been some of the guys that you have wrestled?

Let’s see here, we’ve fought the Hooligans, The Viking War Party, and the Country just to name a few. We’ve also tangled up with the Black Hand Warriors.

3) Out of those teams, who has been the toughest?

All of them put up a good fight. We can’t pick just one.

4) In your spare time, what do you guys like to do outside of wrestling?

We like to drink, hunt, fish, go to the shooting ranger (our backyard) and go to any of the local bars to find find the toughest guys in there. We like to fight most importantly. Keeps us on our toes.

5) What is your favorite type of beer?

Anything domestic, light, and cold

6) What can fans expect to see this Saturday night in Fenton, Mo as they challenge one of your arch rivals Black Hand Warriors.
