New Pro Wrestling Epic Champion- It’s all about Brandon Aarons

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 16, 2015

 photo PWEMAR2015-4_zpsfsus1qrh.jpg

Leone Mephisto was beside himself, almost to the point of insane about the attention that the Midwest heartthrob Brandon Aarons had received heading into the tournament to crown the new Pro Wrestling Epic Championship in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. In February, thousands of fans flocked to the Missouri Wrestling Revival web site to vote him as the 2015 MWR Sexiest Male of the Year. When MWR took the time to feature Aarons prior to the event on the site with 10 questions on his career and the upcoming tournament, Mephisto took exception that he was not mentioned at all as a threat to the title.

Any other time an opportunity to be honored by the fans with a trophy, would be a wonderful experience, but when it was announced to Aarons that he would be presented with the trophy prior to his match against Steven Kennedy, there was some buzz from several of the other wrestlers that felt that Aarons’ needed to be knock off of his pedestal.

In the first round, the high flyer Billy McNeil used his speed and experience to defeat the Sean Orleans protégé Laurence Johnson via a frog splash from the top rope to head into the finals of the PWE tournament.

 photo PWEMAR2015-42_zpsz7rcd0mn.jpg

The second match would feature Danny Adams and Curt Stallion in what could be their biggest match up to that point. On this night, Adams would get the victory to move forward in the tournament, but there is no doubt that you have heard the last of Stallion.

 photo PWEMAR2015-93_zpsapmy06vh.jpg

Leone Mephistos crazed obsession with Brandon Aarons was apparent from the moment he came to the ring for his match against Everett Connors. Mephisto continued to call him Brandon, before and after of the dismantling of the rookie for the win.

 photo PWEMAR2015-141_zpsdbp9zets.jpg

Mephisto was not the only one that took exception to Aarons getting attention. As MWR Fan relations Dubray Tallman was presenting the MWR Sexiest Male trophy to Aarons, Steven Kennedy came to the ring demanding to know why he was not declared to be the winner.
 photo PWEMAR2015-182_zpsgmysia35.jpg

Even though he was told that he was not even nominated to be named the Sexiest Wrestler, Kennedy would hear none of it.

Within moments the battle was on for the final spot in the championship main event match. The two had battled many times before and knew each others tendencies as they matched each others moves with a counter strike.

 photo PWEMAR2015-259_zpsoxvi1jpw.jpg

In the end it would be a vicious super kick from Aarons as Kennedy was on his knees that would send the Sexiest Wrestler of the year to the finals.

The final four way match would be an elimination style until one man was standing and thus would be named the new Pro Wrestling Epic Champion. With a vengeance Mephisto attacked Aarrons as McNeil and Adams tore into each other.

 photo PWEMAR2015-423_zpsgnlciryd.jpg

McNeil would soar early from the ring onto all 3 men on the outside to get the edge, but his night would be over just as quick when Adams used his feet for leverage on the ropes to illegally eliminate McNeil.

Aarons was in deep trouble as Mephisto and Aarons made a pact to take him out two on one. The two delivered heavy punishment in and out of the ring, including chair shots that left the star battered and bloodied. Yet, it would be Mephisto’s obsession that would leave an opening for Aarons to strike. As Adams went to eliminate Aarons, Mephisto stopped Adams, yelling that he was the one that had to eliminate him. Adams was not happy about at all, and the friendship was over.

During the battle between Adams and Mephisto, Adams was able to get the edge once again only to have Aarons surprise him with a small package to end Adams quest for the PWE title. Once eliminated, Mephisto’s psychotic tendencies came into play as he slid Adams a chair and instructed him to finish Aarons off. At first , it seemed as if Adams would decline the offer to administer the pain, but with Mephisto in his ear he snapped and began brutally beating a bloodied helpless Aarons as Mephisto looked on with a smile on his face.

 photo PWEMAR2015-484_zpslnstbi9y.jpg

After Adams was finished with his assault, Mephisto went for what he was hoping be the final pin of the match, but Aarons wouldn’t give up. Mephisto did not miss a beat as he continued his brutality on Aarons as he drove him from the apron head first through chairs that had been set up early on during the match on the outside of the ring.

 photo PWEMAR2015-514_zpsqh1tkv8u.jpg

As the fans looked on shocked and in disbelief Mephisto drug Aarons lifeless body into the ring only to again see their hero refuse to give up kicking out after a long 2 count.

Mephisto full of rage and hate, now with Aarons blood smeared on his face, went to the top rope and attempted an aerial assault in the form of a moonsault.

 photo PWEMAR2015-522_zpsaiv6wham.jpg

Aarons quick thinking ,even with a possible concussion, avoided the move hitting a short range Superkick as soon Mephisto came to his knees, this time however it was Mephisto who wouldn’t give up proving that he could take it just as much as he could dish it out.

 photo PWEMAR2015-527_zpsh6f0dovl.jpg

Aarons attempted to pick Mephisto to deliver a burning hammer for the win, only to receive a shot below the belt which nearly set up Mephisto to deliver the same move that defeated Everett Connors early in the night. Aarons agility allowed him to avoid the move and rock Mephisto with one last Superkick sending him into the ropes. Though Mephisto was reeling he still struggled to latch onto Aarons to regain the advantage. Yet, it would be Aarons who would counter by locking in a beautiful Cobra Clutch Style Suplex that finally allowed him to defeat the man who had been taunting him for months and secure Himself as the New PWE Champion!

“Ten Pounds of Gold: Santana Garrett” via Alliance-Wrestling.com

By Scott Brown

Welcome to “Ten Pounds of Gold”, where I, your host, Scott Brown, give you a chance to get to know the best wrestlers in the National Wrestling Alliance, personally. On February 7, 2015 Santana Garrett defeated Barbi Hayden for the NWA Women’s Championship. Since then she has consistently been one of the best wrestlers, man or woman, in the world, week in and week out. I recently had the pleasure to have a discussion with her about her career, her life and the future.

Scott Brown: What is the best memory you have of growing up with a pro wrestler for a father?

Santana Garrett:
My dad didn’t start wrestling until I was in middle school but that was always our bonding experience. Coming from a big family, finding a niche like that with my dad was something I always treasured. It brought us together. He’s one of my biggest supporters!

Scott Brown:
What is the best thing about your roommate, Larry Zbyszko?

Santana Garrett: Everyone knows about Larry. From his feud with Bruno Sammartino and Shea Stadium to saving Nitro from the New World World, he’s a wealth of knowledge. But the best thing about having Larry as a roommate, he’s the best puppy sitter for our dog, Charlie!

Tag Team Heaven on March 21st at PGP in Petersburg, Illinois

Posted by flairwhoooooo on March 14, 2015

 photo PROVING GROUND PRO_zps6xrlbplk.jpg

First Team Announced for CHALLENGE ACCEPTED Tag Tournament

The Perfect Addiction Perry Winkle and Randy Ray

Proving Ground Pro’s March 21st event includes an 8 team tag tournament to fill the vacant PGP tag titles.

The first team in the field is The Perfect Addiction consisting of Perry Winkle and Randy Ray. The longest running pairing in the Proving Ground see this tournament as the “perfect” opportunity to make that experience pay off in a big way. The P.A. has great teamwork and isn’t afraid to throw the rulebook out, often along with Addiction cohorts Mario Crivello and Lucy Mendez. They’ve been creating havoc since their inception with a cocky “anything to win “ attitude, expect that to continue on March 21st. The Perfect Addiction have worked towards this since they debuted, looking to cement their reputation with the sway and pay of a tag team championship.

The Regulators signed as second team for March 21st Tag Tournament

Proving Ground Pro’s tag team tournament at CHALLENGE ACCEPTED is adding The Regulators(Ron Mathis and Aaron Williams) to the field of 8 teams. This should be taken as bad news by the rest of the field, The Regulators are simply put, serious ass kickers. Ron Mathis has carved a reputation in CZW, IWA Mid South and more, leaving a lengthy list of victims in his wake. Mathis is flat out tough, this guy brings the fight every single night. “The Baddest Man Alive” Aaron Williams has been cutting his own swath of destruction across Ohio, catching the eye of Ron Mathis in Cleveland’s AIW, he and Mathis formed The Regulators. This is a double tough team that’s more than willing to hurt people. They may well be the odds on favorite to win the tournament and the belts!!!

Team IOU entered in March 21st CHALLENGE ACCEPTED tag team tournament

Team IOU(Nick Iggy and Kerry Awful) return to Proving Ground Pro as the 3rd team in a field of 8, looking for a signature win and the vacant PGP tag team titles. Team IOU has never had a bad showing in the Proving Ground, but that hasn’t kept them from suffering some tough losses during their tenure. Nick and Kerry are Dutch Mantel trained, making them extremely skilled and dangerous inside the ring. The fun loving and irreverent “Boy and Dog” image belie the hard truth that this team, Team IOU, can hurt you and beat you. Having been in the ring around the country with some of the very best teams the sport has to offer, IOU is battle tested with some big wins on their resume. Will CHALLENGE ACCEPTED be the night Team IOU claim the championship?

Alpha Breed added as 4th team for 3-21 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Remi Wilkins returns to the Proving Ground, this time with his Alpha Breed tag partner Trevor Court, ready to show why they’ve been gaining a reputation as a serious team on the independent circuit. Plying their trade as The Alpha Breed has proven to be extremely successful for Wilkins and Court, both members of this team have the full compliment of tools it takes to be a winner in the ring, speed, strength and great mat fundamentals Alpha Breed are looking for a championship to reward their hard work, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED may set up perfectly to make that happen for them.

Roscoe Eat Lisa added as 5th team for CHALLENGE ACCEPTED tournament

Zakk Sawyer and Mikey McFinnigan have both been to Proving Ground Pro for singles action, this time they return as Roscoe Eat Lisa, the oddly named team that has quickly become a problem for nearly everyone they’ve faced. Sawyer and McFinnigan created a combination that has elevated both mens success in the mat game, each complimenting the others skills and showing a natural affinity for teamwork. Having already captured tag titles in some of the places they work, Sawyer and McFinnigan plan to stay on that path and create another winning situation for themselves. Roscoe Eat Lisa could be your next PGP tag team champions on March 21st, whether they succeed or fail, they’ll bring one hell of a fight!!!

Team Overkill added to CHALLENGE ACCEPTED 3-21

The next team to enter the field of eight are no strangers to Proving Ground Pro. Team Overkill ( Matt Cage and Christian Rose ) are two of the best singles wrestlers in Illinois and some say the country. But when the two of them decide to put their talents together they are undoubtedly one of the best teams going. These two gentleman have had their sites set on tag gold in PGP before. Cage and Rose went to the finals of a four team tournament to crown the first ever tag champions in the Proving Ground. Coming up just short they have vowed to not let that happen again. Overkill could be the favorite to win this tournament. Tons of big match experience and a lethal arsenal of moves makes it hard to think differently. This team will stop at nothing to prove they are the best. The stage is set to do just that March 21st at CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Eight teams with one night to show everyone they are the tag team of the future in Proving Ground Pro and the next Tag Team Champions!

Kansas City Killers are 7th team in CHALLENGE ACCEPTED tag tournament

The Kansas City Killers Jeremy Wyatt and Mark Sterling bring their storied career and championship resume to the Proving Ground on March 21st when they look to win the vacant tag team titles in a one night, 8 team tournament. Wyatt and Sterling have experience, skill and a serious mean streak to accent their impressive mat game, this could well be your next PGP Tag Team champs. Expect The Killers to push their opponents to the brink with a physical assault precisely executed with a blueprint quality game plan. Don’t miss your chance to see The Kansas City Killers make a business trip to Proving Ground Pro!!!

MegaOvir final entrant in 3-21 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED tag team tournament

The final team entered in the CHALLENGE ACCEPTED tournament is MegaOvir(“Mega” Chris Jones and Ovirload), this is a hybrid blend of strong style (Mega Chris) and lucha extreme(Ovirload) becoming a unit fully capable of winning the titles in a one night tournament setting. Expect MegaOvir to bring the excitement as “Mega” Chris Jones deals a European strong style that will bust you up then tie you into a pretzel, “The Tyrant of Technology” Ovirload brings electrifying lucha style with rapid assault and perhaps the best frog splash in the business, don’t miss this pair!!! March 21st is the night MegaOvir looks to put themselves on the tag team map, see it happen live!!!

Not only do you get 8 teams battling for the vacant Proving Ground Pro tag team titles in a 1 night tournament, PGP Franchise champion “Dirdey” Jake Dirden meets #1 contender “The Apex” Blake Steel in the clash set to blow the roof off the Proving Ground! Only $10($5 for kids) gets you every moment of CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, doors open at 6:30pm with first bell at 7pm. Keep an eye on PGP, there’s still more to announce for this big night! It all happens at Roots Event Center/Image Sports(14305 State Hwy 97, Petersburg,IL) about 2 miles south of Petersburg near New Salem State Historic Site. Come find out why this is the show that’s creating a buzz……ENTER THE PROVING GROUND!!!
